Chapter Text

Bakugou thinks he’s beginning to sound crazy.

He isn’t the only one seeing this right? He isn’t hallucinating?

No. If he was then he would’ve stopped seeing it after blinking or punching himself several times-- BUT IT WAS STILL THERE. He’s been seeing weird shits for two weeks since the whole Mineta incident.

The following day after Mineta’s incident, Bakugou witnessed something very peculiar happen in the laundry room. He was busy separating his white and colored clothes but was disturbed by a shrieking Hagakure. He irritatedly turned his head to see what the invisible girl was screaming about but was surprised to see MIneta handing her a folded shirt.

To be frank, he’s not surprised. It isn’t the first time MIneta caused a girl to scream at him in the laundry room but it’s a first for Mineta to be holding something that isn't underwear for once. Bakugou squinted his eyes and inwardly sighed when he saw what seemed to be a strap underneath the folds of the shirt. What do you expect of Mineta? He wouldn’t change that fast. Even Bakugou needed months to change his nasty temper a little. It would take a miracle and a god to change the asshole mineta’s  nasty habits.

“Honestly, Mineta, how are you still in this school?”,  Sato, who was folding his uniform, said. Mineta glared at him and stomped. “I saw it fell from her basket! I’m just giving her her shirt back!”, he defended. Yeah, just her shirt back, Bakugou rolled his eyes and continued his work.

I swear to god, there really sin’t a day these extras don’t shut the fuck up. He angrily shoved his white clothes into the washing machine and decided to listen to music instead.

He was about to wear his headphones when he heard Mineta speak again.

“I swear! You just dropped this and I picked it up! Why would I snatch anything from your dirty laundry?”. He put down his headphones and looked at the scene again. “You really didn’t get that from me?”, he heard Hagakure ask. Mineta frowned and shoved the shirt in her basket. “I told you! I’m never doing that again!”, he folded his arms to his chest before walking past her to his own laundry. Hagakure sighed before continuing her own laundry too. She’s giving him the benefit of the doubt? Huh..

Some minutes later, Hagakure and Sato left the room and Bakugou kept a close eye on Mineta. He paid attention to the clothes he’s folding, his pockets, his clothes, but didn’t see anything bad or malicious.

No. Impossible. He’s got to be hiding something.

He approached Mineta who was humming to the opening song of Mt. Lady’s new anime series and was beginning to fold his pajamas. “Hey, small fry, what did you do with Hagakure’s clothes?”, he asked.

This might be the first time he willingly approached his classmate. He wasn’t really someone who would open small talks or interact with them but he tried his best to gather information about anyone even if it’s just by watching them during their monthly assessment.

He didn’t bother learning Mineta’s name at first though.

His quirk bored him. So he settled with small fry or asshole most of the time.

Mineta sighed and turned around to face him. “I didn’t do anything”, he said. Bakugou stared at him, not believing a thing he said. He’s been with these idiots for two years now. He knows this small bastard did something. “Like I would believe that'', Bakugou deadpanned. He didn’t really care if he did or did not do anything. He’s just tired of all the shit this bastard’s been doing since last year. And he wants to test how gullible Hagakure was or if she’s great at trusting her classmates.

His short classmate just sighed and looked around the room. They were alone.

He leaned forward as if to say something and Bakugou smirked inwardly. He knew it. He’s gonna confess.

“Ok. But don’t tell anyone”, Mineta started. Bakugou only glared at him. “The fuck would I keep your secret?”, He asked, his voice a bit loud. Mineta shushed him before sighing. “I really didn’t do anything. I was on my way here and she dropped a bra and a shirt”. Bakugou was about to open his mouth and say, “I knew it”, but Mineta continued again.

“I figured she’ll be embarrassed especially with you guys in here so I wrapped it with the shirt and gave it back to her”, he sighed and sat back to the seat behind him. “I never even thought of doing anything! I just returned it”, he mumbled.

Bakugou couldn’t understand what’s going on. What he’s saying makes sense but he couldn’t understand how it’s possible. “What made you do that?”, he asked.

“What made you not do anything?”.

Mineta smiled and scratched his cheeks. “Uraraka might have kicked some sense into me yesterday”, he awkwardly chuckled. What does that mean? Kicked some sense?

Did Uraraka torture him or something?

