Chapter Text
“No, don't go.” Kartik heard Aman whisper. He turned towards him and saw tear tracks running down Aman's cheeks.
They had returned home at around 2 a.m. and Aman was quite drunk so Kartik dressed him up in fresh clothes and made him lie down on his bed. Kartik had to fight his strong urge to keep Aman close to him. He still didn't know what was up with him.
He moved towards Aman and sat down beside him.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Yes, but please don't go.”
“Okay I won't. I'll stay here.”
“Can't you sleep here today?”
Kartik could feel the heat rise up his cheeks as he nodded and went to his room to bring his pillows.
Kartik watched Aman as he slept, his parted lips, tousled hair, and eyes shut close.
No Kartik you can't mess this up.
You just can't.
He'll pack his bags and leave you.
It didn't take more than five minutes for Kartik to fall asleep.
Next day, at college they were back to being their old selves. Devika as usual sat with Kartik and Aman.
“Toh kal raat date par gaye the tum dono?”
“Why is Devi making things more awkward then they already are?” Kartik thought.
“Nai Devi, mazak kyu kar rahe ho?” Aman tried to laugh.
Only if he could explain how much happy the thought of going on a date with Kartik made him.
Kartik said he needed to use the restroom. After a while Aman made his way to the restroom to let Kartik know that it was getting late.
Then, he immediately regretted that, as he saw a very happy and satisfied Kartik leaning against the wall and Sunny, hovering over his chest, pressing kisses all around. When Kartik noticed Aman, he just stared at him, unable to move.
Aman slammed the door behind him, and ran outside the college. He heard Kartik calling him from the back, shouting at the top of his voice but he kept running.
“I am not coming back this time Kartik. Not this time.”
