Chapter Text

After several hours of back and forth, Ankarna finally compromised with letting champions be invited to the wedding.

But giving an inch means Sol would try to take a mile.

"Well, if we let the champions come, we can let their family come too, right?"

Ankarna scoffed, glaring at the God. "Sol I swear to- Don't make me take back what we just agreed on."

Sol smiled at Ankarna. One of those sly smiles she had seen his followers use when they thought they got away with something. She hated that stupid smile. "You can't. I already sent the invitation to my "champion.""

Ankarna stared at him in disbelief. How could this God have such a pompous attitude. Cassandra had decided to have the wedding at the mountains of chaos, and Ankarna obliged. Was this why Sol was deciding to be such a contrarian? Was he throwing a fit because he couldn't have the wededing where he wanted it? It wasnt his wedding. It's not his place to say.

"You can't let us have a moment to plan without committing to something, can you?"

"What can I say, it's just the way I am. Plus, my followers like it, so I don't get why you don't." Sol took a step towards Ankarna.

Ankarna mirrored him, getting even closer. "Well, I'm not sure if this has ever occurred to you Sol, but I'm not your fucking followers."

Cassandra got in between the two of them, trying to break up the budding fight.

"Can't you two cut it out? Look Sol, Ankarna has been nice enough to let our champions come, so can't we just leave it where it is? You know Ankarna doesn't really like big gatherings, we're just trying to make sure we're both comfortable, okay? Just drop it"

Sol huffed at Cassandra, a small sneer forming at the corner of his mouth.

Ankarna took a seat as far away from Sol as she could. Near her sisters. They all stared at her, waiting for her to inevitably gripe about him. She always seemed to have something to say.

"I can't believe him…"

Her sisters nodded. Going from being a small community oriented deity to a family that was very well known was more of a problem than they had all thought it would be. A big god apparently had a bigger ego.

"I'm glad we're all on the same page, sister." Ruvina whispered.

Ankarna nodded, watching Cassandra and Sol bickering. He always made Cassandra feel so small, and though she wanted to help, to stand up and tell Sol to leave her fiancee alone, Cass had told her not to. Cassandra wanted to be brave like her.

She hated seeing Cassandra shrink against Sol's words.

What a dick.

If you want to leave CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, let me know how im doing on things like character descriptions and setting descriptions. I have aphantasia so I literally cannot picture my settings, which makes it hard to describe.
