Chapter Text
The five of you sat around a round table in Mr. Joestar’s friends’ restaurant. Mr. Joestar and Avdol were talking solemnly about how to get to Egypt as quickly and safely as possible in regards to how you all had crash-landed in Hong Kong. Neither of you wanted to carelessly include innocent civilians in your own endeavours so now the five of you had to find a way to travel carefully and at a fairly speedy pace, given the time limit you had.
If you were with anyone else, then you probably would’ve been hopeless and desperate but with the Joestar, you knew he had the Speedwagon Foundation behind him so it was definitely enough to feel at least a bit supported.
“... if we encounter another Stand user like on the last flight, we would be putting even more innocent people in harm’s way.”
You had been sitting between both Jotaro and Kakyoin, fiddling with the table cloth before slowly picking up a menu that was resting before you. It was hopeless though, seeing as you couldn’t read the contents.
“We have to reach Egypt by either land or sea.”
“However, if we fail to reach Dio within fifty days..” Avdol trailed off and you could feel the mood dulling when Mr. Joestar’s and Jotaro’s faces went sullen. Despite this, you wanted to keep faith and believe that your group could prevail against anyone or anything who tried to obstruct your path.
“If we had chosen another plane, I’m sure we’d be in Cairo by now..” Kakyoin added, his hands held together before him, and he too, appeared gloomy and regretful. And you were almost at a loss because it was true that the reason that you had all gathered here was because of the victim who was currently suffering a frightful curse, but there people were also incredibly strong and they had pretty amazing Stands, too.
“U-Uh, guys, I mean, yeah, it’s awful about what happened and it sucks that we had brought a lot of people into our situation,” remembering those who had died made your mood sour further, “but you are all strong, and you all have the determination to do this, too! I mean,” you gave a pointed look to Mr. Joestar, “sure, this Dio guy is technically immortal and has heaps of people serving him who also have powers but, ah-” Panicking, you found that you were about to lose your train of thought in the midst of catching Jotaro’s hardened glare,
“Now, now,” Mr. Joestar’s voice was like a beacon, saving you as he chuckled, grateful, “[Name] is right. Even without a plane, we can definitely travel the ten thousand kilometres to Egypt in fifty days. Also, thank you for your words of encouragement,” he smiled at you in an almost tender manner to which you were forced to look away skittishly while your cheeks burned, “Hah,” you laughed dryly, “of course, Mr. Joestar.”
Mr. Joestar then explained the route of the path with a map that he got out of the inner pocket of his coat, stating that you all would travel from Hong Kong to Cairo via the sea, going around the Malay peninsula and crossing the Indian Ocean.
Avdol agreed and said it would be better by sea than land because it would be a hassle to cross borders and go through the desert and the Himalayas. You couldn’t help mentally agreeing, but choosing not to speak as you scanned through the menu once more, even though you couldn’t figure out what you were looking at.
“You may have… flubbed what you were saying,” the sudden voice brought you to snap your gaze to Kakyoin, as he had been leaning towards you slightly to speak with a quieter tone. Once again, your eyes turned away with embarrassment, “but I appreciate the gesture very much. It was nice to hear some positivity, especially from someone my age, it’s very reassuring.”
“Oh.”
You couldn’t help but to reply dumbly, staring at him as he smiled at you, “Thank you.. for that, I guess I just wanted… to ease everyone’s mood since we’ll probably be forced to go through a lot.”
He nodded in understanding and your heart eased a little and it fell silent for a bit between the two of you before he continued, “Also, I must say, I don’t think I’ve fully grasped your Stand but it was quite impressive, what you did in the plane.”
“Th-Thanks..” Honestly, you didn’t believe that you had helped probably at all but with Kakyoin looking at you so earnestly, it made you feel a bit happy. You explained that your Stand could walk through your body and create a clone of you, and that that clone could make more clones but the more you made, the weaker they got. And it was also visible to people without Stands when it was a clone of someone.