“Did Ur-”, before he could even finish saying her name, MIneta suddenly waved at someone behind him. He raised a brow before turning around to see Uraraka carrying bags of detergent on one hand, and her phone on the other. “Oh, I didn’t know people were still here”, she said.

Mineta moved away from Bakugou and grabbed his basket. “I was just gonna leave. Are you refilling the detergents?”. Uraraka smiled and brought up the bags in front of her. “Yeah. Mina said she needed extra for tomorrow since she stained half of her closet with iced coffee”, she shook her head as she made her way past them and to the closet where they keep all the detergents and fabric softeners.

“Pinky spilled iced coffee in her closet?”, Bakugou asked. Uraraka started organizing all the stuff he bought and nodded. “I told her to stop eating in her room and eat with us instead”, she didn’t remove her attention from her work and continued with her task.

Bakugou mentally took note to tell Kirishima to have her girlfriend do her work instead of asking Uraraka to do it instead.

He looked at Mineta who finished packing his folded laundry and raised a brow. “Well I’ll be off. Mt. Lady’s show is coming up”, he said before humming himself out of the room. For Bakugou that was--

“Fucking weird”, Uraraka heard him mumble under his breathe. She giggled as she closed the cabinet and turned to look at him. “Did he do something?”, she asked. “Hagakure told us Mineta was kind enough to return her clothes without being Mineta about it”, she laughed as she walked towards him.

That was weird too.

Dipshit hid her underwear to not embarrass her and he acted normal the whole time. It was the normal normal, not Mineta normal. He even said he just never thought of doing anything like the demon residing in his body disappeared like a bubble. He said Uraraka kicked some sense into him and he leaves just as she arrives… Did she do something?

Bakugou huffed and walked towards his basket and glared at her. “How did you know Mineta and Kaminari did it?”, he asked. Uraraka blinked and tilted her head as she processed what he just asked. “Kaminari and Mineta? You mean yesterday?”.

“What do you think I’m talking about?”

She grinned as she pocketed her phone and showed her hands.”I saw Kaminari pick up one of Sero’s tapes and well, Mineta was the one who went fisherman with his purple glob as a hook”. Bakugou eyed her carefully. She made sense. But everything still doesn’t make sense.

“What did you do to them?” His question caught her off guard making her smile drop and brows furrow. “What do you mean?”, she looked at him incredulously and placed her arms behind her back. “You pulled them off the field and now Mineta is acting like a saint”, he scoffed.

She giggled and twisted her body like a child hiding a broken vase. “I gave them a piece of my mind and had Cementos give them two weeks detention”, she winked.

And he blinked.

“That’s all?!” he couldn’t help but shout. He expected Uraraka to kick their butts. He knows she’s capable of that.

“I’m glad I got through them though. Mineta still has his Mt. Lady collection but I think he’s a genuine fan and not just a creepy perv-”, she was interrupted by her phone ringing loudly.Bakugou watched her frown as she read her message and smiled at him after pocketing her phone again.

“I need to go, I promised Tokoyami I’d help him with something”, she waved her hand and proceeded to walk away. Before Bakugou could even process what happened next, his mouth beat him to it. “What about Kaminari?”.

What about Kaminari?

Uraraka stopped her tracks and smiled at him. “What about him?’. Bakugou avoided her eyes and looked around the floor. It was as if he lost something. “What’s he doing?’ he irritatedly asked. In retrospect, he could’ve just found out for himself but a little part in him wanted to know what she knew.

She thoughtfully looked up and hummed. “He was studying with Yaomomo in the common room before I got here”, she grinned. Studying. Yes, that seems normal. Uraraka waved at him one last time before skedaddling off of the room.

And so he went on with his work, carrying his own basket up his room, passing by the kitchen to grab some drink to bed. Then he witnessed a miracle.

In the kitchen was Kaminari, washing the dishes as he sang a rap verse from his favorite song. On the cupboard was a paper pinned with tape. Bakugou squinted his eyes and dropped his basket when he realized what it was. Table of elements. T able of fucking elements?

The sound of his basket hitting the floor made Kaminari turn to him. “Bakugou! Are you ok?”, he raised a brow, hands still rinsing the mug on the sink. Bakugou only squinted his eyes before grunting, picking up his basket from the floor. No, this must just be an off day. Justa day when everyone is weirder and stranger.

But that weird day lasted for two weeks now. Today, he’s witnessing another weird scenario.

