Chapter Text

The sky above him was downcast and the wind threatened to steal his coat right off of him. He spent most of the past week stuck in the hospital under the watchful care of Speedwagon Foundation employees. Jotaro arranged most of the treatment so his mom didn’t have to worry about paying for everything. Instead, she spent most of her time yelling at him for being an idiot and skipping school. Between her ranting, Josuke was visited by Okuyasu and Koichi who brought video games to waste the time away. Being in the hospital was boring, though, so he was happy to be out in Morioh again.

Today was the day they would say goodbye to Reimi. Jotaro was still investigating what exactly happened that day but Josuke felt things would clear up after this. He even bet Okuyasu two thousand yen he would be right. It’ll be the first step of many to reclaim the sixty thousand. The person who owed him couldn’t pay it back anymore.

As they walked, they fell into conversation quite easily.

"I still can’t believe your hair grew back so quickly!" Okuyasu yelled. "If it were me, it would’ve taken at least a month."

"What can I say? It’s an important part of my identity so it was always going to come back."

"Shame it did..."

"What was that bastard?!" he growled.

"Nothing! Rohan said nothing!" Koichi interrupted.

Koichi was right. He could beat up Rohan later and right now, they had other business to attend to. Reimi waved at them as they approached while Arnold rapidly wagged his tail.

"Thank you all for bringing peace to Morioh. We’ve been waiting for a long time but now..." she sniffed. "Everything is finally over."

While the others started saying their tearful goodbyes, Josuke searched the area for the wallet's owner. When he finally saw him, the other looked exactly like they did before they died. The ghost seemed annoyed by his presence as he approached.

"Hello, again! Sorry about last time and all that."

"Do I know you?"

"Uh...Not really but I figured I would return this to you!"

The weirdly dressed teenager handed him a wallet. Opening it, he came across the driver license of Yoshikage Kira. The man looked exactly like him. For a moment, he felt disturbed by the resemblance but he recovered quickly enough. So his name was Yoshikage Kira. Well, it could’ve been worse.

"Thank you...But I have no use for it now."

He handed it back to him.

"Feel free to do with it as you wish. Probably should work ahead before the cancel everything."

The meaning wasn’t lost on the teenager.

"Don’t worry! I’ve got ya covered!"

As the teenager made it to his group of friends, one of them yelled out, "I'll take care of your cat!"

He didn’t even know he had one.

After a few more minutes, Reimi and Arnold made their way back. It was time to go. As the light came one last time, Yoshikage Kira finally was at peace.
