Chapter Text

Third POV:

They had managed to escape and reach the angels who had been noticed of Sukhoon’s betrayal and set up a protective barrier. They were soon followed by a heavily injured Sejoong, who was directly carried to the nursing bay to be treated. The group was currently siting outside the room where Sejoong was being treated, they were waiting till he woke up and his wounds were treated so that they can get a clear explanation on what was going on.

Yoongi and Hoseok continuously glanced at Jimin and Jungkook. They all could tell the fact that Sejoong saved them was affecting them. After all throughout most of their life, they thought that he was the enemy but now things might be different from what they previously thought. It was both a relief and a scary thought. The atmosphere in the room was tense as they waited for answers.

“He’s awake,” The angel who was treating Sejoong announced.

Jungkook POV:

“So what’s going on and what’s the truth?” Jimin asked as soon as all the leaders were inside the room and surrounding Sejoong’s bed.

If it were any other time, I’m sure the other leaders would have called Jimin hyung out for being rude, but with all that’s been going on I guess they know that we deserve to know the truth.

“You kids don’t have to know, it’s all in the past, just… just look forward and try to get out of this mess,” Jaesuk said. Well I guess not… they still don’t think we deserve to fucking know!

“Stop that. I know you’re ashamed of something, but just tell them. They can’t go forward without knowing how they got there in the first place,” surprisingly it was Sejoong who spoke up. I really wasn’t expecting that.

“Fine!” Jaesuk grumbled dejectedly. “You tell them.”

Sighing at the childish behaviour Sejoong shook his head before turning to stare at us.

(Story time so buckle up)

“Let me start from the very beginning.

You of course know about the Great War that ended 20 years ago, the war started in the first place because of greed. That’s the start of almost all war, greed, and that’s what happened this time too, greed for power and wealth.

It started with one race and soon enough all races except the humans, who at that time were too weak, were dragged into the war. Some due to loyalty, some for self-defence and some seeing it as an opportunity to step on the more dominant races and rise up.

The elves took the chance to try and take down the angels, the lycans saw this as a chance to over through the werewolves. And so that’s how it began. You see it may seem simple as to how the war began, it’s always easy to start a war, but ending it is what takes years.

Anyways so it start quiet simply as races tried to over through and over power each other. Then slowly realising that it was difficult to do it by themselves, and that they weren’t getting anywhere, allies and partnerships started to form. But of course greed was still present, there were betrayals there was backstabbing. Only few managed to stay loyal to each other.

I won’t go into detail but due to all the betrayals and trust, it was easier to damage and even wipe out entire races. After all what can a group do if they have enemies form both sides and one close to them?

And so the war lasted a total 20 years before the Demon King was killed and a new one took over. A treaty was created between all the leaders that they would never attempt to harm another race through the use of military power. There were still small fights here and there but no large military warfare.

But this is where the current issue comes in. We made a huge mistake back then, the only major race who had a large population that didn’t sign the treaty were the Humans and the treaty only took into consideration that the leaders had full control over their races.

A year after the treaty was signed I noticed changes in power among vampire nobles. Although I’m the King, Sukhoon used the resentment some of the vampires had as an opportunity to gain followers. And those who didn’t bear any resentment, he convinced them through the seducing to fame and wealth.

Slowly he grew more and more followers, and by the time I noticed I couldn’t even act against it because, my power alone can’t deal with all the vampire nobles. But see vampires weren’t the only ones he was dealing with, he got the humans and other smaller races like the elves, the gnomes and the mermaids involved.

The reason this is a huge issue is because all the major races who rule over the continent, the Demons, the Angels, the Warlocks, the Werewolves and the Vampires keep everything in order and in balance. If even one of us were affected or if another race took over, it would completely ruin the delicate balance.

So as soon as we realised that we were close to another war, we secretly started meeting, because all of the races were still dealing with the lives lost and military damage from the previous war to be able to take on another.

And so we started to prepare in advance. My role was to be a double agent and watch over Sejoong, the Angels were meant to be the communicators, the Demons were keeping low key and spying from the shadows while the werewolves kept everything in order.

Jungkook, your clan was never killed, we did that because they were too strong and if Sejoong knew about them he would do anything to kill them. So the plan was to get the witches to attack you, but the people who they were killing were criminals that we disguised as your clan members by lying to them that they all they needed to do was pretend to be them and they would be let free. And the warlocks put a spell on them so that they couldn’t reveal the truth. But I guess something must have gone wrong if you were left behind, because all of your clan had escaped and is currently hiding.

There are still a few things I need to clear up with all of you. One, Jimin I didn’t kill your mother, she’s well and alive, just like the others she is hiding too. She was my weakness and Sejoong would have tried to kill her too if anything went wrong. Two, Hoseok Jaesuk was the one who ordered the witch to awaken your demon side. Yoongi, your brother was taken as to subtly get you guys to get out of Academy as they were planning to attack it soon and we needed to get you guys out without letting the other side find out of without triggering anything.

And lastly Taehyung, your mother was meant to be a spy to keep an eye on Sukhoon’s right hand man, but… I guess things took a turn for the worst with her. We didn’t expect him to take an interest to her. And by then we couldn’t do anything about it without the other side catching on to us.”

Everything went quiet as Sejoong finally finished explaining. Everyone slowly digesting all the information that they were given.

“So you’re telling me… Jaesuk… you were the one who ordered the witch to awaken my demon side, and then preside to ignore and hate me and let me get beaten up for it?” Hoseok spoke, voice dangerously low in anger.

“What?... wait you thought I hated you?” Jaesuk’s eyes widened in realisation as he awkwardly mumbled. “It… I wasn’t hating on you, I just thought that you would get stronger through all the bulling an-”

Before the man could finish talking, Hoseok was already slamming the door and out of the room. Just as we were about to follow him, Baekseok stopped us. “You guys get this all sorted. I’ll go after him. Trust me.”

Hoseok POV:

Fucking bullshit. As if all that would have made me stronger. What the fuck does he mean by that?

Before I knew it I was already at the backyard of the large palace. Luckily there was no one there as it was private and only for the leaders or people higher on the hierarchy. I quickly found a good place to sit under a large tree.

“Hey.”

I didn’t even bother turning around to look up, already knowing who it was from the voice.

“What do you want?” I didn’t want to be rude, but I’m really not in the mood to talk and deal with the he meant the best for you and the just forgive him, give him a chance talk. I felt a shadow loom over me as he sat next to me.

“You know, I understand how you feel,” Baekseok spoke not minding that the other didn’t pay attention to him. “My dad was like that too. No matter what I did he would never look at me or even acknowledge me, he ignored it if anything happened to me or if I needed help. His excuse was that I should be independent and I would get stronger form all these experiences. But you know, it’s just their awkward nature, I’ve known Jaesuk for a long time now, and believe me when I say he’s awkward I mean it. He doesn’t know how to show emotions or deal with people.”

“So what? Are you telling me to just forgive and forget and move on?” I growled but he didn’t even flinch at the threat.

“Of course not. That’s not a good enough excuse for him to let you be bullied. He needs to make up for his mistakes. What I’m asking is for you to talk to him and give him another chance to make up. I know he regrets it and is ashamed of his past behaviour.”

Notes:

Man I had a mental break down when I started writing this. I'm coming back to this book after so long that I completely forgot where the plot was going. Like I completely forgot why Jimin's mum died. So I had to actually go back and read my own book and try to piece together my own foreshadowing. Like I completely forgot some characters existed.

Also forward or leave any prompts that you thing would be my style or the type of things I write on my account because like I said, Academy's going to end soon and so I might have time to write some short prompts and requests. Or just leave a comment.
