Chapter Text
Si-hyuk’s prophecy has been fulfilled and so this starts the new era. The deities were to wake up soon and different than they were before but still regaining their memories.
Namjoon was still alive, but in a different dimension. Pascal was set alight, as per pheonix tradition, and she is to rule a different land with her son. The rules were simple and set in stone.
Roha stood in her new residence awaiting the resurrection of the others so humanity can start again. She has been waiting for 7, and they are now to come soon. Their death could easily be compared to being knocked out with anesthesia before an operation. It didn’t feel like 7 yet it was.
Life & Death were the first to wake, in each other’s arms with different more elaborate robes than before. Where there used to be golden moons on black silk, there were now silver suns with crescent moons on grey silk for Yoongi. Jin’s golden suns on white silk were replaced with golden eclipses on yellow silk. As the gods they are, they were able to recall all that had happened before, walking hand in hand away from where they were and quietly towards the throne room; Roha awaited their arrival. It was a gut feeling, equal to the pull of wanting to know what is happening. She herself had her hair down letting it flow gracefully over her black hanbok with see through sleeves decorated with maroon thread depicting the language of si-hyuk and time, a language only deities could understand. It told the story of the mortals.
“Jin, Yoongi, please come in! I’ve been waiting for 7 years for you wonderful beings.” The ruler said, lifting herself from her maroon-navy throne at the head of the table, grabbing her parasol and walking down towards the older deities.
“You guys look wonderful in the new clothes. Here, please, take your seats as we wait for the others before we begin again.” She gestured for the two to sit down in their respective seats beside her.
“Are you saying my style before was sub-par?”
“I was most definitely not criticizing you Jin.” The ruler gave her bright toothy smile with crimson jewels encrusted deep in the sharp canines, or grills, as they used to call it in modern slang. Jin shrugged his shoulders and went to sit in his throne which was now facing across from Yoongi’s. Ever since the end Roha made some changes to the main throne room, the thrones were now placed in a circle around a wide emerald table. Made in honor of mighty Namjoon, it had the last bits of his godly essence which were to remain forever. Even if he was now indeed a permanent ruler of a separate universe. Andromeda.
Not long after Jimin entered the throne room met with the three chatting up a storm. They seemed to be catching up on the 7 years Roha had spent alone where the deities resided. He himself was wearing a partially see through tulle shirt with a silk robe and pants made for dancing embroidered with the finest of the ancient human language in pure gold, his golden zills loud on his waist, ankles and wrists; pearl drops hanging from his long lavender hair up to the middle of his spine with softly glowing magenta pupils. He smiled the moment he and Roha met eyes. They were always close. He loved her as if she was his own Viorelli. The god chose the human daughter whom he loved dearly as a parent should.
“You’ve grown up so different Roha, beautiful as always.” Jimin said, running his hands through her maroon hair with navy highlights which was hung down from her usual updo with gold coated hair pins shaped to replicate her precious crimson cyclone dagger which held the blood and tears of all her enemies. Jimin looked at her endearingly with pain before turning and walking towards his own throne, sitting down with one leg up in the chair.
“It feels as if it was just yesterday when I was running through Shangri-la's lavender fields with you. But my country is no more ever since the end. Yoongi’s moon will never shine before we see you again. I remember those were one of the last words I spoke to you.” Jimin spoke with a sad smile, reminiscing the past of the most beautiful land mankind had ever lived on. During the end, not even his adoptive daughter, Viorelli, survived. Even if it will be different than before, he shall create another Shangri-la. He shall see the poppy and lavender fields once more, the peaceful clear river will indeed flow again. As for now, it would have to wait. Jimin clasped his hand together and caught the attention of all the three other people in the room.
“Now is not the time to remember, we have a new beginning to start!” Just as he said the the gates opened once more to reveal Hoseok in his godly aquamarine glory, he was dressed in the same style as Jimin signaling their affiliation but the gold was replaced with a certain thread that was water formed to create threads, as such held a powerful essence. His light blue hair was brushed back to fully show the blue markings of blue water drop around his hairline represent his prophecies, his pupils were a soft light blue. The moment he stepped foot in the room, Jimin floated to his lover’s side and embraced him in the tightest hug which was reciprocated with a smile and peck on the cheek. Roha smiled in disgust, she was never fond of romance but her elders were the only exceptions.
