We're Such A Mess Together (You Make Me Lose My Temper)

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Hole Inside My Heart

Summary:

Chuuya deals with the aftermath.
Dazai deals with the League.
Class 1A is so lost rn
Also, if I'm being honest, I put the same TW for each chapt cuz I can't remember which is which

TW: Swearing, Mild Suicide Mention(guess who), Mild Violence

Notes:

Guys, the last chapter, CH4, was WAYYY too long for me to yap everything, but...

I realized kinda recently that there are some parallels (or whtever) in the fact that Chuuya was running, thinking of DAZAI, to get to him, while Dazai was running, thinking of CHUUYA, to get away(ish) from him

Like wow that's kinda crazy I was just freestyling ngl
But there is a song reference when Chuuya is abusing Mr. Compress, like the "There's no limit to how far I'll go you need to comprehend who's in control" or the (I heart you...I heart you NOT) song lyrics lmfaoo Im sorry guys I couldn't get it out of my head

Anyway, sorry for a long ass note. I think this is the longest one yet, wih abt 9K words and I think I suck at breaking up chapters so that's why...heh.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

When 15-year-old Chuuya Nakahara saw a brunette boy covered in bandages trespassing on Sheep territory, he knew he had to teach the brat a lesson.

He kicked the boy in the back, probably breaking it in two, and sent him flying into the nearest wall.

‘He definitely ain’t getting up after that…’

The guy was scrawnier up close.

‘Ha! They really hire anyone these days.’

“A kid! The Port Mafia was so desperate for people, huh?” He smirked, pressing his foot down on the bandaged boy’s chest.

Oddly enough, the boy was unresponsive and didn’t even seem to mind it. He didn’t even react to the blood slowly seeping into his eye bandage.

‘...Weirdo.’

His visible, hollow eye bored into Chuuya’s discordant ones, giving him goosebumps.

The boy opened his mouth. “I hate pain, you know.”

‘...The fuck?’

Chuuya decided to ignore this freak’s behaviour. “I’ll give you two options. Die now, or die after you give me information.”

The boy didn’t hesitate to respond. “Kill me now then. All the better if you can do it gently.”

‘Okay...who let this maniac waltz in here? I’d be glad to pummel his ass any day…’

“What are you, some suicidal brat?” Chuuya exclaimed, pushing his weight into his foot.

The brunette tilted his head the slightest bit.  “You’re a brat too.”

‘This bitc–’

“I’m not just any brat, unlike you.” Chuuya spat. “Why don’t you tell me about this Arahabaki you’re looking for?”

He ignored the shivers that went up his spine at the mere mention of the name.

A smirk slowly grew on the bandaged freak’s face. His eye darkened.

‘Dead eyes…kinda like a fish. A mackerel, to be exact…’

“Arahabaki, huh…” the brunette drawled out.

“You know about it, don’t you?” Chuuya said, glaring at him.

“No. First I’ve heard of it.” The bastard lied straight to his face.

Chuuya felt no remorse in instantly kicking him in the jaw at that. He pressed down on the other’s chest harder.

“I see…” Yet again, the other remained unflinching. “You’re the king of the sheep. Manipulator of gravity, Chuuya Nakahara”

‘King? No, I’m fucking not! Can I beat this guy up already?’

They kept going back and forth, each taunt more offensive than the last.

Chuuya barely managed to keep from breaking the Mackerel bastard’s teeth in.

‘This better be the first and last time I EVER have to speak with the likes of him.’

Little did he know it was the start of a chain reaction, a story about the greatest, most powerful duo in Yokohama’s history, Soukoku, the Demon Prodigy and the Strongest Ability User.

Their origin began here.

__________

Chuuya was lost.

He didn’t know where he was, but judging by his surroundings, it was probably a hospital. He blearily tried to blink his sleep away.

‘Dazai…he doesn’t like hospitals…I should go get him out…’

“Chuuya?” Someone knocked on the door and entered. Chuuya looked up to see Yaoyorozu, Asui, and Denki coming in, some parts of their skin wrapped in bandages.

‘Seems like they had some injuries too…wait, was Dazai hurt?’

“How are you doing?” Denki asked, taking a seat.

“I…” Chuuya was a bit surprised by his weak voice. His throat also hurt like hell. But he had priorities. “Where’s Zai?” he mumbled, still half asleep.

His classmates shifted nervously, refusing to meet his gaze.

Chuuya took a sharp inhale.

‘Why are they acting like that?’

“Where is he?” His voice was firmer. He sat up a bit straighter.

Asui approached the bed. “Kero…Chuuya, I’m sorry. He and Bakugou…they’re gone.”

Chuuya stared at her in shock. How could she lie so blatantly? “What are you saying? Dazai can’t be…he-he doesn’t like hospitals. I, I gotta get to him…”

Chuuya turned to get out of bed, but Yaoyorozu put her hand on his shoulder. “Chuuya…” she whispered. “It’s hard to process it, but–”

“No!” Chuuya shook her hand off, feeling wide awake now. “Don’t lie to me! I’ll go find him myself, damnit!”

‘If they’re just going to get in my way, then–’

“Dude, no–” Denki blocked his path, slowly pushing him back to the hospital bed. “Rest a bit first. The Pro Heroes are–”

“I don’t give a fuck!” Chuuya spat, and Denki flinched back. “If you don’t move out of my way–”

“Chuuya, kero, he’s been kidnapped by the League of Villains; what could you possibly do?” Asui snapped back, her tone unwavering.

Chuuya met her eyes, finding zero hint of deceit in them.

‘What? Why…huh?

.

.

.

He's gone.’

If someone had asked Chuuya three years ago what he would do if Dazai disappeared right in front of his eyes, he'd have jumped for joy and celebrated like there was no tomorrow.

It's crazy how much can change in a few years of knowing a person.

Chuuya panicked.

There was no other way to explain it.

He desperately gasped for air, struggling to breathe, as he clutched at his collar and bent over, shrivelling up into himself as the walls closed in on him, trapping him.

‘No, no, it can’t be. He’s here; he has to be. He’s alive, Chuuya. I need air, I need to breathe, deep breaths, Chuuya, what would Dazai say if he saw you lying around and choking helplessly!?

.

.

.

But he isn’t here.’

Chuuya’s vision blurred, and he coughed uncontrollably, curling in on himself more. He could faintly recognize people’s hysterical voices in the background, but he was too deep in his head to care.

‘DAZAI, WHERE ARE YOU!?’

“No, no, no, no, no!” he muttered, hands flying to his head as he pulled at his ginger locks.

Then a hand patted his shoulder reassuringly.

‘Wha…huh?’

His grip on his hair loosened as he registered the activity.

