Shoto remained by Mizumi's side as Recovery Girl healed her. The nurse was not pleased that Mizumi had been put in harm's way after willingly volunteering to assist with training. All Might was going to get an earful from her later.
"I'm sorry I clung to you like that." Mizumi apologized. Shoto shook his head.
"You were scared and injured. I can't blame you for that. I'm just glad you're alright." Shoto replied. Mizumi gave him a soft smile.
“If you’re a student here, why didn’t I see you compete in the sports festival?” Shoto asked curiously.
“I only started here a few weeks ago. My dad got promoted at his job and we had to move, so I had to transfer schools.” Mizumi responded. Shoto gave her a small smile.
“I’m sorry I never came back. A lot’s happened since we last saw each other.” Shoto apologized. Mizumi smiled softly.
“I can tell.” She said, brushing her thumb gently over Shoto’s scar. Although he didn’t show it, Shoto was glad to have his childhood friend back.
Shoto walked Mizumi back to her dorm, and the pair spent the time catching up. Everytime Mizumi would smile or laugh, Shoto’s stomach would flutter.
The pair began spending a lot of time together, catching up on lost time. The two quickly became inseparable, and if you were looking for one of them you were likely to find both.
Mizumi had a way of bringing out a more carefree and happy version of Shoto. When he went to visit his mother with Fuyumi one Saturday afternoon, the two women took notice of his new attitude.
“You certainly seem more cheerful than usual.” Rei told her son. Shoto turned to look at his mother.
“Do I? I hadn’t noticed.” Shoto said. Fuyumi smiled at her brother knowingly.
“Someone has a crush …” Fuyumi sang. Shoto stared at his sister in confusion
