Chapter Text
Baekhyun woke up hours later, feeling better than he deserved. He heard beeps above him. So he was at the hospital. Baekhyun turned his head left and right slowly, feeling his neck sore. Baekhyun smiled sleepily when he saw Chanyeol sleeping on a sofa that was too small for him. The alpha's limbs were all over the place with the blanket discarded on the floor. You're here? He came. Chanchan, Daddy came. Baekhyun suddenly held his stomach and closed his eyes in gratitude. The bump was still there. Chanchan was safe. Baekhyun looked down to be sure. Chanchan held on! Baekhyun smiled wider, feeling his lip ache. Now, the rest of his body ached too.
Memories of the incident flooded his mind. Baekhyun was about to leave Debonair when a car came barreling through the shop. Half of Baekhyun's body was hit by the side of the car, sending him flying to the back of the counter. He felt the cuts on his skin and the excruciating pain in his stomach. The blood made him panic. He looked around for anything, seeing his phone was some distance away. He dragged his body to it, dodging electric sparks as he held his bump. He called Chanyeol, because the last one that called him.
Hearing the alpha's voice made Baekhyun cry. He called for help, knowing Chanyeol would not let him down. And his trust was placed on the right person. A loud thud cut Baekhyun's thoughts, seeing Chanyeol on the floor. He just fell off the sofa. Chanyeol groaned and stirred. Baekhyun smiled, finding him funny. Laughing still hurt, but he couldn't help it. Chanyeol sat up half awake, hair sticking out everywhere as he looked at the wall blankly. The alpha rubbed his face and stood up, still unaware his omega was awake.
Chanyeol folded the blanket and got a bottle of water to drink. He looked for his phone, turned around, then saw Baekhyun watching him. He spat all the water in his mouth, clumsily tripping over his own feet. The baby giraffe never changed. "Good morning," Baekhyun whispered. "Quite the water show," he teased.
Chanyeol hurried to his side and kissed his face gently, especially his eyes. Baekhyun caught his lips, kissing him deeply. Chanyeol spilled his apologies, smothering Baekhyun with kisses. He let him sip some water and adjusted his pillows. Chanyeol elevated the bed slightly, too attentive to Baekhyun's needs. When they were settled, Chanyeol sighed like a lovesick puppy. "Gosh, you're so pretty." Baekhyun rolled his eyes, like always.
The door opened with Jongin, his wife, two doctors, and two nurses. Jongin and his wife were so thrilled to see Baekhyun awake. The doctors got to work, informing the patient about his condition. Chanyeol heard it all before, so he just nodded to everything they said. Baekhyun's pregnancy was risky for now, but when his blood count normalized, he could go home. There were tons of medicine he needed to buy for his nutrient deficiency. Food was served, but Baekhyun didn't want to eat yet.
Jongin's wife was all over Baekhyun. She was so excited to have a little one added to their gang. Chanyeol thanked Jongin for all his help. They dodged a bullet with that one. Jongin said he didn't need to worry about the hospital bills either. The President paid for it already. Chanyeol didn't know if he should be ashamed or amazed. Another bomb dropped on them. Jongdae was in labor as they spoke. That’s why they were there. Baekhyun wanted to get up and see him, but they all forced him to lay back. Minseok couldn't be bothered either. He had three to worry about right now. Chanyeol said they will visit them after they get settled.
Yoora, her husband, and Mr Park came later that afternoon to check on Baekhyun. Mr Park hugged the omega, another son to call his own. Yoora started nagging Chanyeol about how messy the room became and how he didn't fix Baekhyun's shirt on him. She did it for him, even if Baekhyun said he was fine. "Why are you scolding me? He likes it like that." Chanyeol had his hands in the air.
"Noona, I'm fine. Have a donut." Baekhyun reached for the box to feed her.
"Donuts? Park Chanyeol,"
"Ah will you shut up? He was craving it!" Chanyeol was getting annoyed with his sister.
"I'm not saying anything yet, god. I just wanted to ask where did you get these?" Yoora winked at Baekhyun as she ate a piece. She was totally annoying Chanyeol.
