Chapter Text

Jimin hummed in contentment as Taehyung tightened his arms around his middle and they both nearly melted into the pillows on the younger’s bed. It was Saturday morning and they both had found themselves too comfortable to get up yet. During moments like this, Jimin noticed how he, Taehyung and Jeongguk really fit together like puzzle pieces. Taehyung couldn’t sleep without hugging something to his chest and Jimin loved to be held tight. Jeongguk on the other hand always wanted to make sure his boyfriends were still there, so he usually threw one leg and arm over them. They just fit.

“I think Jeongguk is a little upset lately,” Jimin said eventually as he ran his fingers over Taehyung’s arm.

The younger let out a quiet hum and buried his nose in Jimin’s hair. “Why?”

“Well, you know, he hasn’t had much time to see you. I see him at work and you at home but he hasn’t been able to see you, really.” Jimin sighs quietly. “He’s not angry at me or you of course but more at the rest of the world.”

“I mean, I’ve noticed it too. I’ve missed him lately.” Jimin didn’t need to turn his head to know that his boyfriend was pouting. “But I know that’s just a bit stressful at the moment. We’ve done it for months now.”

“Maybe we haven’t tried as much as in the beginning.” Jimin turned in Taehyung’s hold and let their legs intertwine. “I mean, a few months ago we made sure to go on dates at the weekend at least but now… why isn’t Jeongguk with us right now?”

“Because we’re dumb,” Taehyung mumbled, shaking his head. “Let’s make it up to him, yeah? He deserves it.”

So they did and it took them only a quick google search to determine what they were gonna do. They sent a quick text to their boyfriend, letting him know that they were gonna do something together on the next day, before spending the rest of Saturday laying in Taehyung’s bed and watching animes.

“Hey, baby, we have a surprise for you,” Jimin greeted the youngest on Sunday when he stepped into his boyfriends’ apartment.

Confused, Jeongguk frowned. “What? Why?”

“Well, you know, you’ve been kinda grumpy lately, because you weren’t able to see Tae a lot and-”

“I wasn’t grumpy,” the younger immediately protested, but the two men just chuckled.

“It’s okay.” Taehyung reached out to cup Jeongguk’s face in his hands. “You could’ve told us, you’re not happy.”

“But-”

“So Tae and I decided we’re gonna make up for it,” Jimin said and smiled brightly as Taehyung wrapped his arms around the youngest, grinning up at him. “There’s this sculpture exhibition this month and I’m sure you and Tae will enjoy it.”

“But why don’t we do something that we all enjoy? I know you don’t like art that much.” Jeongguk pouted at his boyfriends. “We weren’t on a date in so long.”

“That’s why I’m picking you two up afterwards,” the eldest smiled gently at Jeongguk. “Don’t worry, no one is gonna feel left out today.”

“This is nice,” Taehyung said as they strolled through the art gallery, hands intertwined. “Makes me think of the day we met.”

“I prefer this.” Jeongguk raised their hands and then kissed the back of Taehyung’s. “With Jimin waiting for us.”

“Yeah, me too.” The elder paused in his step and pulled the other into an embrace when he halted in confusion. Sighing Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jeongguk’s neck. “I love you so much, Jeonggukkie. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to show you lately.”

“Don’t worry, hyung. I know, I always do.”

“I know, you know but … I also know you’re someone who needs a lot of love and affection.” The blue haired man bit his lower lip. “You would never complain, but I know you need the extra coddling as our baby.”

“I don’t.” Jeongguk huffed and pouted as if that didn’t proof Taehyung’s point of him being the baby of the relationship.

“Listen, baby.” The elder cupped Jeongguk’s face in his hands and thumbed over his cheeks – not caring at all, that they were in public. “I know you worry a lot and you think a lot about your feelings. I just want you to know that I understand, that the love you have for Jimin is a different kinda love you feel for me. I know you love him more because you have loved him longer. Just … yeah, I understand, okay? I obviously also probably love you and Jimin differently than how you love each other. Don’t worry too much about it.”

“No offence, but that almost sounds as if only you would worry about that, hyung.” Jeongguk giggled softly and leaned in to kiss Taehyung’s nose. “I know loving Jimin feels different. Loving Jimin feels like … you know how when your hands are almost frozen and they get warm again, they hurt? Because suddenly all the blood is rushing into your hands and it’s not cold anymore but it still really hurts? That’s what loving Jimin feels like. It’s liberating but it still kinda hurts. Not in a bad way, really, but in a way that reminds me that loving him was once really painful. Loving you is like … warming your hands in front of a campfire even though it’s not cold. So much warmth. Gosh, I don’t know if that even makes sense. But I love you so much, hyung. I love you differently than Jimin but not any less, never any less.”

“Mabe you’re right, maybe I’m the one who thinks too much.”

“Told you so.” Jeongguk chuckled and pinched his boyfriend’s side. “Maybe we really should get more one on one time. Every Wednesday Jimin and I leave practise early and go out to eat. Maybe we could do something on Saturday? Then on Sunday all three of us can hang out.”

