Chapter Text
When Jimin wakes up the next morning thinking that the events of the last day were all a dream. He knows that once he opens his eyes Yoongi won’t be there, knows that he’ll be in his bed, duvet pulled up to his chin and window blinds drawn up to the top to allow sunlight into the room. He doesn’t want to wake up; doesn’t want to be without Yoongi.
But there’s a heavy feeling on his chest, there are arms draped across him pulling him into an embrace and he smells vanilla. He smells Yoongi.
It feels too real and he finds himself whining. Now his mind was just playing cruel tricks on him.
“Baby,” There’s a gruff voice laced with sleep, Jimin easily recognizes it as Yoongi’s and snaps his eyes open.
And there he is. Hair all messed up from sleeping, cheeks puffy and eyes barely open. Yoongi is here it’s not just a dream. It’s real.
“What’s wrong?” Yoongi asks tightening his hold on Jimin a bit hiding his face in the crook of the Omega’s neck. “Did you have a bad dream?”
Jimin shakes his head smiling softly when he realizes this indeed isn’t a dream. He just needs to start believing. Yoongi is here and he’s here. They’re together.
“I’m fine,” he whispers leaning forward to give Yoongi a kiss on the top of his hair.
“It feels weird now that we’re back together that I don’t have to sneak out of your room before dawn.” Yoongi laughs pulling away from Jimin. The Omega can see the smile placed on his face. “I think I like this better. I like not having to leave you to wake up alone anymore.”
“I do too.” Jimin agrees looking down at his stomach placing a hand on it. “Waking up next to you is the highlight of this day already.”
“Is it now?” Jimin can feel how Yoongi barks out a laugh at his comment. “From now on I’ll have to wake up next to you every day, won’t I?”
Jimin moves his gaze slowly from his stomach back to Yoongi, “Of course. You can’t leave me to wake up alone again.”
“Whatever you say, my dear.” He pushes himself to sit up, arms unraveling from where they were wrapped around Jimin’s smaller frame. Jimin whines at the loss of contact. “Needy little Omega, aren’t you?”
Jimin pouts, arms crossing over his chest. “I have the right to be after being deprived for weeks of your touch.”
“Okay. Okay. You have a valid point.” Yoongi replies, “But we should go to breakfast. You have another person to feed beside yourself.”
Jimin whines, knowing Yoongi is right but still not wanting to get out of bed. It's comfortable and all he wants right now is Yoongi to cuddle him because he's been deprived for much longer than he would have liked. But he knows Yoongi won't do it now, not with breakfast calling their names and an unborn child that needs to get its food.
"I want cuddles afterward." Jimin requests, sitting up in the bed throwing his legs over until they're bent in front of him so he can stand up. He pushes himself off the mattress, raising arms up in front of him to stretch to release all the sleepy tension out of his body.
"Sure Minnie." Yoongi casts him a smile. "Anything you want."
***
"What do you think the baby's gender is?" Jimin asks Yoongi as they lay in their bed together after breakfast. Hoseok and Taehyung had been attending a meeting so they couldn't join them. So it was just Namjoon, Yoongi and himself.
He remembers Namjoon mentioning that Jeongguk would be arriving shortly in the afternoon leaving Jimin buzzing with excitement to meet the man who helped with reuniting him and Yoongi. He had a lot to thank him for and very few words to do so.
"Honestly," Yoongi says bringing his hand down onto Jimin's belly. He rests it there, in hopes that maybe the baby would kick. Maybe he'd be able to feel his child. But for now, there's nothing. "I'm not sure. And I don't really care what the gender is. He or she will be beautiful and amazing and I'm happy that we're bringing a new life to the world."
Jimin hums at Yoongi's response, finding himself happy and satisfied with the answer. He knew this man was perfect for him.
"What about you Minnie?" Yoongi asks the same question back head tilting in curiosity.
Jimin has to think about it. He never really thought about it. Never thought that he would have to worry about having a child this early and now that he is...he completely forgot to think about what he would want. He laughs, that almost sounds wrong to think.
Though he finds himself wanting both. A little boy and a little girl. Maybe he finds himself wanting a little girl more. Being able to help her design her dresses, doing her hair and make-up. Jimin likes to think he'll be a good dad for a future daughter. But then...he also wants a son. Someone Yoongi can play around with; someone Yoongi is able to train.
He doesn't care what gender the baby is. Doesn't care that most would want him to have a little boy first to rule the kingdom in the future. Because Jimin knows, if his firstborn is a little girl. She will become the future Queen of his kingdom.
If he still has his kingdom.
"I'm not sure either," Jimin replies suddenly. "I'm going to be fine no matter what. I just can't believe we're going to be parents."
"We are parents, Minnie. Just because the baby isn't born yet doesn't change anything." Yoongi says leaning down to kiss Jimin.
