Chapter Text
Jin thought it was just a dream. But now that the members and managers are claiming that they saw small version of themselves, and also this letter from a kid called Jinnie, he realizes it might be a reality after all. The memory is a little fuzzy, but he still remembers it. He still doesn’t get how this could happen, but it did. Maybe parallel universes do exist, and when he fell, did he fell into the wrong universe? It doesn’t make sense, but this is the only explanation he could think of.
It was a nice weather today. So when Jin finished their choreography practice today, he decided to take a walk to a nearby café alone to buy himself and the members some drinks. He thought it wouldn’t take a long time, and since the café is really near, he figured that he didn’t need to tell the managers as he didn’t see any of them on the way out anyway. Everything was just fine, like it was supposed to. After he had gotten his orders, he stepped out of the café, smiling as he imagined the faces of the members when they see what he had brought them. He imagined hearing “Wahhh… Jin-hyung you’re the best!” from the kids or maybe Yoongi just mumbling a ‘thank you’. He was about to head back to the practice room, hoping that the members hadn’t left, when he saw a limping puppy walking by. He gasped at the sight of blood, it seemed that the puppy had gotten into an accident and ran away. Just when he was about to reach out to the hurt creature in front of him, the puppy ran away. “Wait!” he shouted out, running for the puppy. Even with its limping leg, the puppy sure ran fast.
Jin ran through small alleys with the puppy. When he was running down the slippery stairs, he slipped and fell. And then it was dark.
“Do you think he’s dead?” Jin heard voices around him. ‘Am I dead?’ he thought to himself. “No, he’s not.” Another kid said. “But he’s hurt.” Another voice, trembling, like the kid was about to cry. Jin began to feel small fingers poking his face and all over his body. “Maybe we should do the chest thing? We beat his chest till he wake up?” a kid said, followed by a slap onto his chest. “Pour water on him?”
“We don’t have water.”
“Maybe if we spit on him, he’ll wake up.”
Jin jolted up immediately. He wasn’t letting those kids spit on his face. The kids looked at him in horror, a couple of them even burst out crying. Damn, Jin should be the one getting scared. Because these kids, look just like younger version of his members. Small Taehyung, Hoseok were on the floor, crying. Small Jungkook, with tears rolling down his cheeks, was hiding behind small yoongi. Both Namjoon and Yoongi were looking at him warily while Jimin was just… shocked? “Hyungg, zombie?” Jungkook whispered to Yoongi but Jin heard it anyway. “He wasn’t dead from the start.” Small Namjoon replied. “Are you dead?” Jimin asked timidly. Jin shook his head. “No. I fell. I must have hurt my head.” Jin replied. Because if he didn’t, how could he see these small version of his members in front of him? Jungkook gaped. “Does it hurt a lot?” he asked, almost in a whisper. “It would hurt less, if you guys stop crying…” Jin replied, trying to make them stop crying. “Hyung is not a bad person, okay? You can trust me.” He continued. “Don’t be scared.” Jin said as he slowly approached both small Hoseok and Taehyung. To his surprise, Hoseok and Taehyung didn’t run away from him. So he wiped the tears away from them.
“You really not a bad guy?” Taehyung asked meekly and Jin nodded. “He looks like Jinnie-hyung.” Namjoon commented. “Jinnie-hyung?” Jin tilted his head. “He’s our hyung. But we can’t find him. Ahjusshi is looking for him now.” Yoongi replied. “How old is he?” Jin asked. “Less than this.” Jimin replied, showing Jin ten of his fingers.
Jin gulped. So there was also a child version of himself? He started to look around him. He was in an unknown room, surrounded by six kids. “Where is this?” Jin asked. “Ahjusshi’s house. Ahjushhi has a lot of games so we come here a lot. Ahjusshi found you. “ Namjoon replied. Jin frowned. But before he asked more questions, little Taehyung pointed at something behind him. “Is that yours? What is that?” he asked. Jin looked behind. They were the bubble tea he bought, and magically, they must have survived from the fall. “Bubble tea. I bought them for my friends, but you guys can have it.” Jin replied. “Really?” Taehyung asked excited and Jin nodded. Both Taehyung and Hoseok immediately went for the bubble tea in the plastic bag. “We shouldn’t get things from stranger.” Yoongi commented. “Ah, whyyy?” Taehyung whined when he had just pushed the straw into the drink. “Ahjusshi told us it’s gonna be okay with him though.” Hoseok pouted.
Jin was confused too. Why would someone leave six kids behind with a stranger? Maybe he knew Jin? Or maybe he simply knew BTS? “Hyung, can I have one too?” Jungkook asked Yoongi, still hiding behind him. Yoongi seemed to be thinking for a while before he spoke up again. “What is your name?” he asked. “My friends call me Jin-hyung.” Jin replied. “I’m Gloss.” Yoongi replied and Jin almost burst out laughing. The word ‘yoongi’ actually means Gloss in English and Jin’s Min Yoongi had used the name ‘Gloss’ when he was still an underground rapper. But looking at a small version of Yoongi, calling himself Gloss, damn, that was funny but extremely adorable. “It’s a nickname for himself. It’s his name in English.” Namjoon whispered to Jin’s ear. “Okay, it’s a good name.” Jin giggled a little. “And I’m Joonie.”
