Your name is Sollux Captor and you've got one hell of a problem, a four foot tall problem named Eridan Ampora. You know you like him, that's all fine and dandy, but you're still not quite sure how to actually deal with this. The real problem though is that you don't know if he likes you, if he doesn't though you might have a rebound. Eden's kinda cute really reminds you of Eridan and you really shouldn't be thinking about her like that. And even if Eridan likes you who's to say you actually want a relationship with him? It's happened before and it could be happening now. You really need to ask someone for advice but you're not sure who.
You think on it for a while and the only people you even sorta know who's in a relationship are Jade's brother, Rose, and Kanaya. You're sure the latter would tell at least one person in your group something and you don't need more people knowing, so you end up going with Jake. You barely know the guy though and the only place he could be is Karkat's dorm, but if he's not there you don't wanna have to explain it to Karkat. You instead choose to Pester Jade about where he is, which totally isn't creepy.

TA: Harley, quick question, where's your brother rn?
GG: Why do you wanna know?
TA: I need to ask him an important question
GG: What's the question? I could pass it on for you
TA: I'd rather you not know
GG: He's over at Dirks house, I can give you a ride if you want
TA: Thanks I really appreciate this
GG: No problem, hope he helps you out
It only takes Jade a few minutes to pick you up, thankfully Dirk lives relatively close to campus so it takes less than fifteen minutes to get there. "Okay so his apartment numbers 34, good luck."
"Why're you wishing me luck?"
"Dirk can be...a bit bad at socialize and honestly so's Jake," she pauses before leaning out the drivers window a bit more
"I'm sure they can't be worse than me, also no need to wait here for me I'll take the bus back." It doesn't take you long to find Dirks apartment, and when he answers the door you can't really see inside. You think he's doing that on purpose.
"Oh hey, you're that guy by brother's friends with."
"Yup that's me."
"Okay, what're you doing at my house?" before you can actually respond Jake calls out something "It's nobody! Now what do you want?"
"I need to ask you a sorta important question."
Dirk sighs "Okay, hurry up though I'm busy right now." you've got your doubts about that but you try to keep it brief anyways.
"How'd you know you wanted a relationship with Jake?" His eyebrows raise above his shades and he pales a bit. "If you don't wanna tell me that's fine." You've barely got the sentence out before he tells you to wait there, and you do, for what feels like forever.
"Sorry, that took a minute, come on in." his apartment is sorta messy, so you're not sure what he was doing just a second ago "So...you wanna know how I got with Jake right? I've got no clue really."
"How don't you know? The two of you are dating right?"
"Well yeah, but before we were I didn't really think about relationships much. I knew Jake seemed to want more with me but I wasn't totally sure what I wanted until he talked to me about it."
"Seriously? So you just stumbled into a relationship?"
"That's a load of bull Dirk," Jake quickly inserts himself into this conversation "You once asked me if I would ever consider dating you, and I said yes. I only brought it up because it was sorta clear that if I didn't neither of us would." Dirk flushes a heavy red "It took him forever to ask me out after I brought up the conversation, it was actually a bit cute how he acted about the whole thing.
"Jake, you don't gotta tell him all this, I only really thought about our relationship once you brought it up. I just got to a point after that where I had to think about what I wanted from this," he gestures wildly between himself and Jake. "Listen kid, you've just gotta really think about what you want from this other person, and whether your ready to actually commit to it."
"Thanks for the help, I'm sorry for bugging you." They both assure you it's okay but you don't miss the way Jake seems to perk up when you leave.
