Chapter Text
Misha’s first schoolweek was in total one day long. Her first day was on Thursday and yesterday she woke up with yellow eyes, resulting in Tony calling her in sick.
Misha walks into the kitchen looking up at the clock saying it’s 10 am. Tony is standing by the counter mixing something in a bowl.
“What are you making?”
“Pancakes, figured that’s a breakfast you might enjoy.” He shrugs and keeps mixing. Misha looks at him with studying eyes. There’s something up with him that he is trying to cover up with pancakes.
Misha doesn’t say anything until they are sitting on either side of the new kitchen table.
“So what have you done?” She says and takes a bite of her pancake.
“What do you mean?”
“Somethings off and you’re trying to distract me with pancakes.”
“Damn spies.” Tony mutters. He thought it was bad to have Natasha around seeing everything, but now he lives with a spy just as good if not better. “Alright. You remember Pepper? I think you met her once.”
“I do.”
“Well we had some issues and went on a break and now we are talking about her moving in again, but since I now have a child to take care of I have to consider your opinion and I thought the pancakes would get you in a good mood.” Tony says, not even trying to deny anything.
“Smart. These are good pancakes, I will give you that.” Misha says. “And I don’t mind having Pepper around if that’s what you want.” Not bothering the man is one of her top priorities after all so saying no wasn’t really in the cards.
“Thank you.”
“I was wondering something though. Now that I have powers and a trained assassin maybe it’s finally time for me to join the av-”
“No.” Tony says firmly, no space to disagree.
“Why not?”
“Nat didn’t want that life for you and she trusted me to keep you safe. Does fighting international level threats, even universal level threats, sound safe to you?”
“I guess not.”
“Case closed.”
“Can’t you let me be like a small level threat avenger then? Like Peter?”
“Still no.”
“At least let me spar with him before you say no.”
“Fine. If you train with Peter and I deem you good enough to stay safe out there I will consider it.”
“Fine. Thanks for the pancakes.” Misha says. This conversation didn’t go great but it could’ve been worse, so a small smirk is plastered on her face as she walks to her room. She could do this, right?
Peter comes to the compound in the afternoon, Happy, looking as miserable as ever, driving him.
“Hi, Misha!” He says as he walks through the doors. “You weren’t at school yesterday?”
“I found out I have powers kinda, so I didn’t make it there no.” She answers, not bothering on details.
“Damn, that’s cool.”
“Peter, you ready for some training?” Tony says walking towards them.
“Yes, Mr. Stark.”
“I know you haven’t really done training here before but basically you and Misha will do some combat sparring, no weapons, no suit.” Peter nods and Tony starts leading them down the stairs, into the basement where the compound gym is located.
Peter and Misha walk onto the soft mat, covering part of the floor, made to be able to hit the ground more comfortably. Peter is wearing grey sweatpants and a star wars t-shirt, while Misha is in shorts and a tanktop.
“Okay. If you feel acid on her skin, stop immediately, tap twice on the floor or each other to signal stop. I think that’s all. Ready?” Peter nods, prepared for an easy fight since he is incredibly strong and agile compared to most people and he doesn’t know Misha’s whole history. Sure, he notices that she looks pretty lean, but probably no match to him. Misha nods as well, fully focused to bring this man to the floor.
“Go” Misha immediately swings herself around Peter, who loses his balance and falls front down to the floor with her straddling him and quickly grabbing both his hands and pinning them against his back.
“What the hell?” He mumbles against the floor as Misha lets him go and stands up.
“You weren’t prepared for that?” She asks, leaning her head slightly to the side.
They kept sparring and out of ten rounds, Misha won nine. Peter won one with pure strength. Misha had miscalculated her attack slightly, giving him enough room to press her to the floor. Tony quickly realised that it would be hard to deny her request after this. She had after all proved herself incredibly good in battle.
He just didn’t feel ready to let her sacrifice herself like that yet.
