"Wow! The fic has finally been updated!" Yeah, sorry bout that; the chapter is still in progress. It's 20% completed so don't cha worry; it'll be released with the Thorn Satella art that I will commission. But that isn't exactly why I posted this update.
Back then, when I saw the Witch won, I was tapping my mouse as I saw the result, thinking about the pros and cons. The pro is the kiss (obviously, it's peak). But the con is that I agree with some readers that this might be too early. However, I decided to just screw it and write it anyway since I really want to write the cast's reaction to the kisses. That is, before I found Adversarial Fury.
Spoiler alert for those who played the game and haven't reached that route!
When I was scrolling through the memories, I noticed that there are arts in the library that are missing. I searched around and found that I needed to go through the Adversary, which I completed by fighting forever with the Princess. And so I went through it again by being a coward, and I have to say — and I know this sounds corny — the chapter really touched my heart.
When I realized what the Princess was doing, I related hard. Back then, I had a crush on someone and tried everything to get their attention. Sufficed to say, it never went beyond friendship. Long after we graduated, I met her again and tried to do the same thing. But I realized we both changed; I was never someone they thought I was, and they were never someone I thought they were. I realized the futility of it all and decided to let it go. I'd rather not remember any of it since it was cringe af, but when I played the Adversarial Fury with Voice of the Broken, the metaphor really struck me in the heart.
Which is why I want to write that route. My plan is for you people to vote on whether to follow it or proceed with the third route. If you vote for my plan, the Thorn will still be completed, but Adversarial Fury will become the second route for the fic, while the Thorn will be changed to the third route. Don't worry, the Thorn will not be deleted; it will simply be frozen but still available to read in the fic until I finish Adversarial Fury and then I rewrite the Thorn as our third route. Alternatively, you can vote not to do that; instead, once Thorn is completed, the fic will continue to the third route.
Oh, and I also decided to extend the maximum route to six. I don't think this is something to be voted on since I think everyone will be satisfy for this decision. But if you object, do mention it in the comments and I will reconsider it.
Edit: Thought I'm gonna need a little more time for the result to show itself but nah the second option won. I'll delete this chapter later, expect the next chapter to be released either this month. Idk what date it would be, but I'm sure it'll be this month. It's 30% completed, so stay tuned
