Chapter Text

"Touya!"

A sharp jab in his side jolted the oldest Todoroki sibling awake to find his brother at the side of his bed. Touya groaned, running a hand down his face. It felt too early to be dealing with Shouto.

"What," Touya cleared this throat, smelling something odd in the air. "What do you need?"

His baby brother just looked at him wildly then pointed to his head. It took a moment before Touya remembered. He dyed his hair. How the fuck had he forgot his family would have to see him? Touya doubted his mother would be angry, in the scale of things this was minor.

"Your hair changed. Are you sick?" Shouto asked, cocking his head to the side and his older brother had to laugh a little.

"No, I'm not sick. I used hair dye," Touya explained but he doubted that helped all that much. With a jaw cracking yawn, he stood up, throwing the towel he had been sleeping on into his hamper. Shouto nodded like he perfectly understood, holding his arms up in a silent request to have Touya carry him out of their room.

With a sigh, Touya hoisted him onto his hip. He was getting just a little too big to be carried like this so Touya struggled for a moment to open to door handle. The scent of bacon and eggs slapped him in the face. Fuyumi was cooking, Natsou was doing something that looked like Mario Kart and Rei was reading a magazine when they left. Rei lifted her head with a smile at first, which quickly changed to surprise.

"T-Touya? Baby, what happened?" She asked, setting the magazine down. Natsou had turned to him too, his face just as surprised as everyone else was.

"Damn dude, you look really emo now," He said with a grin. Touya sat Shouto down on the sofa. Fuyumi had just saw it and turned back around. She had seen her brothers do stranger things.

"I just wanted a change. I cleaned up everything and I used my own money," He said, trying to keep his voice aloof. Rei just slowly nodded her head.

"Well, its not hurting anything!," She exclaimed brightly as she got up from the chair to help Fuyumi with platting breakfast.

"Natsou, get off that thing and help your sister," She said to her white haired son, who groaned in retaliation but none the less got up. Touya just stood still in the living room, heart racing for no reason. He felt utterly ridiculous. Nothing happened, not when he first left the room and not after breakfast.

Natsou had gone back to his game, Rei to her magazine with Shouto in her lap,and Fuyumi to her phone.

"Yumi," Natsou started, causing Touya to look at his brother as he tapped Fuyumi's calf. "Come here."

"No, you're gonna be stupid and like hit me or something," She responded, lightly kicking her leg away from him.

"Nah, I wanna play Mario Kart with you and Touya."

Touya rolled his eyes, "You think you can beat me this time?" His confidence dripped off every word.

Natsou grinned again, holding a controller out to him, "We'll have to see."

It had been five Mario Kart races before Touya left the living room. He slummed into the floor, running a hand through his newly dyed hair and thought of what Hawks would say about it. Biting his lip he opened his phone, getting Hawks number up. Before he could chicken out, he pressed the call button. It took a few rings before a voice chirped though the other side.

"Hello?"

Touya's brain slightly blue screened. "Hey Hawks." He felt weird, calling the other but he felt like hearing his voice. God this was a bad crush.

"Uh, Hi Dabi. You good?" He asked, voice a little worried.

"Yeah, I'm great. Look what happened the other day, I-" He was cut off by Hawks's almost frantic voice.

"I'm so fucken sorry about that. Like all of it. I didn't know that would trigger you," His words came out like vomit and Touya could only sit back and listen. "I was so worried when you didn't respond. I've done things when I'm like that and I didn't..." His voice trailed off. "I didn't want you to get hurt.

"Well, I'm fine Birdbrain. Its not your fault," Touya said seriously because it wasn't. It wasn't Hawks's fault the bastard showed up. Hawks sighed in relief on the other side.

"Look, maybe I could get another chance? Like we could just go back to the park and just chill there."

Touya half smiled. "Sure."

He heard rustling on the other end, then a door opening.  "Great! I'll be there waiting!" Hawks's voice was so full of excitement that Touya's half smiled turned into a full one.

"See you there," was his reply as he ended the call.
