Chapter Text
I sigh in relief as the bus stops.
I was worried I'd crumble into dust before we reached the station.
As soon as I step off the bus, I begin using my telepathy.
Where are you, Peter?
I discovered a while ago that for some reason, Peter has a distinct feeling. I can sense where he is if I concentrate.
I keep walking as I search.
I collide with someone's chest and gasp, startled out of my concentration.
"Oh! I'm sorry!"
He smiles.
"It's okay."
I stare for a moment.
He's wearing red-tinted glasses and a coat.
For some reason, I just stand there.
He frowns.
"Are you okay?"
I blink.
"Oh! Yeah. My name's Jean."
Why would you say that!
"Scott."
My eyes dart side to side.
"Oh. Okay, nice to meet you, Scott. Bye!"
I quickly shoulder past him, blushing.
What was that about?
I decide to play it safe, and secure a seat on a bench before I try again.
I pull my concentration inward, and search for Peter's distinct mind.
There. He's... Right in front of me!
I quickly look around.
He's trying to hide in the crowd, but I see him.
Once he realizes I've spotted him, he sheepishly strides over.
"Hi, Jean. I didn't expect to see you here..."
I smirk.
"Neither did I. Almost like it's fate, right, Parker?"
I lightly tease him, curious about how he found out I was coming.
Why else would he be hiding in the crowd?
He blushes.
Jean. You didn't come to make small talk.
I scowl, hating to ruin the moment.
"You ok?"
I bite my lip.
"Can we go somewhere private? I need to talk to you."
I hastily add, "In private. I need to talk to you in private."
He nods.
"Follow me."
