Chapter Text

Who Doesn't Know

It's been a few weeks since the night on the rooftop. Well, three and a half weeks to be exact and the two have not said anything to their friends yet. It's not that they were trying to hide it, they just haven't found the time to properly announce it yet. Jungkook and Namjoon have been spending the past few weeks cooped up in each other's apartments, walking along the river at night, getting coffee or going to the older's rooftop to just hang out. Of course they weren't always alone together, sometimes when they're in Namjoon or Jungkook's apartment, they have freinds over or when they stay at Jungkook's apartment, he has his roommates with them. Not to mention Jungkook still has work, and Namjoon was occupied with his as well.

The two were cuddling in Jungkook's couch, they're friends are also with them, watching anime as they're legs are tangled under the huge blanket, hidden to his friends view. Along the duration of the anime, Jungkook started to feel sleepey. After his third yawn, Namjoon nudged him lightly. "Hey, you feeling sleepy?" Namjoon whispered in his ear. Jungkook blinked sleepily at the older and nodded, his fluffy hair moving along his movement which Namjoon found to be adorable. He scrunched his nose and gave the younger a butterfly kiss. "Mm, you can lean on my shoulder then, Bambi," he joked to which he received a pout and an adorable glare from the younger.

Jungkook rested his head against Namjoon's chest as he slowly drifted off to sleep, the anime, and his friends shuffling served as white noise as he was slowly lulled to sleep by Namjoon's hands caressing his knee and occasional kisses on top of his head. "Sweet dreams, Jungkook," was the last thing that he heard before he drifted off.

A few days after their friend's last anime binge night, Jungkook found himself across Namjoon at the barbeque place, his friends surrounding them as they celebrate Taehyung's yet another successful art exhibit. Jungkook felt so proud and happy for his friend, he has been dreaming of this since he knew him back in his first year of college and Tae's second. Jungkook, is working at a modelling company as their photographer, but since he's still making a name for himself, he still haven't had the chance to show the world his full potential yet.

"Everyone, let's toast to our dear Taehyungie's another successful exhibit, and to more successful ones coming in the future!" Jimin announced as he filled everyone's glasses with a shot of soju.

"This is just your excuse to get us to drink, Jiminie." Jungkook jokes as he was shushed with a 'shut up, brat' from Jimin. He laughed and accepted the offer. They raised their glasses up and they downed their shots together.

Jungkook gasped as he felt a foot slide up and down his calf. He looks across Namjoon, and he's just minding his own business, talking with Yoongi about the song that the two are working on. Jungkook was shocked, he doesn't know what to do with this information. Namjoon, the Kim Namjoon are trying to play footsies with him. And he's being so natural about it? What?

And so Jungkook, never one to back down from a fight, no matter how playful it is, lifted his right foot, and let it travel up Namjoon's left foot up to his calf and softly tapped his knee with the tip of his shoe. Namjoon didn't seem to show no reaction and continued to take a piece of meat into his mouth, nodding as Yoongi kept talking to show he's still listening to him. Jungkook huffed and upped his game. He shifted his foot a little to the left and teased the tip of his shoe against the older's crotch. Now that finally had a reaction to Namjoon. He spluttered and choked a little bit. He took a sip of water and threw Jungkook a glare behind his glass to which Jungkook just shrugged nonchalantly and continued eating, putting his foot down to the ground again. The two continued on with their own conversations, completely missing their friends' reaction to their obvious flirting.

All throughout the night, Jungkook and Namjoon kept throwing secret glances at each other. They kept their little footsies wholesome, entangling the foot together, caressing each other's legs softly. They enjoyed the night with their friends, with good food, beer, and the promise of the weekend lingering by as the night stretched on. Jungkook listened to his friends' different stories. Their different stories about their week at their own jobs, Hoseok's funny rendition of this one student at his dance class, Jimin's stress about the upcoming showcase of his own students, Jin's hilarious one liners and puns, Taehyung's boss telling him that his exhibit will be extended for another week due to the demand of more people wanting to see it.

Once they cleared up their plates, exhausted every story and jokes, the group of friends stood up and as they were at the counter about to split up the bill, Taehyung already took out his card and declared tonight's dinner to be his treat. One that Jungkook was specially delighted, always happy with free food. Jungkook was attached to Hoseok and Jimin as the three of them talked about Jungkook part-timing in teaching classes in their dance school. Jungkook laughed and said he'll be thinking about it since he's pretty occupied with his current job. It's not like Jungkook needs to earn more, he's actualy earning pretty well at his current company. But he needs something, he needs to find his passion. He's always been a person to do many things at once. He always wants to enjoy life, do as many things as he ca, learn as many things as he could. His dad once told him he could be anything he wants, to enjoy his life as much as he wants. And Jungkook is living by that.

Jungkook doesn't notice Namjoon staring at him while he's busy talking to his friends. He doesn't notice it until he feels a warm hand on his lower back, his coat pressed against his cheek. He yelped and looked to his side to see Namjoon looking at him, his gentle dragon eyes on his big ones, smiling down at him.

"Are you gonna forget your coat, Jungkookie?" Namjoon said as he helped Jungkook put the jacket for him.

"How can I? I know you'll get it for me, Joonie. And besides, which one of us has lost most things, hm?" Jungkook retorted, winking at Namjoon. The older tried to hide his blush by muttering a soft 'shut up' and pushing the younger one's shoulder.

