Chapter Text
Inn takes Ongsa to lunch at an outdoor restaurant, a beautiful spot with wooden tables set among lush greenery and hanging lanterns. The menu is filled with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Inn orders for them, choosing grilled river prawns with garlic butter, a delicate pomelo salad with crispy shallots, and a rich, fragrant curry that Ongsa can't identify but immediately loves.
When the drinks arrive, they're just as exotic. A bright, amber-colored cocktail with a name Ongsa amusedly tries and fails pronounce, garnished with a twist of lemongrass and a single edible flower.
Ongsa eats heartily, moaning around his first bite of prawn, his eyes closing in bliss. "This is incredible."
Inn watches him, amused. "You're a foodie, aren't you?"
"Now I am," Ongsa says, grinning. "You've ruined me for regular food forever."
Inn chortles, a sound that makes Ongsa's stomach flip.
They eat and talk, and for a while, conversation still coming easily like they've known each other much longer than a day. Even when they’re silent, it’s not awkward.
Inn's phone suddenly rings. He glances at the screen and sighs. "I'm sorry. It's my assistant."
He takes the call, stepping away from the table, and Ongsa watches him as he talks. Inn's voice is serious, matching the look on his face as he discusses something work-related. He places his free hand in his pants pocket, his posture shifting into that authoritative mode again.
When the call ends, Inn returns to the table, looking more relaxed again and with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that."
"You work a lot, huh?" Ongsa says around a bite of food.
"That's the reality of owning a business." Inn reaches for his glass of water.
"Must affect your social life."
Inn nods slowly. "I haven't seen my friends in a while."
"And love?" Ongsa asks, the question slipping out before he can put a filter between his intrusive thoughts and his mouth. And since the question is already out there, he goes with it. "Is there room for that?"
Inn pauses, dragging out the first word of his answer. "Nooot necessarily."
Ongsa stares at him, genuinely surprised. "Not even that? Aren't you lonely?"
"I date from time to time. Nothing serious in a while, but I put myself out there."
“Are you looking for something serious?”
“It wouldn’t hurt.”
“Then you create the time.”
Inn smiles in this way that seems to imply that Ongsa is being naïve, making a remark like that. What he says next supports it. “In university it’s easier to prioritize love. Everyone lives in the same space with one goal in life- get good grades, graduate and find gainful employment. Life after that isn’t as straightforward. Dating gets more complicated among working class people with two different workplaces, different careers, different goals and different walks of life.”
“If you’re a go-getter at work, growing your business with such passion, then you can make a relationship happen if you really want it.”
Inn doesn’t say anything because it seems Ongsa has him there. Ongsa smiles to himself, taking it as a win in their little debate.
Ongsa studies Inn and asks. "How old are you, uncle?"
Inn smiles a little at that, tilting his head. "Why do you ask?"
Ongsa shrugs one shoulder, trying to look casual. "Just curious."
Inn considers him for a moment, then says, "I'm twenty-nine. Are you going to tell me to settle down already? You wouldn't be the first one."
Twenty nine isn’t that much older at all in Ongsa’s opinion. In fact, it just makes Inn so much hotter. He makes Ongsa's heart race so much.
And Ongsa is starting to realize that this weekend might be more complicated than he thought.
^^^
After lunch, they go to a private wine bar. The interior is stunning, all dark wood and warm lighting, like stepping back in time to an old-world tavern. There are shelves lined with dusty bottles stretch from floor to ceiling, and the bar itself is a long, polished slab of mahogany.
Soft jazz is playing from hidden speakers, and the place smells of oak and aged grapes.
Ongsa's eyes are wide, looking around as they walk in. "This place is incredible." He’s also referring to the beautiful landscape surrounding outside the establishment.
Inn smiles, guiding him toward the bar. "I'm glad you like it."
The owner, a distinguished man with a neatly trimmed beard, comes over to greet Inn personally. Inn introduces Ongsa, and the owner shakes his hand warmly, clearly curious about the young man accompanying his most valued customer.
