Chapter Text

Tenten was nervous. She was not as nervous as this on her debut drama. Tenten prided herself as a very courageous woman but she couldn't stop the queasy feeling in her gut.

"Tenten!" Tenten startled at the sudden yell. "Don't ruin the dress babe, you'd be fine!" Ino huffed, adjusting the lace of her gown for the fifth time that minute. "I worked hard on this dress, you know?"

Tenten felt sorry for the blond woman but she couldn't help herself. "I'm sorry Ino. What if..."  She startled when Ino held her cheeks in both hands, careful not to ruin her make up.

"What if nothing. He loves you and he is waiting out there to get this ceremony done and officially bone you."

"I don't know whether to be encouraged by that speech or disturbed. Sai has gotten into your head. I hope your baby doesn't inherit his pervy jokes." Tenten murmured, patting the woman's swollen stomach as she did so.

"Oh hush!" Ino released her face and smoothed down her dress just because. "I am so happy for you."

"Tenten!"

"Tenten!"

Sakura and Temari bust through the doors and smothered the stunned woman in soft hugs. Temari was Shikamaru's dominatrix...ahem, girlfriend. The sandy blond was so likeable, it didn't take too long to be friends with her.

"You look so beautiful! Are you sure you're not secretly an angel?!" Temari hugged her softly.

"Are you nervous?" Sakura asked.

"Very." Tenten admitted. She was more than nervous.

"Well, a little birdie told me..." Sakura started.

"More like Sasuke." Temari teased.

"Hush! Anyway, Neji is practically pacing a storm right now. He is so nervous!" Sakura squealed. Hearing that Neji was also nervous made Tenten relax a little. She was not the only anxious one here.

"Good morning!" Hanabi chimed as she and a heavily pregnant Hinata made her way through the doors. "How is my soon to be sister-in-law doing?"

"Hanabi, Hinata!" Tenten smiled as they both hugged her. The brunette rubbed on Hinata's baby bump. "Hey there little fella. How many months along is he?" She asked.

"Seven." Hinata replied. "You're joining the mums' club soon enough." She couldn't help but tease with a wag of her brows. Tenten turned red at that and even more at Ino's words.

"Just give her tonight and bam! Neji knocks her up with his super seed."

"Stop it!" Tenten threw her bouquet at her friends as they laughed at her plight. Their laughter was interrupted by two loud and very recognizable voices.

"TENTEN!"

"TENTEN!"

Two ridiculously dressed men barged through the doors with tears streaming down their faces. No seriously, who the hell wears a green tuxedo with orange ties i f they weren't Gai and Lee?! Tenten was used to their colour blindness though.

"Lee. Gai-sensei!"

Fortunately, they didn't glomp her or try to lift her because if they did, Ino was ready to murder for her hard worked dress.

"Our spring lotus has bloomed into a flower of youthfulness!" Gai beamed happily.

"Congratulations on your big day!" Lee seconded with an equal grin.

"Thanks you two."

Anko was the last person to greet her before the ceremony started. The woman looked like she was going to tear up but she remained strong as she pulled Tenten into a hug. "I am so happy for you." The purple haired woman whispered.

Tenten nervously took Gai's arm for he was posing as her father. Media houses and reporters filled the place as expected of a wedding between two celebrities, and some fans were there too. The security were doing a good job of reeling them in.

The wedding march began and Tenten walked into the church with Gai. This was it. Her big day. The day she got married to the love of her life. Tenten didn't expect a married life of beds of roses, after all roses had thorns, but she was prepared to weather through everything with her husband at her side. In hardship, challenges, arguments, fights, disasters, poverty, sickness, good times, love, wealth, health, she was prepared to be with him through them all.

Her breath caught when she took in the figure of her husband to be. His body frame adorned a white tuxedo that was primly tailored to hug his muscles handsomely. The lavender shirt he wore underneath not only matched with her bouquet but accentuated his eyes as well. His dark hair was styled to fit his look perfectly...he was just so perfect.

Neji gasped when Tenten finally revealed herself, marching up to the alter with Gai in stride. She was so beautiful. The white dress which complimented her milky skin was cut low at the chest to show off her beautiful collarbones. Not too revealing, just enough to show off her nice shoulders and collarbones.

Her hair, adorned with lavender shaped hair clips, were not in their signature hairstyle for once, but Neji was not complaining. His wife to be was so breathtaking. Wife. Tenten was going to be his in just a few minutes. Neji was overwhelmed. He had many things on his mind but only a few were coherent to him. Like how he would love and cherish her forever. Like how he would never let mistakes to break them apart. Like how beautiful she would look carrying their baby. Like how lively his home would be with their adorable chibilings running about.

Gai and Lee were full out bawling which was embarrassing because Lee was the best man. Anko tried to hold in her happy tears in vain. Hiashi had a serene smile on his face as if he was remembering his own wedding but other than them, everybody else wore happy smiles.

This was Neji's dream. Tenten was his dream. Just like their first date again, electricity ran through Neji's body when he held Tenten's hand. She must've felt it too because she shivered pleasantly. "You look beautiful." Neji whispered softly for her ears only.

"You too." Tenten turned red at her words. "I mean handsome, not beautiful. I mean you're beautiful if in the right clothes but right now you look handsome. Very handsome." Neji smiled fondly at Tenten's rambling. Though he looked calm on the outside, his cold hand told Tenten otherwise. He was just as jittery as she was.

The priest, fortunately, skipped to the vows and rings and... "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the –!" Tenten didn't need to be told twice before kissing her husband, dammit!

Cheers filled the hall as the newly weds shared and relished in their kiss.