It's not hard to kiss Yoongi back. Not hard to fall in love with his kisses. Every time they do kiss it makes Jimin's heart stutter, makes his stomach fill with butterflies. It reminds him of the first time they kissed. The first time Jimin fell in love with the Alpha.
"I love you," Jimin says, as Yoongi pulls away from the kiss. "I love you more than you know."
"And I love you Jimin. I love you to the moon and back." Yoongi places a kiss on Jimin's nose.
They sit like that for a few moments, enjoying each other's company. Enjoying that they have each other. And Jimin knows that he won't let Yoongi get taken away from him again.
There's a loud amount of commotion outside of their bedroom door. Voices talking back and forth to each other but Jimin can't figure out what anyone's saying. Doesn't care enough to really figure out either. But then their bedroom door is being thrown open and Seokjin comes storming in eyes blown wide and it looks like he's out of breath.
"Jin-Hyung?" Yoongi speaks first, the exact words dying in Jimin's mouth before he's a chance to say them. "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry. I tried to keep them away longer." He says, apologetic look washing over his face. Jimin tenses underneath Yoongi's touch. He knows where this is going, can tell by Seokjin's face; his words.
His parents are here.
***
The people in the palace are chaotic almost. Rushing through the halls trying to tidy up everything even though everything is already clean. It's as if this is their first time hosting a King and Queen of another kingdom. Jimin doesn't understand why they're trying so hard. No ever pleases his parents.
Not even him.
Yoongi helps him dress into something nice. Something different than his usual outfits. Dull colours were common in his kingdom; here everything is different. Dark colours don't belong in this palace, and neither do Jimin's parents.
He can feel Namjoon's presence behind them as they walk to greet them. Jimin can't begin to understand why Namjoon was bothering to follow them, but then it hits him that technically in the presence of his parents Namjoon is still his bodyguard.
"When does Jeongguk arrive?" Jimin finds himself asking. Maybe if he distracts himself from where he's going he won't hate it as much. He doesn't want to hear his parents pleads for him to come home; not when he knows they won't allow Yoongi to come with.
"Hopefully within the hour." Namjoon answers back, "Last we spoke he was nearby. It shouldn't take too much longer. Why do you ask?"
"I feel I need to prove to my parents that Yoongi and I can be together. You three are just the couple I need help from."
"I'm sorry. I don't follow."
"My parents don't want me with Yoongi. You know that. He's...a lower class. He's not royalty like you. But you, you're with not one but two princes and you've made it work. Your classes don't change anything. Like you said Namjoon. Love is love. I just hope my parents can come to realize that."
There's a breeze outside when Jimin steps out the front door. He can feel the eyes of his parents and their guards staring him down. Can almost smell the anger and emotions pooling off of them. He wants to sigh but he doesn't. Wants to go back to bed and cuddle with Yoongi but he can't.
For now, It's time to confront his parents, and he refuses to go down this time without a fight.
"Jimin!" His mother cries as he steps off the final step leading towards his parents. She carelessly runs forward and throws herself at the Omega wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. "We were so worried when you weren't in your room yesterday. And then your guard was gone too. We thought something bad happened to you."
"I'm fine Mother," Jimin replies bringing his own hands up to hug her back. "There was no need to worry."
"Of course there was. You're the Prince." She cries again tightening her grip. Jimin frowns. Of course, she only cared because of his title, because if the Prince went missing chaos was sure to ensure. "And because you're my son. If something happened to you...I don't know what I'd do Jimin. We love you, don't you know that?"
Sometimes it feels like you don't, Jimin wants to say. But he bites his tongue before the words slip out. "How did you find me?" He asks instead once his mother finally let's go of him. He exhales a small breath of relief instinctively moving back a step, closer to Yoongi.
"I'm sure you know the answer to that question, son." His Father answers before giving his wife a chance. "Don't you?"
Jimin frowns, lips curling into downwards. That's what Seokjin meant when he said he tried to keep them away longer. He must have accidentally fessed up. He sighs but can't bring himself to be mad at the Alpha. Jimin's sure he wanted to be back with Namjoon and Jeongguk. If the roles had been reversed he might have done the same.
"Come home with us, Jimin." His mother pleads, eyes sad and begging. "You belong there, not here."
Jimin acts like he debates it, lifts his head up to look at Yoongi before he looks back down again. "Does Yoongi get to come back? The father of my child. Does he also get a place back at home? By my side as the person, I want to marry."
"Jimin," His mother begins and Jimin already knows where this is going another sigh escaping his lips. "You know how things work. You have to-"
"Namjoon! Seokjin!" A voice calls cutting his mother off.
Jimin looks towards the left where he sees a tall make with bouncing raven hair run towards Namjoon and Seokjin. He gives a confused look up at Yoongi who only smiles, "That would be Prince Jeongguk. Namjoon and Seokjin's boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Jimin hears his mother say, shock evident in her voice.
