Old poems collection

Chapter 5: Unnamed 5

Summary:

Well, I already posted this, but since it is one of the old poems (that I wrote for somebody), might as well put it here.

Chapter Text

If we were to hold hands, would your vein reach mine?
Only when we are interlinked, mind to mind.
But it won't happen, will it?

I was scared, going through the dark. My eyes ached for the very source of light.
Just until then, my gaze locked with yours, eyes to eyes.
It was like I was lured into the pit.
But if it means loving you, was it worth it?
Deep down in that soul, seen through an iris.
Vulnerable was a human, protected by flesh.
All of those wounds, caused by the one you stayed with the closest.
No wonder you hesitate.

Your eyes, flickering like a fire in the windy night.
What keeps you awake is the tiny string of might.
Rotting, like the wax melting.
Once it dried, there's no regretting.
The lines, perfectly unparalleled.
Going through each other like a cross.
Then, the warmth blurs your sight.
That's when the pain hits you right.

One night, I was on that dreamy boat.
We were holding hands, covered with a coat.
You were all pale, while I hum.
Singing you a lullaby, holding your thumb.
When it sank, the cold fluid caressed me.
And when I woke up, I remember you vividly.

Notes:

Yesterday, I almost died from an anxiety attack/ asthma attack, but that will not stop me from doing poetry. You know what they say, "No pain, no gain". Am I right? No? I guess not...