“I’d love that.”

A few hours later the two boyfriends happily emerged from the exhibition. Even though it had turned a little emotional, they both had enjoyed their date, having truly missed spending time together. When they left the building, they quickly spotted Jimin leaning against a wall. He was bundled up in a long dark coat, a thick scarf and knitted beanie. He looked adorable.

“Look at him, we’re so lucky.” Taehyung nudged the younger man as they approached their boyfriend. “The prettiest of them all.”

Jeongguk smiled brightly. “He is.”

Jimin pushed himself from the wall he was leaning on and hugged Jeongguk and Taehyung tightly. “There you are. How was the exhibition?”

“It was great. I’ve got some good inspiration for my own sculptures,” Taehyung answered as they started making their way towards the closest subway station.

“That’s amazing, sunshine. You’ll have to show me when you’re done, yeah?”

“Absolutely.” The blue haired man beamed. “I promised Gukkie that he can watch me work.”

“We’ll also try to hang out more on Saturdays,” Jeongguk added. “Where are we going now?”

“You’ll love it,” Jimin grinned, exchanging a knowing glance with Taehyung. It only took them 15 minutes to arrive at the ice rink and the second Jeongguk realised what the second part of their date would be, he sported the biggest grin on his face.

“Hyung, come on,” Jeongguk giggled as he slid on the ice effortlessly and reached out for Taehyung who had a death grip on the railing and was trying hard not to slip and break his spine. That could happen, right?

“It’s okay, baby. You go skate with Jimin. I’ll be fine.” Taehyung took one hand off the railing to wave his boyfriend off before he lost balance and ended up hugging the railing instead. Thankfully, Jeongguk was being a good boyfriend and listened. Relieved Taehyung watched the two men skate hand in hand across the ice as if they were born for it. They probably were. Taehyung hadn’t been ice skating a lot, so he still had big struggles with the balancing of it all. That seemed to be no problem for his boyfriends. It probably had something to do with ballet – no, definitely.

A smile found its way onto his face when the two started twirling around, but it quickly disappeared when they headed towards him. Gently Jimin pried Taehyung’s hands from the railing and slowly started skating backwards and pulling the younger with him. Taehyung started to protest but Jeongguk just softly gripped his hips and pushed him forward.

“Guys, no, no, please,” he whined and gripped Jimin’s hands so tightly, he was sure he was breaking all his fingers. “I’m gonna fall and break all bones, please don’t do this.”

“If you fall, you’ll fall on me or Gukkie,” Jimin replied laughing. “If anything, we’ll break all our bones.”

“Oh my god.”

“Come on, sunshine,” Jeongguk encouraged him softly. “Just breathe and move your feet with me, okay? Don’t look down, look at hyung.”

“I hate you,” Taehyung breathed as he let himself be guided by his boyfriends.

“Sure you do.” Jimin giggled and leaned in to peck Taehyung on the lips. “Sure you do.”

“We actually have one last surprise for you,” Jimin announced just as Jeongguk was slipping out of his shoes in their apartment. The younger paused while shrugging off his coat.

“Really?” With big doe eyes, he stared at his boyfriends. “Are you trying to spoil me?”

“We always are, baby.” Taehyung grinned and hugged him from behind, placing his chin on his shoulder. “But this is actually something we’ve thought and talked about a lot.”

“You know we always miss you,” Jimin said, opening a drawer in the living room. “So we got you this.” Confused Jeongguk stared at the D.Va keychain that was pushed into his hand, before letting his eyes flicker to the key attached to it.

“Is this … for this apartment?” Taehyung and Jimin nodded smiling. “So I can come over whenever I want to?”

“Well actually…” Taehyung mumbled and buried his nose in Jeongguk’s neck, making the younger lean into him.

“Actually, we want you to move in,” Jimin finished his sentence and stepped forward to wrap his arms around Jeongguk as well.

The younger’s breath hitched in his throat. “What? For real?”

Taehyung chuckled. “Of course.”

“Aren’t we moving a bit too quickly? Literally?”

“If you don’t want to or think it wouldn’t be the right thing to do, then you really don’t have to. It’s your decision.” Jimin raised onto his tiptoes to kiss Jeongguk’s cheek. “No matter how you decide, the key is yours. But we do miss you a lot when we’re home and I think you feel the same.”

“I do,” the younger sighed. “And I feel like it’s the right thing to do but what if it isn’t?”

“But what if it is?”

“I feel like this is the best day of my life.” Taehyung let out a relaxed sigh and leaned back on the sofa, watching Jeongguk and Jimin carry the youngest’s moving boxes into the apartment. “I should’ve gotten myself two strong boyfriends way earlier.”

“Or you could, you know, help,” Jeongguk replied setting a heavy box down in front of Taehyung’s feet.

The elder pursed his lips in thought. “I prefer watching my two strong men.” He reached out to squeeze Jeongguk’s biceps. “Also, I did help.”

