Chapter Text
Part 2
Back inside their classroom, everyone is trying to make sense of what had occurred a few minutes ago. Onodera is still in shock and is repeating herself over and over.
"Miyazaki's dead, Miyazaki's dead, Mr. Miyazaki's dead!" she whimpered.
"Miyazaki can't die," Josuke said. "How can Miyazaki die?"
"He was the first suspect, it's my fault," Fubuki said. "The second I suspected him, I signed his death warrant."
"Well, is anyone of us safe?" Ichikawa asked desperately.
"Yes, virgins. Virgins never die."
"Alright!" Josuke grinned and turned to Onodera, "Thanks for saving me."
Onodera gave him a dirty look.
"Cool! I'm dead," Okuyasu smiled.
Koichi looked down sadly. "I'm dead too…"
"Well… how sick can you get without actually dying?" Fubuki said, coughing nervously.
"I can't believe all you boys are big perverts!" Onodera said in disgust.
Ichikawa grinned. "Miyazaki… he's dead."
Josuke and Okuyasu began doing a little dance.
"Hey, Hey, Heeey!" they chanted. "Go sensei, go sensei! Go, go, go, go sensei--"
"Okay!" Koichi yelled so they could stop. "Listen, as happy as I am for Mr. Miyazaki, I am scared to death here. What do we do?"
"Alright, let's calmly recap," Fubuki said.
"Hazamada's dead, Miyazaki's dead, we're trapped inside with the killer!" Okuyasu yelled in an uncalmly and fast-spoken way.
"So, basically we have to figure out who the killer is," Koichi said.
"Yeah, we should spit up," Ichikawa suggested.
"Wrong," Fubuki said.
"Okay, fine. We'll just stay right here, we'll all be fine."
All of a sudden, ominous squeaks were heard outside the classroom. Everyone looked at the door in fear.
"Don't. Don't say it!" Fubuki said.
"Tamami is the killer!" Josuke declared.
"And that's the end of Tamami."
"Oh, stop being crazy. He has to be, there's no other reason he'd be a janitor."
"Yeah, Fubuki," Onodera stepped in. "You we're wrong about Miyazaki, and you're wrong about this."
"You were wrong to break up with Josuke!" Fubuki yelled angrily at her.
"W-what does that have to do with anything?" she asked, surprised.
"Did any of this happen when you two were together?"
"No."
"You've killed us. You've killed us all."
Okuyasu went over to Fubuki so he could lay off from Onodera.
"Hey, now you're overreacting, man," he said. "There's only been two people that are horribly dead, that's an expectable loss."
The squeaking sound is getting louder and Ichikawa is getting more terrified.
"Oh, my god, he's coming closer, he's coming closer!" she screamed.
"Come on, let's get out of here!" Koichi yelled, opening the door.
Everyone ran out screaming. Ichikawa pointed and screamed at a lonely bin rolling down the hallway.
"You know you're really good at that," Koichi said sarcastically, getting annoyed at her screaming.
"Thank you!" Ichikawa smiled stupidly.
Josuke looked around for Tamami. "Where is he?"
"He's probably on his way," Okuyasu said.
Fubuki walked to the bin and peered inside.
"I don't think so," he said. "Ichikawa?"
"Yeah?" she perked up.
"Are you sick of screaming?"
"... Yes."
"Then don't look in here."
Everyone but Ichikawa looked inside the bin and they all scream.
"There's like fifteen retainers in there!" Okuyasu said.
Fubuki lifted up a dead Tamami in his janitor's uniform to show them. "And this."
All eyes turn to Ichikawa, waiting for her to scream. She did. Fubuki then put Tamami's dead body back in the bin and rolled it away.
"Wait a second, the killer's dead," Okuyasu said, realizing. "We're off the hook!"
"I don't get it, it had to be Tamami," Koichi said.
"There's nobody else in here, is there?" Josuke gulped.
They all looked behind them. There is no one else in the hall. As they turn back in relief, the person in the scary costume ran by silently.
"Alright, how do you explain this?" Onodera asked.
"Easy," Fubuki said, adjusting his glasses. "The death of Tamami signifies the end of the last of the obvious suspects, just like in the cult classic, 'The Last Of The Obvious Suspects' ."
Ichikawa gasped. "That would mean…"
"Dun dun duuun!" Okuyasu interrupted ominously.
"The killer is one of us," Josuke said.
"Like in 'The Killer's One Of Us' ," Fubuki nodded.
"Dun dun duuun!" Okuyasu interrupted again.
"Enough already!" Onodera cried.
Fubuki and Josuke both stare at her suspiciously.
"What, do we upset you?" Fubuki asked.
"Yes!" Onodera said.
Josuke raised one of his eyebrows. "Upset you enough… to kill?"
"Josuke, you can't possibly mean--"
"Dun dun duuun!" Okuyasu interrupted once more. Onodera has enough of his shenanigans and elbowed him in the stomach. He coughed in pain. "Sorry! I'm done! Done!"