“Oh, cool shirt, Tokoyami”, Aoyama sat in front of Bakugou and beside Tkoyami who nodded at him in return. “That’s a fine yukata too, Aoyama”. Bakugou almost spit all of his drink when he realized Aoyama was wearing a purple yukata. Tokoyami curiously raised a brow at him when he continued staring at the blonde. “Everything alright, Bakugou?”, he asked.

No. Aoyama is wearing a fucking yukata.

“Oh, are you admiring my yukata, Bakugou? I know! It’s cool right? Uraraka helped me find something good from the thrift store and she found me this amazing Yukata!”, he stood up and spun around to show them his bright coloured outfit. “You’re not saying weird shits”, Bakugou observed. He stopped turning and clasped his hands. “Uraraka helped me with that too! It’s like a challenge for myself! But don’t worry, I still have my collection of cheese in here somewhere”, he smiled.

Bakugou furrowed his brows and began sipping his drink once more. Ok, people change. Aoyama not speaking random bullshit is a good change . He calmed himself.

“How about you, Tokoyami? Where’s you get that shirt? That looks really cool”. Bakugou’s eyes roamed to Tokoyami’s pink shirt and he finally choked on his drink. It’s pink. Fucking pink!

Tokoyami shrugged and pulled his shirt to look at it. It has a white flower in the middle with the word ‘free’ written in kanji below it. This is really new. “Uraraka helped me with it. My closet has been too bland and she brought me to a thrift store”, he explained. Bakugou composed himself before pointing a finger at his classmate. “Oi. You let her buy you that shirt?”, he asked. Tokoyami and Aoyama looked at each other before shrugging. “It’s a fine shirt. What’s wrong with it?”.

It’s not something you’d wear. He wanted to say. Instead, he kept quiet.

“Is it because it’s pink?”, Aoyama curiously asked. Tokoyami lightly gasped, slowly raising a finger to point at Bakugou. “I didn’t know you were homophobic…”, he whispered. “I can’t say I’m not surprised”, Aoyama shook his head in disappointment and walked out of the room. Bakugou was flustered and was dumbfounded about what to do. He was just shocked their gothic classmate was wearing something other than black, he didn’t really mind the color.

What he did mind however was that Uraraka is in the equation in both of Aoyama and Tokoyami’s fashion changes. Aoyama let her teach him to be normal? Impossible but woah. Tokoyami wearing something Uraraka picked out for him? Big red flag. What is she doing?

“I can’t say I’m not disappointed, Bakugou”, Tokoyami folded his arms to his chest and slowly shook his head. Bakugou ‘tch’ed’ and rolled his eyes before leaning towards him. “I don’t care that it’s fucking pink. Why are you letting Uraraka get you these clothes?”. Tokoyami squinted his eyes at him before looking around to find no one else in the common room but them. It was past 11 on a tuesday night and they have a quiz with Aizawa tomorrow yet they’re talking about his wardrobe. “What do you mean?”, he asked. Bakugou looked down at the cream-coloured carpet and pursed his lips.

What does he mean?

“You know! Letting her buy you shirts you don’t wear before!”. Tokoyami leaned back on the sofa and hummed as he thought about his words carefully. “She didn’t buy  me this. She only helped pick it out for me”, he said in his old cool demeanor. Bakugou groaned as he rolled his eyes and stomped his right foot. “Why are you changing your wardrobe?”, he said through gritted teeth. Tokoyami sat up straight and immediately looked away.

“You don’t need to know that'', he defensively said. What? Bakugou curiously watched him as he gulped and avoided eye contact with him. He’s hiding something.  “You’re hiding something”, he claimed. Tokoyami blinked at him before quickly shaking his head. “I’m not!”. Yeah, really suspicious.

“You fucking are!”, Bakugou pointed at him with a hard glare. What the fuck are you hiding?

Just then, a soft blush painted Tokoyami’s dark face and Bakugou blinked as he watched him fumble like a child.  NO way.  A load of thoughts entered Bakugou’s mind as to what could explain the man’s behavior. Him and Uraraka?

“Bullshit!”, he gripped his drink too hard, the bottle bended. Tokoyami froze on the spot and hesitantly approached him. “Bakugou?”. The blonde glared at him, broken bottle in one hand and the other clenched on his side. “You guys are dating?”, it was news. It was big news. He just couldn’t decide if it was good or bad. All his theories about what’s happening the past few days came shattering like a broken glass. He couldn’t quite process this yet.