“You found out which was the lightest box and then proceeded to only carry that one,” Jimin huffed when he had brought a box into Jimin’s old bedroom. Since Taehyung’s bedroom was the biggest, they had decided to make that room the master bedroom. There were gonna put their three closets in the room as well but everything else they owned was gonna be divided onto the other rooms – though Taehyung hoped that he could turn the spare bedroom into his own art studio.

“But I’m really not that strong and those boxes are so heavy.” The blue haired man pouted at his boyfriends.

Jeongguk sighed. “Not all of them. I’m sure you can lift a few.” For a few seconds, Taehyung kept looking at him with his puppy eyes. “What if I bribe you with kisses?”

Taehyung jumped to his feet and pressed a quick peck to Jeongguk’s lips. “One kiss per box. And I mean proper kisses,” he said, before walking out of the apartment to fetch a box from downstairs. Jimin and Jeongguk looked at each other in amusement.

Laughing the elder wrapped his arms around Jeongguk. “I’ll work for free but I do enjoy some encouraging.” With a soft hum, the younger leaned down to capture Jimin’s lips. They stayed like this, kissing and biting each other’s lips until Taehyung appeared in the doorframe.

Hey!” He exclaimed offended. “I meant kisses for me.” Jimin and Jeongguk stepped apart and both pecked Taehyung’s cheek, before heading downstairs. For a second the man stood still in the entryway of their apartment, pout still prominent on his lips before he shook himself out of it and continued bringing the box he was holding into the bedroom.

It took them half an hour to carry Jeongguk’s stuff up into the apartment and then another half an hour for Jeongguk to drive back the van he had borrowed from one of Yoongi’s friends. When he came back Jimin and Taehyung were still sorting through his stuff. He had brought quite a lot of old furniture with him since they hadn’t decided which of it to use and swap with the furniture in the apartment.

“We were about to build your closet,” Jimin said after being greeted by a peck on the cheek. “But now that you’re here, I can go to the supermarket real quick and get some food for the weekend.”

“Oh, I wanna come with,” Taehyung added and got up from where he had been sitting on the carpet.

“But I can’t build the closet alone,” Jeongguk protested, making Jimin let out a deep sigh.

“Okay, we’ll go together but let’s make it quick, so we can still build this before dinner, yes?” When the younger two cheered and ran to the door, Jimin shook his head. Was he dating two men or was he now the father of two? The world may never know.

Thankfully they had a mart on the street’s corner, so they didn’t need to walk long. Inside they split up to get everything much quicker. Jeongguk was just standing in front of the instant noodles, contemplating how much ramen they could get when someone tapped on his shoulder. Confused he turned around, only to find his mother’s sister standing right in front of him.

“Jeonggukkie! Ah, I knew it was you,” she gushed, immediately reaching to pinch his cheeks. The man tried not to grimace.

“Hi, Doori-ah,” he greeted her and bowed politely. “It’s been a while, right?”

“Oh yeah, you’ve grown so much!” This time she tucked at his earlobes playfully. “Your parents kept me up to date, though.”

“That’s-”

“Baby, I got us some vegetables so we can just make a little bit of bibimbap tonight, alright?” Jimin appeared in the aisle and unceremoniously dropped the vegetables in Jeongguk’s basket before he realised his boyfriend had been having a conversation with someone. “Oh, hello.”

“Uh, this is my mother’s sister, Doori-ah,” Jeongguk said quickly. “And this is Jimin-“

“Is he your boyfriend? He is, right? Your mother told me you’re gay now and I could swear that you always talked about a Jimin boy when you were still in school.” Doori looked at the two boys expectantly. Questioningly Jimin eyed his boyfriend, wanting to let the man answer himself.

“I’m- uh, yes,” he stuttered out eventually. “We were friends in school but we’re together now.”

“Aw, that’s so cute. And don’t worry I’m not afraid or anything.” Doori now pinched Jimin’s cheeks. “I’m all for the gay people. Not everyone can be hetero and that’s okay.”

“Thank you,” Jimin responded, slightly confused.

“Hey, Jeongguk-ah-” Taehyung ended up drawing out the last syllable of Jeongguk’s name when he turned around the corner and found his boyfriends standing awkwardly around with a strange woman.

“Oh, who’s this?” Doori asked curiously, smiling brightly at Taehyung.

“That’s, uh,” Jeongguk stammered. “That’s Taehyung, our best friend. He lives with us, too.” Taehyung took one glance at Jeongguk’s arm wrapped around Jimin’s waist and put two and two together.

“Ah, it must be exhausting to always third wheel those boys, huh?” Doori said jokingly, not knowing that Taehyung’s heart was cracking a bit in response. Nevertheless, he put on a smile and chuckled lightly.

“Yeah, a bit,” he replied, nudging Jimin with his elbow. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see his boyfriends watching him, but he ignored them.

“Aish, I would love to chat more with you boys but my husband is waiting at home.” Dramatically the woman put a hand on her chest. “I can’t make him wait for long, you know how it is. I hope you’ll come home more often Jeonggukkie, I’m sure your parents miss you as well.”