He doesn't turn to look at her though, instead, his eyes are locked on the way the three of them all smile and kiss one another as though this is their first meeting in years.
Jimin can't help smile the three of them, happiness coursing his body knowing they're all back together finally after weeks of being away. He can relate after all, since that's how it was with Yoongi.
He waits until they finish hugging, kissing and being with each other before he clears his throat and makes a motion that his parents are right there. He doesn't miss the way all three of then flush in embarrassment.
"Prince Jimin!" Jeongguk calls, walking towards him with Namjoon's hand in his own. Seokjin's hand in the other. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"And you," Jimin says, offering a smile. "Thank you for letting us borrow your boyfriends."
He can't help but laugh as Jeongguk does too, "Of course. Always happy to help."
For a moment he forgets his parents are even there, just enjoying the company of another relationship like his. But then…
"Excuse me." His mother speaks up drawing their attention to them. "Prince Seokjin, you mean to tell us you're already in a relationship? With a Prince and a bodyguard?"
"Correction." Seokjin says, "I'm in a relationship with two people I love and care about very much. I do not care about ranks, nor do my parents. We make it work, we all love each other the same and no one has problems with it."
"Love is love," Jeongguk adds squeezing both his lovers hands. "Anyone can be taught to run a kingdom. But you can't teach someone how to love someone they don't."
"If you wish for Jimin to be a successful ruler don't force him to marry someone he doesn't love. Don't force him and the father of his child away." Namjoon says glancing at Jimin and Yoongi. "Being away from Yoongi will only be a weakness of Jimin's. It will only make things harder."
"But royalty is to marry royalty." Jimin's mother begins. "It's how it's always been."
"Maybe," A new voice says. Jimin recognizes it as Taehyung's. He smiles. Their meeting must be over finally. "But things change through time. Did you love your husband before you married him?"
"Yes. I did."
"What if you were to marry someone else?" Taehyung asks, "What if even though you loved him you couldn't marry him because your parents wanted you with someone else? Do you think you would have been able to do it? Give up on love? On happiness for the sake of your parents?"
"I…" Jimin's mother seems at a loss of words. Jimin can't help smile a tiny bit. He didn't expect them to help him this much.
"Jimin will be a good ruler," Hoseok says placing a hand on the Omega's shoulder. Jimin flashes a smile at him. "He's strong-willed and knows how to run the kingdom. He's done everything you've asked of him. Let him make this choice himself. Grant him that much. If you can trust him with an entire kingdom; you can trust him to choose husband."
He watches as his mother opens her mouth to say something. But before words spill out his father places a hand on her shoulder and speaks. "My dear, I think they're right. There are some things that our son must do himself. And if that's choosing who to love than so be it. I understand you may not like it, you may not approve of his choice. But honey, his choice has been made and you have to accept it."
Jimin blinks, fresh tears forming in his eyes, "Father, I-"
"Son, your mother may not like this. She may not approve for a long while. And while this is different, something our kingdom is not used to...I trust you to make the correct choices as a future ruler." He says offering a small smile. "Yoongi will have to go through training. He'll have to take lessons, same as you. But I do believe you'll be good together. I believe that this can work; that you two can work."
Jimin turns and stares at Yoongi; tears beginning to fall down his eyes at the news. At knowing that he can be with Yoongi, and Yoongi with him. He can't help himself when he leans forward and crashes their lips together. Beside them, the other five erupt into cheers and claps, congratulations for what's happened.
He can't believe it's happened.
He and Yoongi are together. Now and forever.
***
It was hard at first. Yoongi came back to their bedroom every day exhausted and ranting about the different things he had to learn and he didn't understand the point of it all when all he was doing was ruling from the palace. But every time Jimin just giggled and gave him a kiss saying he was proud of him.
His mother was still reluctant about the whole thing. But she was excited to plan the wedding, excited to finally see her son walk down the aisle to his forever. And even if she didn't fully approve she would be lying if she didn't cry during their vows.
The kingdom accepted it wholeheartedly; cheering and being overjoyed knowing their Prince had found love and was soon expecting. There were many parties when the news was first announced about the engagement.
Every time he retires to his room, Jimin can't help but smile when he knows he'll wake up in Yoongi's arm. Every morning a delicate kiss getting pressed to his cheek before they carry on with their days.
He knows once they become the Kings everything will be harder. Knows that they'll stress more than anything.
But…
They'll be fine, Jimin thinks as he looks down at his daughter - Haru, they named her. It may take a while before they get everything under control, and Jimin knows he'll have to rely on his parents a lot even as King.
But they'll be fine.
Of course, they will be. Because with Yoongi and Haru with him...he's content. He's happy. And that's all Jimin needs.
