Demitri know why he was at this party. It’s not like he is very sociable on the food chain of high school he wasn’t exactly at the top. Even though the karate thing helped a little it didn’t do much since he had the social skills the same as a slug.
Demitri sat on the couch fumbling his thumbs until some girl with red hair sat down beside him "this place blows" she looks at him and he smiles at her just happy to have someone talk to
"Yeah I’m not exactly a party person"
"Then why come to one?"
Demitri looked up to see Hawks across the room.
He was the reason.
she looked up "ah I see... boyfriend issues" she stands up "we can make him jealous" she grabbed him and pulled him up
"I don’t want to make him jealous I just" he didn’t know what he wanted he wanted to make up and take it too slow maybe but how will he ever do that when there’s been so much damage.
"Alright then we can just dance"
Demitri didn’t know how to tell her down so he just agreed to go along with it "are you trying to make someone jealous" he asked and she got close to whisper in his ear "yep but I don’t think it will work"
"Why wouldn’t it?"
"Your not exactly my type"
Oh, that stung "why am I too ugly for your profound taste?"
"Because your not a woman" she laughed and Dimitris’s mouth formed an o which made her laugh even more.
"So you like"
"Women yes"
"Well then that makes sense but I do know why you decided to come over and talk to me?"
She pauses "you looked sad so I wanted to try to cheer you up plus I’m bored. Now are you gonna dance with me or what?"
Hawks can’t believe what he is seeing. His relationship ended 3 weeks ago and Demitri is flirting with some stranger at a party right in front of him. He hasn't even gotten to talk to him but jealousy boils in his blood as Demitri and the stranger start to dance.
Hawks excused himself from the people he was talking he needed to do something.
Hit something break something.
How can he move on so quickly it felt like everyone was leaving him.
"Wait, for Eli, it’s not what," Demitri says but hawks walked past him quicker he didn’t need to hear any lies. He just needed space from everyone. He was given permission to be in the basement and it was always quiet there so he pushed past everyone and shut the door behind him but it didn’t matter because two minutes later Demitri walked in.
"Hey, can we talk ?" It was so awkward but Demitri had courage in the form of underage drinking he wasn’t drunk but he was able to be assertive.
"What would you want to talk about demi?"
"I want to talk about the breakup and how it was unfair"
"What do you mean it was unfair you are the one who broke up with me? Im fucking hurt demitri"
"Your hurt... let me say that again your hurt?" Demitri stifled permitted a laugh he was about to lose his shit.
"Eli you broke my fucking arm you were my best friend but you fucking hurt me to the point you broke my fucking bone I loved you and tried so hard to be forgiving like at last moon party I wanted to bond with you and how did you repay me"
Hawks stayed silent they both know what happened it wasn’t long ago Demitri is so angry that he is crying and it hurts Hawks but he can’t say anything.
"The only time I hurt you is because I fought back I didn’t let you bully me and you broke my arm.. caused nightmare after nightmare"
"Then hit me. Brake my arms I won’t fight back I promise"
"I don’t want that hawks I just want to like you again I want to be friends I want to watch dr who with you and share comic books but I don’t think it will be that simple I don’t want an 'eye for an eye' i just want to go back"
"But we never can"
"I know but we can try again later"
Hawks got as close as he can and with Dimitris confidence, he didn’t back up or look scared which already meant he was changing "we can kiss on it " hawk meant it as a joke but Demitri grabbed Hawk by the collar of his shirt and pulled him into a forceful kiss that took him by surprise.
Demitri never made any move like this.
Hawks melted into the kiss but soon enough Demitri pulled away
"See you around" he wiped his mouth and left leaving hawks to himself in the basement.
