Chapter Text
George Weasley let out of breath, they were home again. He loved the Burrow, but Hogwarts would always be the place he felt more at home. He knew that even though the Magical World accepted gays and lesbians they would never accept them. They were brothers, twins even, almost everyone frowned upon finding out their secret. They did have a few people who knew the truth and was okay with it. The best of it was their Kitten. How he figured it out was a mystery, kinda like how he always knew which twin was the other.
“You’re thinking too hard.” Fred Weasley said as he slipped his arms around his lovers waist. He rested his chin on George’s shoulder. “You get that constipated look on your face, it’s going to give you wrinkles and we don’t want that.”
“Just worried, about Kitten, about Dragon, and everything.” George said. “Kitten didn’t look happy being so far from Dragon. Do you think he will be safe? Ronniekins wasn’t happy that he is friends with us, and definitely not happy about the soul mates with Draco.”
“I think he will be okay, I put up a few spells to let us know if something happens near the first year dorm, and as soon as we have time, I want to place a few on Kitten’s bed and trunk. But for now we should head to bed.” Fred reassured his brother/lover.
Fred pulled away and cast the spell that would merge the two twin beds into a queen size one, he then changed the sheets from crimson into pale golden silk. The boys had learned that spell years ago, but needed a wand to actually do it.
As Fred prepared the bed, George pulled out the Marauder’s Map and hung it on the wall. He activated it and checked on the people he cared most about. Draco was sharing a dorm with Theo, the rest of the Ravenclaw boys in another room, George wondered if that was because of the rumors about Mr. Malfoy. Harry was in his room with Ronniekins, the Longbottom boy and two others, the names were jumbled because everyone was in close proximity. The third year girls were already in bed, and Lee Jordan was on his way to their door.
“Lee is on his way over.” He said.
“Okay, at least I don’t have to change the bed again.” Fred said, their first year no one really thought anything about them sharing a bed, figuring that they were homesick and needed the comfort of a twin, Lee had found out in their second year and was pretty chill about it, and this year no one wanted to share with them for fear of pranks, Lee told them they deserved a place all their own so he agreed to room with the other third years.
Just as Lee was about to knock the door popped open and a hand grabbed the front of his robes and pulled him into the room.
“Nice to see…”
“You buddy.”
“What’s the word around
“The Gryffindor tower?”
“Really freaky twin speak, I thought our bond was better than that.” Lee feigned hurt.
“Sorry Lee can’t help it.” George said with a smile.
“Won’t help it, is more likely.” Lee said.
“True, but more fun for us.” Fred added.
“Oh and spread the word ‘freak’ or anything related is not acceptable anymore, apparently that was one of Kitten’s relatives favorite words.” George had a hard glint in his ice blue eyes.
Lee wasn’t stupid, he knew that something was going on with Harry Potter, but he wasn’t going to ask, if the twins or Harry wanted him to know they would tell him. He had read in the Daily Prophet that they were facing charges of mistreatment and more, hence why Harry was living in Malfoy Manor.
“No problem, I’ll let people know about the newest word on the forbidden list. Anyway I just wanted to say good night and I’m glad everyone is here safe and sound.” He said heading to the door.
“Night Lee we’ll see you in the morning.”
“Night buddy.”
The twins had settled down, Fred was nodding off, his arms wrapped around his brother/lover, George was still worried and needed the comfort. That was one of the best things about their relationship nothing was defined, no one was the top or bottom, they were equals in every way. Fred was just about out when a scream ripped through the air, a scream of absolute horror. The twins threw back the blankets and grabbed their bathrobes and went tearing down the stairs to check on their Kitten. The first years dorm was empty, but sobbing could be heard from the common room.
The scene they found was utterly stunning, and not in the good way. All five of the first year boys were their, but the one who stood out the most was their sweet lovable Kitten, he was kneeling in front of the main fireplace his head bowed almost to the floor, he was only wearing a pair of underwear, his back still had a few scars and fading bruises from his time with the Dursley’s. Two of the boys were trying to hold back Ronniekins, who was purple in the face. Clearly he was mad about something. The final boy was trying to comfort Harry but anytime he got closer Harry would flinch and sob more.
“Handle this.” Fred Weasley said tight lipped, he gestured to their blood brother. He grabbed a blanket from the back of a sofa and very gently laid it over Harry’s shoulders, covering his back so no one else would see it. “It’s okay, I got this.” He said to the boy who was trying to help. He kneeled down and wrapped his arms around his Kitten. He looked into the fire and could see a shirt turning into ashes and could only guess it was one of Draco’s. “It’s going to be okay Kitten.” He whispered.
George watched his twin for a moment, then pulled out his wand and cast a bubble of silence on them, turning to the other boys he let the fires of Hell flash into his eyes. “What in Merlin’s name is going on here?!” He whisper shouted so as not to wake everyone else up.
