Chapter Text

2:15 in the morning marked when Cozy checked in for the tenth time.

He would curse every time he turned on the bed in a desperate search for a comfortable position to sleep but unfortunately it was not the position the source of the problem and he didn't believe it was insomnia, no, it was his thoughts and it was none other than Ritchie who occupied them.

He was thinking about the argument they had had and he still didn't believe it. They hadn't seen each other for a year and the first thing he did was argue with him. What the hell? But maybe, just maybe Ritchie was right and only him was responsible for not ending on good terms with the guitarist. Probably, in some way, it was his own fault that Ritchie hated him now.

He couldn't lie to himself, he was terrible at it. So, he had missed him. More than missing him, he had forgotten the strong tension they had. That was the main reason they agreed to be lovers or else they were going to end with bloody knuckles.

'Should I go and apologize?' Cozy thought. But even if he did, it wouldn't have any use. Cozy knew Ritchie well enough to know that when something got into his head it was hard to change his mind.

Gentle knocks on the door made him lift his head slightly. He was so deep in thought that maybe those knocks on the door never existed. He had to wait a few seconds to listen to them again and make sure it wasn't his imagination. He got up quickly with an idea of who it could be.

It was probably Michael. The guitarist liked to have late night talks on sensitive topics and express himself. Actually Michael was a very sensitive human being and a good person... They just had the bad luck that they didn't like each other.

When he opened the door, he expected everything except to see those green eyes again but this time they didn't have a frown above. Almost in an unconscious act, Cozy smiled and leaned against the door in a flirtatious way.

"Missing me already? I thought you weren't going to miss me." Cozy asked with a teasing tone.

Ritchie felt something like vertigo or those famous 'butterflies' that were called when he heard Cozy say those words. Obviously he ignored his feelings. "I couldn't sleep" Ritchie stare at him a few moments trying to taking him in. Cozy was in pajamas, and by pajamas he meant just gray pants which also means, he was shirtless. Also his hair was ruffled a little bit.

"Now that you mention it, I couldn't either" He confessed while gently scratching his eye. Ritchie found that adorable and started cursing the drummer's charm. Ritchie realized that being mad at Cozy was more difficult than he thought.

"Can I come in or do I have to talk to you from the hallway?" Ritchie asked in his typical dry tone.

"I don't know, can you?" He asked playfully and Ritchie just rolled his eyes entering the room anyway.

Cozy closed the door softly and leaned against it on his back looking at the guitarist who without much thought sat on the small white sofa while crossing his legs.

"So why are you here?" Cozy asked seriously this time. He didn't mind that Ritchie was in his room but it did seem odd that he acted as if nothing had happened.

"To finish our conversation" He replied in the same way. Actually, Ritchie was coming to apologize, in a some weird way. Because even though Cozy left the band and they hadn't contacted, he was one of his best friends, maybe one of the best he has ever had.

"Well, go on then" Said Cozy giving him his full attention. The drummer knew Ritchie. He knew he hadn't come for that but it was better to play along for now.

Ritchie was having a problem controlling his eyes which always seemed to end up on Cozy's chest. The truth is that Ritchie did came to continue their conversation but he didn't expect to find a shirtless drummer after this long.

"I want to know the real reason" Ritchie sued.

"The real reason of what?" Cozy crossed his arms making his worked muscles slightly stand out and Ritchie cursed in his mind.

"The real reason of why you left" Ritchie fought his eyes again while at the same time he was having flashbacks of all the times he touched that chest and all the times that chest was on top of him.

"I already told you that" Cozy said confused and Ritchie remain in silence. "It was better for everyone and you know it. We were perfectly capable of killing each other if we spend one more year together" Cozy wasn't sure what Ritchie wanted, that was the only true reason for him. But the only one thing the drummer was sure of, was that Ritchie didn't want to know that. In fact, Ritchie didn't know what else to ask to keeping up his lie of why he was in his room at 2 am.

"How could you be so sur-"

"And you didn't come to my room for this," Cozy snapped confidently. "You didn't come to 'finish talking' because in fact, you're not talking, you're asking me something you already knew so why did you came?" Cozy took Ritchie by surprise leaving him speechless. The drummer was one of the few people who could leave him speechless. Ritchie cursed Cozy for the umpteenth time in the night. He cursed his gift for guessing and deducing things quickly, because the guitarist, being a mysterious person, having his thoughts deduced so quickly was frustrating.

"Well, Mr know-it-all, why do you think I came here?" Ritchie asked trying to defend himself from the exposure Cozy had left him on.

The drummer was silent for a few moments, making Ritchie feel a little anxious for the answer.

"For me." He answered firmly after being silent for a few seconds. "You came for me. I'm not as replaceable as you say I am." He repeated but decisively but somewhat sweet. Cozy didn't know if he was correct in saying that he came specifically for him, but something told him that Ritchie was here for him.

