Chapter Text
It was a beautiful night, the clouds lit up golden from the underside; perfect for what was going to happen later.
The stereotype of “it was a dark and stormy night” always made things easier for Suffocate.
No one expected a murder when it was sunny out.
The target seemed to feel her eyes on the back of his neck; the fun part was just beginning, it seemed.
Until she locked eyes with the girl across from her.
Wearing the insignia of her boss. With the rank of a division leader.
Glaring at her.
Uh-oh.
“Who are you, and what are you doing on my hit? This went to my division for a reason, you know. He’s dangerous, and needs to be eliminated without a trace.”
“Yeah, that’s why this went to me. ‘Cause I’m the one who does the “no-trace” part. What were you gonna do, throw him in the river?”
“Actually, I was going to liquidate him. And then use the acid-body-smoothie to poison his wife.”
That was… terrifying and slightly hot. Man, she was screwed up; wasn’t she?
And this girl was still glaring at her.
“Listen, he’s getting away. Let’s both follow him, and I’ll call Boss on the way there.”
“Oh, you’ll call Boss, will you? No. I’ll call Boss.”
This girl… was absolutely perfect. Distrusting, totally cool with murder, adorable. (And so, so dangerous.)
And completely, certainly, obviously out of her league. Amazing.
“Just get it over with.”
Walking shoulder to shoulder, the two casually-dressed assassins made their way after the runaway target, who decided he was out of the “line of fire”, so to speak, and got an ice cream cone.
Suffocate had really, really been hoping there weren’t going to be any bureaucratic issues today. Seriously, she’d been doing paperwork for weeks . Who knew running a division would be so much work?
Boss, probably. He was the man she loved to hate.
“Alright, Suffocate . Apparently, I’m supposed to take this guy out and then you do your thing or whatever. I’m Tsuyu. Call me Lucin.” The girl looked slightly pacified by Boss’s words, which raised her chances of getting information from her. Nice.
“I’m Uraraka. Call me Suffocate. Um, if you don’t mind, what does Lucin stand for? And… no family name?”
“Hallucination. And I notice you don’t have one either, Uraraka.”
“H-hallucination? You’re Hallucination?”
“That’s what I said, yes.” God, this girl was going to be the death of Uraraka. The eyes, the smirk, the everything. It was too much.
“Uh. Um. That’s nice.”
“Glad you think so.”
As the target turned into a back alley, the girls readied themselves.
They vanished after him.
(There will be no murder in this fic)
“Damn, he put up such a struggle. I need a shower.”
“Uh, Tsu? I live pretty close. And I’ve got a nice shower.”
“Propositioning me already, are you?”
“No! No, I’m not. I-uh, I know how dried blood feels. Ick.”
“Well, lead the way, Uraraka.”
