Fairies Search for Sins

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

They arrived after a few days, their companion that had provided with the transportation was very demanding. He didn’t charge the mages, but made them help out with the camping and care of the horses. Natsu took any opportunity to get out of the carriage from hell; his motion sickness getting the best of him at every turn. Every night as they made camp; he was as pale as a ghost, even Gray didn’t complain if the Fire Dragon Slayer took some time to regain his bearings.

The mages were in the back as they felt a sudden jolt as the carriage stopped.

“Are we there yet?” Natsu asked miserly with a tinge of hope in his voice.

“We should be, but I feel that something is going on outside,” Erza said as she made her way to the exit. Natsu happily exiting behind her.

As the group of five and a flying cat left the carriage, the man didn’t stick around and forced his horses forward; heading in the opposite direction of the town. Something in him saying that it was best to get out of the immediate area, his passengers were on their own now.

No sooner was the carriage out of sight that a man with a scare that went from his chin down his neck ran pass them, carrying an unconscious child and a protesting girl. The pale blue hair man noticed them and without breaking stride screamed at the bewildered teens.

“If you don’t want to die! Run away!”

The mages looked at each other, but soon enough noticed the destruction that was following the man. Where there once was a town, was rapidly turning into a giant crater. Not thinking too much on the matter, the mages started to run away, Natsu using his Iron Fist to destroy boulders of rock if they were getting too close to Happy or Lucy. Gray made a sword and shield to protect Wendy and himself, while Erza was slicing through the stones with ease.

However, all the efforts weren’t enough. The catastrophe was too large and the rocks were flying too fast. If they weren’t careful then they would be killed. Just as things were calming down, the five turned around and their jaws nearly hit the ground. The sight before them was unbelievable, it was a giant rock formation in the shape of an upside-down mountain.

With his enhance sight, Natsu spotted a woman standing straight on top of the structure wielding a hammer. Hitting the floating mountain with great strength and from the distance, Natsu could tell that the hammer was of a great size.

“Watch out!” Natsu yelled, as the mountain rushed down and as it collided with the ground a giant dust cloud covered the surrounding area.

“What is this power?” Gray screamed as they knelt down and covered their heads from the flying debris.

It wasn’t long until things settled down and where there once was a town now a mountain rested.  The girl jumped down, but as she came closer Natsu’s eyes widened and they all cleared the area. The woman was enormous and when her feet touched the ground it shook from the impact.

The man that warned them before was hunched over a rock with the kid slump over a rock and girl sitting near him. The giantess calmly walked over to them, holding something carefully in her hand.

“Captain!” the giantess cried out in joy.

The blue hair man looked up, “see? Didn’t I say it was too dangerous?”

Happy whimpered, “ye… yeah you said it.”

The three tensed, surprised that anybody was foolish enough to remain in the area. As they took stock of who it was the giantess and blue hair man tensed, placing themselves between the newcomers and their injured comrades. Though the blue hair man wasn’t actually any better off than the small blonde child.

“Who are you people?” the giantess demanded. The mages still did not really think much of her hammer until she brought it forward and placed it as a shield between them and the unconscious boy behind her.

“That’s the war hammer,” Erza stated.

Natsu’s and Gray’s eyes widened, “you’ve got to be kidding!” they both yelled.

“Then… they are…” Lucy trailed off watching their guarded expression. The others also stiffened preparing for the upcoming battle. She had never seen a woman… no person, as big as the giantess in front of them and she wielded the hammer with complete comfort.

“Yes,” Erza replied bringing out a sword. Their opponents staring at them.

“Cap’n, it seems these kids wish to fight us.” The blue hair man drawled. As he calmly assessed the incoming threat.

To the surprise of the mages the blonde kid chuckled, “do they now? Do they even know who we are?”

“You’re the Seven Deadly Sins, once great Holy Knights of the Kingdom of Liones.” Erza answered pointing her sword at the person who they now knew is in charge. “We are members of the Wizard Guild Fairy Tail from Fiore and have been tasked with capturing you Sins and returning the princess to her father.”

The voice that Erza was using would normally have her enemies shaking in fear, but the Sins didn’t even flinch.

“Wizards…?” the blonde murmured, looking thoughtful.

Natsu growled, his impatience getting the better of him. “Enough talking, let’s just get to the fun part already!”

The blue hair man smirked, “I can get down with that.”

Next thing they saw was a red blur flying towards Natsu and punching squarely in the jaw. Lucy cried out as she saw her friend crash into one of the nearby boulders. However, to the other mages surprise the other Sins didn’t move a muscle. Erza was unsure of what to do, but decided to keep an eye on them… for now. She was sure that Natsu could handle the blue hair man.

Natsu flew out of the boulder and punched the smirked man in the gut, his fist covered in bright yellow flames. The blue hair man grunted, but chuckled.

“I was expecting more.”

Natsu’s eyes narrowed. That punch would have normally sent his opponent flying, but this man was laughing it off. He cracked his neck and with ease the Fire Dragon Slayer was sent back with a swift kick.