“Chuuya…it’ll be alright.” He looked up to see familiar onyx eyes staring right at him, and equally black hair tied back into a ponytail. He focused on their soothing voice, and his breathing slowed as they rubbed comforting circles around his back.

He squinted, trying his best to make out the person. “Gin?”

He hadn’t realized he’d said it aloud until the person stopped the action and stared at him strangely. “No? Chuuya, it’s me, Yaoyorozu. Are you having problems with your vision?”

Chuuya wiped his eyes with the heel of his palm and took a better look at the girl. “Ah…I’m sorry. You reminded me of someone I know back home…”

Yaoyorozu gave him a small smile. “It’s alright. Are you feeling a bit better?”

“...” Chuuya nodded. Denki let out a huge sigh of relief.

“I’m glad, dude. I was worried you would pass out again…”

“Again?” Chuuya lifted his head and met their eyes.

The blonde squirmed. Asui answered for him. “Shouji and Todoroki saw you, kero. You and Midoriya had…strong reactions to the kidnapping.”

“But we’ll get them back!” Denki raised a fist triumphantly.

“...” Chuuya drew a ragged breath. “He’s really gone, isn’t he?”

Yaoyorozu and Denki averted his gaze. Asui nodded.

“Yes, kero.”

“Then…what do I do now?” he said, mainly to himself. The other three looked at each other.

“We don’t know. But for starters, you can let your body heal.” Yaoyorozu offered. Denki and Asui agreed.

‘Heal? But…’

“I…”

He finally registered the immense ache in his muscles and soreness in his throat.

‘Maybe I do need some time…’

Chuuya bit back a protest. “Okay.” The ginger lay down and stared at the ceiling. He heard the door shut softly as the others exited.

‘Dazai…please be safe. I’m coming for you, partner.’

__________

Shoto Todoroki didn’t know what the fuck was wrong with Chuuya, but he still tried his best to think about it.

Let’s go back to the day before Izuku Midoriya woke up from his brief, 2-day coma.

Shoto felt restless at home, so he decided to visit the hospital. He met Kirishima there, and they visited their class together.

He and the redhead saw Momo Yaoyorozu speaking to a police officer and All Might, explaining her quick thinking in placing a tracker on the nomu, and handing them a device to track its location.

‘She excels in on-the-spot decisions…good going, Yaoyorozu!’ Shoto mentally cheered her on. ‘I wonder…if we got that device, could we…?’

He glanced at Kirishima, who met his eyes.

‘Looks like we have the same idea.’

He knew it was up to him and Kirishima to inform their classmates and search for their friends on their own.

But first, Shoto had a bone to pick with a certain ginger.

‘Chuuya. What’s his deal?’

He had heard that the teen had woken up earlier today, which was surprising, given how he was diagnosed with multiple broken bones and possible head injuries, but still managed to heal quickly.

‘Well, regardless, I have to chat with him.’

Chuuya was an odd case. When Shoto first saw him, he associated him with the brunette, Dazai, as they always hovered around each other.

Shoto wasn’t so sure that the dating allegations were false.

‘They seem like a fun pair.’

But then, the way he acted during the attack nearly gave Shoto whiplash.

He was…strong. And yes, Shoto already knew this from the spar the ginger had done with his friend, but he didn’t expect his quirk to be so powerful.

And where there’s immense power, danger follows.

Shoto was a bit ashamed to admit he had classified Chuuya as similar to Bakugou, both short-tempered and a bit arrogant, but he later realized Chuuya was different.

He was only ever like that with Dazai, and as Uraraka showed the rest of the class, the short boy was actually kind and caring at heart.

He felt bad for his previous thoughts, but all guilt vanished when he got a front-row seat to Chuuya’s show with Mr. Compress.

‘I…I can’t move my body!’ He remembered his mind screaming at him to act. ‘You came here to become a hero, Shoto; act like one!’

‘...’

Chuuya was supposed to be a hero too.

[“I never said I was one.”]

But right then and there, Chuuya acted like a merciless demon who didn’t even give the villain a chance.

‘He’s acting as bad as them! And everyone just moved on like nothing was wrong…’ Shoto faltered. ‘But…if he did it to a villain…was it really wrong?’

He stopped right outside Chuuya’s hospital room, hand raised as if to knock.

‘Only one way to find out.’

“Chuuya.” He called, entering. “I’m here to talk.”

The ginger sat up straight and looked out the window, almost peacefully in a way.

But after what Shoto saw a few days ago, it was quite unnerving.

He would never forget Mr. Compress’s agony, the almost empty look on the face of the one who caused those horrible wails.

“I…I need to know, Chuuya.” He gulped audibly. “What side are you on?”

Chuuya slowly turned his head and met Shoto’s gaze.

His face was devoid of emotion, yet strangely calm. “Todoroki. You have questions for me…I can’t blame you.”

“Answer me first, please.” Shoto felt like his curiosity would eat him alive.

‘What’s he going to say now? No kidnapping here to get him out of answering…’

Chuuya took a long, deep breath. “Sides, huh?” He scoffed. “I honestly don’t know. I’m on the side where I can be with Dazai. And right now, that’s here.”

‘Huh? Dazai again?’

“What?” Shoto questioned. “What exactly is the nature of your rela–”

“That doesn’t matter.” Chuuya cut in. “All you need to know is that I’m going to save him, no matter what.” His eyes darkened, and he pinned Shoto down with an intensity he couldn’t quite describe. “Now, are you going to help me, or not?”

“I…” Shoto took a moment to think. Chuuya was an enigma. What did he mean, ‘be with Dazai’? If Dazai was a part of the LOV…would he…?

‘No, Shoto, it’s no use thinking useless things.’ He chided himself. ‘He’s still a bit suspicious…but if our thoughts align…’

“I still don’t trust you.” He admitted. Chuuya didn’t even flinch. He continued, “But Kirishima and I have a plan to save Bakugou, and Dazai along with him. We can join forces for now, but only on one condition.”

Shoto didn’t miss the way Chuuya’s eyes regained a bit of light at that statement. “Alright. It doesn’t matter what it is, count me in.”

‘Ok…here goes.’

“You…you have to promise you won’t harm me, or any of my classmates.” Shoto knew he was taking a bit of a leap, but he had to be sure!

Chuuya tilted his head, staying silent for a moment too long. Shoto stiffened in anticipation.

‘Did I mess up?’

Then he burst out laughing.

Shoto blinked.

‘What is he finding so goddamn funny?!’

“Why are you laughing?” His tone was way harsher than he’d have liked.

Chuuya wiped an invisible tear from his eye. “Oh, sorry, it’s nothing. Just, I can’t believe you’d think I’d ever attack you brats.”

‘Huh… right. He protected Asui, too…’

“Speaking of which, why did you protect Asui? You let the villain get away…and…” Shoto trailed off, feeling it was a bit insensitive to bring up that Chuuya indirectly let one of their classmates get kidnapped. It wasn’t entirely his fault.

