“I’ve been super busy with queen duty,” Historia said while resting on his arms. “How is Krista?”
“She’s asleep right now, got tired from playing around all day.” Historia then announced to the group that they should go inside their own cabins and rest for a while. She also mentioned wearing something more comfortable than what they were wearing; they were gonna have a party later that night.
“Party?” Connie asked. “Like with beer and alcohol?” An obvious smile appeared on his face
“Like you can handle drinking, I saw you once passing out from one glass of gin,” Jean remarked to his friend
“HEY! That was 2 years ago why haven’t you forgotten about that? Do you have a crush on me or something???” Connie teasingly said to his friend
“You idiot, no man or woman alive on this earth would ever have a crush on you.”
Historia watched on and laughed, it was delightful to listen to. Reiner taught that her laughter hasn’t changed much, it was still full of joy and genuine happiness. While listening to Historia’s laughter Reiner couldn’t help but feel this warm sensation in his heart. After a while, he was already smiling.
“We should really go inside and rest,” Historia told to her friends. “It’s getting dark”
Eric then suddenly told the group that there was one less cabin because of a broken bed “one of you would need to stay inside our house.” Connie, without a second thought, immediately mentioned Reiner
“Huh? Why me?”
“Because you’re used to being alone?” Connie said “What? T-that’s not true...” Reiner reacted uncomfortably with the statement; Historia noticed his reaction, she taught to herself that was something uncharacteristic for Reiner. Reiner in Historia’s mind was this stern, confident, and reliable type of person. Not someone who gets bullied by Connie. It confused her.
“I’m just kidding Reiner. I just thought that the whole reason we’re here is for you and Historia to come to an agreement so… I thought being much closer to the queen would speed things up.”
Armin nodded and agreed with Connie “The faster we get the peace talks over with, the better.”
Reiner reluctantly agreed and the group then went to their specific cabins. Reiner walked with Historia and Eric.
Eric made small talk and asked Reiner about his story “Reiner, I heard stories about you taking a colossal titan explosion just to kill the founding titan, is that true?”
“Yeah, It’s nothing special, I’ve endured worst.” Reiner jokingly said
“We’re you hurt?” Historia asked with concern.
“Well, I still had my titan powers back then, so It didn’t hurt that much. Plus I’m a pretty tough guy, you know?”
Historia giggled “That’s the Reiner I remember,” Hisu gave him a smile, Reiner did the same. |
The three then approached the blue ranch-style house, it was big, a house fit for a queen, but also simple. It reflected Historia’s personality. When they entered the house Eric directed Reiner to his room. It was next to the master bedroom and shared a porch with them.
“This is your room Reiner, it’s an extra room here a little dusty but I’m sure it can fit your needs.”
“This is more than enough. Thanks.”
Before leaving Reiner to rest, Historia reminded Reiner that there will be a late-night party later and told him to wear something comfortable.
“Thank you, Historia. You both get some rest too.”
Reiner then went on and got himself comfortable in his own room, he put down his baggage and proceed to take off his button-up shirt, his toned body still remained even after losing the armored titan. In fact, he looked better. Reiner then went to rest in his bed and taught about how he will apologize to Historia. He felt so guilty for everything he did, even after 7 years, he felt like that his sins could never be forgiven.
Once again alone with his thoughts, he drowsed off to sleep.