The clones were able to replicate the person's appearance personality and you were also able to reveal that they can’t take a lot of damage in general because their strength primarily relies on the ability to make clones, in order to stall or sabotage others - or in other words, make it easier for you to save yourself and hide. There was also something else that you had learned about your Stand, not that you were going to easily spill anything about that so quickly, though.
Without your knowledge, Kakyoin had taken notice of Jotaro’s still and neutral face. His head was slightly angled towards you and the cherry-haired boy could tell he was listening.
“That sounds quite commendable, I also didn’t expect you to defend yourself like that against the Tower of Gray’s user. I must say, I had the wrong impression of you.”
Grinning, you couldn’t help leaving the menu alone to rub your hand on your opposite arm, feeling flustered under Kakyoin’s praise. Remembering the way you had shouted at the man to shut up after you had kicked him in the head… he had it coming by the way he had manhandled you.
“Oh yeah,” Still, you wouldn’t let the compliments get to your head when you realised that all four of them might’ve had the wrong impression of you, given by how you carry yourself when you meet someone for the first time compared to when you actually get comfortable with them.
“I’m… I guess not the girl that you met back in Japan..” Your eyes flickered to Jotaro, finding that his ocean-blue eyes had been on you, too.
And you couldn’t bring yourself to needlessly explain anymore. Not because it was anything tragic or life-changing, but more just because you didn’t find it necessary unless one of them explicitly asked it of you. Kakyoin took your answer in stride and smiled at you, hopefully acknowledging you as a proper ally.
Mr. Joestar and Advol decided that the route they chose across the sea was the proper one, easier and safer despite the biggest threat that lied at the end in the final stage, “Our biggest threat will be the Stand users that Dio sends after us so we’ll have to do our best to get to Egypt without being spotted.”
“Erm, Mr. Joestar..” Hesitantly, you spoke up again, almost regretting it when everyone turned to look at you. Subconsciously lowering your voice, you leaned in closer, “there could be a chance that one of them already knows we’re here…”
The man sighed, but he didn’t dismiss you at all, “Yes, that could very well be true. We need to be careful about who we trust.”
Somehow the dull aura surrounding you all managed to dissipate and Kakyoin proceeded to take the lid off of a small teapot and place it softly against the side of the opening so it was half off. Jotaro looked over just as you had, wondering what he was doing when he looked up and smirked a little, “this is a sign to let them know we want more tea. If you do this in Hong Kong, they’ll bring you more.”
“Oh, you’re pretty knowledgeable about this stuff, huh?”
“I guess, I like learning about the culture of the places I visit,” he replied coolly as a waitress came over and poured him a new cup. As she finished he tapped the table twice with his pointer finger, “and when they finish pouring the tea, this means ‘thank you.’”
“Then you can order some food.” Jotaro spoke and you flinched a little in surprise, seeing as he hadn’t spoken since you all got to the restaurant, “her stomach won’t shut up.” He briefly gestured to you and you almost gaped, too surprised to react in any other way. You hadn’t even realised that your stomach was still growling because you had been distracted by Mr. Joestar and Kakyoin.
“Oi-” The two of you stared at each other as you almost argued in defence of your stomach and lack of content in it before a different voice stopped you, quickly your gaze shifted and your eyes narrowed slightly,
“Excuse me, do you have a moment?”
He was a tall guy with tall silver hair standing right up and a tight black tube top with a singular strap running from one side of his chest to his opposite shoulder. He kind of looked like a tourist like your group.
“I’m a tourist from France, you see. I’m having a hard time understanding the menu, you see.”
So, he just had the same problem that Jotaro and yourself had.
“Could ya help a guy out?”
Even if he seemed like a kind guy, you knew you couldn’t really risk it due to the fact that your group wasn’t exactly here for a mere holiday. He was smiling, and sure it looked kind, but you didn’t know if you could straight up trust your gut that said he might be an enemy that Mr. Joestar and the others had to look out for.
