Chapter Text
Harry:
I yawned, while Hermes was wide awake, typing on his computer. “What are you doing?” I asked him sleepily.
“I’m journaling.”
“On your computer?”
“Just in my Notes app.”
“But how are you not sleepy? Bro, we’ve had two flights and now we’re in this really comfortable Uber…I’m literally about to fall asleep this second.”
“I don’t know. I’ll probably conk out later tonight.”
“Oh, what time is it in Madison?”
“Uh…My watch hasn’t adjusted yet. It says it’s midnight back home...is that 5 or 6 pm here? I always forget when America has Daylight Savings Time,”
I looked out the window, seeing the Madison city vibes fade to the wilderness of…well, wherever we were going. The weird thing was for me, I had never traveled outside of the United Kingdom. Hermes had; Ron (who was currently asleep) had. But experiencing jet lag, and for the first time, was brutal. Why was the sky light? Why couldn’t all countries just use the same time?
“Harry, all countries can’t use the same time because of the sun. Are you stupid. Genuinely, did you learn anything from Astronomy?” I guess Hermes can read my thoughts now, or I probably just said it aloud. I mean, I am the main character…
“Harry…you’re not the main character…I am!” Hermes transformed into Voldemort.
“What the fuck,” I said. I screamed, jumping out of the car, but he still followed me. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to go but down, and we were on a bridge - so there was only water. I jumped, and then I woke up. I quickly breathed a sigh of relief.
Ron started shaking me. “We’re here!!” he said.
Ranma:
I was admiring all the equipment on the plane. “It just…floats!” I said.
Akane scoffed. “Ranma, no. Have you heard of..physics?”
“I mean, yeah…you know…not really…I think we covered it a bit in school?”
“I know the main focus is magic, but think back to science…”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re acting like I’m one of those dumb British kids at Pigwarts or whatever that don’t get a real education past like what, 5th grade? I heard they don’t even learn, like, math or whatever.”
“Ranma, I know you learn math now, but you can honestly not be talking - your dad barely glossed over math.”
“Yeah, but at least I take it now and don’t go to a crappy school where they only learn magic. Plus, I heard they get attacked by this strange guy with no nose a lot. Can he even smell? Just make a scent potion or something so everyone gets good luck, you know, Felix Felicis? Could you make that a scent potion? I’m not sure…”
Akane slowly turned her plastic water bottle’s cap. “Oh shoot, I think it’s going to-” Cold water got all over both of us.
“Fucking shit, Akane!” I screamed in my girl voice.
“Miss? Please don’t use that foul language around my children,” yelled an angry mom. Her kids couldn’t’ve been older than seven or so, and they looked obsessed with their tablets. Maybe since I’m a girl I can get away with it… I thought.
“Oh! Sorry ma’am!” I smiled. “I promise not to do it again!” She grumbled and went back to typing on her laptop.
“The seatbelt sign is on,” said an automated voice.
“Ranma, I think that means we’re almost there!” said Akane. “Uhh, we better turn you back to boy Ranma before immigration and customs…you do not look like your passport photo…”
