Chapter Text
The way Yagi-sensei had entered their classroom had been fantastic! The silver age costume, his look, his words, just his everything! If Ochako didn't know any better, she would have thought that he was ready for today, but yesterday during dinner, Yagi-sensei couldn't put his new teaching book down! She hoped he was more ready today than he was then because according to her classmates, they would be hanging on to his every word. Well, that made sense. He is All Might after all! Ochako smiled at Yagi-sensei as warmly as she could, whatever he did today would be nowhere near as bad as what happened to them over the summer.
Ochako couldn't believe her eyes. She was wrong, so very wrong about the course today's events would play out in. She stared up at the screen showing the cameras in the building they were using for the battles. It's on fire. Everything is on fire now. It spread from floor to floor quicker than she thought it should have. Deku, Bakugo-kun, Shoto-kun, and Mineta-kun are still up there! Yagi-sensei had already left the room to rush to the building, but the cameras are still on and they could see everything. Are they hurt? Are they safe? She had just met Deku recently but he was sunshine and none of them deserved anything bad happening to them!
Ochako forced herself to calm down some. This was the wrong place to panic like this. She perked up as she heard Yagi-sensei's iconic line through the speakers. With him there, they would all be safe. She wished to see more of the building, parts that were less on fire but the flames didn't seem to go down any even as more time passed. Ochako kept glancing towards the clocks in the room. Was it just her or had it been a while? Where were they? There was no noise coming through the speakers besides the crackling of flames and the breaking of timber. No more screams and no more Yagi-sensei.
The door behind them all creaked back open and Ochako forced herself to turn around, her new friends and classmates had to be okay, right?
But instead of Yagi-sensei greeting her, it was just Aizawa-sensei. A cacophony of voices rose around the room, hers among them. But all Aizawa-sensei did was raise his hand and say, "They're fine." As he herded them back to their homeroom, Ochako couldn't help but think his eyes said otherwise.