Jotaro wasn’t taking any chances. “Talk about annoying. Fuck off.”
The man looked shocked. Which was a normal reaction… of course, but you still weren’t comfortable enough to just offer this stranger some assistance that could bring him closer to you and your comrades.
“Come on, Jotaro… It’s fine.” Mr. Joestar waved off his grandson calmly and offered his hand out to the man who placed his menu in his hand, “I’ve been to Hong Kong plenty of times, I should be able to read the menu.”
Eyes wide, “S-Seriously..” you whispered while watching Mr. Joestar, hoping he could point out something good for you, wanting to ask but not wanting to attract the man's attention to you, “Why don’t you join us?”
“So? What did you want to order?”
It almost felt like half of you were holding your breath while watching this man slide into the empty seat beside Mr. Joestar and the other half was waiting for something to happen or for this man to slip up somehow and reveal that he was actually there to kill Mr. Joestar and not to order some traditional food.
Joestar started reading out some food; including shrimp, duck, shark fin and mushrooms, and your mind was torn between listening or focusing on this man. Mr. Joestar called for the waiter to order and you listened, finding your mouth salivating, “this better be good..”
“If Mr. Joestar ordered it, then surely we’ll get a fine meal!” Avdol replied to you prompting you to look at him and reluctantly agree, hoping he was right.
“Beef, fish, clams and frog..” Kakyoin drawled out as he looked over the order that Mr. Joestar had requested, “Uh huh..” you replied, under your breath.
“Go figures,” Jotaro replies and you huffed, unsure of what you really wanted to have a taste of but also longing for anything at this point, “Itadakimasu, I guess..” Meanwhile Mr. Joestar had started howling with laughter at his mistake, brushing it off as a little mistake and saying it was fine because he was paying.
Well, it wasn’t that big of a deal, anyway.
You decided to take it safe, only taking small pieces of veggies and beef and the flavours surprised you when you realised that the appearance of the food and the taste didn’t correlate at all. And maybe the food accidentally made you let your guard down because when you looked up around the table, you noticed the stranger holding something, “oh, that’s a cute carrot!”
Admiring the small vegetable that had been cut into a cute, little star, you missed the way the man's eyes were almost turning dark with malevolence that you didn’t register until glancing at the faces of the men around you.
“I know right,” the man held up the carrot and smiled, “Someone I know has a mark that looks exactly like this on their neck…”
It went silent, like everyone was watching to see who would make a move first and the man grinned when the bowl on the table started bubbling rapidly, only for a long and very thin sword to thrust upwards and spin causing Mr. Joestar to startle and jump when Avdol yelled for him to look out. Jotaro, Kakyoin and yourself jumped up from your seats and stepped back and watched before Avdol’s Stand, Magician’s Red to be called out and fire some flames towards the new enemy.
You all watched then the flames started spinning in a spiral around the enemy Stand’s sword and you watched in fascination when you noticed it’s appearance resembled a thin, robotic humanoid with a medieval-type suit of armor. The speed of the Stand was hard to ignore as it gathered the flames from Avdol’s Stand and dispersed it to a table that had been pushed away, on it’s side. The flames seemed to splash onto the table and then formed numbers, like the face of a clock.
“My Stand represents the Chariots card, Silver Chariot!”
The man lifted his chin, as if to appear more superior to Avdol and he growled out, “Mohammed Avdol, it appears you wish to die first.”
His eyes were raging with a fire of determination shrouded in evil as he continued, yelling for all to hear, “I’ve made a fire clock on that table!” You looked to it quickly to see a hand pointing between the eight and nine.
“I’ll kill you before the hand strikes twelve.”
The two of them went back and forth and the enemy soon introduced himself as Jean Pierre Polnareff. Avdol whipped his arm to the side, in the direction of the table as the flames took out the man's flame clock and destroyed the table, boasting that his flames were very different from the norm, that his Stand allowed him to control them as he pleased.
