Chapter Text
After three days since Adrien started sleeping with the weighted blanket, Adrien leaves his room as Chat Noir, only one thought in mind.
I have to tell Marinette about Chat Blanc.
He ran across the rooftops, every step closer to Marinette’s house.
He was about two buildings from hers when sudden thoughts made its way into his brain.
What if Marinette didn't want to hear his problems? What if Marinette got mad at him? What if Marinette didn't want to hang out with him anymore because he had gotten akumatized? What if he made Marinette have nightmares too, like Ladybug? What if I am alone in this after all?
No.
Marinette had said she was going to listen to him, and he trusts her. He knows Marinette would never leave him alone. Not even if she was hurting.
He sighed, and continued his way to Marinette’s house.
He landed on her balcony and knocked on her trapdoor.
Marinette opened the trapdoor with a confused face, but when she saw him, her frown turned into a grin.
“Chat!” She said, happily. She moved out of the way, and let Chat enter her room.
“Hello, Princess.” Chat gave a small smile and waved his hand.
Marinette, who was kneeling next to Chat on her bed, threw herself at him and hugged him tight. Chat chuckled and hugged her back.
“I’m so happy you’re here. Did you eat well? Drink enough water? Got enough sleep?” Marinette bombarded him with questions.
“Yes, yes, and at the beginning I didn’t, but I rested well with the weighted blanket you gave me, that by the way, thank you so much.” Chat said softly.
“Of course, Chat.” Marinette smiled.
“Um. Marinette?”
“Yes?” Marinette let go of him, and sat crossed-legged in front of him.
“I have to tell you something.” Chat said, fidgeting with his gloved fingers, looking down at his lap.
“Of course, Chat. Go ahead.” Marinette said.
“So, um.” Chat started, but couldn’t get the words he needed out of him.
“Take your time, Chat.”
“L-Ladybug recently told me about this, and it was the main reason I disappeared for these past three or four days. Um. I don’t know how to tell you this, so I’m just going to say it. I was akumatized.” Chat blurts out and raises his head to see Marinette’s reaction. Her face had an indescribable emotion for a second, before she frowned.
“Wait, what? When?” Marinette asked.
“About nine or ten months ago, according to Ladybug. It was in another timeline, though. I didn’t know about it until five nights ago, so don’t think I didn’t tell you before because I didn’t want to, it’s just I didn’t know. Really. Please don’t be mad at me.” He hunched over, making himself smaller.
“I believe you, Chat.” Marinette said, placing her hand on his shoulder. “And I’m not mad at you. I could never be mad at you for feeling scared or sad.” Marinette said, and Chat looked up.
“Why? I killed all of Paris. I destroyed the moon, which undoubtedly caused floods all over the world. I let myself be consumed by negative energies and got myself akumatized. It’s all my fault. I killed you. I’m a monster. I-” Chat started saying, tears falling from his eyes and landing on his lap.
“Chat. Stop. Look at me.” Marinette said, raising his chin, his green eyes locking with her blue eyes. “It’s not your fault. It’s not your fault you feel emotions, everyone does. So please, don’t blame yourself.” Marinette said, now crying as well.
Chat threw his arms around his best friend, and sobbed on her shoulder. She rubbed his back, comfortingly. She brushed her hand against his hair, her nails softly massaging his scalp.
Chat let everything out, knowing Marinette wouldn’t let him get akumatized again. He could feel her head moving, as she looked around in case there were any akumas.
He needed this right now, and was glad someone was giving it to him.
After what felt like hours, Chat started getting sleepy.
Marinette offered him cuddles, which he happily agreed to. They found themselves under Marinette’s weighted blanket. Marinette had her arms around his shoulder, and Chat had his head on top of her collarbone, her heartbeat a soothing sound. He had his arms wrapped around her waist, and their legs were tangled.
It was Tuesday and they had school tomorrow, and Chat knew he couldn’t stay on Marinette’s bed for the whole night.
He would wake up in two hours and head to his house, but for now, he would be with Marinette, breathing her scent and holding her against him.
