Chapter Text
There were so many strange sensations to take in. The most concerning one was the lack of control you felt. You could hear everything, but you couldn’t say anything back. You felt the warm hands that would grab yours, or rest on your feet, but you couldn’t move in response. You felt the tense emotions that often surrounded the hospital room you were in, but you could do nothing to alleviate them. You could remember and categorize the diagnoses that were claimed by the doctors. It was like you were asleep, but they were wrong, you were awake, painfully so, trapped in your body.
Tadashi had woken up and by the grace of deitys all around the world, you were screaming, foaming at the mouth, praying, and begging that your brain would fucking reconnect with the rest of you.
“Hey Dashi.” Hiro took a seat next to his brother, spreading out his homework at your side. “Hey, Y/n.”
‘Hey Hiro.’ You only wish they could hear you.
“What have you been up to today?” Hiro did this a lot, and you were thankful for it. Even in your strange comatose state, the silence sucked.
‘Oh you know, just laying around. You need to cheer up your brother, he talks to me like I’m dead and it’s gettin’ me down.’
“Hiro, you know you don’t have to do that right?”
“There’s enough first person accounts to show that it’s possible she can hear me.”
‘I can hear you, Teddy stop being a jerk to your baby brother.’
“Besides, she would want all of us to talk to her, you know how weird she gets.”
‘Yeah! Hey, you little shit, only I’m allowed to talk about how weird I am!’
“Hiro, Y/n’s not weird, she’s eccentric.”
‘That’s my man.’ You liked this more, you felt happier when this happened, and it was almost like they could hear you, almost.
“You’re just saying that because you’re in love with her.”
“Ssst.” The room suddenly went silent as you tried to tell them to stop. But this time felt different. You could feel your body waking up from a long sleep. “Sssssto.” God talking had never been so hard. “Stop it.” There we go. Everything was too bright, but as you weakly turned your head, you saw two of your favorite people. They both had tears in their eyes, and you weakly smiled at them.
“Water me, punks.”

Being overcome with nurses and doctors was never a fun experience, but luckily it all ended as quickly as it began and soon enough, all of your friends and family were in the room with you. Tadashi had wrapped around you in your bed and finally, everything was starting to feel normal.
“Y/n?” You looked at Gogo, a tired smile on your face.
“Yeah?” You were feeling much better now that you had been able to drink your fill of water.
“Could you hear us?”
“Oh, I could hear everything. It was horrible, being stuck inside yourself. But I was grateful for you all talking to me, I talked back, not that you heard it.” Tony, who had remained quiet in the corner for the most part decided to speak up.
“I have a theory about that.”
“Do tell.”
“The plasma might have been a tranquilizer, rendering you unable to move. If enough of it was absorbed by your skin and if you had consumed enough of it, it could have taken a long time for your body to metabolize it.” All the scientists in the room nodded but you.
“Oh no.” you muttered.
“What?” Tadashi squeezed you, worry filling him once more.
“I have to re-formulate if that’s the case!” It seemed all was truly back to normal.
~
Teddy and yourself were busy doing some cleaning in his half of the room. You had both been discharged a few weeks ago and had been taking it easy, but now that you were both better for the most part, still a bit slow and a bit too skinny, you both were ready to do more. Tadashi had turned on the news for some background noise and all was well until,
“Once again, Big Hero Six saves the day…” Tadashi had tuned out the rest of it as he noticed for the first time, his little brother and his friends saving the city.
“Y/n, am I crazy or,”
“No, that’s Hiro and the gang. Tony told me that they’ve been hero-ing… saving… rescuing… whatever, that they’ve been a hero group pretty much since we’ve been asleep.”
Tadashi took a seat on the corner of his bed. The gravity of the situation was not lost on him. He knew how upset Hiro had been, and he had read reports of what had happened to Callaghan after Big Hero Six stopped him. He knew his brother loved him, but this was… He was as touched as he was worried.
“He’s too young to be doing this, Y/n.”
“Not really. He’s with some of the most supportive people we know, as well as the smartest. Plus, he’s always with a healthcare companion. So I mean they are all really going about it in the best way possible. Plus they’ve saved the city dozens of times. By stopping them only more trouble will come about, and personally, I feel safer with them, and with you.”
“But what if something goes wrong?”
“Tony and I have got it covered.” You handed him a little device shaped like a phone.
“It monitors all of their fights and locations, so if they need help, we can help them.”
“…I’m sorry what?” You did not appreciate the dead pan look your boyfriend was giving you.
You wrapped your arms around one of his, with a slight manic grin.
“It’ll be like Sailor Moon! You and I will be Tuxedo Mask, and they’re the scouts, and whenever they really need help, we give it to them!”
“Y/n, no.”
“Y/n, yes! I already have our armor/ costumes!”
“And when were you planning on telling me?”
“Well I wasn’t about to out your brother and our friends, they’ll tell us when they’re ready, but until then, we can help out from the sidelines.” Your gentle smile let him know that everything was going to be alright.
“But you said I wouldn’t always be able to protect him.”
“And you won’t be, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help.” Tadashi pressed his lips to your forehead. “And of course, I will help too.”
“You’re so stubborn.”
“And you’re a punk.”
And you both couldn’t be happier.