Polnareff didn’t take kindly to Avdol's provocation and he grabbed out five coins from his pocket and threw them in the air, angered that Avdol had called him conceited for believing when the Egyptian questioned if he could really kill him before the clock struck twelve.
You watched in awe as the sword that Silver Chariot held pierced the coins in mid-air and even held small balls of fire in between each coin.
“No, look at that..” Jotaro muttered, voicing the shock that Kakyoin and yourself harbored at the sight. In your mind, you sincerely hoped that this Stand’s speed didn’t match the speed of the Tower of Gray Stand.
“I’m glad you know what this means for you,” Polnareff responded to the unsure look on Avdol’s face, he continued, “I’m not conceited at all. My Stan is capable of severing fire.”
It was as if he was thriving, becoming more confident the more Avdol started looking hesitant, “Simply put, your Magicians Red is no match for my SIlver Chariot!”
The Frenchman’s Stand swiped his sword in the air, allowing the coins to fall as it dissipated and from one second to the next, he was at the door of the restaurant, he turned back to say that his Stand represented conquest and victory. It turned out that he was ready to leave the room because he wanted to battle Avdol on even grounds seeing as Magicians Red couldn’t go all out in a confined place like this.
It was a bit noble of the man to allow a fair fight, and yet you were still a bit anxious, “he’ll be fine, right..?” Questioning to no one in particular as you followed the group to a new location that was only a short distance away, you were surprised to hear Jotaro’s gravelly voice from behind you, “you don’t think he can do it,” it was like a question turned to a statement, you weren’t really sure hows to respond, especially when you turned to look at him and saw a dark and serious look on his face, like he was remembering something he didn’t particularly want to.
But it was normal to be anxious when you were about to witness two people battle to the death, especially in this eerie garden that had many statues of large exotic animals, “What the hell is this!?” Joseph yelled out, looking at the growling tigers that were huge and made of stone, “we’re in Tiger Balm garden.” Kakyoin answered.
Through the garden, there were many other attractions to see that were well-known in the culture of Hong Kong.
The four of you strayed back a little so that Avdol could face Polnareff when the Frenchman started off, “I’ve got a prediction for you,” Silver Chariot appeared diagonally behind him, “First off, Avdol, you will be destroyed by the power of your stand.”
“Avdol..” you were almost tempted to bring out your stand, just in case you needed to quickly act but your comrade merely glanced at you, “[Name], you need not interfere, with all this space I can freely control my Stand.”
You were going to allow it and stand back with the clear reassurance until the silver-haired man let out a mirthful huff, you looked at his face to see a smirk, “sit aside, little girl, as if you could take me down.”
“...Oh, really?” Something flashed in his eyes when you walked forwards a few steps, ignoring Avdol and Mr. Joestar when they called out to you. Your eyes narrowed and your Stand appeared, seemingly from this air and the figure was small and thin, much like your own body. Again, the man huffed, “oh no, I’m so terrified.”
Without giving in to the Polnareff’s taunts, you called a single command, “Spirited Away.” Your stand melted through you and hence allowed another you to stand beside you, “[Name], come back here!”
“It’s fine, Mr. Joestar.”
“It’s fine, Mr. Joestar.”
Two voices merged into one and it almost sounded eerie, the way the two of you spoke perfectly in sync, until you, the real you, spoke again, and again, and again, “Spirited Away!”
Soon after, the men around you watched when two of you turned into six and then seven, each carrying themselves a little differently than the next.
“Move out, fuckers,” one of them growled to which another spat out, “shut up,” However all of their objectives were the same when all except one started running to the enemy. Polnareff was frozen, eyes wide and almost panicked as his Stand dodged kicks and punches, high and low but once the shock wore off he was able to compose himself once more, chuckling when he wasn’t even getting hit when he ran towards the version of you who was still staying back in front of your group.