The two men, being in their own world, yet again missed the way their friends looked at them in exasperation. Unbeknownst to the two of them, their friends have already noticed the change in the two of them. What with Namjoon not really a fan of physical affection, or any sort of affection, really. Has been giving heart eyes and radiating big love-struck energy every time they all hangout. And to who? None other than Jeon Jungkook. Their friends are really happy for the two of them, really. Jimin and Seokjin being the happiest from their crew for the two of them, but for two different reasons. For Jimin, he's happy that his "baby Jungkook" has finally manage to get the man of his dreams and that they're both happy. For Seokjin, he's happy that he won't have to see them disgustingly pine for each other anymore and that he'll be finally at peace at knowing Jungkook won't "die a virgin". To which, that statement got him a slap on the back of his head by Yoongi and Jimin.

So yes, they know about Jungkook and Namjoon. They also know that neither of them are gonna say anything until they are both ready. None of them have no clue when they will announce it. And all of them have unanimously agreed that they would all act like they still don't know. And surprisingly, the most sensitive, and the smartest one in their friend group still hasn't realized that they know. Because they're too busy gazing in each other's eyes to even look at the people around them.

The spell was broken between the two when they heard Yoongi clear his throat and announce that he will go first since he was tired. Followed by Seokjin who offered him a ride back home. Then, Hoseok and Jimin left to go back to their apartment, pulling Taehyung along with them. The three of them waved their goodbye's to the couple and were gone out of their sight.

After watching their friends leave, Jungkook and Namjoon looked back at each other and smiled their little soft, in love smiles. They took each other's hands, went outside and into the chilly, Friday night. They walked with their hands entwined, in this night, only the lamp posts and a few people walking around can see them. And if their blushing faces are obvious, they could jest blame them on the biting air of the cold night and not because of the rapid beating of their hearts.

"So, I heard Hoseok and Jimin talk to you about teaching classes in their school?" Namjoon breaks the comfortable silence as they found a park bench that overlooked the river and the view of the city.

Jungkook shrugged and laughed. "Ah, that. Yeah, they told me I could teach a few classes here and there. They said they had students who doesn't have that much flexible schedule but still wants to take classes. They said I could teach those students since I also don't have much free time as well," Jungkook explained as they both sat down, still not letting go of each other's hands.

"Oh, that's really great, Jungkook. Did you accept it yet?" Namjoon looked at him excitedly. He only wants what makes Jungkook happy.

"Oh, um, no. I said I'll think about it first. I mean, my job's pretty demanding right now" Jungkook laughed as he shrugged, leaning his head on Namjoon's shoulder.

Jungkook closed his eyes, as he listens to the current of the river before them, he closes his eyes as he listens to the quiet night, Namjoon's breathing close to his ears. He cuddles up to Namjoon's side as he shifted so he could put his arm around the younger's shoulders, pulling him closer. "Hmm, well, I'm sure Jimin and Hoseok's offer will still be open for you for as long as you want. I think you'll do well in it, Bambi." Namjoon said after long minutes of comfortable silence.

"You think so, Joonie?" Jungkook asked weakly, Namjoon's opinion was the most important for him. The reason why he was reluctant to accept it was because he doesn't think he will do well. Sure, he does so many different things. But he only does things that he's sure he'll be good at. And yes, Jungkook may be good at dancing, he enjoys it a lot. But that is not a guarantee that he will be good in teaching people how to dance. What if he wouldn't be good at teaching a step? What if his students think he's not good at coming up with routines? What if he doesn't like his students?

Namjoon could hear Jungkook's thought without the younger having to voice it. He pinches Jungkook's nose and takes his chin in his hands to get the younger to look at him. The younger looks at him, his face showing his anxiety. Jungkook's  eyebrows are pulled together, his beautiful lips downcast in a frown, his big expressive eyes swimming in worry and distress. Namjoon hushes his thoughts by softly pressing his thumb in between Jungkook's eyebrows. He kisses Jungkook's temple, and rested his forehead against the younger. "Hey, you're gonna be a great dance teacher, you know? You're future students would love you, you're so good at dancing and you'll show them just what you are made of, Jungkook. Don't worry so much, yeah? Just do what makes you happy. What makes you feel alive," Namjoon silences Jungkook's thoughts with his incredible words.

He believes in Jungkook. And that's all he needed to believe himself. As long as Namjoon believes he will do well, he's gonna do his utter best to do well. Jungkook smiles, his face slowly brightening as he nodded and leaned in to give the older a grateful kiss. "Ah, whatever will I do without you, Joonie. You're so good to me. Too good sometimes," he sighs as he buries his face in Namjoon's neck. Wrapping his arms around the older's waist.

Namjoon laughs as he tightens his hold on Jungkook. They sat there for a few more minutes before the both of them decided to go home. The two went back to Namjoon's apartment, playfully pushing and chasing each other on their way home like teenagers. As they lay buried between Namjoon's sheets, his arms wrapped securely around Jungkook, this, Jungkook thought, was the feeling of having everything he has ever wanted in his life.

Hello, it is me again, Sasa. I got inspired by listening to a song. This was really cute to write. And honestly the words kept flowing and flowing I don't even think I made sense in some or most of the parts. Just, I was thinking of confessing to someone in a really mundane way but also so special and romantic so this happened, haha. Anyway, please leave a comment below. Let me know what you think. Talk to me at @sasappho_ on Twitter. Thank you and I hope you are well. :)
