Chapter Text
As the two start their journey back to their apartment after spending an eternity debriefing with Miruko, the other pros, and the police about the mission and an excruciatingly long healing process, Eijirou bumps shoulders with Katsuki, “I can’t believe it took you six years to confess, dude.”
Rolling his eyes, Katsuki huffs, “Fuck you.”
“Damn, Katsuki, that’s moving awfully fast. At least buy me dinner first.” Eijirou raises an eyebrow, smirk evident on his lips, obviously amused by his own joke.
Katsuki just wrinkles his nose, shooting Eijirou an unimpressed look, “You’re fucking disgusting, I immediately regret this decision. I take it all back, I hate you and I have never felt a single positive emotion towards you.”
“Sure, Katsuki," Eijirou's face is far too smug as he reaches over to lace their fingers together. “You know anywhere we can elope at this time of night?”
Groaning, Katsuki brings their intertwined hands up to his lips, placing a soft kiss there. “You know that fucking Deku and our idiots would throw a goddamn fit if they weren’t invited to our wedding, Eijirou. We actually have to plan this shit out and wait like a couple of assholes. It’s unbelievable.” He shakes his head, small smile playing on his lips.
Playfully incensed, Eijirou juts out his bottom lip in a pout, “This is bullshit! I’ve waited years for this, I’ve earned a shotgun wedding at midnight after almost killing you in a fight! It’s my right! I’ve paid my dues!”
“You are so fucking stupid, I can’t believe I get to marry you.”
“Don’t you mean ‘I can’t believe I have to marry you’?”
Katsuki turns his head, eyes soft and expression fond, and runs a thumb over the back of Eijirou’s hand. “I said what I said.”
“Goddammit, now I’m gonna start crying again. That’s not fair! You’re an ass!”
“Too bad, you knew what you were signing up for.”
As their eyes meet, Eijirou’s small, affectionate smile returns, “Yeah, I did.”
Katsuki wonders for the thousandth time what he ever did to deserve this wonderful man.

Once they finally get back to their apartment, Eijirou can’t help but let out a laugh as he takes in their disheveled appearances, “God, just once, just once, I’d like us to get dressed up in nice suits and not have them be completely ruined by the end of the night.”
Katsuki cuts his eyes at the redhead, “Yeah, well, you’ll just have to wait until our wedding, I guess.” When Eijirou breaks out into that blinding grin that rivals the sun, Katsuki can’t help mirroring it, heart thumping in his chest.
Katsuki knows that this ordeal will continue to haunt them both for different reasons, but just like with everything else they’ve dealt with thus far, they’ll get through it. Together.
After all this time, he’s finally starting to accept that he does deserve this.
He deserves happiness.
He deserves to heal.
He deserves love.
He deserves Eijirou.