The afternoon became a Park family affair with Baseball on TV. Baekhyun was cheering with them, yelling as their favored team was close to winning. Even the doctors that did their rounds stopped to watch for a moment. It became a party in Baekhyun's room when their team won. Mr Park ordered food for everyone, too happy to have won. Chanyeol fed Baekhyun chicken pieces, laughing with them when stories were shared. So this was family, Baekhyun thought. It felt really nice to be in one again. Soon, he and Chanyeol were going to have their own. It was exciting yet nerve wracking.
The next day, Chanyeol got to see Chanchan better this time. He got so emotional, he took photos of the screen. Baekhyun said they could have these printed but Chanyeol wanted to brag online first. They found out they were having a boy, which Chanyeol celebrated loudly. Baekhyun threw a pillow at him to shut up. The doctor congratulated them, and hoped Baekhyun could recover faster.
Chanyeol just fell deeper in love with Baekhyun, if that was possible. He massaged the omega's feet often, got him anything he craved for, and more. Baekhyun hoped they could visit Minseok and Jongdae already. Chanyeol called Minseok, asking if the twins were with them. He hurried to get a wheelchair and wheeled Baekhyun to Jongdae's room. It was like family reunion part two.
Baekhyun said hi to the twins, a girl and a boy, touching their little hands. Jongdae introduced them to godfather Baekhyun. Chanyeol massaged Minseok's shoulders, a little scared to see the twins closer. This was real. Their lives were changing again. Minseok chuckled, a little tired but happy. He got one of the twins and let Chanyeol hold it. Minseok said he better practice now. Baekhyun looked at Chanyeol, cradling the little one in his big arms. The girl, Minsu, adored Chanyeol right away.
Jongdae bumped Baekhyun lightly. Baekhyun snapped out of his daydream to look at Jongdae. "You're drooling."
"I'm not." Baekhyun rolled his eyes then played with Daerin's hand again.
"I do have to admit, fatherhood looks good on Chanyeol." Jongdae smirked. Baekhyun blushed at the sight of Chanyeol fixing Minsu's little bonnet. Minseok stood beside him, watching him like a hawk in case Chanyeol messed up.
"Years ago, they were hugging Basketballs. Who would've thought they'd be the first dads?" Baekhyun chuckled. Jongdae did too, handing Daerin to Baekhyun for a moment.
"So did you ask him yet?" Minseok wondered.
"Ask him what?" Chanyeol was too busy fixing Minsu's clothes.
"I mean did you propose already?" Minseok tried to be hush hush about it.
"It's too early, hyung." Chanyeol did a double take to his omega, smitten beyond belief. Seeing him hold a pup made Chanyeol's throat dry.
"$50 means you're chickening out." Minseok challenged.
"Ya, Byun Baekhyun," Chanyeol called confidently from across the room. Baekhyun and Jongdae looked at him. "Will you marry me?" It sounded like the alpha was trying to pick a fight. Minseok sighed and got his wallet from his pocket. He knew better than this. Chanyeol’s was a competitive one.
"Uh, okay." Baekhyun sounded confused. It was so sudden.
"Okay." Chanyeol looked at Minseok suddenly. The alpha slapped $50 on Chanyeol's palm.
"Aish, Kim Minseok, would you stop gambling?" Jongdae scolded.
"We're rich, B! What do you want from the vending machine?" Chanyeol shook the bill happily. Baekhyun cheered softly, using Daerin's hands to celebrate. Minseok and Jongdae couldn't believe these idiots were having a pup together soon.
Once they finished visiting the new parents and said hello to their twins, Chanyeol wheeled Baekhyun back to their floor slowly. "I wasn't kidding though, B." Chanyeol uttered, thinking about what he just said. Baekhyun hugged two coffee bottles and two juice bottles, happy with their prizes from the vending machine. "Will you really marry me?" Baekhyun looked up to him and nodded. "Like, for real this time."
“For real," Baekhyun opened a pack of jellies and fed Chanyeol first. "But can we do it after Chanchan comes out?"