“Hm…” Chuuya put a hand to his chin thoughtfully. “Do I need a reason? She needed help. I helped her. Isn’t that like the basic foundation to being a hero?”

Shoto blinked. That wasn’t what he’d expected.

‘Ah. He didn’t even have to think too much about it…’

“I…see. You’re right, Chuuya.”

‘Maybe he isn’t too bad…but just maybe.’

“I’m sorry I snapped at you on that day.” Shoto bowed in apology.

The ginger rushed to stop him. “Oh, no, it was completely natural. I mean, I was panicking…and did things I shouldn’t have…it’s no problem at all.” Chuuya smiled at him.

‘At least he recognizes it was wrong?’

“Chuuya, I’m not going to ask you how you even learnt to do that, because to be quite frank, I’m not sure I want to know anymore.”

Chuuya rubbed the back of his neck, averting his gaze. “Yeah…probably for the best.”

‘I can figure it out later, anyway.’

“We’re going to visit Midoriya tomorrow and tell him of our plan. You should join.”

“Of course, Todoroki. Thanks for involving me.”

Shoto snorted. “If I didn’t, I have a feeling you would’ve gone off on yourself.”

‘Heh, he isn’t that reckless when it comes to Dazai, right.’

As Shoto moved toward the exit, Chuuya only gave a cryptic smile in response.

‘...Right?’

__________

Midoriya was kind of a crybaby.

Chuuya came here to hear out a plan to save Dazai, not to listen to a broccoli’s pathetic self-pity and regrets.

“I couldn’t save someone…right in front of me…” Tears flowed from Midoriya’s eyes, showing zero sign of stopping soon.

[“OSAMU!”]

‘I’m so done with this shit!’

“Midoriya, shut the fuck up!” he snapped, approaching the boy’s hospital bed. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Kirishima shutting his jaw; looks like he beat the redhead to the punch.

A few from the class gasped at Chuuya’s behaviour, but he didn’t care.

Midoriya’s tears didn’t stop, but he stopped wailing at that outburst.

“Listen up, man! I’m not gonna lie to you and say that your friend’s fine, he’ll make it, and all that bullshit. You regret it, don’t you? The person you wanted to save so desperately was inches away, and yet you still couldn’t reach out and pull them back. Am I correct?”

Midoriya nodded, sniffling. “Well, then, don’t just sit there and wallow in self-pity! Get up, and shove all your doubts up your ass! I don’t care about your ‘what could’ve beens’ or ‘what if’s’; all that matters is what you do now!” He barked.

He saw a gleam of hope break through Midoriya’s hazy irises. He continued.

“I couldn’t save Dazai, and I fucking hate myself for that.” A few people in the background shifted uncomfortably.

“People make mistakes, all the goddamn time. But I’m going to get him back, and that blondie too. Now, Midoriya, are you gonna just sit there and stay inside your own head, or are you gonna grow a fucking pair and join us to save those idiots!”

Midoriya’s expression shifted; his mossy eyes filled with determination, and Chuuya could tell he’d finally gotten through.

He could hear hushed whispers behind him, some criticizing his blunt words, but Chuuya would be happy to tell them to fucking suck it.

Kirishima put a hand on his shoulder. “Chuuya’s right. Let’s save them.” He restated the events he and Todoroki went through yesterday, what they saw with Yaoyorozu and All Might.

‘So that’s their plan? Quite smart of Yaoyorozu.’

Iida was the first to protest. “It’s like All Might said! This is something we should leave to the Pros! This isn’t a place for us–”

“I’m not going to leave Dazai’s life in their hands!” Chuuya scowled and turned to face the teen. Iida stepped backwards at the bitterness in his words.

‘People who’d willingly chain a child up…who the fuck would trust them?;

“Why are you so fixated on him!?” Iida snapped back, eye twitching. Looks like he finally broke.

“For the last time, that doesn’t matter! You all don’t need to know that shit!”

Kirishima backed him up. “We know that, Iida! It’s not our place…but I couldn’t do anything! My friend was being targeted and I…I…didn’t even do anything! If I don’t act now, I won’t be a hero, or a man anymore!”

‘I see where Dazai was coming from with the low self-esteem thing a while back. But he’s a good kid, protecting his friends.’

A few kids from the class shushed him for being loud; it was a hospital, after all.

Kirishima whipped his head around to Midoriya. “Midoriya!” He reached out his hand. “Your hand can still reach, just like Chuuya said! We can save them!”

Midoriya nodded and accepted his hand. Chuuya held back a scoff.

‘Okay, he just gave a watered-down version of my speech, but sure. Go team, I guess.’

The class discussed it for a bit, going back and forth like a debate. Chuuya tapped his foot impatiently as he listened to their points.

Finally, Asui, possibly one of the more rational ones there, spoke up, and everyone listened with bated breath.

“Everyone. We’re all still in shock by the kidnapping, so we shouldn’t rush into these decisions. Let’s think this through calmly.” Chuuya almost nodded; someone was speaking sense.

“If you’re saying you’ll fight again, that you’ll break the rules…those acts are the same as those villains.”

‘Okay, I take back everything I said earlier.’ The room fell into an eerie silence as everyone digested her statement.

Chuuya couldn’t believe it. “So that’s it?”

Mina fidgeted. “Chuuya–”

“No, that’s fucking it? Are you just going to give up?” A few stepped backwards at that. “Have you all ever bothered to think about our intentions behind this before slapping labels on it?”

Midoriya frowned. “Chuuya, what do you mean?”

“I mean, if we’re using our quirks to save our classmates, putting information we have to good use, is it really villainous?”

Chuuya could see the shift in their demeanours. Some looked at him strangely, their expressions screaming, ‘Why are you on the villain’s side?’ while others genuinely considered it.

Chuuya had no patience for this. “Look, I don’t give a damn if you all stay here, twiddling your thumbs. I’m going to save Dazai, whether you guys are coming or not.”

Denki jerked his head up. “If Sensei finds out–”

“I don’t care. As long as Dazai’s safe, I’ll gladly take any punishment.”

“Wha– Chuuya!” Mina called, but Chuuya walked out of the hospital room, slamming the door shut behind him.

‘I hate these goddamn rules! If I were back home…’

He punched the elevator button in frustration, but a hand reached through the door and stopped it just before it closed.

‘Who the fuck had half a mind to–’

“Chuuya,” Todoroki called, “Meet us near the front door tonight. The plan is still on.”

Chuuya smirked. ‘At least some of them still got some bite.’

“See you there.”

The hand pulled back, and the elevator started up.

‘Okay, Chuuya…you got this.’ He mentally hyped himself up, observing his reflection in the elevator's shiny metal.

