Chapter Text
Bucky wakes up with a smile on his face, for the first time, he's alright; he's not on the cold floor and he's not feeling empty like most of the time. Watching Sam's nephews play with the shield has made him feel a lot better.
It's a shame he cannot stay longer in the Wilsons house, but he understands, he's just a guest, he's not family and probably they don't want him around for long.
However, the thought doesn't make him feel bad, actually he still grinning when he finally gets up to help Sam with the boat.
"So what's going on between you and my brother?"
Bucky, former Winter Soldier, gets startled by Sarah's voice coming from the kitchen. He didn't even see her and he's not entirely sure if it's because he was finally relaxed in a place or because he's getting sloppy.
"What do you mean?" He's blushing as he says this, which is not really helping his case because she's looking right at him.
Her brows quirk up at him, almost mocking him, making him feel ridiculous; maybe he's acting ridiculous.
"No, no. Don't give me that look, I'm not Sam, I won't fall for it," she says, amused. "I mean all those heart eyes between you two. I'm not blind."
"Between us?" Bucky doesn't believe it, Sam can do so much better, but instead of arguing with her, he sighs: "Fine, I think I have crush on Sam, but don't tell him."
For some reason, she grins.
"It's mutual. So go ahead and ask him out or something... But if you hurt him, I'll hurt you, well, I don't think I need to tell you this."
Bucky still doesn't believe it, maybe it's some kind of trap... But he nods and rushes out from the house.
However, instead of talking to Sam about it, he just starts helping him with the boat.
When Sarah finds them hours later and starts scolding them for getting into something they have no idea how it works, she takes the opportunity while her brother is looking down and mouths at Bucky: "You're both idiots."
He knows what she's talking about, but he refuses to say something to Sam (at least not now).
So she's probably right about them... Well, about Bucky at least.