"I have until next year according to the President." Chanyeol shared, asking for another jelly. Baekhyun reached up to feed him. "You're due in May. How about November?" Chanyeol wanted to be sure.
"Sure, but we can go earlier. I can't wait." Baekhyun giggled. "What are we naming Chanchan?"
"Chanchan," Chanyeol smirked. Baekhyun said no. Chanchan was going to be his nickname. "You decide, but let's keep Chan. Park blank Chan."
"Blank Chan's good." Baekhyun teased. Chanyeol just scoffed. "Hey, what happened to my stuff? And the car I rented? How's Debonair? Is Monsieur mad at me?" Chanyeol leaned down to kiss him. Baekhyun malfunctioned for a moment, frozen in his seat.
"One question at a time, please." Chanyeol reminded him.
"Nevermind, I forgot everything." Baekhyun shrugged. Chanyeol smiled as he rolled his eyes. His omega was such a character.
The alpha carried Baekhyun to the bed with ease. Baekhyun pulled the meal table as Chanyeol unwrapped their dinner. They ate in peace, talking about living arrangements. Chanyeol’s apartment was fixed, so they could move in together after Baekhyun’s discharge. The door opened, making both of them look. Chanyeol's arm crossed Baekhyun's thighs as he stood up slowly. The alpha was in protection mode, his growl rumbling in his chest. Baekhyun clung to Chanyeol's hoodie. "What are you doing here, Mom?"
Once again, they were back in the boss battle. The witch found them.
“I-I don’t mean any harm, Chanyeol.” She stayed where she was, knowing her son was angry.
“Get out.” Chanyeol uttered through gritted teeth.
“Chanyeol-ah, I’m sorry.” She covered her mouth to silence her sobs. Chanyeol didn’t want to deal with her now. Baekhyun was trembling behind him. He was so terrified of her.
“Get. Out.” Chanyeol wasn’t her son anymore. Mrs Park placed an envelope on the ground and left in a hurry. Chanyeol hugged Baekhyun, hushing him. Baekhyun didn’t know he would react that way. Seeing her alone made him cower. All the evil deeds she did to Baekhyun flooded back. Chanyeol cleaned his face, distracting him by eating together.
Outside, Yoora saw her mother weeping. She turned around, but she saw her. Yoora didn’t want anything from her anymore. Mr Park saw his wife and his frozen daughter. He held Yoora’s hand and guided her to the room. They ignored her, knowing this was for the best. Yoora hugged her brothers, comforting them. Mr Park apologized for not coming sooner. No one wanted this encounter. Chanyeol protected them well too. Mr Park picked up the envelope on the floor, seeing a cheque inside. It was addressed to Chanyeol. Mrs Park gifted him money to help them raise the pup.
“Do you want this, son?” Mr Park brought out the cheque, stunning Baekhyun. He hugged Yoora, shielding his face from the paper. Even that traumatized him. Chanyeol got it and ripped it apart. He didn’t want anything from her either. He decided to put their mother on a restraining order. She has caused enough damage to them. They all respected it.
This was for the best.
Life became bearable for Chanyeol and Baekhyun after they moved in together. All the lawsuits that needed to be filed were passed to Prosecution swiftly. The press focused on Wong Joobin, leaving Chanyeol and Baekhyun out of the stories. Apart from the recent events, they had nothing to do with the politician’s dirty games. Mrs Park was another story they didn’t want to be associated with.
Chanyeol let them worry about that while he lived the best life right now. He laid his head on Baekhyun’s lap, talking to the bump while they spent a lazy afternoon together. Baekhyun was on leave until he gave birth to Park Yichan.
Debonair was still under renovation anyway, with Park Chanyeol as the Head Interior Designer. Mr Park called a few contacts in to save their tuxedo shop his family have patronized for years. VIPs of Debonair pitched in to help Monsieur Jacques rise again, setting up a temporary shop for him in the heart of the city. Chanyeol suggested they keep the location. It was positioned well in the business strict anyway. Monsieur Jacques agreed. The staff of Debonair used the space well for the time being.
