Chapter Text
Everything about Felix’s life was steadily going from bad to worse.
It all started with the dizziness, which evolved into emotional outbursts and random horniness and falling out of shape from not practicing dancing. Now, to make matters even worse, Felix was having an emotional breakdown (and not even the first one of the day) while he sat on the bed with his jeans pulled only up to his thighs.
His crying easily caught the attention of his other roommates - Felix was a bit of a noisy crier and at this point, they came to expect it. Minho stepped into the doorframe and leaned against the support, arms crossed and looking unamused and unsurprised. “Do you need me to get Chan? Or should I call Changbin over again?”
As much as Minho hated letting Changbin in, because Changbin was a needy horndog and little Felix doesn’t need to be exposed to that, he would rather Changbin be Felix’s calming alpha than have to subject Jeongin to that kind of responsibility. It was much to his dismay, but he’d had to call Changbin over a few times to ease the worked up omega. But only if Chan was busy, because he and Felix were meant to be together, no matter how oblivious Chan seemed to be to Felix’s obvious feelings.
Minho really didn’t mind meddling. He found joy in the secret chaos and match-making strings he pulled behind the scenes.
Felix buried his face in his hands. “My clothes don’t fucking fit anymore,”
Minho frowned. “They- what?”
Felix looked up, eyes puffy and face red. “You guys made me stop working out and dancing so now I’m fat and ugly.” He began sobbing harder.
“I can’t even fit in my jeans anymore. I just, they get stuck, and these have never been small on me and now I’m out of shape and I’ll never get to become a professional dancer now-”
“Shhhh. Hush, Felix.” Minho had quietly but quickly made his way to the bed, pulling Felix into a one-armed hug. He rubbed Felix’s arm. “Let it out. It’s okay.”
With his free hand, Minho pulled his phone out stealthily behind Felix’s back and began texting into a group chat with Chan and Changbin, as subtle as possible.
‘SOS. Felix.’
Changbin was the first one to notice the text message. He had been casually laying on the floor in the recording studio that Chan had booked for a few hours. It had begun with Chan singing and Changbin providing feedback, and then bouncing lyrics back and forth - but then Chan had found his mojo and was so deep in his own little world that he was lost to Changbin.
Changbin had simply settled for getting cozy on the floor and scrolling through social media.
After reading the text, he sat up with a groan. Chan didn’t acknowledged that he even heard Changbin, so the younger male poked Chan’s side. Chan instinctively curled up on himself and made a crying noise that could only be described as dinosaur-esque.
“Whaaaaat?” Chan whined pathetically.
Changbin held up his phone. “Minho texted. It’s Felix.”
“Again?” Chan asked.
“Again.” Changbin confirmed defeatedly.
“Alright,” Chan closed his notebook, gathering his belongings and unceremoniously tossing them into his bookbag. “Let’s head out. Are you done in here?”
“Yeah, Let’s go.”
Thank God Chan had a spare key to the dorm, since Minho so generously left the door locked for them. Not that they were aware that Minho couldn’t separate himself from Felix without the world possibly ending.
Despite the turmoil growing within Felix, the dorm was eerily quiet upon the entrance of the two vocalists.
“Where are they?” Chan whispered, more to himself than anything, as he carefully removed his shoes and set down his bookbag. Changbin followed suit, though while Chan started heading to the room Felix slept in, Changbin stayed in the kitchen.
Chan carefully cracked the door open a little before poking only his head in. What he saw was the last thing he’d really expected to see.
He first saw Felix’s bare back, which was pale (and beautiful) and faintly freckled.
Next, he saw Minho holding onto Felix’s jeans, holding onto them and lifting them up so powerfully that Felix was losing his balance and almost lifted off of his feet.
Chan really didn’t realize how strong Minho was, but that was besides the point.
The point was that Minho was apparently helping dress Felix?
“What… is going on in here?” Chan started, allowing himself into the room.
Felix whipped his head around, and suddenly had his back facing Chan once more, his arms covering his bare chest and stomach. “Don’t look at me!”
Chan frowned, turning his attention to Minho for guidance. Minho just frowned and shrugged.
“Felix, do you want to tell Chan what’s going on?”
“No.” Felix was adamant.
Chan nodded. “Alright, I’ll just step out then… I’ll be in the living room.”
Chan was on his way out, excusing himself, when Minho chimed in. “Can you send Changbin in?”
Chan was about to ask how Minho knew Changbin was here, but he stopped himself as he remembered how heavily Changbin wears his cologne and how sensitive an omega’s nose is. He settled for a curt nod and saw himself out of the room.
Returning back to the main living space, he was met with Changbin, arms full of sweets. “I’m ready to complete my loving alpha duties,” He stated with a bright smile and a singsongy voice.
It boiled Chan’s blood, but there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t calm Felix the way Changbin’s pheromones could.
He was met with mixed emotions when he heard screeching from the bedroom when Changbin entered. He stumbled back out almost immediately, ducking when a sweet cake was thrown at him.