His gaze faltered when it reached the bridge of his nose. ‘Huh…strange.’ Chuuya leaned in closer, his hand reaching up to his cheeks, fingertips softly caressing them. ‘I do have freckles…he was right.’

His eyes lingered on them for a second too long. ‘I should tell him that…’

He looked down at his hands, the same hands that could’ve reached for Dazai, the same that could’ve saved him.

‘I feel like someone ripped something away from my soul…it sucks.’

Not only that, but a weird ache had been in his chest ever since he woke up, and it got worse every second he thought about his partner, which was all the time.

‘It's like there's a hole inside my heart…it’s fucking awful.’

Chuuya clutched the part of his t-shirt around his chest, or more specifically, his heart.

‘I know he’s capable…but I’m gonna drag him back here myself. Just you wait, Dazai, there’s a fist to the face with your name on it.’

__________

The villains had taste; Dazai would give them that.

Their main base was a classy bar, and it even had a fine selection of wines he knew the Slug would enjoy.

‘Speaking of the Slug…I wonder how he’s doing?’ Dazai casually hummed a merry tune, his favorite song, Double Suicide. ‘Welp, I’m sure he’s fending for himself. He’s a capable dog. Anyway, can this idiot get to the point already?’

Shigaraki had been rambling on and on, and at this point Dazai wondered if the dude just liked hearing his own voice. He had already played a video of UA’s response to the criticism that arrived from the villain attack at the camp, and was picking it apart one by one.

However, the League was mainly there to convince Bakugou; Dazai could tell from the obviously targeted speech and the fact that Bakugou’s handcuffs were special quirk-cancelling ones, while his were…simple fucking handcuffs.

He freed his hands eons ago, but decided to humour the LOV’s leader, since he had no current escape plan.

‘I could free Bakugou…but what could he do? We’re kinda outnumbered here…’ His eyes scanned the room.

‘Okay…Blondie. Toga, I think? Her quirk has to do with blood…she needs it for something. Vampire-looking ass…Then the magician, Mr. Compress. He can turn us into compressed balls and carry us around easily. Quite useful.’ He sighed when his eyes landed on the next person.

‘Scar-Face, AKA Dabi. I think his skin suffers every time he uses his quirk. He and his quirk are incompatible. Weirdly enough, he reminds me of a certain boy in Class 1A… wait, didn’t the Todorokis have a deceased son? Gotta look into that.’

He chuckled silently to himself. This was getting fun.

‘Then the warp dude; I don’t know much about him, but he can portal them anywhere. Twice is just sick in the head, and that brunette with sunglasses seems like their quirk has something to do with that big ass stick they carry around. And that green mutant turtle thing seems to be a follower of Stain, based on how they’re dressed.’

Dazai searched his memories for any information he had on Hero Killer Stain.

‘And lastly, Shigaraki. Has an apparent hand kink and has never heard of the term moisturizer. Jeez, I feel bad for the one who’s on the receiving end of those chapped lips; they’re drier than the goddamn desert.’

Dazai shuddered at the thought. ‘And of course, our hero boy, Bakugou!’ He eyed the blonde beside him.

Bakugou’s hands shook, and his beady red eyes darted around the room, but he still held that arrogant smirk.

‘He’s panicking. But he’s trying not to let it show… he wants the League to think they aren’t getting to him… interesting. He’s quite the character.’

He zoned back into Shigaraki’s long-ass paragraph, “This strange system of transforming people’s lives into money or glory…this society that sticks tight to those rules…the citizens who blame the losers rather than encourage them…our fight is to question: what is a hero?”

If Dazai’s being honest, he kinda saw the guy’s point. The whole popularity thing kinda turned the hero industry into a competitive game about who could save the most people.

Dazai knew he shouldn’t really care what people’s motivations were for saving others, as long as others were saved. Still, it was messed up that citizens blamed heroes for not rescuing them when they were perfectly capable of doing shit themselves. Heroes seemed to have lost their primary motivation, now existing only to flaunt their powers and status.

“What is justice? Is this society truly just? We’ll have everyone thinking about it. We plan to win.”

But for now, Dazai decided it was time to end this.

“You do realize that makes no sense, right?” He said, leaning back in his uncomfortable chair.

Everyone’s gaze snapped to him, Bakugou’s expression a mask of astonishment.

‘Oh, right, they thought I was knocked out. Welp.’

“What? How dare a brat like yo–,” Shigaraki fumed, but Dazai interrupted him.

“Like, you said your ‘fight’ is to question what a hero is… how do you win that fight? Ever heard of a dictionary?”

A beat of silence passed.

Dabi whistled.

“Well,” Shigaraki had his full attention on him now, “We’re going to show everyone how broken hero society truly is–”

“How?” Dazai cocked his head to the side and tried to look innocent and questioning. “For the record, I’m kinda interested in all this shit you’re preaching about. Tell me more, Mr. Hand Job.”

Shigaraki spluttered at the absurd nickname, while Dabi burst out laughing. Bakugou eyed him like he was a museum exhibit, or otherworldly being.

‘Bakugou’s probably confused… well, that’s not my problem.’

“Wow, this kid’s got spunk!” The stapled freak clutched his stomach.

“Oh, I wouldn’t be talking if I were you, patchwork. Who the fuck uses staples? Find a sewing kit, goddamn.”

Bakugou’s jaw dropped at that. He looked back and forth between the bantering villains and his classmate, then hastily whispered to Dazai,

“Bandages, what the fuck are you doing?”

Dazai snickered. “Aw, Kacchan, I’m just lightening up the mood a bit!” The blonde’s features twisted into fury.

“Don’t call me that, damnit! And while you’re talking, why’d you fucking throw yourself into the portal!?”

Dazai winked in response, and Bakugou gritted his teeth audibly.

“Stop playing around–’

“So you're curious about our motives, huh…” Shigaraki scratched his neck. “Quite the surprise from a hero in training. Aren’t you a transfer, too? I didn’t think UA accepted those…”

Toga, who was quiet on the side, giggled. “Maybe he’s a special case!”

The mutant lizard put a hand to his chin, thinking. “Now that I think about it, he kinda looks like Eraserhead…are you his relative?”

‘Why does everyone think that? Are they blind?’

“He and I look nothing alike,” Dazai groaned. He pinned his stare on Shigaraki. “And you, Shigaraki…I don’t think you have a main motive. Are you just doing this for kicks and giggles? How… disappointing.”

Shigaraki glowered at him, and his scratching increased rapidly. “You brat! Don’t talk about things you don’t know of. I’m going to show society how dependent they are on heroes, on All Might, and once their precious symbol of peace is gone, they won’t know what to do with themselves!”

