Malleus couldn't believe what he sees a bloody you coughing up blood it was blurry vision mixed with tears, he shouldn't have brought you here , he should've kept his distance, you’re hurt because of him.
“ malleus ” a weak voice breaks him out of his trance you look at him weakly yet still eyes full of love yet almost devoid of life. You were dying.
Right in front of his eyes.
Catching your weak form and looking at the place where the bullet was from. There was no one, they had escaped. Rage consumes him.
“ my love.. m- malleus l-love ” cupping his face with the energy you have left
The panic on his eyes, he look terrified.
You wanted to smile for him.
“ m-malleus i-i love y-you so so much n-never forget th-that please ” coughing another pool of blood. Malleus pulled you closer.
Please no please no!
“ my love please don't leave me please don't, we still had so much to do, go public, get married, have children! ” Letting out a pained sob.
“ malleus you're g-going to b-be fine, I know you're going to be fine ok? ”
“ no no I'll call for an ambulance”
“ malleus we both know that this going to be good-bye “
“ we still have a life to spend together! We promised! I’m not letting you go.. ”
Dialing the emergency number and explaining the situation.
Looking back down at you, malleus whispers sweet words to you.
“ don't give up yet my love please ”
“ can you kiss me please ” you looked so weak he already tried to stop the bleeding with his shirt yet it could only do so much.
Malleus shook his head, he knew if he did it would be a goodbye.
“ please y/n just hold on please they're coming ok you're going to be fine love ” foreheads touching you gazing at his face, he looked so scared so vulnerable.
“ please just grant this wish of mine malleus please ” speaking weakly , you’re using the last of your strength.
Malleus wanted to deny it, you were going to be ok. Right?
Nodding his head you smile.
Placing his lips on yours, the kiss was sweet and so full of love, it has been a while since you and Malleus have kissed due to how busy he was. It was painful the thought of this being the last kiss you and him will ever share, it was painful thinking you were already leaving him.
The heat from your lips slowly getting colder. You close your eyes, if this is where you die.
You didn't want to die, you wanted to be with malleus.
Your heartbeat stopped, you were cold. You died in his arms that night.
Malleus's heart stopped for a moment, he was warm, he was alive, yet he felt so cold and alone.
Opening his eyes while yours remain shut.
The ambulance finally arrived a little too late.
Malleus lets out a bitter chuckle.
What if he was normal, what if you never met him, what if he didn't have enemies, what if he didn't accept your feelings that day? You would be happy you would be alive.
The emergency workers pried you out of his arms, he tried to hold on but he was tired from crying, they were stronger, the light from the ambulance blended with his tears.
The sound of the ambulance blares in the background.
“ are you alright sir Draconia? ”
“ I wonder ”
“ sir Draconia would you like to ride in the ambulance, I can tell they meant a lot to you. ”
“ yeah ”
He was numb, he stood up. Walking towards the ambulance, seeing them trying to revive you.
' what is the use they're dead ' the realization hitting him again, fresh tears drip down his face
The people looking at him, sympathy clear in their eyes. Climbing into the ambulance sitting on the chair.
He couldn't take it anymore sobbing next to your side as they proclaimed you dead on arrival. More confirmation that you were gone, you were robbed of your future, you and him were robbed of a future together.
He didn't care about his reputation, you were gone.
Arriving at the hospital composing himself, seeing the staff take care of you, dragging you to a room, he sits down on the metal chair so cold. he contacts: Lilia vanrouge.
It picks up, a cheery voice answers, his caretaker.
“malleus! How was your date with y/n? ”
“ Lilia can you come to the hospital.. ”
It was quite on the other side for a minute
“ yeah I can come what happened ” malleus could hear Lilia, silver and sebek going out door in urgency.
Taking a deep breath.
“ Lilia can you put it on speaker? ”
“yeah sure ” you can hear Lilia driving fast
“ Lilia , silver , sebek.. they're they're ” the waterworks were back choking back a sob, why did you go so suddenly.
Lilia drove faster seeing the location of malleus on his phone.
“ take your time malle- ” interrupting
“ they're dead Lilia ”
A chorus of malleus and waka-sama of concern and their own hearts breaking.
You made malleus happy you were part of the family, Malleus's family approved of you. The only reason it wasn't public was for your safety.
The three arrived and consoled malleus. They cried together.
The day of your funeral was dark and gloomy like the sky was mourning with them.
Looking at you in the casket, he was numb he couldn't cry anymore. It felt hard to breath.
“ I love you my love, I’m sorry ” a lone tear escapes his eyes and another and another until he finally lets out a broken sob.
You were truly gone, you left him with a broken heart.
So many people cried on the day of your funeral.
Looking up at the sky, he doesn’t want to let go. A sudden pain strikes his head.
‘ then do not let go, there is a way ’
Looking around confused, did he hear right? Was there a way to save you? To bring you back to him?
‘ that is right, child ’ the voice smooth as velvet, seemed noble and wise as if it had done this time and time again.
“ how can I trust you, that you are not just a hallucination caused by my grief ” it would have been weird if malleus was in the vicinity of people talking to himself , so he went to a more isolated area.
‘ that I can’t say yet, child. One day it will make sense just not today.
“ if I do what you say, are you sure you can bring them back ”