They're served exclusively with a flight of wines for Inn, and a selection of snacks that arrive on small, elegant plates. The owner explains each wine as he pours, and Ongsa listens, fascinated even though he doesn't understand half of what's being said.
At one point, Inn notices a beer list and glances at Ongsa. "Would you like to try their beer? They have a local craft selection."
Ongsa nods eagerly. "Yes, please."
When the beer arrives, Ongsa takes a sip and hums approvingly. He pushes the glass toward Inn. "You should try it."
Inn raises an eyebrow. "I'm not much of a beer person."
"Just a sip. For me?"
Inn sighs, the ghost of a smile on his lips, and takes a small sip. He makes a face, an unfiltered grimace, and Ongsa bursts out laughing.
"It's fine," Ongsa says, still giggling. "Wine suits you better. You have the sophistication for it."
"For your information," Inn says, reaching for his wine glass to wash the taste away, "you seem like a wine kind of guy too."
Ongsa blinks. "Me?"
Inn nods, taking a sip of wine. He swallows, then says, "You have a… princely air about you."
Ongsa's cheeks flush. "Really? Thank you." He pauses, then asks, "Are these the places you hang out at?"
"More or less."
"Wow. And I just go to pizza joints at the mall."
Inn smiles. "There's nothing wrong with pizza at the mall."
"This isn't too shabby either." Ongsa takes another sip of his beer.
"What's your favorite pizza topping?" Inn asks
"It's gotta be pepperoni and jalapeños."
Inn nods. "I like that too. Especially with truffle oil and arugula."
Ongsa stares at him. "You eat pizza?"
"Yes? Why is that surprising? I'm human too, you know." Inn chuckles. "I admit it's been a while, but I liked it. Especially when playing video games."
"Do you still play?"
Inn shakes his head. "Can't find the time."
"What hobbies do you have time for?"
Inn shakes his head again, and Ongsa frowns.
"You're too young to give all your life away to work."
"Twenty-nine is barely young."
"It's just a number." Ongsa considers him for a moment, then says, "In fact, I think I'll stop calling you uncle now. You're now Phi. My P'Inn."
Inn's eyebrows rise slightly at the emphasis on my. "Your P'Inn, huh?"
Ongsa blushes and looks away, suddenly very interested in his beer.
^^^
By the time they leave, Ongsa is a little tipsy. He stumbles when he stands, giggling, and Inn is immediately at his side, a steadying hand on his elbow.
"Got a bit carried away," Ongsa says, smiling up at him cutely.
Inn smiles back, unable to help himself.
Ongsa leans against him as they walk, and with Inn this close, he can smell his cologne. Ongsa inhales deeply, then asks, "Are you wearing one of your own perfumes?"
Inn nods. "I have to endorse my own product."
They reach the car, and Inn helps Ongsa into the back seat before joining him. Ongsa sighs tiredly and leans against Inn, who looks at him, surprised by how comfortable Ongsa is with him. But he doesn't pull away.
Ongsa snuggles closer, turning his nose toward Inn's shoulder, his neck, his jaw. He sniffs, then whispers, "You smell so nice, Phi."
Inn stays still, swallowing thickly, as Ongsa's nose presses against his skin. Ongsa continues to snuggle sleepily, whining softly until he finally settles and falls asleep.
Inn doesn't move, just barely breathes, like something will come undone if he does. His heart is pounding. Once Ongsa is settled, Inn glances down at him and a smile touches his lips at how sweet Ongsa looks in sleep.
^^^
By the time they reach Inn's property, Ongsa has sobered up for the most part. Inn wants to give him a quick tour of the orchard, so they walk through the rows of fruit trees. The sun is just beginning to set.
They explore the orchard together, row by row. Ongsa asks questions, takes selfies, and even invites Inn to join him in a few. When they look at the pictures, for a moment, they're both amazed by how good they look together.
