Izuka walked back into the room to see a messy redhead with bed hair trying to figure out how the coffee machine worked. She giggled watching the woman cursing out machine as she finally opened the top and poured coffee grounds into it, ignoring he sudden thought of seeing this each morning would be nice.

“Why are we friends again?” Enjiko asked stirring the alcohol, that had settled, into her drink. “Because you love me” the other female singsonged over her own cup and received a thrown pillow in her direction that missed her completely. “See you love me.” She started again, blushing and bursted out laughing as the other woman blushed and screamed “shut up I don’t!” While hiding her face into the blanket strewn across her lap.
“Oh really then why do you introduce me as your friend and not your student intern” the second girl teased. Enjiko sputtered “B-because-.”
The bedroom door opened and Shouto appeared in the the door “shouldn’t you two be asleep right now, Mom you have work and Izuka has school so” Shouto reached over and turned off the lights “good night” he said closing the door. “Straight and to the point isn’t he” Enjiko said after a moment “yet couldn’t even confess his feelings to the boy he liked, really.” Izuka gasped, acting scandalized “Enji-kun how dare, your own son!” She said placing a hand on her chest. “Oh shut it.” Enjiko said turning over in her bed and pulling the blanket over her head “go to sleep and no more American novels for you.” The girl only giggled and turned off the lights “night Enjiko.” She said going to sleep almost a minute later.
Enjiko smiled, she loved that memory. The first time Izuka had called her by her real name.

“Hmm so many lights, America has some similarities to Japan when you think about it” Izuka muttered, holding on to Enjiko’s hand as they walked along the pier looking at the city and the stars, trying to find constellations. Enjiko snapped out of her daze and looked up at Izuka taking in the pout of her face as she muttered and jumping as She suddenly looked at her.
“Enji-kun?” She asked “hmm?” Was the only reply she got but didn’t notice “You said once that you would do anything for me, right? Would you even travel to the end of the universe, to pick me an apple from the tree of life or even battle a gorgan?”
Enjiko blinked not expecting that question. “One” she began “Yes I would, two I’m taking your Grims fairy tales book.” Izuka only smiled at the false threat.

“Hey sweetie” a random guy yells over the loud music of the bar. Izuka looked at him blankly “A-are you talking to me?” She yells back in fluent english, pointing to her chest. Enjiko tried not to break her glass as she watched the man pull his attention to her well endowed chest before looking back at her.
“Yeah, who else would I be talking about beside your friend over there?” He says tilting his head to his friend “we just wanted to come over a talk to you ladies and it doesn’t look like you’re from here.”
Enjiko didn’t say a word but Izuka thinking the men were being friendly smiled and said they weren’t. Enjiko felt the grip on her glass almost break it as she watch the first man’s perverted grins get bigger.

“wanna dance?” Says the second guy holding his hand out to Enjiko. Izuka tried to make the stab of jealousy she felt sear through her go away by grabbing the other guy’s hand pulling him along to dance like Enjiko.
Forget those amigos
The guy Enjiko was dancing with leaned down “sorry if I’m boring you my friend over there really wanted me to distract you so he can talk to her” he said “but I can tell your close” he said Enjiko blushed “no she pls my best friend it’s not like that-“
“you want it to be like that, that I know” the guy said sternly “now go get your girl before he starts trying to pressure her into bed, which is why I’m here, to make sure it doesn’t happen” he said gently pushing her toward Izuka.
Who now that Enjiko was looking at her, seemed uncomfortable as the guy moved closer and attempted to grab her arm.

Enjiko saw red and stomped towards him just as he tried to kiss Izuka and she pushed him away.
Forget those amigos
She walked up to them, grabbed Izuka and pulled her out of the bar not sparing the other man a glance but smiled a thanks to the wingman.

“Enjiko!” Izuka exclaimed as she was pulled along, suddenly was spun around by the older woman and felt a pair of lips suddenly against hers.

After a moment Izuka responded back matching the rough pace the woman had made until Enjiko grabbed her cheeks and pulled her face away from Izuka’s breathing heavy. Enjiko looked at her saddened and guilty “I’m sorry.” She said.

“For what?” Izuka questioned brows furrowed.

Enjiko sputtered “I just stole your first kiss and kissed you out of the blue!”
'Cause you're really my dearest friend
Izuka leaned in closer “Do it again” She said eyes sparkling.

Enjiko, for the second time in her life, looked nervous. “Are you sure?”

Izuka pressed forward and kissed her.