“My love! It’s been seven years, goodness you don’t know how long it’s been. I’ve missed you.” Hoseok smiled as they softly pressed their foreheads together and kissed each other with smiles on their faces but were interrupted as someone coughed from the gates with blonde hair tied in a bun with shaved sides and a red robe covered in rubies revealing his chest with maroon silk tight fitting pants that accentuated his thighs to match. With his fierce crimson gaze, bold muscles, and various fire & war tattoos it was Jungkook in all his fiery glory. Jimin rolled his eyes as Jungkook walked past the couple flipping the middle finger as if it was supposed to mean something before plopping himself in his throne haphazardly.
“Not even a hello.” Yoongi rolled his eyes at the younger one who always loved to test their patience.
“In your dreams Yoongi.”
“Jimin, Hoseok, please sit down, we still have My father left.” Roha politely said summoning for black silver cups filled with wine placed in front of each deity’s throne except for Yoongi’s at the request of Jin. Jungkook sat up at the ruler’s words.
“I am also your father, where’s my welcome? And where is Pascal?” At the mention of the name Jimin felt anger, he was more than elated that she wouldn’t be joining them where the deities reside ever again and s were the others.
“She’s gone, this conversation will be held later.”
“Why not now? As your father you should listen to me.”
“I am not listening to a cheater.”
“Can a man not have a harem? Isn’t that the way it is with the phoenix ruler’s of the Eastern Kingdoms?”
“This is different so if you don’t want me to do it for you please shut your mouth. We will talk about this later!” The ruler glared at Jungkook with her eyes turning fully black but it didn’t last long as her eyes switched back to the normal navy color as she blinked and the gates opened to reveal the final deity.
Taehyung, in all his beauty stepped in the room and smiled at the view of his only daughter. She smiled when they made eye contact and quickly went to his side to embrace him in the tightest hug. He was wearing a pale blue almost grey tunic with matching pants under a cape dotted with the unique pattern of the clouds made with different sized diamonds.
Now that all the deities of the mortal earth were seated around the table: Hoseok across from Jimin, Yoongi across from Jin, Roha at the front of the table , and finally Jungkook across from Taehyung. They avoided meeting eyes for as long as they could. It was inevitable, the moment they met eyes for the first time again Jungkook was flooded with guilt, Taehyung remained indifferent to the situation even though his heart broke once more.
“Wow, I see we’re all here now... except for 2. But they do not matter as of today.” Roha said leaning back in her throne as all the deities’ eyes were on her.
“I would like to welcome you to the final beginning: the new era. We have plenty to do but first, we need to talk some things out because I know some people need an explanation.” The ruler glanced in between her two parents and then the others.
“It started with Hoseok.” Jungkook at the older deity setting him in the attention of the ruler. Nobody had spoken a word before yet jungkook was the first to accuse.
“I know, but he’s not to blame. The person we should blame is Yoongi but he didn’t know.“ Jimin tensed at her words and shook his head in disbelief. All this time Jungkook was the one who was guilty, but now the blame is on his lover & death? It just didn’t make sense. Now, his beliefs from before were being questioned and that is never supposed to happen to a deity.
“You weren’t even born then, how do you know?” Jimin asked, obviously partially offended by the ruler’s words. How dare she question his lover? It seemed as if all formalities were forgotten as she gave him a tight smile and her eyes flashed a carbon black. Crossing her legs and turning towards the purple deity.
“Please, do not question my power. I will not answer that question. You should know that I have Si-hyuk’s power. Moving on, the situation is simple. If Hoseok had never offered the sake to Yoongi, I wouldn’t be here at the end of the beginning. Pascal wouldn’t even be thought of. Jungkook... wouldn’t have done such things, Namjoon would be here and so on.”
“Since I am Right and Wrong. Justice and the ruler of time, I am expected to deal punishments. Obviously not without a proper hearing, but I believe nobody has done anything worthy of my scale...” Roha arrogantly spoke as her parasol rose up with a maroon shimmer. Positioned right above her, the parasol opened and shifted into a scale with an equal amount of carved obsidian pellets with flat bottoms on each side of the object. As quick as it appeared it turned back into her parasol and floated down onto her lap.