“Kookie.” Jungkook said quietly.
“Hello, I am Jiminie.”
“I am Hoseokie. And this friend is Tae Tae.” Hoseok introduced.
“Now we are not strangers.” Yoongi added. “Yay! Does that mean we can drink now?” Tae asked and Yoongi nodded. The six of them chose the bubble tea they liked and Jin smiled. He still wasn’t sure what situation he was in, but damn, they were extremely adorable. “Can Jinnie-hyung get one too?” Kookie asked.”Of course.” Jin replied. And while the kids were busy enjoying the bubble tea, he looked out of the window. There were not any familiar places around him and when he took out his phone, there wasn’t any signal; he didn’t bring extra money with him when he bought bubble tea and the door was also locked so getting a cab was impossible. Jin let out a frustrated sigh. “What’s wrong?” Jiminie asked.
“I need to get home to my friends.”
“Are you lost?” Joonie asked and Jin nodded. He sat down again, and Tae climbed onto his lap immediately. Jin smiled, because this kid is as clingy as the Taehyung he knows. “How could someone as big as you still lose your way.” Yoongi a.k.a. Gloss commented. “I don’t know.” Jin replied. “Jinnie-hyung must be lost too.” Kookie mumbled. Kookie made Jin thought of the first time he met Jungkook, small and shy. “Kookie-ah, come over here.” Jin called him. Kookie slowly walked over and Jin carried him and put him onto his wide shoulders. “Jinnie will come home, okay? Don’t worry. Is he the oldest here?” Jin asked and Kookie nodded. “He’ll come back. Because he’s your hyung, isn’t he? He won’t leave any of you behind.” Jin said.
“Okay.” Kookie replied, while playing with Jin’s hair. “Hyung don’t have to worry too. Ahjusshi will take you back to your friends.” Jimin said and Jin nodded. “I wonder if Jinnie-hyung will grow up just like you. You guys look really alike.” Namjoonie said. “Really? I hope your hyung will grow up to be a better person than me.” Jin replied. “Why? I think you’re really nice. And good looking too. Jinnie-hyung would like to be you.” Hoseokie said.
Jin smiled. “You think so?” They nodded.
“The six of you too. You guys look like my friends too.” Jin told them.
“Are they good people?” Yoongi asked suddenly and Jin said yes without any hesitation. “They are the most amazing people I’ve ever met in my life.” Jin added. Yoongi nodded. “I guess it’s cool to grow up to be like your friends then.” He muttered to himself.
“You guys will grow up to be just like them. You will give a lot of happiness to those around you.” Jin ruffled Yoongi’s head. “I like making people happy!” Hoseokie said and Jin chuckled. “Okay then, you can be like the sunshine, making people happy, giving hope, Hoseok-ah.” Jin said and Hoseokie looked pretty contented with being the sunshine. “And you, little one.” Jin said as he carried Kookie down from his shoulders. “You will grow up to be one of the most talented person.” Jin said to Jungkook. “I want to be strong.” Kookie said.
“You’ll be really strong too.” Jin added and Kookie smiled. “I’ll protect everyone!” he declared in a fit of giggles.
“Namjoonie, you’re born to lead. You’re going to be one of the smartest people out there.” Jin said and Namjoon smiled shyly. The kid with bowl cut hair and deep dimples muttered a thank you.
“Jiminie, you’ll grow up to be the kindest person. Your laughter literally brightens the world and I hope you’ll remember that you’re perfect just the way you are, okay?” Jimin nodded.
“What about me?” Tae asked. “You’re special in your own way. You’ll grow up to be… you. People smile just at the sight of you. Everything you do, is so special that people couldn’t help but to be in love with you.” Tae tilted his head, confused. Jin giggled. “You’ll understand one day.”
“And Mr.Gloss. You’ll be able to touch people’s hearts.” Jin said and Yoongi frowned. “I am not touching them.”
Jin chuckled. “Anyway, just remember that you’ll defeat all the sadness in this world. Because there are so many people out there who love you.”
“Are you a fortune teller?” Jimin asked. Jin shook his head no. “Then how do you know what we’ll become?” Yoongi asked accusingly. “I just know. Because you are some of the most special kids I’ve ever met. Just like my friends. You guys can get anything you want if you stay true to yourselves and never give up.”
“Jin must be really proud to have friends like you. He must have been really happy with the six of you.” Jin said as he looked carefully at the boys one by one. “Thank you for being the cause of Jinnie’s happiness.” He added.
Just when he finished, he heard footsteps approaching. “It must be Ahjusshi!” Namjoon exclaimed and the kids rushed to the door. Jin stood up and was suddenly hid by a wave of dizziness. “Hyung?” Kookie tugged the hem of Jin’s shirt. And then it was dark all over again.
And then he woke up on the hospital bed.