Baekhyun felt sleepy all of a sudden. It came with the pregnancy. Chanyeol noticed his boyfriend dozing off, so he carried him to their bed and let him sleep. He asked the maids to take care of him while he was out. Chanyeol got his car keys and hurried to get a few things. Today was Baekhyun’s birthday. He was also proposing to him properly this time.
Sehun and his husband looked at each other and sighed. This was definitely not a place to get things for a birthday surprise. Chanyeol was panicking as he paced back and forth, pep talking himself. “Have you even bought a ring?” Sehun asked. Chanyeol got a ring box from his hoodie pocket and tossed it to them. Sehun’s husband’s jaw dropped.
“B’s finger will fall off, Yeol!” He looked at his own engagement ring and the one in the box.
“I’m not even going to ask how much this is.” Sehun returned the ring to him.
“Some millions,” Chanyeol just shrugged, saying it was no big deal. Sehun and his husband couldn't believe this alpha. He was so head over heels for Baekhyun. “How will I ask though? Do I just say it? Which knee goes down? What if he says no?”
“Oh my god Sehun, kick him out.” Sehun’s husband had enough of this.
It’s Jongin and his wife’s turn to be confused. They were on a date, but they had a third wheel all of a sudden. Jongin sat back, very frustrated. Jongin’s wife just nodded to his worries, not really processing anything. Chanyeol asked Jongin the same questions he asked Sehun. “Chanyeol-ah, get out. We can’t answer that for you. You know B best. You can just ask him like how you ask about the weather and he’ll say yes. Go. Go home. Post the ring when you’re done.” Jongin pulled him to stand, pushing him out of the restaurant.
Yixing didn’t even open the door for him. Sehun and Jongin warned him already. But Minseok felt bad for the alpha. Chanyeol was sweating when he opened the door. Jongdae burst out of laughter, seeing how pathetic the alpha looked. Minsu smiled at Chanyeol. Chanyeol went inside to greet the healthy twins. He distracted himself by blowing raspberries on their tummies. Chanyeol was so happy around them. Minseok got one of them before Chanyeol gave them whiplash. Jongdae got him a drink, knowing this will be a lengthy talk. He was proposing to Baekhyun tonight.
Baekhyun woke up feeling hungry. He opened a lamp, seeing he was alone. He checked his phone, seeing a few more birthday messages. Baekhyun replied to them then got up slowly. His bump wasn’t ridiculously big unlike Jongdae’s. He only had one inside, and they regulated his cravings to make sure he would give birth naturally. Baekhyun didn’t want any sharp object to touch his body. He stretched slightly and yawned.
Chanyeol knocked on the door and peeked inside, seeing his soon to be fiance awake. “Where have you been? Did you go out?” Baekhyun noticed Chanyeol dressed well. “Emergency?”
“Relax, I just got your cake. Nothing but the best for you.” Chanyeol kissed his lips and pulled him to have dinner together.
No, he didn’t have rose petals scattered on the floor or set the table with candles. There’s no weird floral scent in the air. Nothing was special about their place except the cake box on the counter. Baekhyun pulled the cake out while Chanyeol got a knife and two forks. The omega became speechless when he saw the cake. It was a plain white dome with a sparkly center. Chanyeol stuck the ring there, giving it a simple elegance.
Actually, Minseok stuck the ring there and called it a day. Chanyeol didn’t have to get on his knees or prepare a long speech no one would remember. The elder’s advice was simple. “Just say it.” Minseok smirked. Jongdae nodded, knowing Baekhyun would say yes. It was so obvious. Chanyeol went with it.
Now, he was looking at the omega looking at the cake. They didn’t need all the decorations and glamour for this. Chanyeol loved Baekhyun as himself from the beginning. Baekhyun felt the same. So this was best done as themselves, in the simplest way possible. Baekhyun looked at the alpha who was leaning on the counter with his hands beside him, smiling like how he did when he introduced himself to the omega.