“I mean, there is Jungkook, god of Fire and warfare. I can’t say I am surprised things turned out this way based on his... attitude. We will be talking in private though. A nice family talk, just the three of us. Soon.”
“I don’t think you should, Hoseok has no need to do whatever this is.” Jimin objected and Roha rolled her eyes, her patience was running low and with a wave of her right hand Jimin was forcefully seated in his throne. To keep all their attitudes in check Taehyung spread a calming mist and hopefully nobody would go against his daughter. It was just the beginning, it was a given that there would be disagreements but now was not the time for a fight.
“You don’t need to look after me Jimin, she is the ruler. Please love, remember that.” Hoseok told his lover as he turned back to face Roha.
“Who said I was going to punish anyone? Bold of you to assume what I am going to do.” Roha rolled her eyes, an obvious change of attitude ever since she became ruler. Jimin didn’t remember this version of his best friend’s child. It was just different, nothing he was used to. She acted like Jungkook but also had some of the redeeming qualities of her father Taehyung. After the end, she leaned more towards acting like Jungkook and she was close to doing a complete 180 from the one who raised her.
“So then who are you going to punish?” Jin asked curiously, folding his hands on the table in front of him which had Namjoon’s essence flowing green in its glory.
“It’s simple, nobody. Why should I? If it wasn’t for you wonderful gods I wouldn’t be here in my rightful position.” She sarcastically made a gesture of thanks to Hoseok with a hint of evil Taehyung could sense in his daughter’s aura. It seems as if she’s turning into her own other father with no respect for the others. Becoming ruler of the deities has gotten to her head. Arrogance is a bad trait for a ruler, Taehyung thought. The mortal world has changed the beauty that was his child.
“Well, that’s nice I guess. We are all off to a fresh start. Why don’t we all forget the things in the past?” Yoongi hopefully said looking at the others and hoping it would dispel the awkwardness of whatever had just happened.
“Yes indeed Yoongi, I guess it’s of no use to keep you and others here if the only talking that needs to happen is between me and my parents. You all may leave except for them.” Roha dismissed the others and they all left, leaving the ruler and her two parents. Taehyung waited patiently as Jungkook restlessly bounced his leg under the table. She politely led them all to the gates and closed them once the last of her elders had left. Maybe now the act could drop.
“Now that we are all alone we have some things to talk about.” She walked over while her outfit changed to a more modern version of a hanbok, this time her navy-maroon hair was in a low bun and she used her cyclone dagger as a hairpin.
“Where’s pascal?”
“Father, once again I am very sorry for the pain you have felt.” She motioned for three extra chairs to appear. She turned to the former lovers and quietly asked them to sit next to her.
“It is ok, my child.” Taehyung gave her his best smile but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Answer my question Roha.” Jungkook was slowly losing his patience with this daughter of his. She turned her head to face him and made it so that those words wouldn’t weave themselves into a sentence and leave his mouth, she had shut him up for the moment.
“Do not do that to your father, my daughter.” Taehyung had since changed his cape into a robe that hung loosely on his body frame. An ethereal beauty he is, ruler of the skies he was and still is.
“I just wish for you to be happy.” She softly complained as a worried child would, reaching for his hand but he wouldn’t give. He has been slightly more reserved and quiet since he’d seen what his daughter was. Jungkook picked up on this change of aura and smirked to himself.
“He is your fully grown father. He doesn’t need your worries.” Jungkook ran a hand through his red locks of hair.
“As Jungkook said. I am not someone you should be worrying about. I am your father and the deity of the sky, I do not need your care.”
“Are you agreeing with him?!” She let out in disbelief.
“He is not wrong.”
“But he left you.”
“He said what he said Roha.” Jungkook agreed with his former lover.
“I never said we were on a first name basis.”
“Oh shush! I can tell you’re frustrated. Look at the way your eyes are child, you aren’t hiding anything.” Jungkook teased his daughter, sitting back in his chair and crossing his legs carelessly.
“Transparency is one of the best traits of a ruler!”
“Arrogance is not.” The smart reply pulled a laugh out of the fire god.
“Father!” Roha let out a strained wine as if she were a child being picked on. Taehyung got up and tied his hair back but some strands escaped making their place known beside his face. He got up from his seat and started pacing. The scene looked like two parents questioning their child.
