Kate POV
Boys words made my heart skip a beat. For a few seconds everyone was silent. I looked at Castle. His eyes was already looking at me. I grabbed his hand, he lightly smiled. I could see the fear and need of protecting me in his eyes.
"It's gonna be OK. No one besides our friends and family know about my pregnancy. You even gave bar tenders an afternoon off."
"Yes that's true, but what about your doctors?" Castle asked.
"Bro they are restricted by patient-doctor confidentiality." Espo said.
"Yeah, but we are still going to come up with some protective details." Ryan said.
"Come on Ryan, there is a lot of pregnant women in this country or even in NY. Don't think that some psycho will made me quit my job." I said still hoping that there is no other connection between this deaths.
"No Kate, you don't understand, those women's were all police, private investigators or scientist's working with law enforcement. You are police Kate and your husband is a P.I. who happens to be best selling author. You are this killer type, plus your fame could be his way of getting on the first page on the newspaper." Kevin respond and again everyone was silent.
"Kate we have to play it carefully, you can be a target and I will not survive losing you and the baby." Castle said when Alexis joined the conversation. She looked confused, but hadn't ask any questions yet.
"Listen everybody we don't know it yet, but if there is a serial killer in this city, who is targeting pregnant women connected to law enforcement, then we will catch him. I will personally put every available cop on this case. We will also take some precautions. Right now everything looks good for us. Nobody else know about the baby and it can stay that way for some time. I will awoid all kinds of interviews. The ones about Castle books can be without me and the ones about our cases can be handled by Kevin, Javi, Lanie or even you Mrs. Gates, since you were acting Capitan for the last 3 months. I will also wear some oversized clothes. I won't work in the field. Crime scene visits only if everything will be secured. We will discuss every detail tomorrow. Now please try to relax and celebrate." I said.
"Yeah, I will call Pearlmutter later and ask him some questions. For now we should be happy for our friends." Lanie answered while hugging me.
"To little Caskett baby! I can't wait to be your uncle." Espo made a toast and everyone raises their glasses. We all joked and smiled for the whole evening, but the tought of the new serial killer was still in the back of our minds. Now I know I shouldn't have push Ryan and Espo into telling me this, but at least I'm ready for tomorrow and from the look on Castle face he is ready too. I know he will investigate this case with Alexis and Hailey with or without my permission. Looking at the group of people ready to find this asshole, I relaxed. There is no way he or she can hide from us, no matter how hard you will try. If you are there, then watch your back, because I'm coming for you. Nobody mess with Capitan Beckett, especially when she is experiencing her pregnancy hormones.