“Let’s do it, B.” Chanyeol mumbled. Baekhyun smiled, nodding to him. There’s really no other way. Chanyeol walked over to him and cleaned the ring quickly. He slipped it in Baekhyun’s finger and patted his hand for good measure. “Happy birthday.” Baekhyun hugged him, giggling nonstop. This was the coolest proposal ever, he thought. Chanyeol hugged his omega, over the moon to be doing this right.
As usual, Chanyeol posted a photo of Baekhyun behind the cake, eyes closed with his fists by his jaw, making a wish. The ring couldn’t be missed. It was crazy big. Chanyeol’s flexing his bank account again. He put his phone down and ate with his fiance, spending his birthday happily. Reactions flooded his phone but he ignored it. Park Chanyeol was amazing with captions after all. He wrote August with a ring emoji. They were getting married in three months.
A week later, Chanyeol woke up to Baekhyun tugging at his shirt. The alpha just groaned. Baekhyun whispered to him it’s time. Chanyeol rubbed his hands over his face, thinking Baekhyun meant it’s time for him to wake up and go to work. He opened a lamp, seeing the omega standing with his hand supporting his bump. One of the maids was supporting his stance too. The other maid was cleaning outside, where his water broke.
Chanyeol woke to his senses, looking at Baekhyun like he just grew another head. He got dressed and got his car keys. They were calmer than they expected. Baekhyun wasn’t feeling too much pain yet. They got to the hospital, seeing Jongin was there. It was close to five in the morning only. Apparently, he did the graveyard shift for his father. “What’s up? Isn’t it too early for a checkup?” Jongin didn’t sense Baekhyun was about to pop.
“Well, Chanchan wants to see us now.” Chanyeol said with a shrug. It was Jongin who panicked for them, asking for Baekhyun’s doctor to come in now. Chanyeol helped the omega to a wheelchair and brought him to a delivery room. Jongin was so confused with their calmness. It lasted too soon.
Chanyeol’s hand was crushed as Baekhyun screamed. Jongin didn’t need to go in to know how painful it was. Chanyeol was screaming with Baekhyun, empathizing with him and apologizing over and over for putting him through pain. By 6:14AM, Park Yichan was born. Chanyeol was sweating as much as Baekhyun, panting the same labored breaths. They did it. Yichan’s wailing was a reward for them. Chanyeol saw their little boy healthy, kissing Baekhyun over and over in gratitude and awe. Baekhyun groaned with a loopy smile on his lips. “He has your ears. I’m screwed.” He chuckled softly. Chanyeol was so happy to see Yichan looking like Baekhyun. He was adorable.
Moments later, Chanyeol posted a photo of them with Yichan. Yoora dropped everything to see her nephew. Actually, everyone rushed to the hospital to see the baby fighter. The Park family went inside the room, getting a stern shh from Chanyeol because Baekhyun just fell asleep. Yichan too, in Chanyeol’s arms. All hearts melted when Yichan smiled in his sleep.
Yoora, however, couldn’t be stopped. She ordered clothes for her nephew immediately after seeing his size. Minseok saw Yichan, saying he was Baekhyun’s twin. Baekhyun chuckled in his sleep, hearing all of them all over their son. Yichan was passed to Yoora while Chanyeol took care of Baekhyun. As expected, Park Chanyeol was a great partner to his omega.
Baekhyun had to get back to work because he was getting bored. Debonair was renovated thanks to Chanyeol. When the omega was at work, Chanyeol would be the one taking care of Yichan. If Chanyeol had projects, the maids kept Yichan company. At night, Baekhyun and Chanyeol were all over their son. The little developments Yichan made had the two acting like it was a big one. When Yichan opened his eyes, he looked like Chanyeol. When he was asleep, he looked like Baekhyun. It was so adorable.
Each month was celebrated as a big thing in the Park household. In the third month, Yichan’s celebration coincided with Chanyeol and Baekhyun’s. It was finally their wedding day.
Chanyeol needed to be strapped down to a chair. The alphas were so close to punching him to sleep for him to calm down. Chanyeol wanted to get married this instant. He finally understood what his friends felt on their wedding day. He wanted to vomit. He kept rubbing his hands over his pants. His heart was about to jump out of his chest.