"You're an egocentric bastard aren't you?" Richie replied. The guitarist wanted to sound mean but you could tell he had been caught off guard. "I didn't come for you." Ritchie lied. Even if Ritchie wanted to lie to himself saying he didn't come 'for him' and he was only trying to be on good terms with Cozy, he couldn't. He had come for the drummer.

The eyes had the power to speak thing that normally we wouldn't say and Ritchie's eyes were definitely begging for something... forgiveness maybe or something else? Cozy could read them but he wasn't sure, it had been almost a year since something happened between them. The fact that only they understood what 'For me' and 'For you' meant made things more tense and the drummer hated tense situations. If Ritchie came for him, he will have to show it.

"Right" Cozy said and at the same time as Ritchie blinked, the drummer was in front of him with his hands in both armrests leaving Ritchie unable to escape. "Lie again but this time look into my eyes and do it" He purred. "Say you did not come for me. Say you did not think about me tonight" Cozy approached his face to the guitarist's making his breath collide against Ritchie's jaw.

Ritchie looked into Cozy's eyes and inevitably felt a churning in his stomach as heat rose to his cheeks hoping it wasn't so notorious. He felt his heart begin to gently pick up speed as he faced that dangerous look so characteristic of the drummer, causing him to have flashbacks again of the times where that look was the beginning of everything.

Why? Why did Cozy have to be this cheesy sometimes? Although they weren't just the cheesy words, it was the way he said them, that... dangerous almost dirty way but still chessy somehow

"No..." Ritchie managed to say. That's right Ritchie, play his game.

"So, no you weren't wanting me? Or no you won't say it again?" Cozy asked again using his dirty tone making Ritchie feel goosebumps. He hated these emotions and Cozy was the only one who could make him feel them.

Both musicians could not control their gazes. They were so close to each other and there was always a tension between them, as well as a small, almost teenager nervousness. Ritchie's eyes helplessly moved up and down from his lips to his chest while Cozy involuntarily leaned even further over Ritchie and still staring at his lips and his eyes.

They weren't in love, of course not. They just shared a somewhat expressive sexual tension, made of passion and sometimes the lines seemed blurry but they knew they enjoyed being what they were now... lovers. But Cozy didn't know if they still were the latter.

Cozy stepped back a bit, gesture that the guitarist appreciated and then Cozy grinned "You have gone quiet, what is it? Is it me? Is it my chest?" He asked with a smirk of superiority. "If it's my chest, you can take your shirt off and we'll be even" He said jokingly but there was something quite serious in his voice.

"Don't flatter yourself, your chest isn't something special or worth of my attention" Ritchie lied again. Of fucking course Cozy's chest was something special and worth to look at. It was all clean. He didn't have a single hair and that was so... he can't express himself over men but it was some kind of... pretty and his pectorals were strongly made. But of course, he never said that to him and never will. Ritchie took a quick look at his damn shoulders, those shoulders. Then his arms and finally his hands..."I'm not taking my shirt off" Ritchie said kinda embarrassed

"Do you want me to take your shirt off?"Cozy knew Ritchie wanted him but he just had to give him a push or 'get his attention' by insisting. But he didn't expect the guitarist to put a hand on his nude chest, stopping him when he wanted to kiss him. The drummer froze for a few seconds while he saw Ritchie look away with still a blush on his cheeks.

"We are done, remember?" Said Ritchie "And as you already know, I don't really like keeping relationships with ex-bandmates" It seems that Ritchie had recomposed his cold personality. But Cozy's smile widened.

"We are far from being done if you came to my room" Cozy straightened up and took a few steps back. Ritchie felt a cold emptiness and he hated Cozy for it. "And ex what? Ex-friends? Ex-bandmates or Ex-lovers?" He asked and Ritchie remained in silence again. "Alright" He said in such a low tone that it seemed like a growl even though he kept his crooked smile.

Cozy moved further away to turn his back on the guitarist.

Ritchie smirked. He had said that to see how Cozy would react and the bastard, despite having the best dirty talking, was as correct as a medieval knight. He stopped when Ritchie asked him and he also stepped back. The drummer hadn't reacted the way Ritchie wanted and as soon as he left his body he felt something that belonged to him was taken away from him and it was Cozy's attention.

Ritchie could sense that they were both needing something from each other. He could feel that there was a spark there between them that still was burning but ... should they? Would it have consequences? This could be their very last night?

Well, fuck all that.

"Do you want something to drink? I have-" Cozy began to offer when he was interrupted by a tackling that knocked him onto his bed. He felt a weight on top of him and when he opened his eyes he saw Ritchie with a wicked smirk. His hands were on the drummer's shoulders, his legs were between Cozy's legs, and his face were so close to his, almost touching that split chin with his lips.