“Father, do you still love him?” The ruler said in sheer disbelief. Jungkook snickered but he can’t say his immortal heart didn’t skip a beat. A new era brings newfound feelings.
You can’t possibly love a cheater!” At that statement the air became thick enough the other two could choke. The mist and clouds were there, the god could manipulate the air so others could feel it yet you would never be able to tell what he felt unlike Jimin.
“I am not answering that question.”
“Father, please answer the question.” The ruler pleaded putting her manicured pale hands to her mouth processing the answers to this question. Things had become more serious and Jungkook wasn’t in the mood. All of these old feelings possibly resurfacing were a possibility he didn’t want to think about yet he was still curious.
“Taehyung, answer the question.” This time it was Jungkook asking out of pure curiosity, it seemed to snap something in the parent because he finally spoke after a moment.
“The most I will say is that he cheated against his will, you know that yet you continue to accuse him.” Roha’s eyes went red but her scleras still white as she let out a sound of anger. This came as a shock to the other two people. Taehyung could sense the change of mood, His daughter angry and Jungkook in disbelief.
“Taehyung… I-“ The fire deity tried to speak but the words wouldn’t leave his mouth in the correct ways.
“I have said what I have said. Now if I may, I will take my leave.” He said heading towards the gate without facing them, the air was much thicker than ever, the lovers could feel it while drinking tea as if Taehyung was there himself.
“When the rain washes you clean you’ll know.” He let out painfully looking back at his child with tears threatening to spill from his eyes as he left for his sole residence. The moment the gates closed once more thunder cracked and so it began once more, a new beginning.
“ARGH!!” She screamed and Jungkook sat in his chair dumbly. He honestly didn’t know what to do, the fairest of them all called him innocent when the others thought otherwise.
“Roha calm down.”
“SHUT UP YOU INSOLENT FOOL!!” Her voice had changed into something unrecognizable, it seemed as if there were two people speaking her words. It was as if si-hyuk was speaking through her or she was also speaking as him. It triggered the fighter in Jungkook and two deities who aren’t scared to fight was not a good idea. The earth was still being fixed and renewed yet here they were, ready to fight. They had never had the ties of father and daughter so fighting seemed as an equal way of argument for the both of them. The other deities save for the sky were on high alert and gathered near Hoseok’s waters, ready to protect the humans if needed.
“Was respect not a part of your lessons as a child? As he said, I am innocent, what has you so pressed and livid with anger? Is it the fact that he might still love me when you want him to loathe and hate me like you do?” If there was anything jungkook was good at, it was taunting the enemy until they snapped. This was equal to poking a bear with a stick subtracting the fact that Jungkook knew who he was handling. War was what he was good at and war was what he was going to get. By this point they were equals and Roha had completely forgotten the word “parents'' at that moment.
“STOP TALKING TO ME!!” Her cyclone dagger removed itself causing her hair to fall as it was pointed up and towards Jungkook.
“Why?” He smugly stated one second before the dagger was headed his way but was quickly engulfed in his bright flames. Her eyes and hair had gone pitch black. Her sharp bejeweled canines grew in size and her glow was pitch black, red, and blue. Even through these changes Jungkook wasn’t fazed. He was never fazed with war, he loved it. He was glowing a bright red and called his favorite sword from his many. It was a simple one yet he loved it dearly. Grabbing the handle steadily he pointed it at his own daughter.
“YOU HURT MY FATHER. I HATE YOU.” She said forming at least 6 daggers in the air and sent them towards Jungkook with speed.
“Yet said person might love me still.” He said cutting the fleeing daggers with one swift motion. She sent even more and those were all shattered like a gem the moment the sword touched them. Losing was never something Roha did, just like Jungkook. They continued to fight, when she sent a dagger it was engulfed in the flames of his sword, and whenever he thrusted his sword to knock the parasol out of the hands that were commanding said daggers, she moved swiftly showing up behind him.
“You broke my father’s heart way before I was born and you didn’t even spare a glance when I was sent to that hell of a family. What makes you think you deserve my father’s love.”
“I never said I did. In all honesty I want him to hate me too, it would make my life easier. I hurt him, I accept that fact.” He stated as if he was defeated but he still went on strong. It seemed as if the sentence fell to deaf ears since she had her parasol pointed towards him and lifted him up with a swift movement by the neck. He wasn’t struggling to breath, even when she threw him out of the gates and into the courtyard causing an even bigger commotion. You have to lose a bit to win. All the deities were now there yet even if they wanted to do anything they couldn’t at the risk of the humans, Hoseok had warned them before they exited his waters.