It’s a wordless realization that they don’t discuss or anything.
Inn plucks a grape from a vine and holds it out to Ongsa, who deliberately keeps his hands at his sides.
"My hands are dirty. I touched the earth back there." Ongsa says, a playful glint in his eye. "Can you feed it to me?"
Inn hesitates for only a second before bringing the grape to Ongsa's lips. Ongsa keeps eye contact as he eats it, making a small, satisfied moaning sound that makes Inn's ears go red.
“So good.” Ongsa says while chewing and still looking directly into Inn’s eyes.
Inn knows flirting when he sees it. At this point he should probably shut it down, but does he?
Nope.
They continue like that, Ongsa asking to sample this and that, and Inn feeding it to him. Inn could take Ongsa to a tap to wash his hands, but he doesn't. He likes feeding him. There's a familiarity and intimacy to it that they both like, even if they don't say it out loud.
^^^
After freshening up, they have a small, simple dinner made by Inn's private chef, then go to watch a movie in Inn's indoor theater.
The theater is cozy, with plush reclining seats and a large screen. They sit close, snacks between them, but barely watch the movie because they're too busy talking. They just never seem to run out of things to talk about.
They certainly don’t get enough of each other’s attention.
Inn pours them each a glass of wine and hands one glass to Ongsa.
"This house is incredible," Ongsa says. "I know already said it but…” Ongsa shrugs with a shy smile, “It’s nice. Why did you choose it?"
Inn swirls his wine, considering the question. "I wanted space….privacy. Somewhere I could breathe after a long day. The city is... loud and so…busy. This place feels like an escape."
Ongsa nods, understanding. "It does feel like an escape. Like a different world." He pauses, then adds, "It would be a dream come true to live here."
Inn stops and looks at Ongsa, thinking about the weight of what he just said; wondering if Ongsa even realizes how huge that admission is. A dream come true to live here.
Before Inn can think carefully, before he can talk himself out of it, he speaks. "Don't leave for good on Monday," he says. "Come by and visit. When you want."
Ongsa's eyes widen, surprise and excitement on his face now. "Really, Phi? Can I?"
"I'd love to have you."
Ongsa grins. "Then never mind if I get comfortable and show up every other weekend."
Inn smiles. "You're welcome to."
"Thanks, Phi." Ongsa's voice softens. "This has been amazing. I won't forget it.” A pause. “Or you."
Their gazes remain locked as tension begins to brew again between them, that magnetism. Ongsa's gaze drops to Inn's lips, then back up. Inn feels the pull too that's been building since the moment they met, and he knows he should look away, change the subject, do anything but lean closer.
He leans closer anyway, and closes the remaining space between them and presses his lips to Ongsa's. He presses his lips softy against Ongsa’s plump lips, lingering and enjoying discovering how soft they are. Inn lingers for only a heartbeat before he pulls back, his eyes squeezing shut.
"Wait…no. I shouldn’t," he whispers.
"Why not?" Ongsa's voice is breathless, looking into Inn’s eyes with such yearning. He didn’t expect to get a kiss tonight, but now that he’s had a tiny taste, he wants so much more. And he’s going to have it.
Inn can practically see that determination in Ongsa’s eyes when he says, "It's obvious you want me, Phi."
Ongsa doesn't wait for an answer. He leans in and captures Inn's lips with his own, pressing forward until their mouths slot together. Inn makes a small sound- part protest, part surrender- and then he stops resisting.
His hand comes up to cup the side of Ongsa's neck, thumb brushing along his jaw. He tilts his head and takes Ongsa's lower lip between both of his, tugging gently, dragging his teeth over the plush skin. Ongsa gasps, and Inn uses the opening to slide his tongue forward, tracing the seam of Ongsa's lips before dipping inside.