Xxx the reception xxX

Everybody moved to the location where the fun part of every wedding took place. The reception. Guests, friends and family gave gifts to the couple while some (the majority) went to the buffet table to serve themselves before sitting for the entertainment.

"Today's a wonderful day, isn't it?" The MC, Yamato, started. "We're here to celebrate the love between these two amazing people but I'm sure it's really the food you're here for." People laughed at this because it was true. "Something amusing is about to happen now. The bride and groom are going to show just how much they know about each other through a game called Shoes."

As Yamato talked, some organizers set two chairs facing back to back in front of the newly wed.

"Please seat here." Yamato gestured to the seats. The couple moved as per the MC's instructions and took their seats back to back. "Now remove your shoes and hand one over to me." Tenten's brow raised but she did as she was told anyway. What kind of game was this?

Yamato handed one of Neji's shoes to Tenten and handed one of Tenten's to Neji.

"The requirements are met. I would explain the rules now." Yamato spoke into the mic. "I would ask you two a question about yourselves. If you think Neji fits best as the answer, you are to raise his shoe above your heads and vice versa. Do we get that?"

"Yeah." Tenten replied.

"Yes." Neji hummed.

"Good. Now people, let's see how much they know about each other." Yamato grinned. "I'll start with small questions. Between you two, who eats the most?"

Neji raised Tenten's shoe without a doubt while Tenten contemplated before raising her shoe up.

"That's a match. Next question. Who was the first to confess their feelings?"

Neji's shoe was raised from both ends. Awws of affection echoed from the crowd.

"Hmm, I would like to know how that happened. Don't we all?" Yeses answered Yamato's question while the couple shook their heads. How Neji confessed was rather complicated, to be honest. The mic was handed to Tenten despite her protests.

"Well..." The bride blushed. "Neji confessed to me in front of his parents." Not the truth but not a lie. A vague truth. And besides, she didn't owe the public any details.

"Romantic, isn't it?" Yamato cooed. "Next question. Who was the first to initiate a kiss between you two?"

Both seemed to think about the question. While the first kiss between them was unforgettable and breathtaking, it was difficult to remember who exactly kissed the other first. Was it Tenten? Was it Neji?

For both parties, both shoes went up. "Oya oya, what's this I'm seeing? The both of you just gravitated towards each other?" Yamato teased and the crowd released taunting sounds and cat calls. "Oky. This question is challenging and embarrassing. Between the two of you, who farts the most?"

People laughed at both the question and the priceless looks on the newly weds' faces. Neji raised Tenten's shoe up. She had an habit of breaking wind in front of him just to annoy him after all. She farted the most.

Tenten raised Neji's shoe up. He liked to behave as if he had never taken a dump in his life talk less stoop as low as to fart. He did though so she was outing him.

"This is a first, the shoes aren't matching."

Tenten turned around and saw her shoe up. "Hey! You liar, you fart the most between us!" She lowered Neji's hand and tried to raise his own shoe up but Neji was faster.

"And are you the one that farts less between us?!" The man exclaimed incredulously, although amusement filled his eyes.

"You're supposed to cover for me." Tenten pouted. Neji's ultimate weakness. The man couldn't help himself as he leaned over and caught her puckered lips with his. The crowd cheering was his reminder that there were eyes on them. Killjoy.

After their cute display of affection, it was time for the bride to throw the bouquet. All the single women crowded behind Tenten as she backed them. Even Hanabi was there to catch the bouquet. Sakura and Temari pushed at each other with their hips to catch the flower that was approaching them, only for it to fly over their heads and land in Shikamaru's lap instead.

The lazy man looked at the purple bouquet in his lap and chuckled ironically at it. "What a drag." He muttered as Temari took the garter and sauntered over to him. Her face did not hide the mischief in it for a second.

Cheers rang loudly as Temari slipped the garter unto Shikamaru's leg and only got louder when she didn't stop at his thigh. Shikamaru bristled on his seat. What was she doing?! The garter crawled higher and higher and cheers rang louder and louder until Temari (that woman would be his death one day) stopped just below his crotch. By the way, his leg was raised upon Temari's shoulder.

The blond gave him a sly grin when she saw his baffled but amused look and dropped his leg. The crowd chanted for them to kiss but stopped short when Shikamaru got on his knee in front of Temari.

"What a drag. When that bouquet landed in front of me, I thought wow, fate's really doing its job." Shikamaru fished out a small black box from his pocket and opened it, revealing a beautiful ring inside. "You're such a drag but there's nothing I would do to change that. You're my drag and I..." Shikamaru faltered with an embarrassed mutter. He was expecting Temari to have an outburst before he said this!

"I– I want Temari you. Would you let me?"

Temari bit her lip, very surprisingly gentle about the whole matter. "Yes, you cry baby. Yes!" And she dragged Shikamaru upwards with his tie and smothered him with hot kisses.

"Sasuke, you're next!"

Naruto's voice rang out from the crowd and everyone laughed. The man in question grunted and gave his goofy friend a slap on his head. "Usuratonkachi." Sakura blushed when the dark haired man locked gazes with her before looking away with a slight blush on his cheeks. She just knew her wedding would be soon.

After the greeting of guests and many other whatnots, the couple of the day were in each other's embrace, swaying to the rhythm of the slow song.

Tenten had her arms around Neji's neck and his on her waist. "Finally." Neji whispered, letting his forehead meet hers as they waltzed aimlessly on the dance floor. His hands traced her sides lightly but the touch was enough to send jolts of pleasure through Tenten. "You're mine."

"Only yours." Tenten whispered back. Her eyes slipped closed as Neji leaned in and joined their lips together. The kiss was slow and soft, like the song they were waltzing to, but it contained every ounce of emotion there was. Every bit of love and satisfaction they could ever feel.

"I am yours."