“I’ll try to come home for Christmas,” Jeongguk assured her with a small smile. “I’ll see you then.”

“Of course, have a good day, you boys.” Doori patted them all on their heads, before leaving the aisle in a hurry.

Taehyung looked after her for a moment, before turning back to his boyfriends. “I was actually looking for you to ask if we wanna drink some beer or soju tonight? I don’t think we have anything at home but I feel like we need to celebrate a little.”

“Sunshine, are you okay?” Jimin asked gently, reaching out to cup Taehyung’s face in his free hand. The younger shrugged him off gently.

“I’m fine,” he said and turned around to leave, but Jeongguk quickly caught his wrist.

“Hyungie, I’m sorry, I couldn’t tell Doori about us. She’ll already tell my parents about Jimin now and they didn’t take my coming out too well.” Jeongguk huffed a little frustrated and pulled Taehyung closer so he could wrap one arm around him. “I didn’t even wanna say anything about Jimin, but she heard him call me baby and … I really am sorry.”

“No, no, it’s fine. Seriously,” Taehyung assured the younger man. “We talked about not telling everyone we know and it’s genuinely fine. I get it. A lot of people will have something mean to say.”

“Don’t be like that. I know that I hurt you.” Jeongguk softly kissed Taehyung’s cheek – completely ignoring the fact that they were still at the supermarket. “It hurt me, too. This is still new to us all, so I hope you know, I’m not ashamed of you.”

“Me neither,” Jimin quickly added running a hand over Taehyung’s back.

“I know, guys. It’s really okay.” He smiled at his boyfriends. “Yeah, it hurt at first, but I’m okay now. I know you love me.”

“We really do, sunshine.” With a last peck on his cheek, the three of them parted and finished their little shopping trip together.

“I don’t mean to pry but you said your parents aren’t supportive of you?” Taehyung asked his younger boyfriend when they were back at the apartment trying to build Jeongguk’s closet.

“No, not really.” He sighed quietly. “I don’t think they’re downright homophobic. I feel like they don’t have a problem with gay people in general, they just don’t want a gay son.”

“Not to be rude but they should’ve known they had it coming from the moment you decided you wanted to go to a ballet school.”

Jeongguk let out a loud laugh. “I really wanna be offended but I seriously can’t.” He shook his head. “A lot of my classmates were out as well.”

“The SBA is a really safe space thankfully,” Jimin said after handing Jeongguk a screwdriver. “There are a few mean closeted gay students sometimes but it’s nothing major and we as teachers often intervene when it gets too extreme.”

“I feel like I’d love to have you as teachers.” Jimin looked sternly at Taehyung and raised an eyebrow. “I take that back. You’re probably very mean.”

Jimin looked like he was gonna protest, but Jeongguk gently interrupted him. “You are kinda mean sometimes, kitten. But I am too.”

“Speaking of families, though, is yours supportive, Jimin hyung?”

“I mean…” Jimin pursed his lips in thought and shrugged. “They’re not as bad as Gukkie’s but when I came out to them, they said they needed to get used to it … they still don’t have and it’s been about ten years.”

“Ugh, that’s so shitty.” Taehyung pouted. “I’m so sorry.”

Jeongguk waved it off. “Are your parents supportive, then?”

“Oh, Tae’s parents are amazing,” Jimin gushed, making the younger smile sheepishly.

“They really are.” Taehyung chuckled quietly, before organising the screws Jeongguk would need next for the closet. “My older brother came out gay when I was about, uh, twelve I think? I still remember him crying of relief when my parents told him they didn’t love him any less. At that point, I hadn’t really understood why it was such an important thing for your parents to approve of who they love. To this day I can’t say I know how it must feel if your parents don’t support you. I know it must hurt and I feel terrible for not being able to take that pain from you. But it also makes me so much more grateful for my parents who didn’t even bat an eyelid when I told them I was bi. They raised me and my siblings exactly this way. I already know my little siblings are gonna be amazing adults because they were raised in my family full of love and equality and have I said that I love my parents yet, because gosh, I do.” Taehyung bit his lip in an attempt to stop smiling so much, but he couldn’t help it. He had a big heart but the biggest part of it was reserved for his family. There was not a day in Seoul that he didn’t miss them. But he was an adult now and he knew he wouldn’t amount to anything if he kept leaching of his mother.

“That does sound wonderful,” Jeongguk replied. Both he and Jimin couldn’t help but smile too when they saw their boyfriend almost bursting from how much he loved his family. “I wish I had a family like that. But I’m glad you do, it’s what you deserve.”

Taehyung let out a low whine and immediately grabbed for Jeongguk’s hand. “But you do now, baby.” With his other hand, he reached for Jimin’s as well. “You too, kitten. I know it sounds cheesy but you are both parts of my family now. I know for a fact that my mother is gonna adore you because she loves all forms of art. And my dad is gonna love you as well because you’re far from being a nerd like Namjoon, my brother’s boyfriend. I mean, god, he still loves Namjoon as well, we all do. But for the first few months, he wouldn’t stop complaining about how my handsome brother had caught himself a science nerd. He always looked at me and joked ‘as the third most handsome man in this family you’ll have to snatch yourself a rich husband or wife.’”

