jungkook was sobbing, his shoulders shaking with every loud cry he let out, he felt like somebody had ripped his heart out of his chest. without jimin he wasn't complete, it felt like a huge part of him was missing, the part that made him a better person.
he missed jimin's beautiful eyes, his funny and sweet personality, he missed all the nights they had spent together watching movies and talking about everything. jimin had been always there for him, helping him through every hardship, showing him how to love himself and always see the positive in everything.
jungkook couldn't help but blame himself, he should have known that his best friend wasn't okay a long time ago, but he had always been so occupied with his upcoming wedding that he had neglected jimin, jimin the person that had needed somebody so bad.
he could have helped jimin, they would have gotten through this together and maybe jimin would still be here with him, holding him in his arms and making him feel calm and happy.
to think about what jimin must have been going through, he had no one to help him, he was alone with his feelings and the fear, the fear of knowing that he would die soon, but he had still shown up at jungkook's wedding, trying to make it a beautiful day for jungkook. he had even encouraged jungkook to say yes, even though it must have destroyed jimin.
he wished he could move back in time, he would change everything just so jimin would still be alive, he would give his life for jimin's in an instant.
but he couldn't change the past, jimin had died in his arms and there was nothing he could do about it, he still felt jimin falling into his arms, how he was wet with cold sweat and mouth full of blood. his blonde locks were sweaty and his beautiful dark eyes weren't able to focus properly anymore. jimin's last words were still ghosting through his mind, now all the i love you's had a so much deeper meaning, jungkook had always thought about it in a brotherly way, but now it was so much more.
he pulled the three yellow petals from more than two months ago, out of his pant pocket, looking at them with more and more tears streaming out of his eyes. he holds them tightly as he slowly stood up walking to the white coffin at the front of the church. there laid jimin, he was way too pale, but with a lot of fantasy, it looked like jimin was actually sleeping.
jimin was wearing his favorite sweater with some jeans he had always liked to wear, jungkook wanted jimin to wear this because jimin never had been a fan of formal clothes. he wanted jimin to rest in peace with some comfy clothes at least.
he outstretched his hand to slowly stroke jimin's cold but soft cheek, "i'm so so sorry hyung." he whispered trying to hold back his sobs in front of jimin. jungkook opened his hand to see the three yellow petals there, he gently opened jimin's a little stiff hand to place them in his palm, he then closed hand again so he would hold the petals tightly.
jungkook leaned down to place a long kiss onto jimin's forehead, stroking his cheek one last time before he turned around walking to his husband that had been waiting for him at the exit of the church. he had tears in his eyes as well, opening his hand for jungkook to take it, "he'll always be with us, in our hearts, jungkook-ah. i'm sure of it, jimin could never leave you, for that he loves you too much."
jungkook nodded, praying that taehyung was right, please never leave me, jimine, he thought.