Everyone was teasing him about how amazing Baekhyun looked every time the door opened. For fun, Baekhyun and Chanyeol chose each other’s suits on their own. They were only going to find out what the other chose on their wedding day. Chanyeol wore his suit immediately, too loud and excited. Baekhyun was great at his job anyway. Chanyeol kept taking photos of himself, knowing he looked extra good. His friends just rolled his eyes at him.
“Guys, did you see B? Oh my god, I’d marry him if Chanyeol wouldn’t kill me.” Yoora entered the room, stepping on her brother’s jealousy hard.
“Leave. Leave noona, if you’re just going to be like that.” Chanyeol pointed to the door, flustered and frustrated that everyone got to see Baekhyun except him.
“You want a teaser? Here.” Yoora showed him a stolen photo of Baekhyun’s back while he got his hair done. He didn’t even have the suit on, but Chanyeol sighed in the most lovesick way. Baekhyun’s hair was amazing already, he thought. “Did he eat all the jellies? He looks like he’s on a sugar rush.” She wondered as she saw the empty packets. They tried to make him calm down, but he’s so hungry to see Baekhyun. They have been apart for two days. Just two, and Chanyeol was losing his mind. They had their bachelor’s parties separately, which was fun, but they missed each other terribly.
Baekhyun had Yichan on his lap, rocking him to sleep while the stylists did his makeup. Mr Park entered the room with a gift in his hands. He touched Yichan’s head then kissed Baekhyun’s head. “I hope I’ll be a decent father to you, B.” He smiled nervously, knowing this was a sensitive topic. Baekhyun saw the gift, an heirloom from their family, stunned by something so special it was given to him. “They’re very happy for you, son. They’re proud of you for fighting, for bringing Yichan to the world.” Mr Park wanted Baekhyun to have it, so he could pass it to Yichan in the future. It was their family’s crest. Beside it was a new one, it was Baekhyun’s own Park family crest. Chanyeol had one too and it was pinned on his suit already.
“Uncle, this is too much.” Baekhyun’s eyes sparkled with tears, overwhelmed. Mr Park dabbed his handkerchief over his eyes gently, hushing his new son.
“Dad, it’s Dad now. Don’t cry, Baekhyun. You’ll ruin your pretty face. Smile, smile because it’s a happy day because you’re part of our family now. Your parents are so happy for you, I’m sure they are.” Mr Park kissed his forehead, meaning every word. Baekhyun couldn’t stop crying even if he willed it to stop, hugging Mr Park’s arm as his heart missed his parents so much. They looked at each other, laughing at the burst of emotions before Mr Park pinned it on Baekhyun’s suit, admiring the clothes Chanyeol chose.
Jongdae came in with Minseok, saying the groom had a special gift for him. Minseok got Yichan for a moment to free Baekhyun’s hands. Jongdae was in charge of filming the entire thing. Everyone in Chanyeol’s room was only granted audio access for this moment. Baekhyun opened the big box, seeing different items inside. It was a new backpack, a new phone (a pair with Chanyeol’s), a new watch, and a hair clip. Baekhyun looked at Jongdae, smiling beautifully as he touched the hair clip. It was the same shape as the one Chanyeol fixed on his hair on prom night when they were on the sidewalk.
Baekhyun saw a Basketball jersey underneath, Chanyeol’s high school jersey. Baekhyun stepped back, stunned he kept one for Baekhyun. Minseok gave a knowing smile, finding the gesture sweet. These Basketball boys and their tradition of giving their jerseys to their high school sweethearts was a privilege many wished to have. Jongdae looked at his husband, remembering how Minseok gave his jersey to him when he proposed. “If you didn’t leave early on graduation day, he would’ve given that to you. No more running away, Mr Byun, I mean Mr Park.” Jongdae smirked. Baekhyun held it up and smiled, putting it over his chest as he gushed bashfully. “There’s more.” Jongdae saw the envelope inside so Baekhyun hugged the jersey and opened the envelope.
“This is too much.” Baekhyun’s eyes shone with tears again, looking at everyone in the room.