Jeongguk snorted. “Your father has a ranking on who’s the most handsome in your family?”

“Of course.” Taehyung nodded enthusiastically. “He’s the most handsome and then Seokjin and then I. It doesn’t really say anything about our individual looks though. He always says you get more handsome the older you get. Which also means I’m always gonna be more handsome than my younger brother.”

Jimin watched as Taehyung’s smile turned into a slight frown after a few seconds and immediately reached out to cup his cheek. “You miss them a lot, don’t you?”

The blue haired man pressed his lips together. “I do. So much.” He turned around and grabbed his phone that he had put down somewhere on the carpet. Without a word he opened up his camera roll and scrolled to the most recent picture, he had taken with his whole family. It was a selfie which always was an event since it was a hassle to get everyone into the frame. He showed it to his boyfriends. “This is my mum and dad. This is my older brother Seokjin and his boyfriend, Namjoon. And this my Eunmi, she’s nine and my Yoobin, he’s thirteen.” He turned the phone so he could look at the picture himself. God, he missed Eunmi’s giggling and Yoobin’s bickering so much.

“What if we visit them on Christmas?” Jeongguk quietly proposed. Taehyung widened his eyes and stared at his boyfriend. “I mean, I’m sure you were gonna visit them anyways but … what if we all go together? As a triple?” The fact that Jeongguk even used the label Taehyung had once chosen for their relationship since “we’re too many people for a couple, we’re a triple”, made something bloom in the elder’s chest.

“But I don’t want to lie to my parents about who you are and-”

“So don’t,” the youngest interrupted gently. “From what you’ve said I gathered that they wouldn’t be anything but supportive, right? Anyways, we’ve been together for a few months now and isn’t that the time at which you introduce your partner to your parents?”

“Well normally you do that before you move in together,” Jimin said and ruffled through Jeongguk’s hair. “But I agree, I would love to meet your family, TaeTae.”

“But don’t you guys wanna visit your families on Christmas?”

“Honestly, no.” Jimin grimaced. “I love my parents but I’d rather spent a few days with you, Gukkie and your family. I can just drop by before or after Christmas for a day if my family wants to complain.”

Jeongguk nodded. “Same for me. I’m not that close to my family. Not at all, really. They were mad at me when they had to move to Seoul for the SBA, so now after my graduation, they moved back to Busan. I mean, they do love me or they wouldn’t have moved to Seoul in the first place but … it’s obvious I’m some kind of disappointment for them. Since I started working I’m trying to pay them back all they had to pay for school as I promised but it’s taking longer than it would’ve if I had become a professional.” Like every single time when Jeongguk mentioned his former dream, Taehyung couldn’t help but pout and lean towards him, to give him a kiss. It was a reflex at this point.

“I can’t speak for your parents but to us, you could never be a disappointment.” Taehyung pressed another kiss to Jeongguk’s cheek but the younger man only shrugged. Without hesitation, both Jimin and Taehyung began to fuss over their boyfriend. Needless to say, they didn’t end up building Jeongguk’s closet before dinner but instead curled up together on the sofa and doted on each other. It did result in stressing them out on the next day, but at that moment it was what they needed the most.

When Taehyung told his brother about his plan to bring his boyfriends home for Christmas, the elder acted quite sceptical.

“Are you sure? You do know how exhausting our family is, right?” he had said. Immediately Taehyung’s mind was flooded with worries. Seokjin was right. Their family had always been loud and exhausting. Taehyung was used to it, of course, didn’t know it any other way, but Jimin and Jeongguk? He knew that they would probably be a bit nervous about meeting his parents, since they had never really experienced the support of their families, but on top of that they would have to meet his siblings as well – and all of them were a handful, both the babies and Seokjin. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea after all?

He voiced his concerns to his brother, who just smiled at him devilishly. “Just introduce them to Joon and me first.”

“Why?”

“Well, because firstly, I have been bugging you to introduce them to us since you got together and secondly, so they’ll have a few more familiar faces in Daegu. I’m sure they’ll be much more comfortable if they have already met us beforehand.” It took Taehyung only a few seconds to realise that Seokjin had purposefully worried his younger brother so he could come up with the ‘perfect solution’ but the more he thought about it, the more his brother was , unfortunately, right.

So he talked about it with his boyfriends and one week later Seokjin and Namjoon were invited over to their place for dinner. The triple had insisted on hosting since they had discovered cooking together to be quite fun. Surprisingly, Jeongguk had turned out to be the best cook out of the three, even though Jimin had always fussed over him living off ramen only. When questioned about his former diet, Jeongguk had only shrugged and said that cooking for himself had always been a hassle and he preferred to cook for his boyfriends.

If Taehyung was nervous about his boyfriends meeting his brother and kind of brother in law, he had no reason to be. After only a few minutes, it felt like one of their family gatherings with Jimin and Jin immediately opening a wine bottle and discussing whether a pinot noir or a merlot tasted better, whilst Jeongguk told Namjoon about his passion for photography.

