Chapter Text
"Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit oh SHIT"
Light was coming in through flame-patterned curtains, and Kirishima scrambled around her dorm room trying to put on her school trousers which were suddenly too loose on her. She was running a little late; thank God she got into the habit of fixing her school bag and stuff the night before (having been coaxed angrily by a certain someone on the first day they moved in).
Kirishima had almost went into cardiac arrest after waking up, hand on an unexpected mould on her own chest. After a good night's rest, she kinda sorta forgot about the 'exciting' events from the day before. Of course she remembered going on a super important raid, and that she'd been to the hospital and let go fairly quickly, but she guessed she forgot the finer details, like getting boobs burned onto her.
Going to the bathroom was another ordeal. She sat down to pee, and memory still hazy from the sleep, jumped out of her skin when she looked down- She thought her dick fell off or something! Fucking hell, wouldn't be the first it happened to someone in a world full of Quirks.
She tightened the belt so her kind-of-loose pants won't fall off, and hurried to the bathroom to spike her hair. She felt nervous enough thinking Bakugo already left for school without her, and even if he did wait for Kirishima, she doubted he'd still be waiting after she wasted a good amount of time just staring at her unfamiliarly rounded face on the mirror. AND her hair took a minimum of 3 minutes just to set.
She flicked her now spiked hair-it's sturdy enough, hiked up her bag, burst out her room and raised her hand hopefully greeting- And he's not here.
Her heart plummeted. She came out to the corridor and knocked his door, knowing full well Bakugo had left by then. He wasn't there leaning next to the elevator either, bursting into a yell of "YOU'RE FUCKING LATE!"; Kirishima smiling and glad, "Sorry sorry".
This has happened before, when Kirishima was taking too long. Bakugo left without her, she'd show up in class smiling, throw a friendly arm over his shoulders going "Hey bro didn't see you today" and him grumbling "Like heck I'd wait around for you". Hell, he'd even closed the elevator on her once. It had happened before, so why was she so disheartened at that moment? She almost felt tears coming up too, which was ridiculous because she wasn't so quick to give in to negative feelings like that. "Wow Eiji, you really got ahead of yourself didn't you", she thought bitterly.
She wiped her eyes and walked to the elevator, head depressingly down. Just as she was about to press the button, she heard a stiffled snicker-cough behind her. She whipped her back so fast her neck might have snapped, and there he was, bag on his shoulder, and a fist on his mouth, the way he hid when a laugh/smile/anything nice was showing on his face.
"BAKUGO?!"
Kirishima's rapidly widening eyes and jaw hanging off her mouth might have been too much, because the next moment Bakugo doubled over, bursting out laughing. "Holy SHIT, you should've looked at your face! You looked like a kicked puppy!" He'd said through laughs.
"Normal people would sound apologetic" Kirishima thought, but nonetheless she was smiling. Beaming even, as she walked over to Bakugo and fell into step beside him. "Cute kid", she thought with a smirk, as Bakugo pressed for the elevator, glancing back at her, smirking himself. Her mood had brightened up just as fast as it had soured. She hit his shoulder with her elbow. "That was pretty mean dude," she said, still smiling. She was too happy to load the words with bite. They didn't talk much during classes anyway, so walking together was a small joy of hers. A big joy, if she counts right now.
"Yeah, that's what you fucking get for making me wait that long"
He admitted to it! "AWW BRO YOU WAITED FOR ME!" She almost wanted to risk getting blasted for trying to pounce on him for a hug.
Bakugo furiously turned away before speeding up his steps. Kirishima had to run to keep up. "Next time I'll just fucking leave then!" he called without turning.
"Sorry sorry!" Kirishima called back as her gait slows a bit when her gut suddenly lurches with a stab of pain. Or somehwhere around the gut; she can't tell since it goes away as suddenly as it came, and she has to run twice as fast to catch up to Kaminari and Sero, who's just passed her on their way into UA's large entrance.

She enters laughing with Sero and Kaminari, as they always do on their way into class. Everyone regarded them as usual and went back to whatever they were doing- Bakugo leaning backwards, eyes closed, Midoriya and Todoroki in a heated discussion, Todoroki's face flat as ever, though you could tell from his eyes he was fired up about it, Hagakure's empty uniform skipping a little, telling the girls something exciting. Kaminari has an elbow propped up on Kirishima's shoulder like an armrest, since she's an inch or two shorter than him now. Sero attempts to put his tape-dispenser elbow on Kirishima's head, and she immediately activates her hardening to save her 5 minutes of careful gelling and spiking. To Sero, it was like resting your arm on a porcupine.
"OW DUDE"
"Yeah, I set my hair really late today, and I really can't risk it in case it's still setting"
Kaminari flicks her hair, her body not hardened anymore. A sound like tapping on cement. "I don't think you need to worry about that" he laughed.
Kirishima wiggled around in her UA uniform, jacket uncomfortable, and assumed shirts must usually be cut different for a female body. The weirdest part was how comfortable she felt in her uniform pants. She spoke this thought out to the guys and Kaminari pondered for a moment. "Come to think of it- according to our the shape of our respective genitalia, guys should be wearing skirts and girls should be wearing jeans and pants." It occurs to Kirishima at times time this, that even though Kaminari's grades didn't reflect it, he was much smarter and thoughtful than he let on. Later at Girl's Night, she'd have to turn down the skirt Yaomomo was going to conjure up for him out of her body fat.
"Everybody say GOOOD MORNING!" Present Mic burst in, and the students, already at their seats, quieted down for the first class of the day.