‘Getting rid of All Might to show everyone the ‘truth’, huh…not half bad. But he seemed to take this hero–dependency thing a bit too personally…did something in his childhood make him that way? Or was he brought up to think this way?’

“And who exactly made this plan? I know for a fact it couldn’t be you…” Dazai chuckled.

“Hmph…” The scratching slowed, and his tone grew smug. “Of course, Master made it…he’s the one who’ll rule the new world…”

‘Okay, this master dude is suspicious.’

“Your master? Where is he then, if he’s the mastermind behind all this?” Dazai scoffed, enjoying the anger distorting Shigaraki’s facial features. “Or is he just a big coward who’s letting you do the heavy lifting?”

At this point, Shigaraki’s fingernails were dirtied with traces of dried blood, and he had rashes all over his neck.

“You…shut up! You don’t even know Master…don’t talk about him like that!” A few other members inched back, catching on to Shigaraki’s temper. Bakugou was openly gaping at Dazai.

‘Say it, don’t spray it, dude. I can see the spit from here.’

“Hm…but do you know your Master? If it’s his idea to ruin hero society, why’d he let you in on it?”

“Well, I– because he chose me! Master trusts me to do this, and I won’t let him down.”

‘Aha.’

“Have you ever wondered if this Master of yours is using you? I mean, who’d trust someone who can’t even use moisturizer to kidnap 2 students?”

Dabi and Toga ducked their heads down to stifle their laughs.

“Wha–”

“And you couldn’t even get both! How hard could it be to just snatch some stuck-up hero kids in a forest, with only a few pathetic heroes in your way, and the students running around wild with no sense of preservation?!” Dazai tittered.

‘Well, they’d never be able to catch Chibiko anyway. But I might find out their motive to get him…’

Shigaraki’s neck was a fucking lost cause.

“I didn’t even want to get that kid! Master wanted him, not us!”

‘Alright…this Master knows something about us.’

Mr. Compress seemed to take Dazai’s words personally, as he nursed his left hand and spoke up after his leader, “Yeah, the other kid was a fucking savage! He broke my fingers!”

‘Hm…why did he do that?’

Dazai snorted at that statement. “Yeah, sure. Why the hell would that idiot hatrack do that?”

‘Especially in front of some of our classmates… yeah, they’re traumatized. Or, well, more traumatized than before.’

Mr. Compress banged his cane on the ground, startling everyone. He was usually calm and composed, so this was out of character. “Your little ginger boyfriend was fucking losing it when he thought I was holding you hostage! Keep your man on a goddamn leash!”

‘Huh? Me? Chuuya…did all that because he thought that was me? Such a loyal dog.’ Dazai didn’t even notice the smile that spread across his face. “Hm…a leash isn’t such a bad idea…”

“What in the role-play is going on here…,” muttered Dabi, while Bakugou visibly expressed his disgust.

“Ugh, so you and that shortstack really are a thing!”

Dazai shook his head. “No, we’re not. Also, Bakugou, I don’t think you’re in a position to be homophobic right now; stapled fireball over there is giving major closeted emo gay vibes.”

There were so many things packed into that sentence that everyone in the room didn’t respond for a good half a second until they all spoke at once,

“I’M NOT FUCKING HOMOPHOBIC–”

“Closeted emo gay? I’ll have you know I wear my sexuality like a fucking badge of honor–”

“I like this kid! Ugh, can we kill him already?!”

“Stain’s teachings apply to anyone and everyone; he didn't discriminate. I support you guys.”

“Wait, wait, what do you mean you aren’t a thing?”

Mr. Compress’s statement caught everyone’s attention.

‘That’s what everyone shuts up about?’

Dazai tilted his head. “Uh, I would never be with that Slug. End of discussion.”

Toga let out a manic fit of giggles. “Well, if you aren’t going to take him–”

‘Ex–fucking–scuse me?’

“Toga, shut up.” Dabi pulled up a chair and sat down, elbows on his knees, head buried in his hands. The rest of the members crowded around him. “What do you mean, you goddamn mummy?”

‘Are these idiots deaf?’

“It’s just like I said. I don’t know why everyone thinks I’m with him–”

“Well, maybe because you and him are attached at the fucking hip like glue!”

Bakugou snapped, pulling on his chains.

Dabi gestured to the blonde. “Even your classmates ship it, bud. You need to accept the facts.”

‘Okay, these bastards are getting irritating…maybe I shouldn’t have gone in after all.’

“Are you all hard of hearing?” Dazai scowled. “Chibi’s just my dog, end of story.”

“We aren’t asking for details on your freaky pet play.” Dabi seemed to be getting back at Dazai for all those jokes about his face earlier.

Then the brunette with sunglasses spoke for the first time since he had arrived.

“How do you feel about him? Don’t worry, we won’t judge.”

“What? I…well…” Dazai took a moment to think. Everyone waited with bated breath as he racked his brain for a possible excuse.

‘I DON’T like him like that. He’s just a short, stubborn little Chibi with a bleeding heart. Way too forgiving. And way too humane for his own good…why can’t he see that sometimes? Idiot Chibi with his idiot freckles and idiot eyes and idiot smile and idiot caring words…such an idiot. But he’s my idiot.’

“You’re blushing,” the warp thing behind the bar deadpanned. Dazai felt his cheeks grow a bit warmer at that, and willed it to go away.

“No, I’m not. You don’t even have eyes; how can you tell?!”

The adult mutant ninja turtle chuckled, “Young love, huh?”

“Spinner, don’t tease the kid.” The brunette was the only one Dazai liked. “He’s obviously in denial.”

Never fucking mind. Bakugou snickered beside him, forgetting the gravity of the situation.

“Magne’s got a point.” Dabi hummed. “A little brat like you probably can’t even comprehend the concept of someone actually liking you.”

‘Is he salty cuz he isn't getting any?’

“Chuuya doesn’t deserve you!” huffed Toga, crossing her arms. Dazai stilled at that statement.

‘What the fuck did she just say.’

Dazai’s demeanor changed in a heartbeat. His smile was wiped off, shifting into an empty, unreadable look. The mischievous fire in his eyes was extinguished, replaced by an intense dark–brown abyss as he glued his gaze onto the blonde girl.

The air in the room dropped by a few degrees.

“Chuuya is mine.” Dazai hissed, his voice the only thing breaking the tense silence. “If you lay a finger on my possession…I’ll make sure you’ll live to regret it. So watch your words.”

Toga squirmed, her carefree behaviour vanishing as she shifted backwards. Dabi, Mr. Compress, and the warp figure tensed, halfway through a fighting stance, while Shigaraki still mumbled incoherent sentences to himself, scratching the few remains of his skin off.

“Whoa.” Bakugou raised an eyebrow at him. “Chill out; that ginger only has eyes for you, anyway. And why the fuck are we talking about this again?”

There was a pregnant pause.