“That’s so amazing! I know it sounds kinda weird but would you wanna take pictures of me?” Namjoon asked excitedly after Jeongguk had shown him some of his most recent pictures. Taehyung could hear Seokjin mumble a defeated ‘oh my god’. “It’s just that I love taking walks and stuff and I love posting those tumblr-like pictures on my instagram account but at this point, Seokjin won’t take pictures of me anymore and selfies don’t fit my aesthetic.”

Taehyung’s brother groaned. “If I hear him say aesthetic one more time, I’m gonna eat my foot.”

Jimin started giggling softly – the alcohol already working wonders in his body – whilst Taehyung just rolled his eyes. “That’s considered vore, hyung. Please don’t.”

“Okay, then I’ll just exchange Joon for Jeongguk.”

“That wouldn’t change a thing,” Jimin replied, wiping tears of laughter off his red cheeks. “Gukkie is just as obsessed with his accounts aesthetic. Everything has to be almost black and white. Not black and white, just almost, you have to let the filter fade a bit. Every third picture is one of his tattoos, the others are usually some aesthetic pictures of the city at night or some stalker pictures of me, Yoongi or Tae. It’s rarely a selfie.”

“I guess it’s a family gene to fall in love with dorks then” Seokjin sighed and wrapped an arm around his younger brother. “Let’s just hope they die first, so we have a few years to ourselves.”

“We’re literally right next to you,” Namjoon said, sounding like he had witnessed this kind of conversation many times already he kind of did.

“I’m just hurt that you never asked me, Joon hyung.” Taehyung pouted slightly at his brother’s boyfriend. “I love photography, too! And I love to spend time with you without Jin, too!”

“That is probably my fault, I told him not to bother you with that,” Seokjin replied, smiling apologetically at both his boyfriend and brother. Taehyung only pouted again, making Jimin laugh quietly.

“Just do it both, you big babies. You can take Namjoon hyung with you on your next photography trip,” he said, shaking his head. Then into his wine glass, he mumbled: “I’m really dating a pair of children.”

“I think I’m gonna do it really quick like ripping off a bandaid,” Taehyung said as they started driving down the streets of his old neighbourhood. “Once everyone is in the room I’m just gonna say ‘hi, we’re all boyfriends, thanks for coming to my Ted talk’.”

Jimin laughed and hit Taehyung’s shoulder from where he was sitting in the backseat. “I think your parents would prefer more context.”

“Well, I did talk about you to my mum a few months ago. I told her my whole dilemma about being in love with two people at the same time but she didn’t really know how to help me either. When I told her you’d come for Christmas she was like ‘oh, the two boys you fell in love with? Who did you end up choosing?’ So I just told her, I’d tell her in person. So maybe she’s suspecting something? But I don’t know.”

“I feel like I’m gonna shit my pants,” Jeongguk mumbled, before Taehyung pointed at a big house, telling him to park in the driveway. “Yeah, no, I’m definitely shitting my pants.”

Taehyung giggled. “I’d prefer it if you don’t. My mum is a mother of four and she will smell it from miles away.” He quickly leaned over the middle console to peck the younger on the cheek. “Now let’s go inside before my siblings see the car and will come outside.” They got out of the car to grab their bags from the trunk and walked towards the front door. “Please don’t be scared, my family is the nicest. Baby, do you need me to hold your hand?”

Jeongguk shook his head quickly. “No,” he replied quietly, before adding: “I’m just gonna hold Jimin hyung’s.”

With a last smile at his boyfriends and a mouthed ‘I love you’, Taehyung rummaged in his pockets until he pulled out his keys. It only took him a second to unlock the door and step inside the house.

“I’M HOME!” Taehyung screamed at the top of his lungs, Jimin and Jeongguk jumping in surprise. Grinning he waved his boyfriends inside the house. When he heard two pair of feet running on the wooden floor, he quickly dropped his bag and opened his arms for his siblings to jump in.

Eunmi let out a loud, high pitched screech as she wrapped her arms around Taehyung’s neck. “Oppa! I missed you so much!”

“I missed you, too, Mimi,” he chuckled and pulled Yoobin closer picking him up as well. Jeongguk raised an eyebrow silently. Taehyung couldn’t carry their heavy groceries but managed to pick up two children just fine. Interesting. “You too, Binnie.”

Slowly Taehyung walked into the direction of the living room, knowing his boyfriends would follow him. Yoobin peaked over his shoulder. “Huyngie, who are those boys?”

“I’m gonna introduce them in a second, Binnie.” Taehyung let his siblings down when he entered the living room and found his parents cuddled together on the sofa. Seokjin was sitting in their only armchair with Namjoon perched in his lap. The two of them waved quietly at Jimin and Jeongguk who nervously smiled back.

When she noticed Jimin and Jeongguk awkwardly standing in the doorframe, Taehyung’s mum quickly rose to her feet. “Taehyung-ah, be a dear and introduce your friends, yes?”

