You Broke into the Garden

Chapter 3

Notes:

I hope everyone's staying safe during this winter storm. I wanted to do Kakyoin's perspective, I think it came out nice.

Chapter Text

Prim and proper. That's what Kakyoin had to be. A prim and proper lady, who was to be married off to the highest bidder. Who could never bring shame to her family. Ladies were to be seen not heard. Ladies represented their husband and household, so they had to always look their best. Ladies must never busy their pretty little heads with anything but their household. Kakyoin despised this. She knew it was going to be her life whether she wanted it or not. A marriage proposal was already accepted and she was set to live with her future husband in a month. A true marriage of convenience, her parents wanted the dowry and her finance wanted the title. Kakyoin knew she was going to be nothing but miserable. She wanted a night of freedom before it all happened.

The night she snuck out of her parents estate had been amazing. She didn't want people who knew her family to recognize her, so she wore one of the plainer dresses she had. Her parents hated that dress, she loved it. Going to the pub wasn't what she had planned but the loud music and cheering drew her in. Still attempting to keep a low profile Kakyoin, sat at an empty table, drank and simply watched. Being here alone would have caused her father to lose his mind, it made it so much more exciting.

Kakyoin noticed a very tall man walking up to her. She started to get nervous, who was he and why was he walking up to her? Now he's just staring. “Are you just gonna just stand in front of me, staring?” she didn't know what else to say, he was starting to freak her out. When he looked at her though, she was left stunned. Ocean eyes was all she could see. They’re so beautiful. The niorenett was so beautiful. God she was so nervous but he seemed nervous too. That made things better, she wasn't the only one. The rest of the night went by in a bliss. It was so exciting. The drinking, the laughter and the dancing, it all melted away her anxiety. He had a quiet charm beneath all the nervousness. A dry sense of humor that balanced her out. He didn't care that she was being loud and boisterous. It excited her, and they let themselves get lost in the moment. Leaving the pub with him wasn't in the plan either but Kakyoin had already done a lot of things that weren't in the plan. She loved it. Loved being with him and spending the night with him.

When she woke up in the morning, Kakyoin looked over at her bed companion. It was pure bliss. She felt so relaxed and happy. The sun's rays were starting to peak in and made her skin warm. The way the sunlight hit him made him look ethereal. The scowl that he seemed to always have was replaced by a peaceful look. It caused her heart to skip a beat. Everything felt so perfect, until she realized she made a huge mistake. Fuck, I slept with him. Fuuuuck. The redhead began to panic. She needed to make it home now and quickly. Hopefully he wouldn't mind her leaving him the bill. Climbing through the window of her bedroom was a challenge in her dress but she had to do it quickly. Luckily for her no one was awake yet. Success! No one had to know that she had snuck out and went to a pub. That guy was so handsome Kakyoin thought as she changed into her nightgown. I didn't get his name, I’m so dumb. I want to see him again, it would be so nice. He held me, kissed me and it felt so incredible. Kakyoin threw herself onto her bed and sighed, “It doesn't matter since I'm getting married anyways. It's time to come back down to reality and forget about him.”

                                                                                        ---------------------------------

It's been a month. A whole month and she can't seem to forget that man. He drew her in with his beautiful blue eyes and kept her with his weird charm. His quiet nervousness hid a loveliness that shot her through the heart. She tried distracting herself by focusing on learning her new duties as the future lady of the Brando estate. Kakyoin had been living at Dio’s estate for about a week now. It was nice, very big and grandiose. Dio gifted her some of the most beautiful dresses and accessories she had ever seen. All of them designed with only her in mind. He had a lot of money so she wasn't really surprised he could do that and maintain a large estate. Dio’s children on the other hand were a massive surprise. They were four little angels and she loved being with them. What she didn’t love was their circumstances of coming to be. Kakyoin couldn't really say anything, at least he was caring for them. She also hoped that with these children already, he didn't expect her to give him more.

Even though she had all these new worries, she still thought of that dark haired man. He had been amazing and simply stolen her heart. Yet, she had no clue how to approach these feelings. Distracting herself only did so much, and now she was meeting Dio’s brother. If he was anything like the man himself he's going to be a self-absorbed asshole. Marriage of convenience was truly the only way to describe this union. Dio could be described as nothing less than a man who cared about what made him look good. He wanted the title Kakyoin offered to get himself a leg up in society, especially since his family was from the new rich. Those who got money from the revolution and began wanting to mingle with the nobility. Could you blame them though? Some of them have more money than some of the noble families. Kakyoin’s being one of those poor noble families. Hopefully his brother was kinder than the blond.

Kakyoin did not believe in fate. She wanted to think she had more agency over the parts of her life she could control. Yet, at this moment right now the only thing she could say is that it was the work of fate. He wasn't supposed to come back into her life. He was supposed to stay as a nice memory and sweet daydream. He wasn't supposed to be standing right infront of her, being introduced to her as her fiance's nephew. Jotaro Kujo. That was his name. Jotaro Kujo, the man that plagued her mind. What was she meant to do now? She couldn't just run up to him and ask to be with him. His ocean eyes are looking at her now and she could drown in them. Don't show any emotions, or everyone will know your secret thought the redhead. The night continued and she spent it pretending her heart didn't want to burst out her chest. Kakyoin watched Jotaro excuse himself and took it as her chance to fix her mistakes.

He looked exactly like her did the night she met him. Tall, handsome and piercing eyes. Would it really be too bad if she ran up to him and asked him for a kiss? Yes it would. She was engaged, living with her future husband and caring for her future step-children. He was her fiance's nephew. It would be a huge scandal. Noble woman, Lady Kakyoin, committed adultery and tore apart a rich and powerful family. Maybe a scandal is what she needed to let go of that standard that she's had to uphold. The thought terrified her. Kakyoin couldn't do it. Nomatter how much her heart and body wanted to run into his arms and let the world melt away, like it did that night. At the end of the day, Kakyoin was a prim and proper lady who had to hold up her status as such.

“You and I just met. You never knew me before today. I was never at the pub and we were never together.” Instantly Kakyoin regretted the words that left her lips. Now they were spoken into the world, and she couldn't take them back. She didn't want to look at him in fear she’ll say more regrettable words.

“Alright.” is all Jotaro could reply.