"Okay, I think we need to face it," Josuke said slowly as he walked around everyone. "Everybody… one of us… is a crazy… psychopathic… MURDERER. The question is, which one of us is it?"
Ichikawa gave Josuke an evil eye. Fubuki and Onodera looked at each other suspiciously. Koichi looked at Okuyasu funny as Okuyasu is picking his nose.
"Look none of us is the killer," Onodera spoke, trying to be rational here. "There has to be somebody else in here, and there has to be another way out. Somebody has to find a way out."
"Fine. I'll do it," Koichi volunteered. "I'm the oldest."
"Actually, I'm the oldest," Fubuki said.
"Yeah, but I've lived the longest."
"Okay, you can be the one."
"Alright, so you know… wait, what just happened here?"
"You get to stay out here all by yourself," Josuke said.
Everyone patted Koichi on the back for good luck. Then they all run inside the classroom and shut the door.
Koichi realized what he just volunteered himself into. Frightened, he looked around the empty hallway, wondering where and how the killer will strike. His heart pounded faster and he began to sweat…
Someone tapped him on the shoulder. "Koichi."
"AAAAHH!!" Koichi became spooked. When he turned around to see his girlfriend Yukako, he screamed again.
"Koichi?"
"Killer! Killer! You're the killer!" Koichi yelled. "And I know you're going to tell me you're not the killer, and because you're beautiful! You think I'm going to believe you but I'm not! It's just like that movie, 'Killer, Killer, You're The Killer'! And I know you're going to tell me that…"
"I'm not the killer," Yukako assured him.
"I believe you."
Koichi embraced Yukako and kissed her all over.
"I was in study hall, and got locked in," Yukako explained. "I wasn't scared, but I heard a lot of screaming… I'm glad I found you here, Koichi. You seemed happy to see me."
"Happy enough to keep you safe from the bad killer man," Koichi paused from his kissing.
The others peeked through the open classroom door at Koichi and Yukako.
"She doesn't look like the killer type to me," Okuyasu said.
"Me neither," Josuke said.
"She kidnapped Koichi and me before, remember?" Fubuki reminded them in a grumpy tone.
"Oh yeah…"
They all walked out to regroup with Koichi and Yukako.
"You can hang out with us, Yukako," Josuke said.
"Yeah, as long as we all hang out together, we'll all be safe," Onodera said.
"I don't fully understand what's going on," Yukako said. "But I'll keep Koichi safe."
A phone hanging on the wall rang and Yukako suddenly screamed. Ichikawa looked at her, and she screamed.
"That's right," she said, snapping her fingers. "I am the screamer around here."
Koichi answered the phone. "Hello?
"Do you like scary movies?" a spooky voice said. "What's your favorite?"
"Oh, I don't really like scary movies."
"... What a baby. I'm hanging up."
"W-wait! Does Michael Jackson's Thriller count?"
"Guys, we can use the phone to help us," Josuke said.
"That's a great idea!" Okuyasu said. He took the phone from Koichi, ripping the phone from the cord. "When we find out who the killer is, we can hit'em with this!"
Everyone looked at him and Okuyasu finally realized his own stupidity.
"Oh... oops."
The phone started ringing again, despite being ripped off from the cord. There is tension in the air as Okuyasu slowly answered whoever is calling them.
"Hello? Oh hey…" He put the phone down to tell the others. "It's the killer."
Everyone looked at each other in fear as Okuyasu kept talking to him. Okuyasu seemed to be getting bored because he kept putting his fingers up like the killer was talking too much.
"Yeah… alrighty… Bye." Okuyasu sighed. "Whew, on and on."
"Well, what did he say?" Josuke asked.
"He said what all killer's say," Okuyasu replied. "He wants to come here, he wants to kill us, and he wants us to wait right here."
Everyone decided to screw it and ran away. Okuyasu threw the cordless phone over his shoulder.
*&*&*
Everyone made their way inside the school library and it is dark, almost impossible to see.
"Alright everybody," Fubuki announced. "As much as this goes against my horror movie instincts, I think we should split up. That way the killer can't get to us all at once. If the killer goes after one group, the others will go after him… Which means... We'll be attacking from both sides at once."
"But, Fubuki, the last time people did that," Josuke protests, "someone was thrown into a giant clock tower, and another person gets stabbed in the throat!"
"... What are you talking about?"
"I don't know!"
Fubuki gave him a deadpan look and pulled on his ear for speaking such nonsense. Everyone split up into groups of two. Soon enough, Josuke is alone with Yukako. They are unaware that Onodera is walking nearby and is spying on them.
"You know, I don't understand why anyone would do this to us," Josuke wondered out loud. "I mean we're good kids. Why? For what reason?"
"Hey, we're all scared," Yukako reassured him. "But don't worry, we'll get out of this."
Yukako patted Josuke on the arm and he smiled. Yukako heard a noise and she looked up. Fifteen books from the top shelf fall on her. As they do, she screams. Josuke saw a figure of the killer behind the shelf and he ran after him. Koichi ran to where he heard Yukako screaming. He stopped in horror when he saw his girlfriend covered in books. She looked seriously injured.
