Chapter Text
Derek struggled with the door to his home, which Hastur and Avery found funny, before finally throwing the door open.
Sure, Hasturs seen the others' house for the most part, but it was still new to them, navigation and all. His house was.. decent. Not a total dump. But it was still a bit unorganized, small piles of clothes in corners, lots of missing trinkets, all that. But its still pretty clean for the most part, that they would admit. Not to his face though. His ego's big enough.
"Hey Derek?" Avery called out to his new friend.
Derek hummed in acknowledgement.
"Can I sleep over..?" He finally asked, although reluctantly.
Derek seemed unfazed. "Sure. Did ya bring a sleeping bag or something?" He questioned, not looking up from his computer.
Avery stammered. "I- uh- well- I mean-" The skywars pro stumbled over his words, before finally finding them. "Well, yeah because I slept over with Zach.." He sheepishly admitted.
To this, Derek raised an eyebrow, looking up from his computer. "You did? Then why do you want to sleep over at my house?" Derek asked, unable to keep the teasing tone out of his voice.
Avery didn't have an answer to that. Why did he even want to? Well, technically his mind was making answers, but he couldn't say those out loud.
"Well, we just met.. so I think its fitting..?" Avery half-lied, sounding unsure himself.
Derek sighed. "I guess.. as long as you have a sleeping bag.." He relented.
Avery felt happy. Brushing off the fact that he didn't offer him the guest bedroom, he opened up his bag to set up his sleeping bag.
While Avery was doing that, Hastur quickly ran off to their room, assuming they weren't needed anymore.
Hastur shut the door to the guest room, before sliding down to the floor and sitting. They shifted their position so they were more comfortable before curling up into a ball mostly.
.. Why was there something warm and salty leaking from their eyes? Was this weak vessel already failing? Gods, this is stupid.
They felt.. oddly hollow. Like something was missing in their chest.
And worst of all? They felt so, so, incredibly weak.
After.. whatever this is, happening for hours on end, they had come to the that the vessel they inhabited was failing. Dying. Whatever the case, this stupid, shitty failing body would stop leaking these fluids from their eyes. And they were salty. And just generally gross.
Forcing themselves to stand, Hastur wobbled over to the guest bed, flopping onto it and curling up into a ball.
They felt.. oddly tired. Heavy, deep exhaustion sinking into their bones.
And before they knew it, they had passed out.
Red. There was red everywhere. And not the pleasant kind. It smelled metallic and was slightly sticky.
And they were covered in it. Shoulders to toes, they were almost completely drenched it.
Derek was laying on the floor, unmoving, the weird red fluid pooled around him. While Avery, heavily injured but alive, was staring at them with disgust.
What had they done..?
