Chapter Text
“So of course I told her that’s ridiculous. I mean, we’ve all seen the look Brusha gives her. And besides…”
Boxten was ripped back to reality by a hand snapping in his face. He blinked a few times to remember where he was and lifted his gaze to meet a not-so-happy Glisten’s.
“Are you even listening to me?” Boxten plastered on a shy grin and rubbed the back of his neck. Whoops, he’d been caught.
Glisten sighed. “Sheesh, Boxy. I know I’m stunning, but you must try to pay attention.”
His voice carried a teasing edge, but his confidence wasn’t misplaced. He seemed to sparkle even on his “worst” days, but he’d changed things up today: his iconic pink bow was switched out for a pale green one, a fluffy coat accented his torso, and flowers were clipped to his head. Even his gold skin seemed to glow pastel pink instead of its usual honeyish hues. It was true: he was absolutely stunning.
Boxten felt a playful shove on his shoulder.
“You’re still not listening!” Glisten lightly griped and pushed again.
Boxten laughed. “Jeez, I’m sorry!”
“No you’re not.” Glisten scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Just can’t get enough of me, can you?”
“Not really…” Glisten stalled. Shoot, did I say that out loud?
Pinkish hands slipped up Boxten’s shirt and clasped behind his back. The chilly metal made him jump, but he didn’t dare step away.
“You’re so easy to read, Boxy.” Before he could think of a reply, he was tugged against Glisten’s chest, Glass grazed wood as their mouths intertwined and both lovers melted into one another. When they parted Boxten’s gaze was instantly stolen by his boyfriend’s eyeshadow.
“Pink is such a good color on you.”
Glisten huffed. “I know.”