“You made my father like this!” She accusingly pointed her parasol towards him, almost lifting him in the air once again but it was blocked when he sent a ball of flame towards the direction of her parasol yanking it out of her hands and towards his hands. She screamed in frustration.
“I don’t want to hurt you. I will not hurt my family.” He swung the parasol around before dragging it behind him as he walked closer to face the ruler who was also his daughter.
“When did you ever consider me family?! You hurt me and my father!” She took in a deep breath as she continued to press her tattered parasol against Jungkook’s sword.
“It was an accident. It. Was. Not. My. Fault. I never meant to. What. Do. You. Not. Under-fucking-stand!? I’m feeling highly guilty right now. Is that enough for you? Or do you want me dead? Go ahead and kill me then.” He enunciated with her parasol in his hands poking the glowing diamond that had appeared in the middle of her eyes with his single pointed finger.
“OH PLEASE! STOP IT WITH THE LIES!!” The ruler grabbed her parasol from his hands and swung it up creating the very scythe they all knew and despised.
“Put it away.” After hearing the statement her scythe that was held ready to slaughter in the courtyard of the gods retracted back into the parasol it was. Jungkook looked up to see none other than Taehyung standing there, in pure white robes hanging loosely save for his grey silk pants that were fluttering along with the air of his aura. White was a color Taehyung rarely showed since he was rarely displeased. Jimin made a step forward towards his best friend but Hoseok pulled him back with a shake of his head telling him to only watch.
“I don’t want to attend the funeral of my child’s father. How dare you not listen to your own father. I raised you both up here and secretly in the mortal world. Why won’t you listen to me when I say I am fine?” He walked closer towards his daughter. Jungkook slowly got up from his position and brushed his clothes off making his way towards his chambers ready to make it anew because of the memories that filled the room. He couldn’t bring himself to face Taehyung after all the things he’d said.
“All of this power and revenge has clouded your mind, look at yourself, about to kill your own father. Shame on you.” He said taking the parasol out of her hands and placing it on the stone.
“I don’t want you to make me feel like I wasted my time raising someone who is supposed to be a goddess.” Roha quickly bent down to pick up her weapon once more. It was as if she couldn’t live without it.
“Father, I hope you know that I am nothing good.” She shook her head quickly, replacing her cyclone dagger from the ashes in the throne room and summoning it to hold her hair in place once more.
“That is because you choose to be nothing good. Once again, even if si-hyuk’s power is flowing within you it does not give you any right to unleash your wrath upon all the other deities. Especially not your father.” He continued to scold his child.
“Your behavior makes me want to send you back to the mortal world.”
“Father- no. You don’t even have the power to.”
“Who said? We never crowned you as the sole ruler. You did so yourself. I believe we all rule over the mortal world equally. Having one deity over the others will only cause problems. Do you not see how we all were with namjoon? Even then, if you were ruler what would that make me and your father?”
“But I am the prophecy! I am the ending! I am right and wrong, justice and ruler of time! You can’t do shit without me!” She maniacally shouted, shaking her head at a violent pace as her canines retracted their diamond glow back into her mouth and the diamond between her eyes also dissolved into thin air.
“You were just the catalyst. You are still our equal.”
“No, I am the ruler!!” She denied his words, ruby tears fell down from her eyes and Taehyung reached up to wipe them.
“My poor child. You were alone for too long.” He said quietly pulling her in for a fatherly hug releasing soothing mist for her to calm down. It reminds him of the day she was first injured in the mortal world, he hugged her all night until she had stopped the tears. They stood there, all silent waiting for the tears to dry. It felt eternal as the sky sent out heaps of calming mists.
“It is okay, my child. I sensed that you’d change soon enough.”
“Father I’m sorry I.. I don’t know what got into me. I didn’t mean to hurt him.” She apologized and Taehyung smiled.
“Us deities change and we change fast, it’s ok, he kind of deserves it.” Taehyung grinned and let go of his daughter.
“Now, why don’t we restart with the others.” Taehyung grinned looking at the other deities who were standing in the same position as before.
“Let’s go.”
