Chapter Text

Crystal P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. It was 5 am and it was time to prepare breakfast and lunch boxes for my parents.

I got out of bed and tidy it up with some help from my vines. I grab the towel and walked to the bathroom. Everyone in the house wakes up at 6 am so I have the bathroom to myself.

After I finished my shower, I went back to my room to pull out my uniform. It was the standard U. A uniform that requires students to wear, Mama and I modify it a bit so the skirt would be longer just above my knees and some pockets for me to hide my plants or seeds.

I put it on and it was perfect, this is my first step to achieve my dream. Be a hero and show how my quirk can be used for good rather than useless. The mirror showed my reflection, I saw at the side of my shoulder the pink skin that clashed with my fair skin, a scar that will never disappear.

I never told Kaa-chan, Mama or Papa about it because they would have been worried. I got this scar because of my birth father before they died, his power was heat and he was the third best hero in Japan named, Blaze, just behind Endeavor. Because of his position, he wanted to have a powerful child so he had found my mother who had nature abilities like mine but weaker.

He paid my mother's parents and they got married. I was born after a year of that marriage, as a child back then, I was quite smart and remembered everything that he did to me. He wanted a son in the beginning and after he had known that I was a girl, he was furious and wanted my mother to abort me. My mother even though was weak, she didn't want to because I was her child.

After I was born, he notices something about me and that's when it all began. He would train me until I pass out when I just turn 2, he would pressure me to learn as many combat skills as I could. My mother was afraid of him but she still came to my side when my training was over, she would often cry as she hugs me. One of those training days, I had messed up and my father had used his quirk to teach me a lesson, he had burned the side of my shoulder. My skin felt so painful and raw, he left me at the training ground. Mother came running to my side and tried to use her quirk but it only stopped the bleeding and left the red skin. I wasn't ashamed of the scar but furious as he had hurt his one child. The scar left by him made me hate him more so than ever, the scar that will be stuck onto my skin until I die. felt so useless back then as I couldn't protect my mother, I hated my father with my whole being never giving him forgiveness even if he is dead.

Outside of the house, my father would play the role of a wonderful husband and hero alongside my mother who was forced to play along. They were the hero couple that everyone adores but they don't know how the male acted behind closed door to his wife and child. The man that was evil disguising to be a hero outside, the devil himself.

At age 4, I was at home alone as my parents were out fighting a villain alongside some of the pro heroes. I watched it on the television and that's when I saw my mother falling down as a villain had attacked her. Her body wasn't moving and something shocked me was that my father, the man that hurt me and mother, suddenly came to her side as a villain was about to strike her. I saw the last moment where their eyes met and they both smiled for the first time in my life to each other before they were killed by the villain.

I just stood at the TV not believing that my father had smiled to mother after all the things he had one. I saw how miserable he was when he looks into my mother's eyes, she had forgiven him before her death. I couldn't believe it, I scream and cried not believing that he had felt sorry.

That night, I ran out of the house and cried. I went to the park that the mother always would bring me too, I sat on the bench and cried. That was until I felt something touch my shoulder, opening my eyes, I saw the tree that was beside the bench. Its branch was touching my shoulder as if it was comforting to me. The flowers from the flower beds came to me, floating around me giving me a soothing and happy effect. I didn't know why they were doing these acts but I felt comfortable with the plants and nature. They are the only nice thing happening to me, they protect me from my sadness that I am feeling.

"Crystal!" I heard a voice calling me.

Then two pairs of arms wrapped around me. I look at the woman with ashy blond hair with red eyes.

"We've been looking for you." She was crying. I looked so shocked that she moved back a little. I wide my tears away and looked at her.

"Who are you?" I asked with my croaky voice.

"My name is Mitsuki, your mother's friend. I will be caring for you from today on." She said and hug me again.

Tears fell down my cheeks, as I sobbed into her shoulder. I wonder how this family will accept me.

Mitsuki then brought me to her house after we brought all my stuff. She opened the door to reveal a man and a boy around my age peeks out.

"Crystal, this is my husband, Masaru." She introduced.

"It's good to finally meet you, Crystal." He crouched down and smiled.

Crystal hid behind Mitsuki's back before she looks over to the man who was smiling at her.

"Hello," I greeted him back.

"This is my son, Katsuki. Katsuki, this is your new sister." Mitsuki introduced.

The boy came up to me and pulled out a hand.

"I want to be a hero one day," He said with sparkles in his eyes.

I was astonished at how to determine the looks. I never had any siblings and wanting one was not an option because of mother's wellbeing.

"I will be your big brother and protect you," He said and smiled.

I felt my eyes watered and I lunged forward to hug him. A heard the adults chuckling, Katsuki hug me back.

"I want to be a hero too!" I said and Katsuki smiled.

"We both will be heroes because we are the Baku Twins." He pulled out his pinky and I twist my pinky with his.

I found the family that loves me and I have the brother that supports and protects me from danger. The mother that strong and loving, the father that cares for and support the family. I am lucky to have them as my family, I forgave my father for all of his doing. I promised myself to help anyone who had the same past as me so that they could find happiness.

I would use my quirk to help those in need, to save people, to save their homes and to save their hearts from darkness and the cold cruel world. The scar is proof of what I had to endure and no one will feel the pain I had felt ever again.

END OF P.O.V

Crystal came back from her memories as she heard the rice cooker timer blared off. She cooked some meat and chicken before she puts the rice into four separated lunch boxes.

As she was doing that, she had thought that time at the park. She had found her quirk earlier than she had expected because she was sad. The time that she finally realized her quirk was when Katsuki and her were playing outside in the park with Deku, Katsuki had introduced him to her and the three of them became best friends.

They were playing hide and seek with other kids and she was trying to find a hiding spot but it seems the others had used all the best ones.

She heard Katsuki finished counting and was starting to find the others. She was still not hiding, then a tree branch suddenly came down to her as if it wanted to help her. Others would have freaked out but for some reason, Crystal wasn't. She stepped on the branch and the tree lifts her up high, the leaves move around and hid her from view.

Crystal peeks out a little from the leaves and saw that Katsuki had found everyone except her. Crystal giggled silently as she saw them trying to find her when she saw how worried Katsuki was, Crystal than asked the tree to bring her down.

"I'm right here, Kaa-chan." She called out for her brother who gasped seeing her.

"Crystal! Is that your quirk?" Deku excitingly asked as the children saw how the tree bend down to let her down to the ground.

"The thelpshelp me hide from you Kaa-chan, which means I won." Crystal was happy that she won.

"Your quirk is so cool, Crystal." The other kids all gathered around you and you blushed.

"Thank you," Crystal said back.

"I wish I will know my quirk soon," She heard Deku said.

"You will, Deku. When that happens, the three of us will be heroes like All Might." Crystal said to the green haired boy.

"OK!" Deku beamed a smile.

End of flashback

That time, Deku was a great friend of Katsuki. They would always be excited to get things that are related to All Might even the cards they would buy. But as time past by, Deku still didn't know what his quirk was until he said that the doctor confirmed him that he was quirkless.

Katsuki began to bully Deku afterwords which made Crystal really mad at Katsuki for doing it. He wouldn't listen but Crystal is still great friends with Deku even if Katsuki hated it but because she was his sister, he didn't get angry at her except he said if Deku hurt or failed to protect her, their friendship would end.

Crystal was a bit sad but wondered why had Katsuki began to bully Deku. Sure being friends with someone without a quirk can be humiliating for others but Katsuki was not raised like that, she would know because he respects other even though he uses foul language, it's just his way of showing that he cares. She hoped that one day both of them would become friends again, she cares for those two idiots.