"So you did wanted me" Cozy lifted his head a bit emphasizing the 'did'. "Or did you just want my attention again? You always so needy" He squinted his eyes as he shook his head.

"Shut" Ritchie said approaching to kiss him but when he was about to do it Cozy took Ritchie by the waist and rolled him to finish with his back up the ceiling and with the guitarist under him, caged between his arms.

"Is it bad that I'm pleased with that?" Cozy laughed and after a quick smile, he leaned over Ritchie to bring their lips together in a delicate but in also a needy way. As the kiss grew more and more passionate, Ritchie brought his hands to Cozy's black hair and tangling his fingers on that soft hair. Once he did that, the drummer left Ritchie's lips and brought them to his neck where he began to completely take Ritchie's neck, leaving wet kisses and occasional bites while he smiled a little to himself at the soft murmurs of pleasure his actions earned him.

Ritchie didn't know when the drummer had become an expert kisser but he was grateful for it every damn second. His fingers moved gently over the curves of Cozy's back outlining them. Ritchie knew those curves as he knew the palm of his hand.

"Can I still accept your offer?" Ritchie spoke almost in a whisper.

"Of course, for you is still valid." Cozy murmured into Ritchie's neck feeling the drummer's hot breath on his skin and it seemed to burn making him sigh.

Cozy without waiting another second, he shoved his hands under Ritchie's shirt. The guitarist expected the drummer's hands to be cold, but was surprised to find them warm on his already steaming body. While his shirt was leaving his skin, Cozy replaced it with kisses all over his belly and chest. The kisses felt cold fresh on the warm skin, especially the kisses on his abdomen. The drummer moved expertly, using his hands to caress as he kissed making Ritchie melt moving like a fish in the water on his skin. The guitarist's adorable gasps were music for Cozy's ears.

But when Cozy bit that curved waist Ritchie let out the first moan of the night.

When Ritchie's shirt fell to the floor, the two began a game of taking off each other's clothes until they were exposed in front of each other, highlighting the different shades of their skin and heating the things up even more.

They rejoined in a kiss, but this time it was hungry and even more exciting than the last. Cozy was kissing Ritchie's jaw line when the named one abruptly kissed him and his hands took possession of the drummer's chest. He began to stroke those pecs with his thumbs gently and slowly as if they were made of velvet. The taste and the touch of this moody man was always so much more rewarding than whatever short-lived pleasure that came from the random girls, Cozy discovered that a long time ago.

Cozy had a way, a special way to get him. No matter what he'd do with his hands, Ritchie was always going to fall for it and sometimes that was so frustrating but to be honest, he didn't complain because he enjoyed it.

Cozy brought his lips to Ritchie's stomach again and began to lower even further leaving kisses around his member, teasing him. Cozy has always been an expert in that matter, in teasing, in leaving someone yearning him. But when Cozy was about to start his work on Ritchie's cock, the guitarist stopped him.

The, now curious, drummer changed direction, slowly working his way back up till Ritchie's mouth. The guitarist took him by the nape of his neck and bent him towards him until his mouth was on Cozy's ear.

"Fuck me." Ritchie demanded. That statment had sounded so determined that Cozy froze for a few seconds. "I can't stand one minute more for you to be inside..." He whispered again. Ritchie wasn't a sweet talker and this definitely didn't sound like it. Ritchie had always been a little impatient when it came to sex, he got carried away by emotions and passions quickly. It wasn't that Cozy was bothered by it, on the contrary, it turned him on. Although that has never been a reason to not to take it slow and easy.

Cozy kissed his neck and shoulders again. That last gesture seemed to turn Ritchie on because while the drummer opened and reached for something in the nightstand with one hand, the guitarist didn't resist and began to kiss Cozy's shoulders as well. When Cozy found the thing he wanted he showed it to Ritchie and shook it a bit playfully. Cozy learned to pack priorities firts when he went to touring and even if it didn't seem like it, lube is always a priority.

He tossed the little bottle aside and with care he pressed his lubed cock against Ritchie, pushing until he felt a hot tightness wrapped around him. He felt how that ring of muscle was stretching within him and he waited for it to allow him inside. Cozy grunted softly and Ritchie found that exciting.

"Oh fuc -... jesus" gasped the guitarist feeling Cozy's hot cock and as his entrance began to palpitate at a slow rhythm. At that moment Ritchie was brought to his senses, remembering everything. Remembering Cozy's smooth and thick member, fitting inside him as perfect as a puzzle piece and it seemed that his ring also remembered Cozy's size as he began to feel more comfortable and the desire grew in him.