“No, this is not enough.” Chanyeol whispered as he listened to the call with pride.
“What is it?” Yixing asked as Minseok asked what it was also. Baekhyun showed them a plane ticket, a blank one with tons of blocked dates for next year. This was Chanyeol making all of their dreams come true. They were going to see the world now, with Yichan.
“Don’t give him my gift. I should’ve gone first! This is finale worthy.” Baekhyun couldn’t stop looking at the gifts as Mr Park chuckled in the back, finding Baekhyun amusing. The omega was so used to having the simplest things, the smallest portion of a big one all these luxurious gifts felt overwhelming. He had to get used to it soon because being married to Park Chanyeol was a luxury in itself.
“He got me something too?” Chanyeol looked around, curious and nervous at the same time. Jongin got something from the closet, sharing that he and Sehun hid it there when the groom went to the bathroom. Chanyeol reached for it in a hurry, heart racing to know what Baekhyun gave him. This time, it was Baekhyun’s turn to listen. The omega felt so ashamed for what he prepared after seeing Chanyeol’s amazing gifts.
The alpha untied the box, seeing a new camera inside. That was it. Chanyeol read the short letter, tearing up as he processed the sweet words from his future husband. They really came a long way together, through ups and downs that almost ruined their lives, through a rollercoaster ride they wanted to leave the moment it started. But here they were now, on the last step out of uncertainty and the first step to the rest of their life together.
It was so silent on the line that Baekhyun wanted to return all of Chanyeol’s gifts now. This was getting embarrassing, he thought. Chanyeol put the box on the table and hurriedly opened the camera to see the photos. Yes, it had photos saved. All of Baekhyun’s best shots of Chanyeol throughout high school were in there. Almost everything was candid. He went through all 56 photos, seeing the last one, the best one.
It was their first photo together. Ever. It was after Chanyeol’s game. They won that game because Chanyeol cheesily promised to win it for Baekhyun. Baekhyun was in a basic shirt because it was a weekend. Chanyeol was in his jersey, fresh from the post-game high. Chanyeol stood behind Baekhyun with his arm over his shoulder, both surprised to be looking at each other. Chanyeol smiled softly, eyes on the omega, oozing with admiration for him. Baekhyun looked up to the alpha, lips parted slightly with his cheeks dusted pink, clearly not expecting Chanyeol to be looking at him like that.
Everyone who saw the photo felt goosebumps all of a sudden, feeling how much they were attracted to each other. To add to the shivers, they all noticed that the date of the photo was the same as today. This was fate indeed.
When Chanyeol clicked next, a recent video was there judging by Baekhyun’s hair and the background. He played the video, holding his breath for some reason as the shaky start focused with Baekhyun sitting down and smiling awkwardly. It was shot in their bedroom. “I got something for you, Park.” Baekhyun looked at his tangled fingers on his lap then looked at the camera, shaking his head. “Today it’s...August 3rd. You’re out with the guys. Yichan’s outside with the nannies.” Baekhyun introduced. “Let’s get this over with.” He reached for something behind the camera and showed a negative-like photo. “Yichan’s a big brother, Yeol.” Baekhyun laughed incredulously, looking at another sonogram and bringing it closer to the lens. “Congratulations to us, I guess.”
Baekhyun had his head in his hands, waiting for a reaction from anyone. Jongdae looked at the omega as Minseok looked at Yichan. Mr Park’s eyes widened beyond its limits, letting the audio sink in. “W-What?” Chanyeol watched the video again, and again, and again to make sense of things. Everyone got it, Baekhyun was pregnant again. “Where’s B? I need to see him.” Chanyeol announced with a long exhale. All the guys were protesting, telling the groom to calm down. Jongdae cut the call, seeing Baekhyun in distraught.
“How long?” Minseok asked, still shaken by the revelation. Baekhyun raised three fingers then lifted his head with a forced smile.
“Park Chanyeol for three,” The omega found it funny. It was so funny, he was in tears.