Tokoyami blushed once more and looked away. “No.. not yet”, he bashfully admitted. Not yet. “So you’re going to ask her out?”, Bakugou asked. His classmate nodded, looking away from him. “I didn’t know how to address these feelings so I asked her help and she helped me identify them and it turns out I’m in love”.

In fucking love.

It was such a deep and big word even Bakugou couldn’t handle the weight it holds. He loves her?

“So you love her?”, he asked. Tokoyami nodded. Ok. “Ok. What a weird way to process your feelings though”, Bakugou muttered under his breath. Tokoyami looked back at him with one brow raised. “Excuse me?”.

“I said What a weird way to process your feelings” , he spouted the words with diction that if Tokoyami knew him better, he’d say he was jealous. But he didn’t. He thought he was just being a jerk. “Is it bad that I asked a friend for help? Uraraka was happy to help me out too”, Bakugou almost rolled his eyes but remained rigid in his feet. Oh,  what do I even gain from listening to this? “Good for you then”, he muttered. Tokoyami blinked before a soft smile entered his lips. It was new for Bakugou to say those words.

He was grateful. “Thank you. I hope it works out though. I still don’t know how to ask her out to the fishing pond yet”, he bashfully admitted. “Fishing pond? You’re taking her out there?”Bakugou shot him an incredulous look as he scoffed. What a dumbass date . “Well yeah, Uraraka said she wants her first date to be there”. Lame .

Tokoyami let out a dreamy huff as he stared up the ceiling with a smile. “I’ve been looking forward to it ever since. I even prepared her favorite snack. I already bought packs of jellies”, he chuckled to himself as he thought of the assorted flavoured jellies he stored in his personal fridge.

Ok, that sounds wrong.

You see, after Mineta and Kaminari started acting weird, he started paying attention to Uraraka more. One thing he learned from amplifying his hearing skills, aside from Todoroki’s lame jokes during lunch, is that Uraraka absolutely loves mochi more than anything else. Her loving jelly is just bullshit.

“Dumbass, she doesn’t like that shit. Shouldn’t you get her mochi instead?”, he blanched at the realization that he’s actually helping him out. Tokoyami only remained confused. “No.. I’m pretty sure she likes jellies”, he thought back to the day she offered him her favorite food. Bakugou thought back to when he always sees her holding a mochi in one hand. “No. She loves mochi”. Tokoyami narrowed his eyes at him and tried to comprehend what he was saying. Mochi…

“Oh!”, he almost laughed when he finally understood what was going on. “I’m not talking about, Uraraka”, he said with an amused smile. Bakugou oddly looked at him with a frown. “What do you mean you’re not talking about Uraraka?”

Tokoyami smothered a chuckle  before leaning towards him to whisper something between them. “I actually like Asui”.

Oh.

Oh.

“Oh”, was all he said as he continued to stare at the boy’s amused face. “I told her I like her friend and she volunteered to help me out with my confession.” Oh . “Then she saw my wardrobe and suggested I wear… something more colourful so we went shopping”. Oh . “Wait- how did she see your wardrobe?”. How did she see his wardrobe? Tokoyami sighed and facepalmed, making Bakugou’s tick in annoyance. “What?”. Tokoyami only shook his head before answering. “We were assigned partners for a project last month”. Oh right . “Don’t tell anybody this but she told me Asui thinks I look good in purple so I actually bought lots of those”, he smiled.

Bakugou was busy trying to recall that project and how the two of them got assigned to work with each other. Naturally, he was assigned to Kirishima and he didn’t really care about the other extras. But Tokoyami and Uraraka pairing up? And ending up shopping and helping the other confess? That’s news.

“Well I gotta go”, Tokoyami left the room with one last nod to Bakugou that silently said, “this conversation stays and ends here”. He left the blonde thinking about what he just discovered.

Uraraka made two of his classmates buy from a thrift store. She has Aoyama- the guy who usually wears imported clothes- wear traditional yukata and not say something weird in a full conversation. She has Tokoyami, that silent, slightly timid classmate, open up to her, get her to plan his date, and let her pick out a shirt for him.

Most importantly, Tokoyami chuckled!

Something is fucking wrong.