“It’s so obvious that you’re the real one!” He yelled and kicked you across the gut and watched as your body was flung into the wall that had been painted with bright colours, he laughed and Avdol called out to you desperately, “[Name]!” They all watched in horror when your body huffed and then disappeared,
“Wrong one, stupid.”
Polnareff, shocked once again, groaned from the attack of pain on his flank, another cry out from the strike to his side again.
When you thought it was enough, you stepped back and all of your clones had stopped to watch in glee, “that’ll teach you to underestimate me again, fucker!” One of them screeched victoriously before fading away, one by one until you were the only one left to walk back to the group.
“Um, back to you, Avdol.”
He was staring at you with wide eyes, actually, they all were and you avoided their stares, mumbling, “he thought I was weak… just cause I’m a girl, too.”
Jotaro cracked a tiny smile but went on in silence, catching Polnareff standing up with a grunt after he had been sent kneeling on the ground, “How dare you! Are you not a lady! That was barbaric!”
“Wanna see it again?!”
“I-Wha-”
“Enough of this,” Avdol cut in to Polnareff’s messy attempt to reply to the almost savage look on your face, “Now you see what happens when you provoke [Name], but Polnereff, you said you would kill me first, now’s about the time you prove it.”
Polnareff, masking his previous stunned state, didn’t waste a second to launch his Stand at Avdol who had reacted in the same way. Silver Chariot thrusted and swiped his sword at the fiery Stand and Magicians Red dodged like a professional, moving swift and fast and it’s speed was practically matched with Silver Chariot’s.
While you stood back, slightly behind the three other men who were watching, Kakyoin shifted next to you, “are you okay? That was kind of crazy.”
“I’m fine, thanks.. I wasn’t gonna let him say that stuff to me..” The teen couldn’t keep his gaze off of the battle but he caught the sight of your pout, and our eyes hard and glaring, it brought a relieved sigh from him, “Even if he baselessly said those things, we all know it’s not true.”
Struck into silence, the two of watched when Magicians Red fired multiple balls of fire towards the enemy only to have Silver Chariot swipe it away with his sword and make them fire to a nearby statue, making it break and crumble to the ground where a defeated Magicians Red sculpture remained, “He mocking us!”
“He carved the statue to look just like Magician’s Red!” Mr. Joseph growled out and Polnareff snickered, his head tilting like a puppy though his eyes were evil as he snickered, “you know… Magicians Red makes a good statue in this garden..”
It was clear to see he was yearning to see Avdol get serious and use his full power when you could feel the temperature in front of you going up a few degrees. But you didn’t know how detrimental that was until Mr. Joestar suddenly piped up, “Oi, we need to get back! Avdol is using that move!”
“What’s that?” Jotaro questioned but he didn’t get an answer and you wordlessly followed, curious and nervous.
Avdol crossed his arms and yelled out, “Crossfire Hurricane!”
More fire grew and flickered around Magicians Red, sprouting from its mouth, arms and the ground where its legs were, it screeched a bird-like cry from its beak and fired away, it’s flames a lot hotter and much bigger than they had been before. Still, Polnareff laughed and taunted him, “Is that all you’ve got?!”
“My sword can create a gap of nothingness where I slice the air, which I’ll use to cut your flame in half!”
Jaw falling, you watched with terror when Silver Chariot swung at the flames and threw them back at Avdol where he started choking and convulsing, Mr. Joseph gasped and cried out, “His flame is so strong, he’s burning himself!”
Avdol fell to the ground and you couldn’t really see if he was unconscious or not but with Mr. Joestar and Jotaro watching from in front of you and Kakyoin beside you, they weren’t making a move to go and help and you admired the faith they had in Avdol. Polnareff snickered and declared, “As I predicted! You would fall by your own Stand.”