“What’s his deal?” Chan asked.
Changbin made sure the door was shut. “I guess he’s being self conscious about his weight,”
“And Minho is the only person he’s being vulnerable with?”
Changbin shrugged. “I mean, maybe?”
He sighed before he continued, looking away. “Everyone knows he likes you, so you really don’t need to get so jealous just because I’m an alpha. He would always choose you. I just think he doesn’t want you to see him when he thinks he looks bad.”
Changbin was speaking logically - which was a little unusual for an alpha in general, let alone after pretty much being rejected for comfort - but it did little to ease Chan’s anxiety about the whole situation.
“I’m going to go back in.”
“I don’t think you should, Chan. Minho’s got a good hold on him-”
But Chan was already pushing the door open once more.
He ignored Felix’s cries of “ Chan, go away! ” and settled for cupping both of Felix’s cheeks and kissing him deeply.
He made sure the kiss lasted as long as it needed to, long enough for Felix to physically relax in his hold and know that his nonverbal message had been communicated. I like you.
Felix crumbled into Chan’s arms once the kiss was broken, and although Felix was now full of warmth and happiness, he couldn’t but cry. Cry with anguish, anger, frustration. Feeling loved and cared for. It was too much for the omega’s emotional state, and the only way to let it out was through his tears.
Minho put a gentle hand on a shoulder of each of them. “Are you guys okay if I step out then? As much as I love all things love and happiness and rainbows, I’d rather not see you get it on.”
Felix simply flashed his middle finger to Minho before nuzzling himself back against Chan’s chest, under his chin.
Minho left with a roll of his eyes.
Once Minho was gone, Felix looked up at Chan with big, wet eyes. He whispered something that Chan couldn’t quite catch. “What was that?”
Felix shrugged weakly, looking away. “I don’t fit my pants anymore.”
Chan frowned. “Oh. Did they shrink in the wash?”
Felix chuckled in disbelief while shaking his head no. “No. I’m getting fat.”
Chan frowned and rubbed Felix’s side comfortingly, not sure what to say.
Felix continued anyways, to Chan’s relief. “It’s this vicious cycle… You guys won’t let me exercise or dance anymore, which has been fine except I have to perform a piece soon and I haven’t touched it in so long, and I’m getting weaker and retaining so much water and I’m peeing constantly and now I’m gaining weight. But I can’t do anything because then I feel ill. I hate this,”
“Maybe you should go see a doctor,” Chan reasoned.
Felix simply shook his head. “I can’t afford to go see a doctor, especially over some kind of stupid virus or whatever this is. It will go away. I’ve been resting and the dizziness has been better, I should be able to dance again by the end of the week and get rid of this pudge.” He poked his somewhat firm stomach.
It was very evident, looking at Felix shirtless before him, that Felix had gained weight. It seemed to mostly be in his stomach region, which was a bit strange to him, but he supposed that Felix had always been thin so of course his fat would congregate there to protect his organs. His abs had started to fade as well.
Chan very carefully ran his hand over Felix’s tummy, over the pulled up jeans that could not be buttoned. While it was firm, he blamed it on Felix’s abs.
“Felix…” Chan sighed a little, which cause the young omega to recoil as if he’d done something wrong. “No, don’t shy away from me. Please,” He removed his hand from his stomach and slid it around his waist, pulling him flush.
“Felix I’ve had the biggest crush on you ever since you kissed me at that party. You’re such a ray of sunshine and I love spending time with you and being with you and around you.”
He could feel Felix smile.
“I guess what I’m saying is that, I don’t care if you gain a few pounds or if you have a little bit of chub. You’re beautiful .”
He wished he could see Felix’s face, because he knew the omega had to be blushing heavily.
He got his wish when Felix put a very slight bit of distance between them so he could look in Chan’s eyes, though their bodies were still touching. “I really like you too Chan, I’ve had a crush on you since forever…” his lip started quivering and a stray tear fell.
Chan used the pad of his thumb to wipe the tear away. “I’ve been spending time thinking of the perfect way to ask you out, and I had some great ideas but… but I think you need this now.”
Felix sniffed, still watching Chan.
Chan grinned. “Will you be my boyfriend, Felix?”
Felix squealed and hugged him tightly. “Eeee! Of course, of course Chan. I’d love to be your boyfriend!”
Chan’s arms were around Felix’s waist and he lifted him and spun him before setting him down gently with a firm kiss.
“So please, please stop worrying about how you look and just worry about feeling better, okay? Once you’re doing better you and I will both work out together, and I’ll come watch you rehearse your dance and everything will be alright, you understand?” Chan was caressing Felix’s sides.
Felix nodded, more tears falling although now he was smiling. “I’m s-sorry that I’m so emotional,”
“It’s really okay Felix, It’s good to feel your feelings.”
Felix hugged him tightly again, his sadness now replaced with pure bliss and happiness.