When Cozy saw Ritchie release his grip on the sheet, he knew the guitarist relaxed enough to let him in deeper, further into the heat of that desired body. When he felt he was completely inside Ritchie threw his head back arching his back a little. Their hearts began to pound in their chest, almost feeling like they were in sync.

Cozy started out slow but increased speed on each thrust and no matter how fast or slow, every thrust was pure pleasure and Ritchie felt like overcoming waves full of lust. Ritchie was trying his best to stop gasping and low moanings to keep his cool but with Cozy it was impossible, he had a way of driving him crazy that he had missed. Ritchie was always quiet and reserved but he could have his moments too.

"Don't." Cozy said "We are in a hotel, not in a motel, the walls are thick". The drummer whispered in Cozy's ear with his typical impure tone making Ritchie get goosebumps again.

To encourage Ritchie to continue making pleasant sounds, Cozy placed his hand around Ritchie's erection and only then, the guitarist let out the second moan of the night. Happy that his plan worked, he continued stroking his member matching his hand with his thrusts. Cozy learned to control the rush of power building between them long ago.

Cozy stroked and stroked his hard erection stealing Ritchie his precious moans. The drummer leaned over Ritchie again to kiss him exchanging their soft moans. Ritchie broke the kiss to let out a gasp full of pleasure. Cozy stood there, leaning on the guitarist's cheek, feeling Ritchie's breath on his ear every time he moaned.

Suddenly Ritchie started to jerk and cry meaning that he was close to come. Then Cozy picked up speed by moving his hips faster and with even deeper penetrations and that was just what Ritchie was needing. He was needing that adrenaline when you are about to come to get more excited and on that way feel closer to the edge.

The guitarist was about to lose himself in Cozy when he closed his eyes tightly feeling a hot feeling right down his spine. Ritchie jerked once more and came into Cozy's hand moaning his name.

Cozy gasped as he felt close too. He continued with his rapid and eager thrusts to reach the climax already out of control. Ritchie was completely lost in himself enjoying his own afterglow when another overwhelming sensation distracted him from his climax...

And it was the warm and sticky liquid of Cozy being released inside him. Ritchie didn't know which sensation was the most pleasant.

Cozy gasped again as he gave the last push, then withdraw his member from the warmth of Ritchie's body.

After falling onto the bed Cozy, as sweet as he was, he covered both of them with the white blanket. They were both staring at the ceiling, lost in thought but what they didn't know was that they were thinking the same thing: 'This was their goodbye'.

Now Cozy understood all, this was an apology in a very Ritchie way. He would never say 'I'm sorry' but he maybe would prove it to you with actions instead. Cozy wasn't sure if this was what Ritchie originally wanted but he was sure that this was more than he expected, a very convincing apology for today's argument.

Ritchie knew that Cozy was going to forgive him and also he knew that Cozy was going to understand what he meant by coming to his room. What he didn't know was that Cozy and him still had that fire, that desire for each other. Ritchie thought that those feelings died when he left the band and Ritchie told him to fuck off and curse the hell out of him but, he didn't like to agree with other people but, as Cozy said 'They were far from being done'.

Cozy knew that Ritchie never stayed after sex but this time it seemed like he had no plans to leave. In one quick movement he put his boxer shorts back on and went back to bed. Cozy smiled and looked at him curiously. The drummer mimicked Ritchie's boxer move and when he went back to bed he met the guitarist with a thoughtful stare.

"You're right." Ritchie said break the silence. Even the silence between them sounded so different now.

"About what?" Asked Cozy with a puzzled look but with a lopsided smile.

"We would have killed each other" Ritchie laughed softly, covering himself up to his neck. Cozy was one of the few people with the privilege of seeing Ritchie laugh and smile often.

"Told you" Cozy replied laughing, imitating Ritchie again covering himself up to his neck as well.

"And you know what?" Ritchie asked looking at how Cozy was putting his arms under the pillow.

"What?" He said smiling, already guessing what Ritchie was about to say.

"I would have won", replied the guitarist with a smile full of superiority. Cozy knew it, he was going to say that.

Cozy snorted "You wish" He returned defiantly but his voice was full of fun.

They didn't when they would meet again or if this was their last time together but they didn't want to think about it either because the truth was, that it was uncertain and the world of music was too small and too dramatic. They were so comfortable with each other's company just like in the early years of Rainbow and for a moment they forgot about their bands, feeling that peace in mind and the relaxation that sometimes the musicians need so badly.

Notes:

And this is the end of this... one (two) shot.

The first chapter is shorter than this one but that wasn't part of the plan...

I really hope you enjoyed this ♡♡

Notes:

Yeyyyy another one! The truth is that, I don't care if I wrote them a little bit out of character... I just wanted to write something so gay inspired by Gerry Rafferty's lyrics.
