Chapter Text
Training Dining Land, more like Torture Dying Land, considering the absolute bullshit I’ve been put through the past hour and a half. Let’s face it, I like to joke about death as much as the next guy, doesn’t mean I want to experience progressing my relationship to the next level. In short, whoever gave this school money to subject their students to unsafe situations similar to a videogame dreamed up by a ten-year-old is a complete and utter ass and I would personally like to fight them.
Well, I’m sure you’re wondering about my day and why I’m internally monologuing like an insane person. Well, here we go. I have had my life flash before my eyes multiple times as they’ve tried to “help me” activate my quirk on top of wearing the quirk suppressors. Believe me, if I knew how to activate this little nifty telekinetic floaty power I had, I would have done it without having to be launched into the sky. On that note, I’m going to add Cementoss and Aizawa to my hit list. I believe the terminology going along with that would be bitches get stitches.
Well anyway, after unceremoniously vomiting on Aizawa’s boots since you know, Karma’s a bitch and she don’t discriminate, he called our lovely little training time done for today. So, here I am, back in the staffroom waiting for Aizawa to finish up his work so I can go home and go take a nice bath and die.
“Are you sure the kid is okay, he looks like he’s dead,” inquires one of the teachers.
“Oh no, I’m just chipper, and for your reference, you might not want to talk about a person as if they aren’t here if they’re sitting right across from you,” I comment.
Of course, because people just love me, no one indulges me with a response to my presence and they continue to act as if I’m not there.
“Nah, the kid just has quirk exhaustion,” Aizawa replies.
“First of all, I have a name and it’s not kid—“
“Come on, Midoriya. We’re leaving.”
My mouth gapes as Aizawa smirks at me while he gathers his things. I immediately look to Present Mic and back at him, wondering if I can get any indication of some relationship. It seems Aizawa catches on because he immediately frowns.
“Get up, problem child, before I start dragging you.”
“Fine, fine. I’m coming. Geez, you’re like an elderly person rushing to make the early bird special before you up and miss it and have to pay the extra dollar.”
I hear a snicker behind me as I walk towards the door. I turn around, searching for the most sensible person in the room and land on, Present Mic. God, I love that guy. After all, obnoxious loudmouths got to stick together.
“Come on, I don’t have all day,” Aizawa grumbles.
I give a hum of acknowledgement and follow him out. Hopefully, the next however many days I spend at this godforsaken school go by faster. I mean the only thing that could get worse than this is an unexpected villain attack, and it’s not like that could happen at a place as secure as Yueii.

The next couple days went by in relative ease. Well, as calm as it could be in a school as rational as the people who believe the Earth is flat. The only thing I could really note of interest was the alarm suddenly going off because the media broke the Yueii barrier and infiltrated the campus. Honestly, I can see why Aizawa hates them so much, considering they’re so desperate that they’ll do about anything. You know, it’s kind of like that old commercial with the Klondike bar, except instead of food, they’re sluts for news stories.
Well anyway, its currently Friday, and like the previous four days, I’m stuck in the staffroom bored out of my mind. I already finished my work for the day, and I’m supposed to be going with Aizawa to the USJ any second now. He promised to let me accompany him so I could do quirk analysis in exchange for, to quote him, “keep myself under control.” Ha, like that’s ever going to happen; although, I was able to be a little more tolerable and didn’t murder anyone by means of sass.
Well, now here I sit, waiting for Aizawa to crawl his ass hear in his ungodly yellow sleeping bag. My eyes sweep across the room for the billionth time, taking note of the #1 Hero mug (god, I wonder what “humble” person’s that could be) and the other various trinkets in the room. In my opinion, the best one in the room is the adorable, little fluffy cat ornament on Aizawa’s desk. I would touch it, but to quote Aizawa again, “if you touch the cat, we’ll do a new exercise for quirk training and believe me problem child, you don’t want to know what I have in mind.” He even finished off his little spiel with that creepy smile of his. So nope, I’m not going to piss off that masochist any further. After all, I at least have some level of self-preservation below all of my teen angst and self-deprecation.
I stop what I’m doing, feeling breathing on my neck.
“Come on, Midoriya, it’s time to go.”
I jump in my seat, not expecting that and feeling as if I had a heart attack. Aizawa snickers as he makes his way towards the door.
“Aw, come on, seriously. What are you? five.”
“Says the kid that had issues trying to put on a seatbelt this morning.”
“For your information, it was stuck and wouldn’t budge.”
“Sure, kid. Sure. Now, come on. I have a class to teach.”
I pout and proceed to follow behind him.
It feels like an eternity trekking through the school’s winding halls until we make it outside in front of the bus.
Once there, the students of Class 1-A lay eyes on me, and they all look as if they would sweat drop if this was an anime. Well, all except one whose seething at the sight of me. I snicker as we bored the bus.
Sitting next to Aizawa was boring as to be expected; although, that didn’t deter me as I began to grow with excitement at the prospect of seeing so many quirks in action. Well, I may not be the biggest fan of heroes, I am the biggest fan of quirks. The irony of that statement though, considering the fact that I was quirkless until less than a week ago.
The bus ride goes by without a hitch; although, the students were obnoxiously loud and earned themselves an Aizawa equivalent face palm in the form of a groan and a “how irrational” declaration. Shortly afterwards, everyone got off the bus, and we found ourselves in the USJ.
I marvel at the sight before me while standing beside Aizawa. I was so consumed with it that I missed what the space hero Thirteen was telling the students.
Of course, such beautiful moments had to end and my shitty luck had to persevere as I found myself pulled out of my thoughts by Aizawa yanking me backwards.
“Thirteen, protect the students and Midoriya.”
Aizawa climbs over the railing and into the battlefield, leaving me seated on the floor five feet away from where I previously stood. It feels as if everything has descended into chaos, and to make matters worse, as I got up to head towards the door, I was met by the sight of the space before me being distorted as a black entity made its appearance.
I was left with only two thought as a realization of what was occurring dawned on me. First off, Aizawa was an absolute badass. Second, I have the shittiest luck in the world and somehow found myself with this shit happening. Wait, didn’t I say this would never occur. Aw, come on world. What the actual fuck.