"Yukako!" Koichi screamed in despair and he kneeled next to her. "Don't worry! I'll find Josuke! He'll save you!"
"It's too late…" Yukako groaned weakly. She is in a lot of pain. "But I think I know who the killer is."
"Save your breath, Yukako. There'll be plenty of time for that later."
"Koichi, I'm dying."
"Oh, right! Okay, um maybe you should tell me now."
"I caught a glimpse of the killer, just before the books hit me. The killer is…"
Koichi then looked up to see more books fall. He screamed before they hit him. Okuyasu and Ichikawa run over and see Koichi and Yukako dead on the floor and covered in books.
"Koichi! Yukako!" Okuyasu cried, now upset. "I didn't really know Yukako that well, but Koichi is my friend! He helped me study Social Studies! Now I won't be able to pass all my Social Studies tests! Wait… if I can't pass all my Social Studies tests… then I don't want to live!!"
Okuyasu ran to the window. Ichikawa realized what he was about to jump. She ran after him to stop him as he was about to.
"Wait!" she cried. "Fubuki is still your classmate! He's smart, he can help you pass Social Studies!"
"Oh, yeah!" Okuyasu said. Then a lightbulb flickered on inside his mind. "Hang on, why are we even running away from a killer? We're all Stand users! We can beat him up!"
"That's right! Let's go back inside now--"
Unfortunately for them, the killer pushed them off from the window sill. They scream while they fall to their deaths. Before the killer could leave, Josuke, Fubuki, and Onodera rushed over to block him.
"Why are you doing this to us?!" Josuke yelled.
The killer walked up to Josuke and Onodera to put their hands together, much to their confusion. Fubuki ripped the mask from the killer's face.
The killer ended to be… another Fubuki, almost a double. Everyone is too shocked to speak.
"Fubuki…?" Josuke looked at his friend. "Hey, Fubuki…?"
*&*&*
Fubuki opened his eyes. He was still in detention. Everyone in class is looking at him. They are all alive.
"Josuke?" he looked around. "What's going one?"
"You fell asleep," Josuke told him. "Miyazaki's looking at you like he's going to kill you."
Miyazaki is at the front. He staring dangerously at Fubuki while tapping his fingers on his desk. There are no bloody messages on the blackboard. The whole thing was a dream. Yet…
"No, he's not the killer," Fubuki said. "I am."
"What?" Josuke asked, confused.
Fubuki stood up and walked to Miyazaki's desk.
"Mr. Miyazaki, you can let everyone else go," he said. "It's not their fault we're in detention. It's mine."
"How do you figure that?" the squinty-eyed teacher asked.
"Well, Josuke and Onodera aren't together anymore. I guess I've been taking it pretty hard… I'm sorry I disrupted the class and killed everyone…"
"Huh?" Hazamada blinked, wondering what the heck he's talking about.
"But I think I know why I did it," Fubuki continued. He turned to Josuke and Onodera. "You being together makes Josuke happy, and he was my best friend since childhood… And if you're not together, it makes me upset to see Josuke sad… And it really makes me angry that there's nothing I can do to fix that."
"Fubuki, you got it all wrong," Josuke said.
"What do you mean?"
"Josuke and I are still together," Onodera said, blushing. She is holding Josuke's hand. "We're already planning our second date."
"Wait, so I dreamed of you two breaking up too?" Fubuki asked. "This doesn't make sense."
"Something bad happened, Fubuki," Miyazaki said. "But you're not responsible."
"Then how come I still feel bad?"
"Well, because you're a troubled young man. I recognize that from the movie, 'A Troubled Young Man'," Miyazaki smiled. "You may all go, it's obvious that you have suffered enough."
Everyone got up to leave the classroom.
"I can't believe I missed track practice for this," Onodera muttered.
"How about I treat you for a drink at Deux Magots?" Josuke suggested, still holding her hand.
"Oh, I'd like that~"
"Ugh, I wished I was back in that dream…" Fubuki grumbled in disgust at the lovey-dovey sight.
Miyazaki is the last to leave. As he exits, he turned off the lights and shut the door. A few seconds later… a strange shrouded figure got up from under the teacher's desk. It opened the door and left as well.
*&*&*
The next day, Miyazaki is ecstatic when his students are speaking English perfectly from reading Hamlet out loud. His students then praising him for his teachings...
However, Miyazaki is actually dreaming all of it and he was rudely awakened by the class laughing and throwing paper at each other.
"What the--?!" Miyazaki yelled over the noise. "Hey! What happened to reading about Hamlet?!
"You got tired listening to us," Fubuki said. He was the only one not laughing or throwing paper. He is reading his textbook with a bored expression. "You fell asleep just before Polonius gets stabbed."
A random paper plane hit Miyazaki on the face. He grabbed hold of a pair of scissors. He trembled in rage as he stared at all the crazy chaos around him.
To murder, or not murder? he thought darkly. That is the question...
<-- To be continued…?
