When Ritsu arrived at the school gates, he saw his new classmate. He was there early to get to school council, so he was surprised to see her there.
"Aiko, why are you here so early?"
She smiled, a bit tiredly. "I just like getting to school before other people. It feels really serene when it's empty."
"Right. Anyway, gotta go." Ritsu continued to the school building while Aiko stood motionless near the gate. He'd just about made it to the school doorway when Aiko called his name.
He sighed, reminded himself to not kill a person, and turned. "What do you want now?"
"Kageyama, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. I can't say it straightforwardly or I'll get in trouble, but don't... get too close to me. I'm not really just a student, or a real friend. This wasn't my choice. I'm sorry."
"Wh... What's that supposed to mean?"
Aiko looked like she was about to cry, but Ritsu couldn't tell from the distance.
