Chapter Text
Horried news racked your family in the middle of spring.
What was supposed to be a friendly exchange letters from Crepus Ragvindr turned horrid once a letter announcing his death arrived at your family's estate.
You were worried sick for the brothers, especially Diluc, knowing how close he and his father was even so inheriting the dream of joining the Knights of Favonius from the now late Master Ragvindr.
The sudden death of Lord Crepus was suspicious to you. Never had he written about any illness in his letters as well as Diluc's letters too you. It just didn't add up but you pushed it back to the back burner for now.
"Maria, anak ", Your mother called out to you, you raised your head from reading the letter for the upteenth time today. The process of swallowing the death of a close family friend slowed down your processing mind.
"You have to get ready, na, you still have to go the Academia, remember?", her tone was gentle as she too was greiving for Crepus. You nodded and placed the letter back at coffee table. An idea struck to you and you quickly turned to your mother.
"Ma! Do we still have any envelopes left?", You asked in a hurried tone. She nodded, "Yes, it's in your father's study", you thanked her and made your way to the study.
You looked inside and saw your father wasn't there, with quick steps you snatched an envelope and the family stamp and made a beeline towards your room.
Locking your door, you sat down at your writing table and got the ink, quill and paper ready. You opened your notebook to create a practice letter before actually writing on the paper that will be sent to the Dawn Winery.
"Dear Diluc,
I hope this letter finds you well",
"WHAT A STUPID INTRO!", You let your head bang softly on the table. Not enough force to disturb the ink. Writing has always been your forte but writing this letter to Diluc is the one to induce your writer's block. A soft sigh escapes your lips as you tried to envision how the letter was going out in your mind.
"ANAK! You should get your stuff ready for your trip to the Academia, mamaya na yan!", a defeated sigh escaped your lips again as you stood up from your writing table to get your stuff ready for the academia.
As time passed by and your stuff was almost ready. Inspiration struck you, leaving your clothes unfolded for a moment to write the contents of your letter. Ignoring even to write a practice letter and decided to write directly onto the paper that will be sent to Diluc.
You haven't realized it but dinnertime came as your mother called you to finally eat. A content smile made its way to your lips as your read the letter to yourself one final time. With a content nod, you leave the letter so the ink will dry as you made your way downstairs to eat with your family.
"Dear Luc,
Greetings, I know you have already received a lot of condolences so I just want to start, how are you doing? Do you feel alright, if you ever need a vacation from Mondstandt just know that my family will be more than happy to host you temporarily here in Natlan.