Then Shigaraki seemed to snap out of whatever trance he was in and started ordering them around.

“Dabi, release them. Both of them.”

“Hah?” Dabi got up from his chair. “No way. That mummy looks like he's gonna strangle us.”

‘Speak about my Chibi again, and I will.’

“Why so suddenly?” asked Spinner.

“Bakugou,” Shigaraki turned to the blonde, “If you join us, you can be free of others’ expectations for you. No more telling you that a hero can’t be so aggressive or outspoken. You can just be yourself, and win all you want.’

‘Why’d he suddenly grow a brain? Or this could be what he was originally going to say before I interrupted him.’

Dazai tried to read Shigaraki’s expression. ‘Well, I think this is targeted towards the sports festival incident, but I don’t think they’re in a position to be saying that when they themselves have also currently chained Bakugou up. Huh. Maybe that’s why he wants to release us…’

Bakugou stayed silent, as if he were actually considering it.

‘Let’s see what you do, Katsuki Bakugou.’

“Someone release him,” Shigaraki snapped, remembering his original motive.

“I'll do it!” Twice volunteered, approaching them. Just as he undid Bakugou’s chains, the teen set off a small explosion, enough to knock a few of them off balance.

‘Heh, he's quite the kid.’

The commotion caused the hand on Shigaraki’s face to fall off.

Everyone remained silent as the man stared at the object on the ground.

Dazai could've sworn he heard the guy say, “Father…?”

“I'll never join you, shitty villains!” Bakugou declared, like he was trying to clear the record. “I'm gonna win just like All Might!”

‘Whoa there, your fanboy is showing.’

“Huh…”

Shigaraki slowly picked up the hand and carefully placed it on his face, and Dazai took notice of how he refrained from putting all five fingers on it at once.

‘That's probably how his quirk is activated. What was it again?’

Dazai snapped his fingers, and his handcuffs fell off.

Everyone in the room gaped openly.

“You could've escaped this whole time?!” exclaimed Magne.

Dazai didn't bother responding; instead, he hurled his cuffs straight at Shigaraki's face.

“Catch.”

Shigaraki’s eyes widened, and he put his palms up in a catching motion, barely managing to grab the metal object before it slammed into his face.

His fingers had automatically gripped the cuffs, and they crumbled to dust right before his eyes.

‘Holy shit…’ Dazai’s jaw dropped. ‘Now THAT… is the easiest way to commit suicide.’

Shigaraki flailed his hands in confusion, while the other members stared at Dazai like he was an idiot.

But Dazai had priorities.

“Mr Shigaraki,” Dazai batted his eyelashes, “I’m sorry for everything.” Shigaraki looked around, unsure of what Dazai was doing. “So, could you please touch me?”

“...”

Shigaraki looked absolutely disgusted, like many in the room.

“Dude,” coughed Spinner, “What could you possibly mean?”

“What the fuck.” Bakugou blinked multiple times, as though trying to wake himself up from a fever dream. “Bandages, what the fuck.”

“What? It’s not that big a deal.” Dazai huffed, glaring at him before turning back to Shigaraki. “Mr. Shigaraki, please–”

“No.”

“...why not?”

“Hah?! What kind of question is that, you brat?! Firstly, it’s the most absurd request ever, and it sounds horrible taken out of context.”

‘Wait…it’s his quirk…it won’t be able to affect me, damnit! Fuck, I hate this.’ Dazai realized this a bit too late, but pouted nonetheless.

He then straightened up immediately, a thought coming to mind. ‘Wait…how in fuck did the warp dude’s quirk work on me when I jumped in? I was definitely touching it when I jumped in…and I know my ability works on quirks…’

“Make sure no one records whatever that mummy said, ok? We ain’t getting cancelled.” Dabi muttered to his colleagues.

“And secondly, you’d fucking die!? Isn’t that obvious?!”

Dazai jolted, snapping out of his thoughts, then opened his mouth to say, ‘That’s the point,’ but was rudely interrupted by a knock at the door, followed by,

“Pizza delivery, from Bungou Store.”

Everyone in the room, Dazai and Bakugou included, spent a good few seconds exchanging looks and mentally questioning, ‘Did you order that shit?’

“Mm, I hope there are no olives,” Dazai whined, shaking his hands.

‘Chibiko isn't here to eat them for me...’

BAM!

The wall crumbled.

“I am here!” announced the Symbol of Peace, with a group of heroes right behind him.

‘Oh shit, it’s a raid.’

__________

Chuuya and Yaoyorozu walked toward the hospital exit, already spotting Kirishima, Todoroki, and Midoriya waiting for them outside.

“We have quite the gang to rescue them,” commented Chuuya.

‘Well, if she decides to do this. In the end, it’s up to her after all.’

“Hm, I guess Bakugou and Dazai are in for a shock.” Yaoyorozu smiled.

‘Oh?’

Chuuya glanced at her. “Does that mean…”

She nodded. He beamed at her,

“Thank you. I…I don’t know what I would’ve done without your help, now and before.”

“Ah, it’s really nothing! I was just helping a fellow friend.”

Chuuya tilted his head. “Friend?”

Yaoyorozu blushed a bit at his unsure tone, looking embarrassed. “Oh, sorry if I got ahead of myself–”

“No, I…consider you my friend too. We’re all in this together, aren’t we?”

Yaoyorozu clearly brightened up at that. “We are.”

They walked through the gates and approached the three waiting for them.

Kirishima was the first to speak. “Yaoyorozu, what's your answer?”

‘Damn. He’s impatient.’

Chuuya recalled how he had been acting not only a day ago. ‘Okay, I can kinda understand that.’

“I…” Yaoyorozu’s answer was interrupted by the appearance of an Iida in the wild.

“Wait!”

‘Oh jeez, man. If he tries to talk us out of it, I’m snatching that tracker from Yaoyorozu and making a run for it.’

Luckily for Chuuya, the speech was a bit targeted at Todoroki and Midoriya, given how they were in the Stain incident together.

‘Oh yeah, didn’t Glasses here try to kill a dude, then didn’t have the balls to go through with it? Wow…’

Then Iida punched Midoriya. ‘Okay, shit got real.’

As the three went back and forth, Chuuya whispered to the girl beside him,

“If they decide not to go…I’m doing this solo. Would you still help?”

Yaoyorozu’s eyes widened, eyebrows shooting up, and she turned to face him. “You…you and Dazai really care about each other, don’t you?”

‘I dunno if I can say the same for him, but…’

“Yes,” Chuuya said, his tone firm. “I’ll save that idiot.” A flicker of confusion showed on Yaoyorozu’s face for a second, but her classic determined expression replaced it.

“I’ll do everything in my power to help you out, Chuuya.”

“Thank you…really.”