“Of course, yes!” The blue haired man exclaimed and turned around to grab both Jimin and Jeongguk’s hands (the ones they had previously held). “Everyone, this is Jimin hyung and this is Jeongguk. They’re my boyfriends.”

For some time no one said anything. Then-

“I didn’t know you can have two boyfriends,” Eunmi said, oblivious as to why her parents were speechless.

Taehyung smiled gently. “You can have as many boyfriends or girlfriends as you’d like, Mimi.” He winked at her. “As long as they know of each other and consent.”

“Hmm.” Eunmi let her eyes glance over the two boys beside her brother, before standing in front of Jimin. “I choose him. He looks like he can cuddle well.”

“Uh, yeah, I’m good at that.” Jimin smiled at her brightly, when she started hugging his legs.

“Show me!” Slowly Jimin dropped his bag onto the floor and picked Eunmi up with ease. Without another word, he cuddled her into his chest. The little girl hummed in content. Then she looked at her youngest brother who was still standing behind their mother, watching the scene unfold. “You can’t choose him now, Binnie. He’s mine.”

Taehyung was about to scold his sister when Yoobin started frowning and abruptly marched over to Jeongguk. “Well, that sucks for you because mine is cooler anyways.” Yoobin normally wasn’t as touchy with strangers, so Taehyung truly felt like crying of joy when his brother reached out to take Jeongguk’s hand in his. To be completely honest, Jeongguk looked like crying as well.

“Taehyung-ah, come here for a second.” Taehyung’s mum waved him over to where she was still standing in the middle of the room. Suddenly nervous he stepped forward, looking at his mother questioningly. “So how long have you three been together?”

“Uh, two or three months? Something like that?” Before he could realise what was happening, his mother hit him on the back of his head. “Ow!”

“Kim Taehyung, do you know how worried I was? You called me crying over how you will never be able to love anyone again because you always fall for the wrong people and I couldn’t do a thing. I was so worried for months now. Seokjinnie wouldn’t tell me anything and I was about to go to Seoul myself to have a serious talk with the boys who broke your heart.” She let out a loud huff and grabbed Taehyung’s face in her hands. “And now you tell me that while I was losing my mind, you were off with your beautiful boyfriends?”

“I’m sorry, eomma.” The young man pouted his lips and looked at his mother apologetically.

“You know, I always tell you communication is key.” Behind Taehyung, Jeongguk snorted out a quiet laugh. She kissed her son’s forehead gently, before looking at Jimin and Jeongguk who both bowed politely in response. “Oh, you don’t have to be so polite. My name is Sora, but you can call me eomma.” Without hesitation, she pulled each of them into a hug and kissed their cheeks. “You can also call my husband abeoji but he probably won’t admit it.”

“Stop painting me as some cold-hearted jerk.” Taehyung’s father got up from the sofa and nudged his wife. “It’s nice to meet you, Jimin-ssi, Jeongguk-ssi. Even though I didn’t know you existed since no one ever tells me anything in this family.”

“It’s nice to meet you, too.” Jimin couldn’t help but bow politely, even though Sora had told them they didn’t need to. “It’s lovely to meet you all, actually. Taehyung has told us so many wonderful things about you.”

Sora laughed happily and pinched her son’s cheek. “You got yourself two adorable boys, Taehyung-ah.” She grinned at all of them. “Now that you’re here I can finally start cooking, too! Jimin-ah, Jeongguk-ah, would you mind helping me in the kitchen? I can’t trust Taehyung or my husband with knives and Seokjin and Namjoon wanted to go outside.”

“We’d love to help,” Jeongguk replied, smiling brightly.

“I wanna help too, eomma!” Yoobin exclaimed and immediately pulled Jeongguk with him to the kitchen.

Taehyung watched them fondly, before turning to Eunmi. “You wanna get your puzzles?” Eunmi nodded enthusiastically and started sprinting up into her room to grab her puzzles. Meanwhile, Taehyung sat down at the dining table from which he could see the open kitchen perfectly. Yes, maybe he had chosen this place because he was able to watch his boyfriends interact with his family. Sue him, he was a whipped man.

“Can we do the puppy one?” Before Taehyung could even react, Eunmi dumped the puzzle pieces of her chosen puzzle over the surface of the table.

“Of course,” he mumbled nevertheless and waited for her to sit down next to him. “Let’s find the corner pieces first, yeah?”

For a few minutes, they both worked quietly, finding the corner pieces and then pieces that fit together with them, while Taehyung listened in to the conversations in the kitchen. Jeongguk and Yoobin were put on vegetable duty, so they were sitting at the other end of the dining table, cutting up the vegetables. They were quietly chatting about Jeongguk’s tattoos and Yoobin’s friends as far as Taehyung could understand. It was absolutely adorable. He had guessed beforehand that his brother would love his boyfriends but this interaction made him melt inside.

“Oppa?” Eunmi asked as she was piecing together the puppy’s face. “What’s it like having two boyfriends?”

