Chapter Text

Wednesday, February 14 (Valentine’s Day)

Valentine’s Day was exciting and slightly nerve-wracking. Hoseok had gotten up early to make chocolates for Yoongi, waking a sleepy and hungover Namjoon up, who quickly forgave him because he thought what he was doing was adorable. Yoongi and Hoseok had planned a dinner date, Namjoon and Seokjin a coffee date. Seokjin had insisted they would go to a cafe outside of the school district, which meant it would be more fancy, more expensive. After Hoseok had put the chocolates in the fridge, he and Namjoon helped each other pick outfits. Both of them played it safe: Namjoon wearing a graphic tee and jeans, and Hoseok opting for a cream turtleneck and black skinny jeans. When Seokjin came to pick Namjoon up, he handed him a bouquet of red roses in the doorway, which made Namjoon blush and Hoseok squeal. They left, and Hoseok got the only vase they owned out and put the roses in it. He tried to distract himself until it was time for his own date, playing games on his phone and even trying to read one of Namjoon’s European books, but he couldn’t focus on anything. When it was finally almost time, he put his chocolates in a pretty, heart-shaped box with a bow on top, finishing at the same time that Yoongi arrived. When the older boy saw what Hoseok had prepared for him, he scrunched up his face in adoration, and smiled so wide his gums were showing and his eyes turned into crescents.

Jungkook woke up that morning to two voices singing directly into his ears. It took him a while to wake up properly, to realize where he was and, more importantly, with who. The bed was an even bigger mess of limbs and sheets than it had been the night before. Their legs were intertwined and their arms wrapped tightly around each other. The youngest opened his eyes and saw Jimin’s face, smiling at him fondly, and when he turned his head, Taehyung was on the other side, smiling just as wide. The three of them shared a few careful, soft kisses at first, smiling against each other’s lips. But the kisses became deeper, more intimate and intense as they explored each other’s mouths, faces and necks with their tongues. They stayed in bed for a while without really saying much, running their hands through each other’s hair, kissing, whispering pet names and sweet confessions in each other’s ears. When they finally got up it was almost noon, so they went to the bakery for a big brunch, wiping whipped cream and powdered sugar off of each other’s faces with big smiles. The afternoon was wasted away in Jungkook’s dorm room again, playing video games, sharing warm cuddles and kisses. In the evening they decided to go on their first date: to a cheap ramyun restaurant, and after that to the arcade. They laughed, held hands, stole quick kisses when they thought nobody was looking. Taehyung won all three of them a stuffed animal, Jungkook beat them on almost all the games, and Jimin smiled and laughed the whole time, despite his losses. And, although they didn’t have a clue where they would end up, or what name they should put on this, on them, they didn’t really care. They were young, happy, and in love. And that was enough.