But still, the fight hadn’t left Avdol when his Stand attacked Polnareff again, prompting the Frenchman to click his tongue as if Avdol’s attempt would lead to nothing. “You still have the gall to come after me? How unsightly!”
Silver Chariot attacked once more but instead of seeing a repeat of earlier, you watched as flames began covering Silver Chariot which also started burning at Polnareff’s skin. He yelled out, refusing to believe what just happened, “I-Impossible!”
“That wasn't his Stand!” Mr. Joestar pointed out, just as Avdol got back to his feet, “it was a statue!” Avdol smirked triumphantly and continued, filling in the blanks for his enemy, “your eyes were obscured by the flames, your Silver Chariot only succeeded in slicing through the statue from earlier.”
It was starting to look like the roles were switched, Polnareff watching Avdol cautiously while Avdol looked as confident as ever to have successfully fooled him, “I told you I was capable of controlling flame.”
“The flame you sent back at it melted the joints and allowed it to move… Meaning you were the one to be defeated by the power of your Stand!”
“And now,” His voice grew in volume, angered and thriving off of his triumph, “We end this now!”
“Crossfire Hurricane!”
He delivered more fire and flames at Polnareff and this time, he wasn’t about to deflect it when he was hit straight on and blown backwards, “If you wanted to fight a fortune teller with predictions, you were ten years too early.” The smile on his face made you grin and Mr. Joestar proclaimed, “what a terrifying power!”
And it was true, you believed, fire was scary and unpredictable and you were very glad to have Avdol on your side, “His Stand must have melted after taking that attack! It’s over.”
Jotaro continued, speaking loud enough for the three of you to hear, “those are pretty nasty burns,” Polnareff’s body was steaming, red and bright, “He’s dead, or close to it if he’s lucky.. Well, maybe not lucky.”
“Avdol, that was great!” You called out and Kakyoin turned away, “Either way, he isn’t going anywhere fast. His Stand is defeated; it’s done fighting.”
“Now,” Avdol turned towards the group and began approaching Mr. Joestar, “Mr. Joestar, let us continue our trip to Egypt.”
“That’s it…?”
“The hell do you mean.” Jotaro quipped, scowling and you flinched a little before answering, “I mean, is it okay to just lea-”
Suddenly, multiple bangs, like the firing of fireworks, sounded from the spot where Polnareff had been lying unconscious, prompting everyone to look and see Silver Chariot exploding into pieces.
Polnareff’s body was flown up into the air and when you expected him to land, he remained lying in mid-air, upside down to stare at everyone, “He’s uninjured!” Kakyoin spluttered and Jotaro narrowed his eyes, “but how is he staying the air like that,”
“It must be his Stand!” You replied, still wondering how he had gotten out of that unscathed. He was inconceivable.
He started clapping, his Stand showed itself to be under him, holding his body up before he was thrown again, flipped and landed after hollering a sarcastic ‘Bravo,’ mocking Avdol’s efforts.
“My Stand, Silver Chariot, with its armor shed!”
The Stand was visibly thinner than earlier without the armor and helmet that it was previously wearing. Polnareff explained that he wasn’t mostly harmed because Avdol’s flames had merely burned off the armor and that was how he was still okay and that it was a lot faster now because it didn’t have the armor weighing it down anymore, however that also mean that it was a lot weaker now because it didn’t have any protection now.
You watched, mouth dropping when Polnareff’s Silver Chariot suddenly divided itself so there was seven of them all in a line and glaring at Avdol, Mr. Joestar couldn’t keep his disbelief in, “His Stand just created six… No, seven duplicates!”
You couldn’t help thinking of your Stand, only this was completely different, “How is that possible!”
“Stand users can only have one Stand!” Kakyoin finished what you were thinking, “you can’t do this, can you?” Looking down to you, you shook your head immediately, “No way.”