“In other words, covert action!” Kirishima snapped them out of it. “That’s the way we students can fight by toeing around the rules!”

“I trust Todoroki and Chuuya,” Yaoyorozu spoke up. Chuuya smiled at her. “I plan to accompany them as well.”

‘Okay, let's fucking go! Our group is getting stronger.’

Iida protested that again, while Kirishima grinned at her.

Midoriya and Iida fell into another round of arguing. After a while, they finally reached an agreement.

‘Okay, so we got me, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Kirishima, Midoriya, and Iida going to rescue them. Hm, not bad.’

As they walked on the sidewalk, Iida apologized to Midoriya and then addressed all of them,

“I am accompanying you because I am not convinced you all will behave yourselves.’

‘Wow.’

“If I get even a whiff of combat, then I will make you return immediately. In other words, you will be under my surveillance. I am a watchman!”

‘Who’s gonna tell him.’ Chuuya scoffed. ‘I can knock this guy unconscious in less than a minute; who’s he fooling? If push comes to shove…’

“I’ll do anything to save Dazai,” Chuuya spoke up. “I don’t care if you’re watching me do it.”

“That’s the spirit!” Kirishima laughed, taking it as a joke. Chuuya ignored him, and Yaoyorozu informed them how her tracker worked.

‘A rescue without combat…these guys are idiots. But I’m desperate…’ He looked up at the starry night sky. ‘Look at what I’ve become, Dazai. When I finally get to you, you’re getting a beating for making me do this.’

…

As Chuuya sat next to Midoriya on the train, he saw the broccoli’s hands trembling.

‘His breathing is shallow…’

“Um, you good, dude?” He whispered. Midoriya flinched, a strong reaction to a simple question.

‘He’s way too on edge…he might freak out later.’

“Calm down, Midoriya. It'll be fine.”

Midoriya took a shaky breath. “Yeah, I know, but I'm worried about Kacchan. What if they did something to him? What if…”

“He's already gone?” Chuuya finished. Midoriya flinched again at his bluntness, and a bead of sweat dripped down his temple.

“I-I mean…yeah. I know I shouldn’t be thinking this, but–”

“That’s not true.”

Midoriya blinked. “Huh?”

“I also…have my doubts. About Dazai. What if he’s dead? What if he’s hurt? All these thoughts, you can’t make them go away.”

Midoriya bit his lip at that and looked down. But Chuuya wasn’t done.

“Kid, the best you can do is have faith. Faith that Bakugou will fight back, and faith in yourself.” Midoriya’s eyes widened at the last part, and his vibrant emerald eyes gleamed with hope.

‘Hope is a beautiful thing…these kids are still so full of life.’

“Chuuya,” Midoriya’s eyes got misty. “Thank you!”

“Oh, uhm, don’t cry, please, it’s nothing, haha…” Chuuya cringed at his awkward tone. “Anyway, have you and Bakugou known each other long?”

Kirishima heard the last part and cut in, “Oh yeah, Midobro and Bakubro kinda act like you and Dazai!”

‘Oh?’

Midoriya flailed his arms at that. “No, I mean yeah, well, we’re…it’s complicated.”

Chuuya might not have been a genius, but even he could tell Midoriya and Bakugou’s relationship was tense. Bakugou seemed to hold some sort of grudge over Midoriya, while the latter continued to treat him with kindness.

Perhaps a sort of rivalry?

“Ohhh…” Chuuya put a hand on his chin. “That’s not the same nature as Dazai and my relationship. And you guys seem to have more…history.”

“Well, Kacchan and I have known each other since childhood.”

Chuuya nodded, humming. “That explains things. No wonder you’re so concerned; he must be like a brother to you.”

Midoriya livened up at that. “Uh–you think so?”

“Kid, I know so.”

“But if they are like brothers,” Todoroki spoke up, “Why do they fight so much?”

Midoriya fell silent at that. Chuuya rubbed his neck, sighing. “Well…sometimes brothers…are complicated. You can have a lot of ups and downs in family relationships…”

‘Veraline.’

Todoroki seemed to understand that and looked out the window, lost in thought.

‘Being the number 2 hero's son must not be all sunshine and rainbows…’

“Oh, do you have siblings, Chuuya?” asked Kirishima.

Chuuya smiled bitterly. “Yeah. There are two people…I consider them my brother and my sister.”

‘Ane-San…I miss her.’

Todoroki noticed his undertone. “Do you not have a good relationship with them?”

“Huh? Oh, nah. My sister’s the best; she taught me a lot. My brother…we’ve had our fair share of fights. What about you guys?”

‘Understatement of the century…’

“I have a sister and a brother,” Todoroki answered curtly.

“I’m an only child!” exclaimed Kirishima.

“I…have an older brother too.” Iida sounded the most somber out of all of them.

‘Oh…isn’t that the one who got attacked by Stain?’

“The lengths we go to for our family…” Iida trailed off.

At that statement, Yaoyorozu hung her head low. Chuuya glanced at her. “Yaoyorozu, do you have any siblings?”

The girl’s eyes widened, and she rushed to answer, “Ah, I’m afraid I’m also an only child.”

Chuuya narrowed his eyes. “I see.”

‘Why’d she lie? Could it be…they’re gone? Or am I reading too much into it?’

“Chuuya…”Midoriya finally snapped out of whatever trance he was in. “Thank you for that. I think…you’re right. Kacchan is the closest thing I have to a sibling…”

Before he knew it, Chuuya’s hand flew to the broccoli’s curls, and he ruffled his hair softly. “Don’t mention it. Dazai’s the closest thing I have to...well, that’s why we’re here. To save them.”

Yaoyorozu perked up at that statement, and her posture relaxed by half a fraction.

‘Seems everyone here was having some doubts…’

Midoriya tensed for a second at Chuuya’s random display of affection, then leaned into the contact. He seemed a bit disappointed when Chuuya, embarrassed by the sudden action he did, pulled his hand back.

As Chuuya continued chatting with them, he was suddenly reminded of something Dazai would always tease him about: ‘Maybe I do have a soft spot for kids…’

…

‘Holy shit, I hate these kids.’

Chuuya was forced to dress up in the most ridiculous outfit he had ever seen.

“I’m not wearing this shit!” he protested, eyeing the hideous fit. It was even worse than the school uniform.

“We need to blend in!” hissed Todoroki, shoving the clothes toward him. “Just do it! For Dazai.”

‘That’s low. Damnit!’

“Ugh, fine. But know that if it weren’t for the mission, I’d rather be caught dead than wear that shit.” Of course Todoroki had to pick out the colors that clashed the most.

‘What would Dazai say if he saw me in this? Wait, he IS going to see me in this! Goddamnit!’

As he stepped outside the changing booth, he noticed the rest had actually decent clothes on.

‘...I hate this.’