“It’s amazing, Mimi.” Taehyung smiled gently at her and tried not to glance at Jeongguk to check if he was listening. “I love it.”

“Do you get twice the kisses now?”

He chuckled loudly and could’ve sworn he heard Jeongguk laugh quietly as well. “I do, yeah.”

“And twice the cuddles?”

“Mmh.” He nodded while trying to search for one specific puzzle piece – which was a pain since the puppy’s fur looked almost identical on every single piece.

“And twice the special kisses?”

“What are special kisses?” Taehyung frowned in confusion.

Eunmi clicked her tongue in annoyance as if it was a sin for Taehyung not to know what she meant. “You know the kisses parents only give each other at night. Special kisses. So you get those twice too?” Taehyung immediately started coughing after choking on his saliva. Did his sister just- “Well, do you?”

“He does,” Jeongguk replied from the other end of the dining table, smiling devilishly at his boyfriend. “Jimin hyung and I make sure of that.” Taehyung couldn’t help but glance at Yoobin. When he saw the grimace his brother was making he burst out laughing.

“I think I’m gonna have nightmares forever,” Yoobin whined and pouted at leek he was cutting. Taehyung and Jeongguk laughed at him while everyone went back to their chores.

It was a few minutes later when a thought appeared on Taehyung’s mind. “Mimi, can you do me a favour?” Eunmi nodded silently. “I know you didn’t mean any harm but it kinda hurt oppa when you said you preferred Jimin over Jeongguk.”

“But I still love you the most,” Eunmi assured him, though confused.

“I know, sweetie, but I love Jeonggukkie so much, I don’t want him to think you love Jimin more than him. You don’t wanna make him sad, right? I know you don’t, you're not like that. I just want you to pay attention to what you say, yeah?” Eunmi’s eyebrows pulled together like they did when she was close to crying as a toddler. “Mimi, I’m not scolding you, okay? Please don’t think I am. I just wanna make sure you don’t end up spending time only with Jimin and not Jeongguk.”

“Okay,” Taehyung’s sister mumbled, her voice wavering a bit.

“Ah, I didn’t wanna spoil the mood, sweetie.” From the corner of his eyes, Taehyung could see Jeongguk grimacing a bit. He probably couldn’t understand why Taehyung had talked to Eunmi about this. “But you wanna know a secret? Jeonggukkie is really really strong, so when we take a walk tomorrow, he might carry you on his shoulders.”

Eunmi’s eyes widened comically. “Really? But appa said I’m too big for that.”

“For appa maybe, but Jeonggukkie can even carry me and I’m way bigger than you.” Taehyung winked at his sister, before glancing at his boyfriend again. Jeongguk was still looking down at the vegetable he was cutting, but he had a faint smile on his lips. Yeah, this was working out perfectly.

“How the fuck are we supposed to fit in there?” Jeongguk asked as they were all standing in front of Taehyung’s twin sized bed. They had changed into their sleeping attire already which meant nothing but their underwear for Jimin and Jeongguk and two-piece pyjamas for Taehyung. “Literally how?”

“It’s not that hard, we’ll just have to play a little Tetris.” Taehyung chuckled and pushed Jeongguk onto the mattress. “Look, baby, you’ll just scoot over till you’re against the wall and then I’ll just-” He rolled himself onto the bed as well until he collided with Jeongguk. “And then Jiminie hyung.”

“If you push me off the bed during the night, I’ll kill you,” Jimin laughed as he slipped under the covers next to his boyfriends. It was indeed a tight fit but if the didn’t move much, it could work.

“Look? It’s cosy.” Taehyung giggled quietly as he laid in the middle of the bed on his back, while his boyfriends were on their sides facing him. Jimin hummed quietly as he placed his head on top of Taehyung’s chest. “How was today? Was it as bad as you thought?”

“What? No, of course not,” Jimin replied. “Your family is just as nice as you told us.”

Taehyung glanced at Jeongguk who nodded at him and started playing with his hair gently. “I like them. They really made me feel like I’m part of your family.”

“Because you are, baby.”

“I know, it’s just … I haven't been this comfortable around my family for a long time.” Taehyung couldn’t help but pout and pull Jeongguk down to kiss him softly. As their lips moved against each other, Jimin traced patterns on Taehyung’s stomach. The youngest smiled slightly as they pulled apart and whispered against his boyfriend’s lips: “You make it better. You both do.”

Jimin let out a whining sound as he propped himself up to lean over Taehyung and give the youngest a kiss as well. “You know you have been my family since I was 18.”

“I’m glad you were my best friend, kitten”, Jeongguk mumbled as he laid his head down on the pillow and slightly buried his nose in Taehyung’s blue hair. “I’m glad to have the both of you in my life. I think I might’ve broken down at some point if I hadn't met you, sunshine.”

“Oh my god, why are we being so sappy?” Taehyung pouted before kissing both his boyfriends noisily on the mouth. “I love you both so much.”

Jimin smiled and snuggled into Taehyung’s chest. “I love you, too.”

“I love you three.”
