Chapter Text

Lotus pier was not the same but it was not different either it simply was and she simply no longer belonged. Sure she felt welcome. Her Shijie and Jiang Cheng saw to that but it wasn’t the same anymore. She did not feel here what she felt in Gusu. Perhaps it was because Lan Zhan was gone. The man himself was home personified for her. Her children however had loved it. The two toddlers ran around and even got their uncle to teach them how to swim. Her youngest seemed to do better in the warmer climate. She didn’t lack for friends either. After she had shown the sect leaders the burial mounds all three had gotten together and thought up a solution. Lotus pier now housed the Wen remnants which meant she had no lack of company and the tiger seal was sealed permanently in Gusu somewhere only Lan Zhan knew and she found herself really alright with that. Lan Zhan was the only person she would trust with such a thing after all. The Jin’s had put up a fuss but after Jin ZiXuan stood up against his father it was hard for the man to do much. Now after three months of desperation she was finally marrying Lan Zhan. Jiang Cheng had had enormous fits about the entire process the entire duration of their engagement.

“How dare he try and marry her without my consent!”

“Lan bastards like I’ll let my sister get married in that dreadful place!”

“Defiled my sister! I can demand whatever I want from him!”

“Stay away from my sister!”

“Don’t you dare, that’s my nephew!”

“Forehead ribbon! FOREHEAD RIBBON!”

“Damn Lan’s just wait and see… lets see what they have to say about these now wont we.” (speaking of the Jiang bells he had made for her three children.)

“Bastards Damn Bastards.”

“I don’t care if your already technically married youll have a chaperone if I say so!”

Were heard ringing across lotus pier every few days. It was amusing and somewhat worrying to watch. Mostly when her brother really started to yell at her husband who already disliked him but she found her heart was bursting with love. Now standing in front of all the people she loved her little radishes off holding onto their JiuJiu who refused to allow anyone else to care for them…. He was slightly overprotective. She wondered how much worse he would be with the babe her sister was carrying.

She didn’t know how things would turn out the world was still a confusing place with so much turmoil but looking at Lan Zhan and her family she was content. She was content meeting her nephew six months later. She was content when they finally fully repaired her core a year after that. She was content when she gave birth to another son two years after her core was rebuilt A Yun they named him her little cloud. She was content when Jiang Cheng finally married Wen Qing. She was content when she me her sisters little daughter. She was content when she gave birth to her A Ming named after Lan Zhan’s mother, at twenty four. She was content when she met her second nephew Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng’s son. She was content when Lan XiChen married Nie mingjue and named her little A Zian future sect leader of Gusu. She was content when she watched her eldest gain their swords and then her little A Zian two years after them. She was content meeting Jiang Cheng’s second son. She was content when she brought another son into the world nearing twenty seven, A Lei. She was content when she put a sword in her daughters hand. She was content when A Yuan and A Yi announced their love and content a year later at their wedding. She was content when she gave birth to her last child A He her little Lotus flower. She was content when she watched her eldest daughter marry her nephew Jin Ling. She was content when her eldest married her niece, Yanli’s daughter. She was content when Lan Zhan reached immortality. She was content when Wen Qing gave birth to her third son. She was content when A Yun married Huaisang’s only daughter and moved to the unclean realm to help learn how to help his wife run her future sect. She was content as she watched A Lei make a name for himself as a traveling cultivator never fully cutting ties with them but never really belonging to Gusu again. She was content when A Lei met Jiang Cheng’s second son and eloped with him. She was content when she herself reached immortality at 48 not looking a day over twenty five, she was content with how overjoyed her husband had been and how he had gotten to remove the fear he had lived with for the past five years of their lives, she was not leaving him. She was content when A He married a cultivator within their sect not a strong cultivator, A He herself never took to cultivation it was not the life she wanted, but kind and one that loved her greatly. She was content most of her very long life four of her children, A Yuan, A Yi, A Zian and A Ming joining her in immortality along with one of her nephews, Jin Ling and one of her nieces, Jiang Cheng's daughter. She was content in living her years on the mountains houses built there to house her immortal family once they were done with the comings and goings of the world as well as Wen Ning who even after all these years watched after her and her family. She was content when three of her grandchildren joined them on their mountain. She was content when two of her great grand children joined her. She was content when four of her great great grandchildren joined their small village. She was content when three of her great great great grandchildren joined them. She was content when one of her great great great great grandchildren joined them. She was content when they stopped coming after that having mostly forgotten their elderly relatives until one young girl showed up at her mountain two hundred years later with golden eyes and a immortal core in her body holding onto a small babe golden eyes there as well. She was content teaching that boy cultivation until he was perhaps the strongest cultivator of his age. She was content when he left to see the world and content when he came back and reached immortality himself. She was content all her days. She lost people. She mourned but she was content. She had everything she needed and still she is content in her mountain home nearly forty members of her family all immortals living around her. Sure she still had to go enter the world ever few years to see if they needed help. Had to fight in a war or two. Watched the fall of the Lan ling Jin sect and the Nie sect until Jiang and Lan and then Lan were the only sect left standing. They made sure the Lan never fell. They learned new technology whenever they ventured out and started companies made money. Learned and changed and adapted but still their mountain was their home and that was where she was content.