Polnareff laughed and explained that they were afterimages that confused not just a person's sight, but all of their senses. Polnareff began attacking once more, only this time there were seven strikes that Magicians Red was avoiding and dodging at a time. It was an incredible sight to see because you knew that if you had faced that then you would lose immediately. Avdol then began attacking with his fire but it seemed futile because they were only afterimages and they moved very fast, too.
Silver Chariot attacked Avdol again, this time managing to draw blood and Mr. Joestar called out his name, not knowing how this battle would turn out. Avdol backed off to defend himself and admitted that Polnareff had impressively well-trained Stand ability.
Avdol’s Crossfire Hurricane had been shooting flames that were ankh-shaped, but this time he did it again, only the fire split up and fired independently. You started gnawing on your lip as this continued, there was so much heat and flames and Silver Chariot had made a circle around Polnareff so there were no openings.
Polnareff yelled for his Stand to sever and send the fire back to Avdol but another attack sprouted from the ground and engulfed Polnareff when he screamed and was blown back. You held your breath, waiting, watching and hoping he would stay down. His body was burning, it was hard to watch, and Avdol even gave him mercy by offering him a knife to end it quickly.
Only, he didn’t do it, and instead decided to die by the flames because he was too conceited. Polnareff was prepared to end his life honourably from the fire that he said he would defeat, Avdol saw this and clicked his fingers, immediately causing the fire to simmer to nothing as Polnareff started steaming.
Avdol walked back to him, acknowledging him as a chivalrous man from the battle that the two had endured, especially when Avdol; with his back turned, wasn’t attacked when Polnareff had the knife in his hand.
“You have remained honorable despite your orders from Dio.”
And initially, you had been glad to see Avdol winning, wanting to see Polnareff taken out before he could do any true harm, but it was true that Polnareff was still respectful in battle even under the influence of Dio. Dio made your previous enemy absolutely ravenous - he was greedy and thirsty for blood with no remorse for the people he harmed and killed while being completely devoted to Dio but Polnareff wasn’t.
Now that the battle was over, it was safe to approach them when you noticed Avdol moving the hair on Polnareff’s forehead and you could just see something small and pink, a lump of some kind barely as big as your fingertip, “oh gross, what is that?!”
“A flesh bud,” Jotaro answered smoothly and let Star Platinum reveal itself as Avdol held Polnareff still, “What the hell!” You watched, absolutely disgusted when Star Platinum grabbed the bud and pulled, a lot, as wild tentacles were pulled from the man's brain and you shivered in disgust, “Yuck! Oh my God!”
Kakyoin watched as well, looking grossed out and Mr. Joestar couldn’t hold it in, yelling about how nasty the tentacles were, just like you had, “why did he have that in his head!”
“Oh, that’s right, “Mr. Joestar looked away from it while Star Platinum pulled until it was completely out of Polnareff’s head and squished in between the Stand’s thick fingers, “You weren’t there to see it, but Kakyoin was also under the same influence by that flesh bud that was implanted by Dio. It’s how he takes over their minds and makes them do these horrible things.”
Your scandalised gaze turned to Kakyoin as he watched you wearily, knowing what was coming, “you had that in your brain!? You met Dio?!”
“I… Yes, I did, though some of my memory is fuzzy from the encounter.. He probably counted on the fact that I live in the same city as Jotaro and his family… I’m very thankful to Jojo for saving me.”
“Woah..” Star Platinum was so cool. Ever since your first time seeing the Stand, you had been enthralled by it.
“Well,” Mr. Joestar changed the subject, kneeling on the ground to support the unconscious silver-haired man who had been on a mission to kill you all not even twenty minutes ago, “Good! Now that the flesh bud is gone, we can be bud-dies! Ba dum tsh!”
Embarrassingly enough, Mr. Joestar’s grin widened when you snorted from the terrible joke, “I-I, no, that wasn't funny.” Your cheeks burned, Jotaro clicked his tongue and called out Kakyoin’s name, “Doesn’t it piss you off when idiots make shitty puns?”
Now, you just laughed.