Ongsa's mouth is warm and tastes of red wine and his own sweetness. Inn licks into him slowly, , stroking his tongue along Ongsa's before pulling back just enough to suck on his upper lip. Ongsa whimpers, his fingers curling into the fabric of Inn's shirt, pulling him closer.
Inn deepens the kiss, angling his head to get better access. His tongue sweeps through Ongsa's mouth, exploring, tasting, and demanding- taking and giving pleasure. He licks behind Ongsa's teeth, then drags his tongue along the roof of his mouth. Ongsa shudders, his knees going weak.
At the back of his mind, Inn is thinking either Ongsa adapts and learns fast or he’s had a lot of kissing practice. Because he’s the sweetest kisser Inn has ever had.
Inn's other hand finds Ongsa's waist, fingers splaying wide over his hip, then sliding around to the small of his back. He pulls Ongsa against him, and the contact makes them both groan- chest to chest, hip to hip, the heat between them insane.
Ongsa's hands slide up from Inn's chest to his shoulders, then around his neck. His fingers curl into the short hair at Inn's nape and tug, just a little, just enough to make Inn growl against his mouth.
They break apart for air, both panting. Ongsa's lips are red and swollen, his eyes dark and dazed. Inn stares at him, his chest heaving.
“Where did you learn how to kiss like that?” Inn asks, but doesn’t wait for an answer. He dives back in.
This kiss is hungrier. He takes Ongsa's mouth like he's starving for it, lips moving hard and insistent. He catches Ongsa's lower lip between his teeth and bites down gently, then soothes the sting with his tongue. Ongsa moans, lost, drunk and desperate.
Inn's hands slide down Ongsa's back, over the curve of his ass, gripping firmly. He pulls Ongsa onto his lap, guiding him to straddle his lap, so they can be closer, grinding their hips together. The friction makes Ongsa gasp, his head tipping back, exposing the long line of his throat.
Inn doesn't waste the opportunity. He presses his lips to Ongsa's jaw, then trails down to his neck. He licks a hot stripe along the tendon, then sucks gently on the sensitive skin just below his ear. Ongsa whimpers, his fingers tightening in Inn's hair.
"P'Inn," he breathes.
Inn groans at the sound of his name on Ongsa's lips. He pulls back, breathing hard, his forehead pressed to Ongsa's.
Ongsa looks up at him, eyes wide and glassy. "Are you stopping now?" Inn teases, his voice rough. "After being a naughty, tempting little thing? I'm not letting you go anywhere now."
He kisses Ongsa again, softer this time, taking Ongsa's upper lip between his, sucking gently, then licks into his mouth with slow strokes. Ongsa's hands slide down to Inn's chest, fingers curling into his shirt, holding on like he's afraid to let go.
They kiss until their lips are bruised and until Ongsa is hard and aching, his hips jerking involuntarily against Inn's, hiding his hips. They kiss until the world around them this room ceases to exist.
Then Inn pulls back abruptly and turns away, breathing hard, trying to calm down.
"We can't go any further," he says, his voice wrecked. "So we should stop now."
Ongsa stares at him, breathing hard, his lips red and swollen. He can feel Inn’s hardness against his own. He cups Inn's face between his palms. “Why?”
“Your uncle entrusted you with me, told me to look after you, not…this.”
“I’m a grown man.”
“Still. I know Peak. He won’t appreciate it. He sees you as his precious little brother.”
"Then he never has to know," Ongsa says softly. He shrugs one shoulder. "This doesn't have to be forever. Just while I'm here. This weekend."
Inn looks at Ongsa again and swallows hard, "What are you saying, Ongsa?"
Ongsa looks deep into Inn's eyes with a bravery and boldness that Inn only wishes he had. "You want me and I want you. Monday is another day. We won't even have to talk about it if you want." He pauses, then adds, "But tonight, make love to me, P'Inn."
Inn stares at him, his heart pounding so hard he can hear it in his ears.
Ongsa nods encouragingly.
They stand up, Inn takes Ongsa’s hand and leads him to the bedroom.