The wedding coordinators got moving, oblivious with what just transpired. It was time for the ceremony. Chanyeol grabbed his suit jacket and hurried out the door, eager to see his omega now more than ever. The guys were directing him where to go, knowing things just got serious. Chanyeol always found out he had a pup when he got married. They didn’t want him to get married again at this point.
Chanyeol stood in position obediently, wanting to walk down the aisle, no, run down the aisle to meet Baekhyun faster. Mr Park joined his children, smiling his best as he congratulated his son. It was a happy day, right? Yoora fixed her gown and linked arms with Chanyeol, rubbing it comfortingly in silent congratulations for her brother. “Who’s walking with B?” Chanyeol asked them, wanting to make sure that he wasn’t alone because he had no family left alive. Minseok raised his hand, assuring his dear friend that he wasn’t going to let Baekhyun run away this time. Monsieur Jacques neared them, saying Baekhyun asked him to be his family...with Minseok. The man hugged Chanyeol, hugging him and whispering congratulations for too many reasons.
“Baekhyunnie really chose a good one for you. This is better than Game Over.” Monsieur Jacques dusted his shoulders and told him to smile. This was their dream come true. Chanyeol nodded, overwhelmed by everything. Now more than ever, he just wanted to be with Baekhyun and Yichan.
The doors opened to let the alpha in. Chanyeol held his sister’s hand and did this the second time, for the right reasons and for the right person, for Yichan and their new little angel.
Baekhyun walked to his position, playing with his engagement ring anxiously. He wanted to vomit. This was their dream come true but it was so overwhelming to the point where he was tearing up again. Minseok wiped the corners of his eyes, careful with the sparkles. “Ah, you’re so pretty and you’re crying.” He scolded lightly then fixed the hair clip on his hair. Monsieur Jacques hugged him, emotional that the long journey was getting the happy ending it deserved.
“He waited long enough, Baekhyunnie. Let’s go?” Monsieur Jacques invited as Baekhyun nodded and held their hands.
The doors opened to a white wonderland, a picture of Baekhyun’s heaven. Chanyeol’s big round eyes looked down immediately as he willed himself to not cry. His groomsmen were shaking him, forcing him to look. Minseok was so glad to not be there right now. Chanyeol’s face was so red that he smiled through the emotions as he saw Baekhyun walking down the aisle. “Deep breaths, B. We’re almost there.” Minseok whispered, knowing how daunting this was. Baekhyun felt so dizzy with emotions as he let out a nervous laugh. Chanyeol didn’t want to wait anymore, so he met them along the way to fetch the love of his life. The alpha held his hands, shaking his head as he beamed.
“Hi,” Baekhyun whispered. Chanyeol suddenly hugged him, sniffling to his neck as he thanked the omega over and over. They let the gossip spread to the guests, making the event more thrilling than it was. Yoora kissed Yichan’s head, bouncing him in her arms. The emotions ran high at this point. Chanyeol collected himself and kissed Baekhyun’s forehead, thanking Baekhyun for no specific reason this time. He was just grateful for him. They faced the altar, ready to face their new life together.
The ceremony went by quickly without a hitch, thanks to the President of the country being present. The venue was heavily guarded from the inside out. Baekhyun kept giggling as Chanyeol kissed him over and over, bragging to the world that he was the happiest and luckiest alpha. Chanyeol lifted Baekhyun and spun him around, over the moon they made it to this point. All the ups and downs were worth it. Chanyeol got on his knees and kissed Baekhyun’s stomach also, warming a few more hearts. Yoora brought Yichan to them for a family photo.
They both kissed Yichan’s cheeks, making him cry. Baekhyun hugged Yoora as they welcomed him to the family for formality's sake. The alphas all fully bowed to Chanyeol, asking for his stamina and endurance for making two so suddenly. Chanyeol pretended to punch each one to make them stand. They were still the same boisterous bunch, what a relief. Baekhyun tugged his sleeve and handed Yichan to him. Chanyeol kissed his baby boy’s pink cheeks, asking if he was sleepy. The family they both craved for grew slowly. With their hands together, they were going to see the world. After a long journey, they made it to the starting point of their new life ahead.
This was the happily ever after they deserved.