“Hey Yaoyorozu,” he addressed her when they were out of the store. “Could you…maybe make me a cap or something? The ones in the store were worse than I thought…”

The girl giggled, readying her quirk. “All right, Chuuya.”

Chuuya watched as an area on her arm sparkled and she pulled a cap out of it in no time.

“Whoa.”

‘The colors and the process…kinda reminds me of Dazai’s ability…so beautiful.’

She handed it to him with a grin. “Here.”

He thanked her, but as he took the cap and actually got a good look at it, he noticed the logo.

‘Why is it a goddamn fish?!’

Chuuya sighed. This day sucked.

‘But it can’t possibly get WORSE, right?’

The next thing he knew, he was crammed into a narrow alleyway with his classmates.

‘I fucking jinxed it.’

They were trying to find a way into the League’s hideout, but it proved difficult to do so while trying not to run into them.

‘Can I just demolish this building, dude?’

“Will we be able to see anything in this darkness?” Todoroki squinted.

“Oh, I can make a night vision scope–” Yaoyorozu readied her quirk.

‘Damn, that quirk is useful.’

“No, wait,” Kirishima cut in, digging in his pockets. “I already brought one with me…”

“Wow, why?” questioned Midoriya.

‘I dunno, maybe because he knows how to plan? The why doesn’t matter, damnit!’

Chuuya fidgeted impatiently; they were right there, Dazai was right there, but these guys were arguing about the cost of fucking goggles!

“We don’t have time! I’ll tear down the damn wall.” The ginger put his palms on the wall in front of him, but Todoroki pulled him back.

“Chuuya, no.”

‘Motherfu–’

“Why the fuck not?”

Iida answered for him. “We have to be patient–”

“I am fucking patient, damnit! I’ve been patient, rotting in a hospital bed for two days!” Chuuya whispered-yelled, “Who knows what they’ve done to Dazai!? He’s right there, but I can’t even do anything!”

A few beats of silence passed after Chuuya’s outburst, the only sound being his heavy breathing.

‘Uh…damn.’

Chuuya bit the inside of his cheek, trying to calm himself down.

‘Fuck, I just had to do that…’

Midoriya was the first to speak. “Chuuya…we’re all worried about them. And you’re right, it’s frustrating just to sit even though we came here for a reason. But I’m sure if we just scope the place out using Kirishima’s goggles, we can check it out. So please, just wait a bit more.”

‘...They really do grow up so fast…’

Chuuya took a few deep breaths. “You’re right. I’m sorry, guys. I…I’ll try to be better.”

“Then, Kirishima and Chuuya, you guys can look through the goggles.” Todoroki said, “Iida and I can carry you on our shoulders.”

“Wait, Chuuya,” Kirishima turned to the boy. “Are you sure you can see when you’re on Todoroki’s shoulder?”

‘Been a while since I’ve heard that…usually Dazai is the one poking at my height. But I’m not letting that shit slide, though!’

“I’m not that short!” Chuuya huffed. “And why can’t I just float? No need for you guys to help.”

“Okay, then I’ll carry Midoriya,” Todoroki responded.

A familiar red glow enveloped Chuuya, and he slowly climbed the wall, peeking his head out. Next to him, Kirishima, perched on Iida’s shoulders, looked through his goggles and nearly fell off in shock.

‘Damn, he looks terrified. What could be in there?’ Next, Midoriya looked through them and reacted similarly.

‘Okay, what could POSSIBLY be in there?’

Finally, Chuuya got his turn. He grabbed the goggles and hurriedly pressed his eyes against them.

‘...Holy shit.’

It was a lab full of Nomus, all of them in the creation stage. There were hundreds of them, all artificially made.

‘But who? And why? I have to tell Dazai this–’

BAM!

They all snapped their heads toward the sound, and Chuuya saw a huge lady stomp onto the building.

“Mount Lady!” Midoriya exclaimed, getting off Todoroki’s shoulders. Kirishima followed suit. “Gang Orca! Best Jeanist! They came to rescue Kacchan and Dazai!”

‘Uhm, those names are…unique.’

They all listened in on Mount Lady’s complaints and the conversation between the Pro Heroes.

“The Heroes already came for them! We can fall back.” Iida looked pleased and started to shift toward the end of the alleyway.

Everyone followed suit, but Chuuya faltered, a bit uncertain.

He felt that familiar feeling, the one before everything went inexplicably south. Tingly goosebumps under his skin, his heart beating rapidly, and nervous sweat dripping down his forehead.

‘Something’s wrong.’

Midoriya seemed to notice it too, as he paused and looked back at the site.

‘But what’s going on? Is this a trap–’

BOOM!

A cold, unforgiving air mingled with the smoke, and all six of them froze under the sudden tension upon them.

‘Huh?’

Some were shaking, others numb with terror, but all recognized the danger in an instant.

‘What…who?’

“Tomura finally started making decisions for himself…” an eerie voice spoke, echoing through the ruins. “I wish you hadn’t gotten in his way…”

Chuuya saw Yaoyorozu close to tears, Todoroki’s eyes shut tight, and Midoriya’s seemed to be holding back his nausea.

‘Who the fuck is this guy? His spirit…is giving us hallucinations of death…’

“Now…let’s begin.”

Chuuya didn’t miss the faint muttering from Midoriya’s mouth, but he recognized only one term.

“All…For…One…”

Chuuya bit his tongue, trying not to react.

‘Is that…the true leader of the League of Villains?’

Chuuya gulped.

‘Dazai, what have we gotten ourselves into?’

Notes:

So I kinda realized that some parts in the conversation between the LOV and Dazai is kinda sexualizing for teens, like the "pet play" and "leash" part...I just wanna clarify that Dazai and Chuuya ARE 18 in this fic, and are posing as 16 yr olds. Also Im hugely basing 90% of the conversations between people here off of MY experiences with teens and in real life so plz dont misunderstand.

Also whoaaa crazy how I kinda mentioned some Stormbringer shi when I said I dunno much about it...uh I am 90% sure about that part tho

No, I will NOT elaborate on the gay Dabi joke.

And I hope I won't get slimed out for showing a bit of brotherly Bakugou and Deku :P

Okay why did NO ONE tell me the HARDEST part abt writing is the canon timelines.
I REwatched MHA in like May, when it ended.
I WATCHED BSD like a month ago(for the first time, yes. And somehow THATS the anime that gets me to write fics...idk skk is magic.)
I had to literally keep on watching the same 3 MHA eps about training camp arc to make it fit and shi like broo it was so annoying

Anyway, enjoy the agonizing wait for CH6. Peace

(edit 2 days after)- WHOAAA guys I open my account to see a horde of amazing comments, 1000 hits and 100 kudos!? Damn, Christmas came early. Thank you all so much!
